Launch Play Market on your smartphone and go to the application page that you want to update. To do this, you can use the search or go along the path "Menu" — "My applications and games" — "Installed".

After logging in, you can use all the functions described above and perform a service software update.

Updates from the application store can be divided into two types:

automatic, conducted by the system and the Play Market itself;
custom made by you personally.

In the first case, if you checked the "auto-update" function in the Market settings, new versions of installed applications will be downloaded and installed by the system automatically. Typically, the update process occurs immediately when you connect a fast Internet connection - Wi-Fi or until the user himself goes to the store.

In order to enable the auto-update function, you need to go to the Play Market, and step by step follow the instructions:

Open the side tab of the Market’s main menu using swipe to the right and go to the “Settings” item.

In the window that opens, first of all, the general settings will be shown, where the "Auto-update" item is located.

You need to configure the option by changing the value to “Always” or “Only via Wi-Fi”.

The item “Always” should be taken with caution, because next time, when connected to the mobile Internet, Google Play will start downloading resource-intensive application updates. Such automatic downloading can lead to the exhaustion of available megabytes of Internet, excess traffic and, therefore, to unnecessary expenses.

Now, having configured the auto-update function, the system immediately after connecting to Wi-Fi will begin to update existing software, including service applications and Google Play Services. If you don’t have the desire or time to install all the available updates, you can give the Market a command to download the new version of Google. To do this, you must install manually:

Enter “Google Services” in the Market Search.

On the application page, click on the "Update" button.

If this function does not exist, and you see only the options “Delete” and “Open”, then you already have the latest version of the service software. In this case, an update is not required.

In new versions of Android, services cannot be found manually - this is the solution of the developer. If you cannot find the software you need, you should use other methods or download special utilities for this in the application store. In the presence of new versions, the system can notify you of this by a corresponding notification in the status bar. When you click on it, you will automatically be transferred to the download page and asked to update.

Installation from a third-party source

This is an extreme case and it is worth contacting if for some reason your standard Play Market does not work properly or the smartphone is left without the Internet, and you could not perform the update through the previous method. You can always solve the problem by downloading the free APK file and installing it. Downloading can also be done through a computer, after which the file should be transferred to the phone via Bluetooth or via a USB cable.

Before you install without the Play Market, you need to pay attention to the source from which you intend to install / update services. Some sites may offer virus APKs, so for security reasons, it’s best to check the installer for threats. After successfully checking and reporting no pests, the installation process can begin.

You cannot install the program if it is forbidden to install applications from unverified sources on your device. To continue, you must:

Go to the settings of your smartphone or tablet.

Go to the “Applications” or “Security” tab.

Check the box next to "Unknown sources."

After that, you can run the APK file without errors. Accept all installation points and wait for the installation process to come to an end. Upon completion, you can see the icon from Google Services in the application menu.

If update failed

If you have any problems with the installer in the Android system or there is an error when receiving data from the server, we suggest that you clear the Google services program.

To do this, you must:

Open application properties in "Settings" - "Applications".

Click on the “Stop” button.

Go to the "Place Management" window.

Select the option “Delete all data”.

After this action, all the information that the program stored for its work will be deleted from the device. To continue using the services, you will need to log in to Google again. Thus, you can recover deleted confidential data.

Also, before installing, check that there is enough internal storage for the update. If there is not enough memory on the device, the installation will fail.
