How to close your Facebook page
Often, Facebook users need to close the page. In some cases, simply making it inaccessible to others is enough, and in some cases, a complete deactivation of the profile is required. How to carry out both of these actions, we will tell in this article.
Deactivating an account
The easiest way to hide from the search and all Facebook friends is to delete the page for a while. To do this, Facebook provides the "Deactivate Account" function. All user information is stored on the server, but the page becomes temporarily unavailable.
To deactivate a profile, go to the profile settings and go to the "Security" tab. Here you will see the inscription "Deactivate account", which you need to click on to close the page.
The system will first ask you to indicate the reason for deactivation, and then confirm your decision by entering a password and going through the "Security check" (two code words). Once these steps are completed, your profile will be blocked and removed from Search. You can return to Facebook at any time by simply entering the e-mail and password specified during registration.
We close the page from prying eyes
A slightly more troublesome, but no less effective way to close your account is to limit the circle of people who will have access to your page. In this case, we are talking about privacy settings. By the way, this topic has always been acute on Facebook, so the developers of the social network are very carefully working through all the settings.
So, Privacy Settings is the main tool in restricting access to your account. "Available to all" means that the page will be available to absolutely all Facebook users. By changing "Available to all" to "Only me", you prevent network users from seeing your new publications and, roughly speaking, close the page. At the same time, general information about you (name, gender, age, place of study) remains open.
Another tool is the so-called audience switcher. It is located at the top of every post published on the wall.
By choosing between "Public", "Friends" and "Only Me", you determine the audience that will see the published post. If you click User Settings, you can also select individual users who will not be allowed to post.
Photo albums for the elite
Sometimes users have a desire to close photos or entire albums from certain individuals. If you publish photos on the wall, then it is enough to use the same audience switcher. If you fill out an album, then you can set up a list of users who can see the photos posted in it. Moreover, you can create an album hidden from everyone, where you will, for example, upload archival pictures. You can do this in the following way:
- Go to the "Photos" section;
- Select the "Albums" tab;
- Under the album cover, click on the lock icon and select "Only me".
In just 3 steps, you will completely restrict access to the album and only you will be able to admire the photos posted in it.
So, closing a Facebook profile is a matter of a few minutes. You can hide the page completely or simply limit the circle of people to whom it will be available. In any case, be sure to consider whether it is worth doing or not.
