How to start Safe Mode in Windows

How to start Safe Mode in macOS

Hold down the Shift key immediately after turning on or restarting your computer until you see the login window.

The above method is valid only if only one OS is installed on the PC. Otherwise, in order to launch Safe Mode, you will need to press F8 twice. Second way to start Safe Mode
This method can be used with already loaded Windows 7. It consists of performing the following steps:

1. First turn on your computer and immediately press the small F8 button several times. As a result, a menu should appear. When working with some computers, you can use other keys or combinations (for example, shift + F8). This is important: when the display has gone out or the user sees the Windows inscription, it means that not everything worked out for him. In this case, it is worth waiting for the system to boot, and after restarting your computer, try again.
2. If the user succeeds, a menu will appear. Using the arrows, the user can easily select the desired mode. If he does not know what exactly he needs, he should stop at "Safe Mode" , since this option is considered universal. Having selected the required option with the arrows, the user must confirm his choice with the Enter key.
As a result of such actions, the computer will restart in safe mode.
But you need to keep in mind that the given algorithm of actions will not start Safe Mode in Windows 10, because the developers have disabled this option.

What if SafeMode won't start?
What if your PC does not want to turn on in Safe Mode under no circumstances?
The answer is quite simple: your PC has a lot of viruses and, as a result, the operating system registry has been damaged.

If your computer won't boot into Safe Mode

Update 1: if SafeBootKeyRepair utility is not available then you can try this one. Download and unpack, in the reg archive, the file with the default values of the registry keys to ensure the correct start of safe mode. Double click on the file to set these defaults.
Update 2: If the previous methods of restoring the computer to boot in Safe Mode did not help you, then try the following. Download and install. Launch, in the main window, click on the Preferences button, then on the Repairs tab, select Repair broken SafeBoot key from the list, and then click on the Perform Repair ... button.
