Ukrtelecom instructions for connecting Wi-Fi. Setting up the ZXHN H108N WiFi modem from the Ukrtelecom provider

In addition to fixed-line services, the operator Ukrtelecom (OGO) provides its customers with Internet access services. Most often, to ensure connectivity, customers are provided with ZTE ZXV10 H108L and Huawei Hg532E ADSL modems. The company's specialists perform the initial setup of devices, including organizing a home WiFi network. If you need to change your password or change other settings, you must order a paid service from the support service or do it yourself.

When setting up a modem, Ukrtelecom specialists set a password at their own discretion or organize password-free access to the network via WiFi. Many people believe that protecting their home network is not important because they do not have valuable information on their computer. However, the following points should be taken into account:

  • If the password is not set or it becomes known to all neighbors, they can easily connect to your network. As a result, the Internet channel will be clogged with third-party traffic, which will reduce the speed of your access and cause “lags” when playing online games, watching videos, etc.
  • Outsiders connected to your network may distribute prohibited information or engage in fraudulent activities. As a result, law enforcement officers will come to your address and you will have to, at a minimum, give an explanation.
  • If you forget your WiFi password, you won't be able to connect new devices to it. In this case, you will have to change the WiFi network password on your Huawei Hg532E, or ZTE ZXV10 H108L modem.

If in the latter case there are ways, then in the first two only replacing the password with a new and reliable one will help.

Changing the Wi-Fi network password on modems from Ukrtelecom

To change your password you will need a computer, tablet or smartphone. You must be connected to the modem via Wi-Fi, or via cable (LAN).

Launch your browser and enter the IP address in the address bar 192.168.1.1 . An authorization window will open in which you must enter the login "admin" and the current password set to protect the device. Router manufacturers set the default password to "admin" or "1234". Information about it is available in the instructions for the device. If the default password is changed to a new one, it may be written on the back of the modem. The default login is most often used "admin" and password "admin".

This is how you enter settings Huawei Hg532E:

And in the same way we go to settings ZTE ZXV10 H108L. If you have this modem.

If you do not remember the password and cannot log in to the modem settings page, you will have to perform a full reset to factory settings. However, please note that along with the access password, your Internet connection settings will also be reset. You will have to call a technician or enter the connection parameters yourself and reconfigure the modem from Ukrtelecom.

Let's take a closer look at how to change the password on each modem.

Changing WiFi password on Huawei Hg532E

In the Huawei modem settings, you need to open the “Basic” and “WLAN” sections.

  • In the SSID field you can change the name of the Wi-Fi network.
  • In the "WPA pre-shared key" field we change the password for our Wi-Fi network.

It looks like this:

Enter a new password (English letters and numbers, minimum 8 characters) and to apply the settings, click the "Submit" button. Reboot your modem.

How to change the WiFi network password on the ZTE ZXV10 H108L modem?

After logging into the control panel, go to the “WLAN” – “Security” tab.

In the "WPA Passphrase" field (WPA Password (depending on modem model and firmware)) enter a new password to access the WiFi network.

Save the changes by clicking on the "Submit" button. You also need to reboot the modem.

At this point, setting up the password is complete and you can use the Internet access channel from Ukrtelecom with all your devices that have a WiFi interface. You just need to connect to WiFi with a new password.

If there are connection problems after changing the password

If you only changed the password, without changing the network name (SSID), you may experience problems connecting to the wireless network on different devices. On computers, this is the error "The network settings saved on this computer do not meet the requirements of this network." I wrote about the solution to this error as part of the article: . In short, you need to delete the Wi-Fi network on your computer and connect to it with a new password. In separate articles I have already written about both and in Windows 7.

On mobile devices (Android, iOS), you just need to open the properties of the wireless network, or click on the network and hold. Select "delete network" from the menu.

Ukrtelecom is the largest telecommunications company in Ukraine. Internet connection through this provider is made using ADSL, VDSL or FTTB. Tariffs for services differ depending on the locality, type of premises (apartment or private house) and the operating technology used.

Connecting Ukrtelecom via ADSL

The use of this outdated connection method is due to the fact that the provider has a wide base of landline telephony users. If your apartment has a home telephone from Ukrtelecom, you will not need to install a new cable to connect the Internet via ADSL to the room. The connection is made via a telephone cable; additional equipment you will need is a modem and a splitter (ADSL filter), which is usually included in the package.

Unlike Dial-Up, the phone line does not become busy when accessing the Internet. You can make calls on your home phone and access the network at the same time. The provider does not indicate the maximum speed for receiving information via ADSL; the only limitation on its part is due to the capabilities of the telephone line.

But it should be borne in mind that even with ideal operating parameters of the network equipment, the download speed will not exceed 24 Mbit/s - the maximum limit of ADSL2+ technology. The sending speed will be even slower. It is limited by the Internet provider at 3 Mbps. Working with such a bandwidth can cause discomfort for active Internet users.

Note! In some localities, a connection using VDSL (Very-high data rate Digital Subscriber Line) technology is also available. The maximum throughput in VDSL tariff plans is 50 Mbit/s.

If several home devices will connect to the Internet at the same time, use an ADSL router instead of a modem. Ukrtelecom offers to rent a device with the right to later purchase it at a promotional price. The monthly payment for equipment will be 1 UAH. At the end of the agreement (24 months), you will be able to buy a rented router for 2 UAH. In case of early termination of the contract, you will need to pay a fine.

When a Wi-Fi router has been purchased and the service has been activated in your personal account on the provider’s website, you can begin installing and connecting the equipment. First of all, choose a location for the device. It is recommended to install the router at an equal distance from all rooms in which you will use the Internet. The ideal installation would be in the central room of the apartment, at a considerable height above the floor level. For example, the router can be placed on a cabinet or hung above a doorway.

After this, connect the device to the telephone cable via a splitter. Insert the connector at the end of the cable into the “Line” port on the ADSL filter. On the other side of the device there are two connectors: “Phone” and “Modem”. Insert the cord from your landline phone into the first port, and the cable connector from the router into the second. If the phone is not used, you can connect the router directly to the telephone cable laid into the apartment. Insert cord connectors from local network devices (computers, laptops, Smart TV) into the “LAN” ports.

Optical Internet from Ukrtelecom

Despite the name of the service, optical fiber is not carried to the subscriber’s apartment. Instead, FTTB technology is used, in which optics connect apartment buildings. Equipment located in the technical rooms of the entrances converts the signal, and a twisted pair (UTP) cable is laid into each user’s room. The bandwidth of the channel depends on the selected tariff plan. At the moment, Ukrtelecom offers connections at speeds of 20, 50 and 100 Mbit/s.

During the first 90 days, use of the service is paid at the rate of 1 UAH for each month. To clarify the availability of this technology in your home, contact the Ukrtelecom hotline at 0 800 506 800. Calls to this number are free from landline phones. You can also leave a request on the company’s official website. The specialist will check the possibility of connection at the specified address and notify you of the result of the work.

Advice! It is recommended to use FTTB if both connection technologies are available at your address. Based on the ratio of monthly subscription fee and bandwidth, “Fiber to the building” from Ukrtelecom is more profitable than ADSL.

A Wi-Fi router for connecting Ukrtelecom via FTTB must have a different standard. Unlike an ADSL router, it does not have a built-in modem, and the Internet cable input is in Ethernet format. The port looks the same as the “LAN” connectors that RJ-45 connectors connect to. The “Wi-Fi router for 1 UAH” promotion does not apply to equipment for connecting using this technology. You will have to buy it yourself, at full price.

To connect to the Internet through this device, insert the plug of the UTP cable provided by your provider into the “Internet” port. On some models of network equipment, it may also be designated by the word “WAN” (Wide Area Network or Global Computer Network). Just like on an ADSL router, home devices are connected to the “LAN” connectors. Connect all cables and turn on your Wi-Fi router.

Setting up an Internet connection

You can configure the network via cable or Wi-Fi. To establish a wireless connection, you need to know the network name and default password. This data is located on the router itself or on the box from it. Turn the device over, then check for the information sticker on the bottom panel. If there is no sticker, try to find the SSID and password on the original packaging of the router. You can also find the necessary data on the manufacturer's website.

Open any web browsing program. You can use Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera or another browser. In the address bar, enter the standard IP of the router. You can find it in the same place where the SSID is indicated. Navigate to the typed address by pressing the “Enter” button. If you enter the IP address correctly in the browser, the login page for the control panel of your Wi-Fi router will open. Enter your login and password for the router's web interface, then click the button to log in.

When logging into the control panel of a router that has already been used by another subscriber, the standard data may not be suitable. If you are unable to confirm the new password with the person who previously set up the router, reset it. To restore factory settings, hold the “Reset” button on the back of the device for 10-15 seconds. After this, try logging into the web interface again.

Open the tab containing the network settings on your router. Typically it is called "Connection", "Network" or "WAN". Use the manufacturer's instructions if you cannot find the menu you need. To establish an Internet connection, specify the following settings:

  • Connection type - PPPoE;
  • VPI (virtual route identifier) - 1;
  • VCI (logical link identifier) - 32;
  • Username - format login [email protected] specified in the agreement with Ukrtelecom;
  • Password — password from the contract.

Important! The settings will take effect only after rebooting the Wi-Fi router. Use the corresponding item in the system menu of the web interface or the button on the device itself to reboot it.

Setting up a wireless network

The default Wi-Fi settings do not always provide high performance and security for your wireless network. Go to the Wi-Fi settings section on your router. The options available to change through this menu vary depending on the manufacturer and model of the network device. The main settings include:

  1. Network name/SSID - the name of the Wi-Fi to search for the network when connecting;
  2. Region—the country in which the radio module operates (the parameter limits the radio frequencies used in accordance with local legislation);
  3. Channel - a segment of the range in which wireless broadcasting is carried out (it is recommended to set the automatic selection);
  4. Mode – operating standard according to IEEE 802.11;
  5. Protection type - Wi-Fi security algorithm (it is better to connect the more reliable WPA/WPA2 instead of WEP);
  6. Encryption - method of protecting transmitted data (preferred value: AES);
  7. Password—the key to access the Wi-Fi network.

It is advisable to set a long password consisting of different types of characters. Otherwise, an attacker will be able to gain access to the Internet and your local network by brute-forcing passwords using a dictionary. Additional options include the ability to hide the SSID. This feature does not provide any particular security benefits, but has been used successfully to limit public access to the network name.

Many Internet users who access the network using the Ukrtelecom provider are faced with the fact that they need to set up a modem that is offered on sale. We are talking about an ADSL modem of the ZTE ZXV10 H108L brand, which Ukrtelecom technical support employees often call “white, with daisies.”

Modem Ogo Ukrtelecom

Many users say that they cannot connect to this device via WiFi, and this does not depend at all on the choice of wireless connection parameters. Accordingly, in this article you can find a solution to this difficult problem when any devices working with WiFi cannot connect to the modem.

You can find information online that the reason lies in one of the company’s services. At one time, the provider tested a service called “Managed Modem”. This venture was not successful, as a result of which many users experienced certain connection problems.

To solve this problem, you do not need any special skills in working with modems. First of all, you need to log in to the device control panel. To do this, launch one of the browsers installed on the computer (for example, Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer), and enter the following address in the appropriate line: 192.168.1.1, then press the Enter key.

We will see a page where you need to enter your username or Login and password (Password). In both cases, enter the word admin. Click the enter button, that is, Login. If you have entered your username and password correctly, the modem control panel will appear in your browser.

It is very important to disconnect the telephone cord from the device before proceeding further.

Select the tab called Administration and in the left menu select the System Management line, then click the button labeled Restore defaults.

How to set up a Ukrtelecom modem?

The second step in setting up wireless data is as follows. After the device reboots, you must open the Administration tab again, select TR-069 and enter the following values in the appropriate fields:

ACS URL: https://localhost

Username: loose

Password: 12345678

Then click the Submit button.

After this, you need to wait until the new modem settings take effect and connect the cable. In addition, you need to re-enter your login and password for the ADSL connection.

Ukrtelecom is one of the largest Internet providers in Ukraine. On the Internet you can find many conflicting reviews about his work. But due to the fact that at one time this provider inherited the Soviet telephone network infrastructure, for many small settlements it is still practically the only provider of wired Internet. Therefore, the issue of connecting and setting up modems from Ukrtelecom does not lose its relevance.

The provider Ukrtelecom provides Internet connection service via telephone line using ADSL technology. Currently, he recommends using the following modem models:

All listed equipment models have been certified in Ukraine and approved for use on Ukrtelecom subscriber lines. They have approximately the same characteristics. The provider also provides the same parameters for setting up Internet access. Differences in configuration for different device models are due only to differences in their web interfaces. Let's look at the procedure for setting up each modem in more detail.

Huawei-HG532e

This model can be most often found among Ukrtelecom subscribers. This is not least due to the fact that this modem was actively distributed by the provider during various promotions to attract customers. And currently the operator provides each new client with the opportunity to rent Huawei-HG532e for a nominal fee of 1 UAH per month.

The modem is prepared for operation in a standard manner for such devices. First you need to choose a place for its location, then connect it to the telephone line via the ADSL connector, and through one of the LAN ports to the computer. You need to disable the firewall on your computer and check the TCP/IPv4 settings.

Having connected the modem, you need to connect to its web interface by entering the address 192.168.1.1 in the browser and logging in, specifying the word admin as the login and password. After this, the user will be immediately prompted to set parameters for the Wi-Fi connection. You need to come up with a name for your network, a password and click on the button "Next".

If you wish, you can go to the advanced wireless network settings page using the link "Here" at the bottom of the window. There you can select the channel number, encryption type, enable filtering of Wi-Fi access by MAC address and change some other parameters that it is better for an inexperienced user not to touch.

Having figured out the wireless network, the user is taken to the main menu of the modem’s web interface.

To set up a connection to the global network, you need to go to the section "Basic" submenu "WAN".
The user's further actions depend on what type of connection is assigned to him by the provider. There may be two options:

  • DCHCP (IPoE);
  • PPPoE.

By default, the Huawei-HG532e modem is provided by Ukrtelecom with DHCP settings already specified. Therefore, the user only has to make sure that the parameters are set correctly. You need to check the values of only three positions:

  1. VPI/VCI — 1/40.
  2. Connection type- IPoE.
  3. Address type- DHCP.

Thus, if we assume the situation that the user is not going to distribute Wi-Fi, he does not need to make any modem settings at all. It is enough to connect it to your computer and telephone network and turn on the power to establish a connection to the Internet. And the wireless network function can simply be turned off by pressing the WLAN button on the side of the device.

The PPPoE connection is currently used less and less by Ukrtelecom. Those users whose contract specifies this type must enter the following parameters on the Internet connection settings page:

  • VPI/VCI — 1/32;
  • Connection type- PPPoE;
  • Username, Password- according to registration data with the provider.

The remaining fields must be left unchanged. Settings are saved after pressing the button "Submit" at the bottom of the page, after which the modem needs to be rebooted.

ZXHN H108N and TP-Link TD-W8901N

Despite the fact that these modems are from different manufacturers and are very different in appearance, they have the same web interface (except for the logo at the top of the page). Accordingly, the setup of both devices does not have any differences.

Before you start setting up the modem, you need to prepare it for operation. This is done in exactly the same way as described in the previous section. The parameters for connecting to the device’s web interface are no different from Huawei. By typing 192.168.1.1 in the browser and logging in, the user is taken to its main menu.

And this is how it will look in the case of the TP-Link TD-W8901N modem:

To further configure, you need to do the following:

  1. Go to section "Interface Setup" to the tab "Internet".
  2. Set global network parameters:
    • If the connection type is DHCP:
      PVC: 0
      Status: Activated
      VPI: 1
      VCI: 40
      IP Version: IPv4
      ISP: Dynamic IP Address
      Encapsulation: 1483 Bridget IP LLC
      Default Route: Yes
      NAT: Enable
      Dynamic Route: RIP2-B
      Multicast: IGMP v2
    • If the connection type is PPPoE:
      PVC 0
      Status: Activated
      VPI: 1
      VCI: 32
      IP Version: IPv4
      ISP: PPPoA/PPPoE
      User name: login according to the agreement with the provider (format: [email protected])
      Password: password according to the agreement
      Encapsulation: PPPoE LLC
      Connection: Always On
      Default Route: Yes
      Get IP Address: Dynamic
      NAT: Enable
      Dynamic Route: RIP2-B
      Multicast: IGMP v2
  3. Save changes by clicking on "Save" at the bottom of the page.

After this, you can proceed to the wireless network settings. This is done in the same section, but on the tab "Wireless". There are a lot of settings there, but you only need to pay attention to two parameters, replacing the default values there:

Having saved all the changes made, the modem needs to be rebooted. This is done in a separate section of the web interface. The entire sequence of actions is presented in the screenshot:

This completes the modem setup procedure.

ZTE ZXV10 H108L

By default, the ZTE ZXV10 H108L modem comes with ready-made Internet connection settings of the PPPoE type. After all the preparatory work has been completed, the provider recommends turning on the power to the device and waiting up to three minutes. After the modem starts up, you just need to run the quick installation of settings from the installation disk that comes with the modem. The installation wizard will launch and prompt you to enter your username and password. But if you need to configure it using the DHCP type, the procedure is as follows:

Setting up a wireless connection in ZTE ZXV10 H108L is done as follows:

After completing all settings, the modem must be rebooted. This is done on the tab "Administration" In chapter "System Management".

This completes the setup.

This is how modems are configured for the Ukrtelecom provider. The list given here does not mean that no other devices will be able to work with Ukrtelecom. Knowing the key connection parameters, you can configure almost any DSL modem to work with this operator. However, it should be taken into account that the provider officially declares that it does not provide any guarantees regarding the quality of the service provided when using devices not included in the list of recommended ones.

I received this modem from a client who bought himself a new one to replace this old one, but it was quite working. For a long time I thought about where to mount it and decided to set it to bridge mode. I will now explain to you how to do this and what is needed for this.

First, you need to download the firmware from MTS, since the standard version cannot enable bridge mode. I think it won’t be difficult for you to do this and I won’t describe it.

Download [ HG532e MTS Russian firmware] 3.5 mb

After flashing the firmware, go to the LAN settings and change the ip to 192.168.1.2 if this is your 2nd router or modem on your network. In my case, it is my 3rd.

Now select SSID2 from the drop-down list. I called it config, through which we will configure the modem. We give him the password and click “OK”.

Now go to “Advanced” and “Snap to Bridge”. Give the group a name and tick everything as in the picture. Now I will explain what this means.

We did not mark LAN1 as it will be used to connect to another router.

We marked LAN2, LAN3, LAN4 and this means that these interfaces will be used in bridge mode and you can connect a PC to them and have Internet on it.

We noted SSID1 (MKONNE!) because it is our main Wi-fi. There will be Internet on it, but we will not be able to go into the modem settings if we want to change something there (for example, the Wi-fi password)

SSID2 (config) was not noted because we do not need Internet there. We will connect to it to change the settings in the modem itself, since this will not be possible through the main one.

SSID3 and 4 are not used.

Now our modem seems to be gone, DHCP will be picked up from the main router, to which it must be connected via cable.
