How to insert a cartridge into a Brother printer

This Japanese manufacturer uses a two-component design, which consists of a photodrum unit (drum unit) and a toner container. Depending on which part’s life is coming to an end, the Toner or Drum indicator on the panel begins to blink.

Non-original consumables have fewer resources. You can safely reduce the capacity of a non-original consumable by 15-20 percent and get the approximate number of pages for which it is enough. But do not forget that each individual cartridge and toner is unique; there are cases when non-original spare parts last even longer, although this happens much less often.

Chip cartridges have software that can artificially limit their functionality to protect against refilling. The chip counts the number of pages printed and keeps track of the ink used.
