How to block VKontakte on a computer. How to block access to VKontakte

Parents who care about what their children are doing are worried when their child logs into the VKontakte social network. Because looking at stupid pictures takes up a lot of time and is unlikely to contribute to the full development of the individual.

Why block VK

During this period, the best activities for teenagers will be physical activity, reading books, and communicating with friends.

The World Health Organization believes that a school-age child should move at least 60 minutes a day. For example, an hour of active basketball or cycling is the minimum physical activity for a growing body. Two hours of walking at a brisk pace or spending helping to clean the apartment will also provide the necessary load.

It is at this age that reading good books will enrich the vocabulary, inspire, teach and broaden the horizons of a young person. Therefore, it is worth limiting access to VK right now. Moreover, it is not difficult to do.

How to block VKontakte access on a computer

We can block VKontakte using system file hosts, which is along this path C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc.

Everyone remembers that Vedomosti and VKontakte have recently disliked each other, and today, when "In Turkey you can take a break from VKontakte", it became clear that this would not end well (writing a social network ok).

We really don’t care who is blocked and where (the main thing is that China is not allowed on Facebook, that is, a billion Chinese cannot yet dump on the SMM market), but the very development of history and the fact-checking of respected publications is interesting.

The very first paragraph

Over the past few days, Internet users in Turkey have been unable to access the VKontakte social network. “The VKontakte system has stopped responding in Turkey,” complains a Turkish News user in this community social network Turkish Love. “As I understand it, the Turkish government, by court order, prohibited users from making contact,” MaryKate, registered on the Mail.ru portal, answers him.

It is quite typical that Google request publishes only the Vedomosti newspaper. There is some kind of Turkish-Love forum, but I couldn’t find anything on the topic there. Informant Mary Kate from the Mail.ru portal? Do not make me laugh.

By personal experience- in some hotels/cafes in Istanbul, VKontakte was blocked almost always (a year or two or six months ago exactly). That is, some local providers block access to the social network for some personal reasons.

Obviously, based on one screenshot and Mary Kate from the Mail.ru portal normal person will not be able to conclude "For the last few days, Internet users in Turkey have been unable to access the social network VKontakte"

There are even more easy way check your guesses:

  • Armenia

Total 391,285 people
Online 3,880 people (0.99%)

  • Azerbaijan

Total 488,257 people
Online 5,275 people (1.08%)

  • Türkiye

Total 199,560 people
Online 1,858 people (0.93%)

There is a similar picture of total/online ratios in about twenty-five other countries (except Russia/Ukraine). When can we expect the article in Vedomosti “VKontakte is unblocked in Turkey”? Or “VKonakte is blocked in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Albania, Argentina...”?

Meanwhile, Ksenia Boletskaya, an employee of Vedomosti, lashed out at press secretary No. 1, calling his behavior in this situation an epic fail.

IN comments from Yuri Sinodov, deputy editor-in-chief of the site Roem.ru users unsubscribe that they a) are now in Turkey and b) everything is fine with them

Get comments from the regulator information technologies and Turkey failed to communicate; representatives of VKontakte did not respond behind Vedomosti questions.

It’s quite strange to see articles of this level in a respected publication like Vedomosti. A stable 1% total/online ratio in most countries except Russia/Ukraine should have given the journalist some thoughts? Or is the opinion of professional Mary Kate from the Mail.ru portal more important than logic and numbers?

The story has already become overgrown with dirty details and comments. Who picks up and doesn't pick up the phone can be read.

VKontakte has long been developing a system that will independently calculate prohibited content. The social network has always had rules prohibiting the posting of certain types of information, but controlling this has become especially important, given latest laws about extremism and prison terms for likes and reposts, as well as the situation with “death groups”.

On May 24, VKontakte began using a unique algorithm that will find prohibited materials - photographs, inscriptions, hashtags. This will help identify extremist, suicidal posts, pornography and other illegal content.

VKontakte - prohibition in the Terms of Use

Most users check the box next to agreeing to the Terms of Use without even delving into their meaning. But in fact, there are many subtleties and points, and if you do not adhere to them, the consequences can be quite serious. This is especially true for residents of Russia, where laws on “likes and reposts” are currently in force.

Not only the social network VKontakte itself can block and regulate the activities of users. Many laws at the state level prohibit speech about certain things. This applies to both public statements (posts on the “wall” or in groups) and correspondence with other users. Despite the fact that many owners own page VK consider personal correspondence inviolable; it belongs to the VKontakte company and can be given to law enforcement officers.

  • Distribution of narcotic substances.
  • Calls to suicide, stories about methods of suicide.
  • Materials containing child pornography (texts, photographs, drawings).
  • Appeals, texts, photos of inhumane treatment of animals.
  • Propaganda or incitement of racial, religious, ethnic hatred.
  • Materials that contain state or commercial secrets.
  • Calls for mass riots (revolutions, rallies, protests).
  • Public insults, threats from other people, officials, judges.
  • Distribution of illegal services.
  • Making false statements about other people.

In addition, there are many more “don’ts” that are described in the agreement. Many points are violated because users do not consider this a ban. For example, this applies to indicating an incorrect age or place of work on your page, talking about personal relationships with other people, even in personal correspondence.

Algorithm for identifying dangerous and illegal content

Previously, most fakes, groups or pages that contained prohibited content were blocked at the “tip” of concerned users themselves. VKontakte programs rarely detected such materials on their own.

But recently a new neural network was developed. The main task of this algorithm is to identify dangerous content that is prohibited by law and the User Agreement.

The neural network will analyze and scan images and objects in them. If there is illegal material there, it is first excluded from search results and then blocked.

All materials will be assigned a hazard class. The very first one will automatically delete the image and block the user who published it. There are also “moderately dangerous” ones, which are sent for additional testing to administrators. They will find out whether the entry should be deleted.

The need for such an algorithm is associated with the activities of the Blue Whale group, which encourages children and adolescents to commit suicide. In Russia, this situation is already on a critical scale - more than 130 children have already died.

A separate scenario has been developed specifically to eliminate “death groups.” The program recognizes symbols and pictures that were previously used as calls for suicide. If a user posts such an image, the neural network will see it, the post will be blocked, and administrators will find out why and for what purpose it was done.

The network will also shape and make more perfect news feed user. A similar feature was already introduced last year, but now it's getting even better. Now the feed will show popular posts, posts from friends and messages from different groups. The owner of the page will be able to choose the order in which all news will appear.

The functions and benefits of the neural network will be expanded to make VKontakte as convenient and useful as possible for every person.

Prohibited content on VKontakte: new products for identifying dangerous posts was last modified: March 31st, 2017 by admin

Back in June, a special Ministry in Ukraine in Kyiv seized VK equipment worth $500,000. These VKontakte servers exclusively stored copies of video and audio materials. Technically, there could not be any documents there. However, the pretext was more than stupid: these servers could have stored some financial documents of a company that evades paying taxes in Ukraine.

So, last night it became known that the Ukrainian Ministry of Revenue and Duties, instead of the planned actions, detected prohibited videos on VKontakte servers, in particular child pornography. In connection with this, criminal proceedings were opened. So, on the tenth, a comprehensive examination was carried out, which allegedly discovered that more than two hundred and fifty files contained prohibited content. A special examination found that these files appeared on the servers since the end of last year. And in just 12 days, they were viewed by 31 million users of the social network (despite the fact that there are 49 million people in Ukraine in general).

Looking to the root with Pavel Durov

A prohibited video on the social network VKontakte is a topic that only the laziest would not raise. How does this explain the whole situation? CEO social network Pavel Durov? Yesterday, a very interesting message appeared on his VKontakte wall, through which he explains the current situation.

Pavel Durov says that even at first the story seemed very vague. If only videos and videos are posted on the servers, then how can Ukrainian law enforcement agencies Did you want to find documents of some company there that evades taxes? The whole story, as Pavel Durov himself says, received an even more mysterious development. Which one you already know, but all these statements from Ukrainian law enforcement officers have nothing to do with reality, for three simple reasons:

  1. It is even technically impossible to calculate exactly how many unique visitors watched the prohibited video! The address of each video recording is encrypted, depending on the user's IP address. People from the Ministry of Revenue of Ukraine, purely theoretically, could not calculate the number of people who watched certain videos. Having made this conclusion (quite justified), Pavel Durov accused Ukrainian law enforcement officers of deliberately making false statements.
  2. Further, Pavel Durov says that the entire monthly audience of the entire video section of the social network (and this video section is hosted on hundreds (!) of different servers) is about 25,000,000 users. However, Ukrainian officials claim that allegedly prohibited materials were viewed by 31,000,000 people from just a dozen servers, and in just twelve days. It is already clear that these figures are not just made up, but are very inflated and exceed any theoretically possible norms. In other words: this is also unrealistic!
  3. A prohibited video on VKontakte is immediately deleted by the administration of the social network, this is no secret to anyone. Even if they continue to be stored for several days on special caching servers, they are inaccessible at this time ordinary users. This point alone proves that the report of min. officials. income of Ukraine, that they managed to find a banned VKontakte video has nothing to do with reality.
As a result, the CEO of the social network VK says that this situation is not unique. As soon as this story began, several entrepreneurs and hosting providers from Ukraine contacted Pavel. Unfortunately, they also faced raider takeovers and the seizure of expensive equipment. The prepositions were also clearly made up. In conclusion, Pavel Durov sincerely wishes the residents of the neighboring country to safely survive this difficult period for Ukraine.
