Review and technical characteristics of the Doogee T3 smartphone. Review and technical characteristics of the Doogee T3 smartphone Doogee T3 phones review

Which was positioned as a smartphone for travel: it is waterproof, equipped with a more or less capacious battery, and at the same time has a heavy iron case, so that if necessary, this smartphone can fight off both a bear and any scoundrels who occasionally come across in the forest. However, this phone did not make much of an impression on me: it looked slightly intimidating, its characteristics were more than average, and the time battery life he was on par with himself regular smartphone Same price category. That's why I didn't even write a review of it. alignment="center">
Doogee TITANS2 DG700 Then I somehow came across a note where it was very pathetically told that the Doogee company had released the Doogee T3 smartphone, which, they say, would be a serious competitor to Vertu smartphones. It sounded very funny. Because Vertu are not smartphones. Vertu is a show-off, that is, a lifestyle! The guys came up with a brilliant thing. They took some ancient Nokia, made an ornate case for it, stuffed it with as much gold, diamonds, sapphire glass and titanium plaques as possible, after which they multiplied the final price by 250 and began selling this thing for ten thousand euros. And here it doesn’t matter how much this smartphone actually costs and whether it’s convenient to use. The important thing here is that everyone knows: since you have a Vertu, it means you can throw away ten thousand euros on POINTS, and this means that you occupy a certain level in the SWORN hierarchy of society. So Vertu is a kind of religion: you bought a Vertu, installed at home there’s a golden toilet or you put a golden loaf of bread there - that’s it, you’ve made it in this life, you can afford to throw away a lot of money on any madhouse. Accordingly, it wasn’t very clear to me what they even meant by the term “compete with Vertu.” I was not very sure that anyone would buy a Doogee smartphone for 10 thousand euros. I would never even sign up for a price of 5 thousand euros, even if there are crystals from Swarovski and Khokhloma painting from Nikas Safronov or Safronov painting from Khokhloma. Then I found out that they plan to sell Doogee T3 at the price of something there around $200. Around two hundred dollars, Karl! A competitor to Vertu! Here one could say that this is Vertu for the poor, but the phrase “Vertu for the poor” is an oxymoron in itself! Because once again: Vertu is not a phone. Vertu is a “friend or foe” recognition system. And then I just got a contact at the Doogee representative office, so I immediately asked directly: are you Vertu’s competitors or not? The contact laughed and honestly said that in the design, as is often the case with Chinese manufacturers, there were some borrowings, but the company itself, of course, does not position the Doogee T3 as a competitor to Vertu. Doogee T3 is a business model that is interesting not only because of its design, but it also has a second display, as well as several original security applications. Well, the representative said, you can look at it yourself, we will send it to you. And they actually sent it, for which we thank them, because this phone should go on sale only at the end of July. Doogee T3 really turned out to be quite original, so let's see what it is, and whether we can use it instead of Vertu and the golden loaf.

Price: on BangGood - $199.99 What about our characteristics? The resolution of the display is not FullHD, but for a 4.7" screen it is normal, the main thing here is whether a good matrix is used. The platform is quite typical for smartphones in this price category. They did not skimp on the memory: 3/32 GB is good. Two slots for SIM cards and a memory card are also a typical solution, unfortunately, but not fatal. A 3200 mAh battery for such characteristics - good capacity, autonomy should be decent. However, let's check. Contents of delivery Strict packaging made of thick black cardboard.
At the top is the smartphone itself, and the components are located in a drawer at the bottom. The original approach is a kind of “chest of drawers” style packaging.
The components are placed just like jewelry on velvet - it's nice to see.
Contents: smartphone, power adapter, USB cable- USB-C, wired headset and adapter from Type-C to microUSB, thank you very much for that, it’s a valuable and convenient thing.
Power adapter - 5V-2A.
Appearance and features Well, appearance This, of course, deserves a separate discussion. Aluminum alloy trim on conversational dynamics, leather bottom, polished metal ends with screw heads, leather-wrapped back cover, metal camera cover and rear speakers - the design really makes an impression. What’s interesting is that the design of the Doogee TITANS2 DG700 seemed to be similar in style, but the smartphone then gave the impression of being strangely cheap (however, it cost a penny, let’s face it), and the T3 seems to have a similar design style, but nevertheless the smartphone looks much better ( Well, the materials used in T3 are completely different).

Doogee TITANS2 DG700

And by the way, I like the way the T3 looks better in the version with a brown back cover: it looks more impressive.
What can we say about design? Yes, we were clearly inspired by one of the old Vertu models, namely the Vertu Constellation Touch. But it’s better not to even mess with Vertu without a golden toilet, but here, just save up $200 and do what you want.
The back cover is partially removable, for which you need to carefully slide it down.
Underneath it - removable battery and two slots: for a SIM card and a memory card (or a second SIM card).
At the bottom there is an audio output, a USB-C slot and a microphone.
On the right side there is a power button and a universal customizable button. On the left side there are the same two volume control buttons, strictly symmetrically located.
At the top end there is a second display designed for various reference information(we'll talk about it a little lower).
Well, here is T3 surrounded by Alcatel (TCL) Flash 2 and Huawei P9.
The materials and workmanship are very good. The manufacturer claims that the plate on the back cover is made of titanium, and for finishing back cover The leather used was Chinese dragon from Australian calves. But in general, it looks like it’s really leather, and not artificial leather. This smartphone is hardly suitable for lovely ladies, it looks too brutal, and it’s quite thick, but it’s quite a stylish-looking male version. He definitely attracts attention to himself. Display High-quality display on an IPS matrix. Very good viewing angles, colors are rich and natural, fonts look quite clear, despite the not too high resolution. The brightness margin is good, and I was also pleased that the image remains clearly visible in direct sunlight. Apparently, there is no oleophobic coating here .The second display is located in the upper end, beveled at an angle of 60 degrees. (This makes it more convenient to observe what appears on the display when the smartphone is lying in front of you on the table.) By default, the current time is displayed on it, calls by phone or SMS also appear there, and if the call was not answered, the corresponding icon.

At night, you can put your smartphone nearby on the nightstand and check the time on it.
This display is mainly designed for business people: Receive information about who called or wrote during meetings and meetings when the phone cannot be used. Well, at night this display is also quite useful for any users, even not very business ones. Device operation Android 6.0, some additional utilities and specially designed for this phone The design theme is pretty cool, by the way. The main desktop.

Standard quick switch area.

The screenshot mode here is advanced - a window like this appears with additional features processing.

Applications installed on the system.

Lock window with the option to go to the phone app or Camera app.

Phone application Incoming call.

Talk mode.

Audibility is good, but there is no noise reduction system. I tested the speed of Internet access via mobile communications- Very good.

Access speed via Wi-Fi is normal.

Audio The built-in speaker sounds quite loud, the sound, as usual, is flat, there is no bass at all (and where would they come from). At full volume, no overload or wheezing was detected.

Myst Nail2 armature earphones are very good: the sound is spacious, clear, well-balanced, the highs are quite soft, there is some bass. Really great.

Full-size Plantronics BackBeat Pro headphones in wired mode are good: the sound is spacious, quite clear, good bass, decent highs. Video The smartphone even plays 4K videos with a software decoder, so no problems.

Games The platform is not very powerful, but it can more or less handle 3D games. In Asphalt 8, the game displays low image quality, but it runs quite quickly and without lag.

In tanks everything was spinning around 50-58 FPS. Well, a performance and quality test from Epic Citadel.
Determining coordinates This was not indicated in the specification, but the smartphone works with GLONASS. The cold start was quite long, about three minutes, but after that the determination of coordinates started in a few seconds. The navigation programs worked quite stably and did not fly off the road.

Additional Applications Here, as I already said, there are several specific applications, including developments by Doogee. Backup. You can save everything installed applications to an SD card to quickly restore them if necessary.

DG Security. A very useful application that I would not mind installing on all my smartphones. It allows you to lock any application or service with a password (general or unique). This is very valuable. Unfortunately, this utility is only available on this phone, in Google Play she's not there. (But perhaps there are some analogues, I have not studied yet.)

DG Xender. Application for quick transfer programs and media files over Wi-Fi between different devices.

Document tools. A program for working with all major types of office documents.

Parallel Space. An interesting application that allows you to use two accounts on various social and gaming networks.

Pedometer. A simple program for counting steps, measuring distance, speed and calories burned.

Settings Standard Android settings plus some advanced features.

Second screen settings - which notifications to display on it.

Setting up additional function button. There you can choose which application to call. By the way, I always welcome such things, separate button for the camera (or any other constantly used application) - this is very convenient!

Advanced settings for a wide variety of gestures.

For example, you can take screenshots with a three-finger gesture.

Gestures with movements.

Smart moves.

Gesture actions on the lock window - turn on by double tapping, draw a letter to call the application, and so on.

A QR code detection call is made directly in the settings. But it's not in the Camera app.

The operating mode of the indicator located above the Home button.

Battery.

Additional energy saving wizard.

Mode urgent call with notification of trusted numbers.

On-off. However, this is a standard option.

Camera The camera application interface has its own characteristics.

All settings and options are selected by scrolling the window left and right. To the left are color effects and camera settings.

To the right are shooting modes (and the same settings).

Examples of pictures. (All are clickable.) At home, daylight.

Sunny day.

Text test.

At night photography The camera does not set it to more than ISO 266 - apparently so as not to make “noise”. Well, as a result, night shots turn out to be very dark.
Evening at sunset.
Example video (shot at sunset, when it started to get dark).

How did the camera perform? Focuses, in general, decently, misses quite rarely (especially in normal lighting conditions). It happened that the white balance was slightly off: on two identical frames, the balance could shift towards the yellow side. The camera mostly set the exposure correctly. Decent clarity and saturation, general impression The camera is good for this price category. It takes good video, but I would like more clarity. System parameters and performance CPU-Z data.

Device.

System.

Sensors

Index by AnTuTu. Quite expected for this platform.

Geekbench tests.

Well, the general PCMark index. By the way, quite good for this hardware.

The smartphone has average performance, lags quite rarely, normal office applications they walk on it without any brakes. Battery life The battery here is capacious enough for other characteristics. Here's what happened in the tests. (I always turn off energy saving during tests.) Internet. Brightness set to a comfortable 50%, turned on wireless network, the browser refreshes the page every 30 seconds. A little over 10 hours - very good. Video. Wireless communications are disabled, the player's brightness is set to a comfortable level of 10 (15 in total), and the MK Player plays a video series in a loop. 8 hours 12 minutes. Not bad. PCMark synthetic test - 6 hours 11 minutes. Well, in general, as expected, Alcatel Flash 2 with similar characteristics did approximately the same thing.

The smartphone is charged at 5V-1A, that is fully charged from scratch it takes about 3 hours. The battery capacity according to the device corresponded to the declared one. Observations during operation and conclusions There were no complaints about the operation of the device during the testing period, with the exception of noticeable heating in the camera area when using heavy applications: 3D games and tests. Common applications - browser, video, music, simple games- did not cause heating. What do we have as a result? The smartphone is interesting and has a number of original features, among which, of course, the design and the presence of a second display with notifications stand out. If we do not take these features into account, then according to the existing characteristics, the smartphone should cost somewhere around $150, but it is sold for $200. Well, then everyone decides for himself what he would prefer: buy a faceless “Chinese” for $130-150 and save money, or pay an extra $50 and buy a smartphone, of course, with a distinctive design and a second display, which is also quite useful. The smartphone really looks interesting and unusual, and my compliments to its creators: compared to the Doogee TITANS2 DG700, which looked completely oaky, this is a completely different matter. It's really nice to hold it in your hands. Vertu, by the way, I played with in my hands. It looks cool, but I don’t really understand smartphones that cost many thousands of dollars. And I don’t have a golden toilet - I’m not the target audience.
