Is iPhone 6 Plus convenient?

1. I used the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus for quite a long time, and this is what I want to say about the operating time - indeed, the phablet lasts longer. And this is clearly noticeable in everyday activities, especially if you don’t sit at home or in the office with a laptop, but run to meetings, use navigation, a browser, talk, in general, conduct active image life. In about four hours, the iPhone 6 is discharged to twenty percent, the iPhone 6 Plus lasts forty percent, the result is excellent. In general, in some ways the 6 Plus reminded me of the iPhone 4; after the updates, it also worked for quite a long time, and you could still laugh at the owners of smartphones on Android based. Now it’s too late to laugh, we are all in the same conditions, with a bunch of external batteries, cables, power supplies at work and at home.

2. Is it of great benefit that some iPhone apps Does the 6 Plus behave the same as the iPad when you rotate the screen? For example, in mail there is a column of headings, next to a screen with the body of the letter, the same display for messages. In my opinion this is very good. But I would like to see the same behavior for the iPhone 6 - and why not? The screen here is not much smaller.

3. I can’t resist the temptation to get on my favorite skate; one of the best accessories for the iPhone 6/6 Plus was announced the other day, called the Twelve South SurfacePad. Not yet available for sale, in the US it will cost 39 and 49 dollars respectively. This is a leather cover, four colors: white, black, beige and red. I note that this is natural, not eco-leather, no deception. I really like this model for the iPad, it adds virtually no size, looks great, and protects the back and screen. This is an excellent option for the iPhone 6 Plus; I do not advise you to use bumpers or regular cases in conjunction with the device, as the already healthy device becomes simply huge. By the way, the SurfacePad flip has two compartments for plastic cards.

4. Size matters—both positive and negative. I can't remember how many times I dropped the 6 Plus in a month of use. And it’s all just because of the size. You pull it out of your pocket and at the last moment you don’t have time to intercept it - you fall. When you take it off the shelf in the morning, you don’t have time to catch it and it falls. My iPhone 6 Plus fell on different surfaces, fortunately, it only fell at home; on the street it once flew across the asphalt, but was saved by the original case. By the way, over the course of a month, this same case suffered greatly, scuffs and scratches appeared - it’s easier to throw it away than to use it further. But he played his role. As for the 6 Plus, don’t let various alarmists scare you, it’s quite difficult to break the glass; as a result of all the flights, the glass came off a little at the bottom left; when pressed, a click is heard. I think the service department will quickly deal with this, you just need to put the latch in place. In short, the device can withstand normal flights around the apartment just fine. Of course, this does not apply to particularly unfortunate cases if it falls face down on a stone. And then, everything greatly depends on the height and angle of inclination.

5. I couldn't bend my iPhone 6 Plus. Although I carried it in my back pocket - if it is in the front pocket, it is difficult to lift my leg when climbing stairs, the smartphone gets in the way. It’s funny, in the past it was difficult for bad dancers to understand that now anyone can be hindered by a smartphone while walking. So, place iPhone 6 Plus is a jacket pocket, a bag pocket, a back pocket in jeans. But before you sit down, you should take it out. You never know. In general, HUGE SCARY PROBLEMS WITH IPHONE traditionally arise every year, sweep through the information field like a bomber, and the bomb hits every head. You come with 6 Plus to a group of friends, and there will definitely be one - a poisonous grin and a question from the series: “Haven't you bent it yet?”

No, I didn't bend it.

6. This is one of the main advantages of the iPhone 6 Plus for me personally. I took it with me on a flight, one device replaced a smartphone and a tablet, and watched movies all the way to New York. I can’t say that my eyes hurt or I had to squint, no, it’s quite normal for not very spectacular films or TV series. The only pity is that back then there was no case with a stand; you had to hold the device in your hands or lean it against the seat in front. I note that together with the Bose QC25 it turned out to be an excellent set for traveling.

7. Now is the time to buy an iPhone 6 Plus in Russia, prices are lower than in the USA and Europe. I'll give you a little advice right away. A very stupid thing to do is to buy such a smartphone with 16 GB memory. There’s a big screen right there, you’ll probably want to watch videos, play a lot of programs, play games, and so on. So expect at least 64 GB of memory. Here it costs 41,990 rubles, but in the USA it costs approximately $849, this is the price without state tax. Then calculate for yourself at the current exchange rate. My point is that you don’t have to think about any friends who will go somewhere and bring it back cheaper - we have the cheapest prices now.

8. It is unlikely that Apple will repeat its bold experiment with the iPhone 5C - the stupid plastic device is only now, with a reduction in price, becoming popular in a number of countries. But an experiment called the iPhone 6 Plus unexpectedly turned out to be successful, many laughed and said that the Apple phablet would gather dust on the shelves, but in fact, the smartphone is not so easy to find in the store. I remember Munich very well, we stood next to the queue when the store opened and sales began. A couple of minutes later, store employees announced that 6 Plus had been sold out! The best evidence of success. By the way, if you decide to buy, I highly recommend looking at the silver device. I already regret that I took dark gray for the test, it’s a bit boring.

9. I know for sure that the iPhone 6 Plus takes better photos than the iPhone 6 - and it’s not entirely about quality. A larger smartphone focuses faster and is ready for the first shot faster. Maybe it seems to me. Or maybe not. But when shooting on an iPhone 6, I almost always do two or three takes. Just in case, to avoid a blurry frame. Well, for the iPhone 6 Plus, one is often enough. I prepared a selection of photos especially for the review, all of them taken on an iPhone 6 Plus. No processing, everything is as is.

10. Still, my iPhone is an iPhone 6. A smartphone should be small and should fit in any pocket and take up minimal space. The 6 Plus has its advantages, forgive the tautology, but I personally never managed to get used to the size. I can't comfortably type with one hand, I can't carry it in my front pocket with a small wallet - something I've gotten used to doing over the years and don't want to break the habit. I like that the iPhone 6 is comfortable to hold against your head during a call, while the 6 Plus cannot even be pressed comfortably with your shoulder to your ear.

Then you start to think: well, after all, there’s a bigger screen here, and it’s more convenient to answer emails, it’s more convenient to watch movies, it’s also more convenient to show something in company – and you forget about all the inconveniences.

I can’t unconditionally recommend the iPhone 6 Plus (as opposed to the simple six) to you - it’s not a simple device. I’ll just note that many of my friends who have been with their iPhone since 2007 chose the 6 Plus. A reason to forget about the iPad and the small iPhone and combine their capabilities in one device. Why not?

Without a doubt, Apple takes first place in producing the most aesthetically beautiful and, first of all, high-quality products. Having been on the electronics market since 1976, they still win the hearts of people with their unsurpassed design and functionality, without forgetting the ergonomics of the product. Thanks to the fact that the company produces high-quality products while keeping pace with innovative technologies, they were able to become flagships in electronics, earning themselves an unsurpassed reputation.

One of the most popular smartphones The modern products that Apple produces are the iPhone. And the most popular iPhone model is the iPhone 6 plus. It is so popular because of its sophisticated design and innovative internal content.

About iPhone 6 plus

This line is created for lovers of wide screens and thin bodies. There have also been significant changes in the design of the phone; it is already significantly different from the “five”.

The iPhone 6 kit includes:

Characteristic

Unlike more standard iPhone 6, Plus version is more suitable for shooting and photography. The impressive size does not at all interfere with ease of use, but rather, on the contrary, makes it more convenient. Many users, having switched to such dimensions, said that they no longer wanted to return to the previous ones. standard sizes and the phone is quite comfortable.

This phone is designed for large hands, but after a couple of days of use, people with small hands noted that it was very comfortable and easy to get used to. The main materials from which it is made are aluminum alloy and glass. The use of such materials in the phone case means that if you are clumsy enough, you will need to purchase a case so that while using the phone you do not accidentally drop it.

Design

The iPhone 6 Plus has four colors: “space gray”, “ pink gold", gold and silver, the choice of color is provided to you upon purchase. On the sides there are volume keys, which are located quite high, but this is quite convenient. The rounded shape, material, size and quality make this smartphone individual and unsurpassed.

On the back of the phone there is an image of the company logo and two stripes that act as antennas - all this is succinctly intertwined with the design. The camera located on the back of the smartphone protrudes slightly, but when using the case, the camera will be in its place. By placing the phone on a horizontal surface and pressing it, you will not feel any vibrations or wobbles. This iPhone was made perfect.

Phone dimensions

The dimensions of this model are significantly different from the standard “six” and even more so from the “five”. This model is not a standard product from Apple; the company previously stated that it produces smartphones that are comfortable to use with one hand, but now they have released the first of a fairly wide-screen phone that will use two hands. 6 Plus has the following body dimensions:

  • diagonal 5.5 in cm;
  • length – 15.81 centimeters;
  • width, namely the horizontal side of the smartphone when it is standard arrangement– 7.78 cm or 3.06 inches;
  • thickness - 7.1 mm or 0.2 inches;
  • phone weight - 172 g;
  • the volume calculated using the data provided by the manufacturer is 87.73 cubic cm.

Battery

Compared with previous versions This iPhone has a fairly large battery, the capacity of which is 2915 mAh. Basically, all modern flagships have lithium-ion and lithium-polymer ion batteries, the same smartphone uses a lithium-polymer battery, which holds a charge longer than the previous one and is non-removable, as on all models.

With such a battery, you can talk in 2G mode for 24 hours, and leave it in the background for 384 hours (16 days). When watching videos in HD quality, the phone will run out of charge only after 7 hours and 30 minutes, and when listening to music in the player when it is in background, its performance will be lost only after 80 hours. True, when playing games, the smartphone will lose charge much faster.

Screen

The screen created by the company is almost perfect. The iPhone 6 plus has an IPS matrix, which has maximum speed up to 519 cd/m2. The phone also has an HD screen resolution of 1920x1080, with a pixel density of 401 pixels per 1 inch. This screen also has such viewing angles that we can call them maximum - even with the greatest tilt of the smartphone, the color rendition does not change. Thanks to this, the screen resolution can be called top-end compared to other phones.

The Apple iPhone 6 Plus also has automatic screen brightness adjustment, so even on the brightest day you can easily use the device. This device uses 24-bit color transmission, so the maximum number of shades that can be displayed on the screen is 16777216 - this is quite a large figure. Another definite plus is the screen’s scratch resistance. The display itself has an area of 68.02% of the area of the entire phone, dimensions 6.85cm x 12.18cm respectively and a diagonal of 5.5 inches.

So why is it almost perfect? The manufacturer has made every effort to produce the screen. But not all applications and games are designed for this resolution; therefore, in unoptimized ones, the problem of pixelation or “graininess” of the image may arise.

Camera

The iPhone camera has always been one of the main advantages of this phone. Even in earlier phone models, the camera was always one step ahead of its counterparts. In that times Apple did not change his habits and again released an advanced camera. iPhone 6 plus is equipped with two cameras - main and front. We will tell you further how many megapixels they have and the characteristics of each of the two.

Main camera

The main camera on the iPhone 6 plus also has excellent properties:

  • 8 megapixel camera with a phase focusing system, which was not present in the iPhone 6;
  • maximum resolution pictures – 3264×2448 pixels

One of the main components of the camera is the photosensor and optics. The iPhone 6 Plus uses a Sony ISX014 Exmor RS photo sensor, which measures 0.24 inches, with a pixel size of 0.001471mm, and the smaller the pixel, the better the resolution and image quality. Light sensitivity or ISO determines the camera's performance in low-light conditions . This indicator in this camera is 32 - 2000. This device also uses a double LED flash.

Front-camera

The secondary or front camera has a CMOS photo sensor and an f2.2 aperture. With these parameters, the maximum image resolution will be 1.23 megapixels.

When shooting video with the main camera, the maximum video resolution will be 1920×1080 pixels at 30 or 60 fps; and when shooting with the front camera - 1280 x 720 using no more than 30 frames per second. There is also a slow motion option.

The formats supported by the iPhone 6 plus are MP3, WAV, MP4A, eAAC+, AAC, Apple Lossless. This line of smartphones does not have a radio.

Technical specifications

Finally, we will tell you about almost the most important thing for any phone - its “stuffing”. Not many users understand this, but quite a lot depends on it. Here are the iPhone 6 plus and the technical specifications of its internals.

Rumors that Apple will introduce a large iPhone in 2014 have been circulating since mid-2013. There was also talk of an even larger iPhone. This summer, brave Chinese workers stole so many spare parts from Foxconn factories that some even managed to assemble the entire phone... No one doubted the release of the iPhone 6, while not everyone believed in the iPhone 6 Plus.

And on September 9, 2014, Tim Cook said from the stage that in addition to the new large iPhone 6, Apple will now sell the iPhone 6 Plus, a smartphone of impressive dimensions. Needless to say, what a stir there was around the new product. Some fans of the company immediately began to criticize the new product, recalling Apple to the words of Steve Jobs, who said that for convenience, the smartphone screen should not be large, and when using the iPhone, everyone could reach any point on the display with their thumb. Fans of devices Android control considered that the iPhone 6 Plus is an attempt by Apple to copy the design of flagships from other manufacturers. But there were also those who immediately decided to buy the iPhone 6 Plus - these are people for whom size played an important role.

I am the one who was happy about the release of the iPhone 6 Plus and was one of the first to purchase the new product. After three weeks of active use of the smartphone, I have accumulated a lot of impressions; operating experience allowed me to personally evaluate the strengths and weak sides device, and time to formulate thoughts into a full review.

  • iPhone 6 Plus
  • Length: 158.1 mm
  • Width: 77.8 mm
  • Thickness: 7.1 mm
  • Weight: 172 g
  • iPhone 6
  • Length: 138.1 mm
  • Width: 67.0 mm
  • Thickness: 6.9 mm

  • iPhone 5s
  • Length: 123.8 mm
  • Width: 58.5 mm
  • Thickness: 7.5 mm
  • Weight: 112 g
It's clear that the iPhone 6 Plus is significantly larger and heavier than the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6, which of course makes it less convenient compared to smaller models. But having decided to buy a 5.5-inch mobile device, complaining about such a seemingly shortcoming is somehow strange. You just need to accept this feature. And you have to understand that the iPhone 6 Plus is not a device that you can easily take out of your jeans pocket and just as easily put it back into your pocket.

In addition, not all jeans pockets can absorb this hero. For example, this trick most likely will not work with women's jeans, trousers and other wardrobe items, but with men's clothing everything is simpler. But even if you manage to place the entire device in your pocket, when walking you risk significantly speeding up the process of wearing out the headphone plug, which every now and then gets caught under the bend of your body. You can also note some inconveniences when climbing stairs, but if you do not step over a step, then this problem is unlikely to affect you.

iPhone 6 Plus in women's and men's jeans

It’s not easy to deftly take a phone out of your pocket with one hand, but if you’ve already taken it out and are ready to help with the fingers of your other hand, the large screen will absorb you completely and you will no longer remember the frighteningly large iPhone size 6 Plus.

iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPhone 6 Plus

Despite the fact that I consider the design of the iPhone 6 Plus to be quite successful, I would like to find fault with the wide frames along the edges of the display, which are much narrower in competing models from other manufacturers. If the height of the phone is practically not confusing (158.1 mm), then the huge width (77.8 mm) is poorly compatible with the comfort of using the device with one hand.

Photo by iMore. iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air and iPad Mini Retina

The weight of the phone is huge - 172 grams, but you are unlikely to remember this in everyday use. The phone doesn't feel too heavy, except when you're lying on the couch and you drop it on your face.

It is worth noting that the small thickness, only 7.1 millimeters, has a fairly good effect on the confidence with which you hold the phone in your hand. Although, quite a lot of critics and users note that it is confident to hold one iPhone hand The 6 Plus is difficult and there is a high risk of dropping it. Apparently it depends on the size of the hands. In any case, you can always help with the fingers of your other hand.

iPhone 6 Plus Design and Construction

When photos of the rear began to appear online iPhone panels 6, many people really didn’t like the thick plastic strips on the top and bottom of the case. These inserts are necessary for the signal to pass through, since the housing materials prevent this in other places. Yes, in the photo the stripes really look disgusting, but in life attention is not focused on them at all, which cannot be said about the protruding camera, but more on that a little later. Can these plastic inserts be called a disadvantage? I think no. But it would be much better if they were made solid or, conversely, as thin as possible.

But the protruding camera is really unpleasant. Of course, if you use a case, you won't even remember that the camera in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus protrudes, and even without a case this feature doesn't bother. You remember the protruding camera in two cases: when the phone is lying on a flat surface; and when the phone is lying on a dirty surface.

I didn't just talk about dirt. The protective glass of the camera is almost completely recessed, which ensures friction with any crumbs and grains of sand. Apple claims the iPhone 6 Plus' camera lens is protected by sapphire crystal, but I'm still worried about scratching it.

Otherwise, I liked the design of the new iPhone. The buttons fit perfectly, all connections are sealed to keep moisture out, and the sloping corners are so pleasant to the touch that you might think they're soft. The feeling of your finger rolling off the front panel is indescribable.

The Home button has also undergone changes. The Touch ID sensor has become significantly smaller; a pleasant edging has appeared, which gives the impression that the button has become smaller. The Power button has changed its location and is very convenient to use except when you need to take a screenshot. Sometimes you can accidentally press it when taking a photo. Bad, but not critical. You'll have to get used to it.

The design turned out really well. The phone seems monolithic, you can feel the quality of the materials used and it is very pleasant to hold in your hands.

iPhone 6 Plus Hardware and Performance

The new iPhone models received an updated dual-core A8 processor (64-bit) and an M8 coprocessor. Tests show that the performance increase relative to the iPhone 5s can hardly be called impressive. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are only 20-25% more powerful than their predecessor, and in some synthetic tests the performance increase is even less than 10%.

Apple A8 manufactured on 20nm technological process, and the less given value, the higher the energy efficiency. In other words, new processor, with higher performance, consumes less energy and generates less heat.

Despite the fact that the processor frequency in the iPhone 6 Plus is higher than in the iPhone 6, the phones show almost the same performance. This happens because the screen resolution of the 5.5-inch iPhone is higher than that of its smaller brother.

As you can see, the GPU has also been upgraded. Instead of the old PowerVR G6430, the new iPhone roars PowerVR GX6450. And note that the key change in the model name is not the number 5, but the letter X. The PowerVR G6430 is an obsolete GPU from two years ago, while the GX6450 is a powerful modern GPU released this year.

Performance text ixbt.com

The GX6450 isn't just an improved processor. The GX6450 is a 4-cluster model of the six-cluster GX6650. For those who are not in the know, let me explain that the GX6650 is one of the most powerful mobile GPUs, which competes with Tegra K1.

If you take into account that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus took leading positions in the BASEMARK X synthetic gaming test, you don’t have to worry about a slight increase in performance relative to the iPhone 5s. The new Apple phones are indeed very powerful devices.

But what’s really sad is the amount of RAM, it remained at the level of iPhones of previous generations - 1 gigabyte of the LPDDR3 standard. This is damn small by modern standards, but in practice you are unlikely to notice this shortcoming.

You can find out more about performance tests in. I also recommend looking at the performance of the iPhone 6 in everyday tasks, relative to the flagships of other manufacturers.

The new iPhones received an MDM9625M modem, it provides throughput up to 150 Mbps per LTE networks, but for this speed the operator must provide a wide range. It seems that in Russia only Megafon technically supports such a huge bandwidth.

The phone supports almost all LTE networks mobile operators in the world, which can also be called an undeniable plus.

Wi-Fi module in iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus standard IEEE 802.11ac. show that Wi-Fi data transfer speeds in practice can be up to 275 Mbit/s.

Also received new iPhones NFC support, although even iFixed could not determine its location on the motherboard. There is a version that the module is so weak that it is not able to provide sufficient data transfer speeds for everyday tasks. However, this does not matter, since NFC in the iPhone 6 Plus only serves for payments through the Apple Pay system. In other words, we can assume that the new iPhones do not have full NFC.

The iPhone 6 Plus display is a different story

As mentioned above, the iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. The density is 401 pixels per inch. This is not the highest figure on the market, but it is higher than the iPhone 6 and iPhone 5s, which have a dpi of 326 pixels.

Apple calls new screen Retina HD, but I assure you, the increased resolution is not at all what surprises the display. It is so thin that even if you look closely, it is difficult to see the glass between your finger and the icon on the springboard. One gets the amazing impression that all the elements iOS interface as if they stick to your finger.

Contrast iPhone display The 6 Plus has a ratio of 1300:1, resulting in blacks that are close to what we see on Amoled panels, and whites that are nearly flawless even when the phone is tilted significantly. Retina HD is 99% compatible with the sRGB color standard.

There is no need to talk about viewing angles, they are impeccable. The polarizer has also been improved; the display is now less susceptible to bright light.

I would like to note that the display on the iPhone 6 is a little better than on the iPhone 6 Plus. It displays whites and blacks better at obtuse viewing angles. This can only be noticed in complete darkness, and only if you keep both phones nearby.

Either way, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have some of the best displays on the market. Even DisplayMate, one of the world's most respected experts, concluded that Apple's new phones have the best mobile LCD display they've ever tested.

Experts note that it is wrong to say that the display of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or other Android flagship is better than that of the iPhone 6 Plus or vice versa, since they both strive for the ideal in “different weight categories.” The Note 4 display strives for perfection in color palette Adobe RGB, which is most often used in printing, while the display of the new iPhone is designed for the sRGB palette, which is more consistent with the colors that we see in everyday life.

iPhone 6 Plus battery life

It must be admitted that the iPhone has not demonstrated outstanding battery life compared to competitors from the Android camp for a long time, and the reason was its small size Apple phones, which did not allow the use of a physically large and capacious battery. What can't be said about the iPad and Macbook, their battery life has always been amazing, and with the advent of the large iPhone 6 Plus, Apple was able to use a very capacious battery.

Let's compare the official figures:

  • iPhone 6 Plus
  • Capacity 2915 mAh
  • Talk time: up to 24 hours
  • Standby time: up to 384h
  • Video: up to 14h
  • Music: up to 80h
  • Internet 3G: up to 12h
  • Internet LTE: up to 12 hours
  • Internet Wi-Fi: up to 12 hours
  • iPhone 6
  • Capacity 1810 mAh
  • Talk time: up to 14 hours
  • Standby time: up to 250h
  • Video: until 11h
  • Music: up to 50h
  • Internet 3G: up to 10h
  • Internet LTE: up to 10h
  • Internet Wi-Fi: up to 11h
  • iPhone 5
  • Capacity 1570 mAh
  • Talk time: up to 10 hours
  • Standby time: up to 250h
  • Video: up to 10h
  • Music: up to 40h
  • Internet 3G: up to 8h
  • Internet LTE: up to 10h
  • Internet Wi-Fi: up to 10h
As you can see, the iPhone 6 Plus has impressive battery life, but that's just in numbers, what's it like in real life?

In practice, the phone can actually work for a very long time, so long that I have never been able to completely shut it down. If you only make calls and periodically surf the Internet, then the battery charge may well be enough for two full working days.

And there is no need to look towards the Android camp, where phones have a more capacious battery. The iPhone 6 Plus achieves these results by optimizing iOS and using more energy-efficient hardware. What is one GX6450 worth...

Photo and video camera iPhone 6 Plus

The new iPhones feature an 8-megapixel iSight camera with a 1.5µ pixel size. Since the iPhone 5s, it has undergone few changes, but there are some.

Technology has appeared Focus Pixels, which allows the camera to autofocus faster. Don’t think that this technology is something super new and incredible; competitors have analogues, but they have different names.

Several examples of photos taken on iPhone 6 Plus

Among other things, I would like to note the increased resolution panoramic photo up to 43 megapixels.

The iPhone 6 Plus has optical image stabilization, which is not present in the iPhone 6. And some even complain about it, claiming that it creates a motion sickness effect if you look at the phone screen for a long time. No matter how I tried to feel such a curious effect, nothing worked. Perhaps something can be noticed, but it is difficult to call it a minus or disadvantage.

Also worth noting is the dual flash True Tone, which existed before, but in the new iPhones it has a round and more compact shape. True Tone allows you to take better pictures in poor visibility conditions.

Example photo in low light conditions without flash and with flash

Otherwise, the camera in the iPhone remains the same as in the iPhone 5s; it is a five-element lens protected by sapphire glass, with an ƒ/2.2 aperture, a light sensor on the rear panel and a hybrid IR filter.

8 megapixels – is this not enough or is their number completely unimportant? On mobile-review.com there was a small comparison of the cameras of the iPhone 6 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy S5, which has a 16 megapixel camera. I decided to cut out the same fragment of photos and reduced them to the same size, resulting in a visual comparison of the cameras of the two flagships. I suggest you familiarize yourself with the results.

iPhone 6 Plus on the left, Galasxy S5 on the right. Photo mobile-review.com

As you can see, in most cases the iPhone 6 Plus camera takes better pictures than the Galasxy S5 camera. But in low light conditions the phone has Samsung pictures turn out better.

The video camera has also been updated. The camera was able to shoot video at a speed of 240 frames per second. This means that we can shoot video and view it 8 times slower, although its quality leaves much to be desired.

On Youtube you will find many examples of gorgeous 240fps Slomo videos shot on the iPhone 6, but I was not able to make a single video that could be called excellent. The resolution in this mode is lower, and if the lighting in the room is slightly dim, the quality will be simply disgusting.

But the same can't be said for shooting HD video at 1080p resolution. The video quality is excellent, and if you take into account the fact that the new iPhone 6 uses autofocus tracking technology, even dynamic scenes in shaking hands look decent on video. This is great.

iPhone 6 Plus bends, beats, tears out hair, fights and swears...

Does iPhone 6 Plus bend? Yes, it bends. It also burns and beats. My beer glass breaks too, and my laptop doesn't survive being hit against the wall.

For many years, all and sundry different ways Test your iPhone for durability. Even the iPhone 4 was bent by some, but this means that the phone can be bent under normal operating conditions. Yes, this trick is much easier to do with the iPhone 6 Plus. You can, of course, say that Apple screwed up and any child can bend their new product, but any child can also break any other smartphone. The question is not the quality of materials and design, but the strength and desire to break something.

I've been using the iPhone 6 Plus for three weeks. I walk up 1-2 flights of stairs, sleep on my phone when I can’t find the strength to get up for work and calmly squat down in order to pick something up from the floor or tie shoelaces even in skinny jeans, while the device rests quite firmly on the leg... I responsibly declare that the iPhone 6 Plus is almost impossible to bend in everyday use. This can only be done on purpose, by exerting yourself.

I'm also really amused by this whole hair-pulling thing. Someone somehow manages to make sure that beard hair gets into the almost sealed gaps between the elements of the body. And then, suddenly, the hair gets stuck there and gets pulled out. I love a beard, I walk around with a beard 70% of the time and the iPhone 6 Plus has not plucked a single hair from me in 3 weeks. Brad, and that's all.

The iPhone 6 Plus is beating, you have to live with it. It all depends on how it falls and on what. But breaking an iPhone is not as easy as it seems. My iPhone 4 has survived so many falls on a variety of surfaces that it should have broken long ago, but it didn’t. And this is nothing more than an accident. The same thing can happen with any other phone. If you are afraid of breaking it, wear a cover.

Pros and benefits of iPhone 6 Plus

Let's summarize and list all the pros and benefits of Apple's new flagship.
  • iPhone 6 Plus is thin. It is really very thin, which has a good effect on how it fits in the hand. Its thickness is only 7.1 mm, while the Nexus 6 is 10.06 mm and the Galaxy Note 4 is 8.5 mm.
  • The phone's body makes a good impression. We see a product that is truly holistic and precise down to the millimeter, and the first-class build quality once again gives you reason to be impressed by the design of the iPhone 6 Plus.
  • The phone body is incredibly ergonomic. It is very easy to get used to and with sufficient length of fingers, it is not difficult to use with one hand. The sloping edges create the impression of softness, and the moderate width helps you hold the phone more or less confidently in your hand.
  • Whatever they say, the iPhone 6 Plus has a magnificent screen and its magic lies not only in the large viewing angles, but also in the incredible proximity of the image to the front of the phone. If you don’t like the pungent colors of Amoled displays and want to observe the most realistic color reproduction, then the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will satisfy you 100%.
  • The iPhone 6 Plus has a good camera, which is not about the number of megapixels, but about the quality of the pictures. You don’t have to try to hold the phone as level as possible and take a long time to “aim”; the camera will do most of the work for you.
  • Huge battery life. Although the iPhone 6 Plus does not have the most capacious battery, it allows you to work without recharging for a very long time. Sometimes the phone lasts two days and I can’t say that I have to save battery power.

Pros and cons of the iPhone 6 Plus

We must not forget about the shortcomings. I tried to put together all the objective complaints that may arise against the iPhone 6 Plus and each of them is fair in its own way.
  • High price. And there is no need to say that it is high in Russia; on the contrary, this year the Russians found themselves in a rather advantageous position. Our prices for new iPhones are not much higher, if not cheaper, than in other countries. The phone itself is more expensive than its competitors, among which I see the Nexus 6, Note 4 and LG G3.
  • The usable space of the front panel is smaller compared to its competitors. As a result, other flagships, with the same dimensions, have a significantly larger display diagonal.
  • Wide frames. And we’re not even talking about the possibility of enlarging the display, but specifically about the excessive width, which creates inconvenience when printing text in horizontal orientation.
  • The camera sticks out. The disadvantage is insignificant, since after a few minutes you don’t pay any attention to it, but there is a risk of damage protective glass lens increases.
  • Plastic inserts. The downside is very dubious, since the stripes don’t look that bad in real life. By the way, the first scratches I got were on them, and not on the apple or the anodized surface.
  • Unusual location of the Power button. It's easy to use, but when taking photos or changing the volume, you'll find yourself accidentally pressing it until you get used to it.
  • The iPhone 6 Plus is not much more productive than the old iPhone 5s. But this happened because Apple used the 5s very powerful processor For its time, it was impossible to make leaps and bounds in a year.
  • Small amount of RAM. By modern standards, 1024 megabytes of RAM is very little. Most users won't notice this, but if you actively use many programs, you will encounter programs being unloaded from RAM too quickly. The problem doesn't appear often, but it does exist.
  • Defective NFC module. It's so limited in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus that it's completely unfair to say it's available. NFC here serves only for ApplePay, receiving and sending files and carrying out wireless connection with accessories he is not capable.
  • No 4K video shooting. The camera is good, even very good, but video shooters will be disappointed by the lack of 4K shooting. Whatever they say, 4K video is really much better quality than Full HD.
  • Unadapted applications. The disadvantage is temporary, but it does happen. WITH iPhone release 6 Plus has passed almost a month, and most of the most popular games and programs are stupidly stretched under large display, look cloudy and foreign. The magic of the gorgeous screen dissipates.
  • Supplied with a 5 W power adapter. It’s a pity that for such a price we get such a simple adapter, and this despite the fact that the iPhone 6 Plus can be infected from a 12W adapter.

What to choose: iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus and how they differ from each other

In addition to a larger battery, longer battery life, and optical camera stabilization, the iPhone 6 Plus has several other differences that Apple didn't talk about at the presentation.

Both phones have great displays, but the iPhone 6 has a higher contrast ratio for more realistic blacks and whites.
  • iPhone 6 Plus
  • 1920x1080 pixels
  • 401 pixels/inch
  • Diagonal 5.5 inches
  • Contrast ratio 1300:1
  • iPhone 6
  • 1334x750 pixels
  • 326 pixel/inch
  • Diagonal 4.7 inches
  • Contrast ratio 1400:1
Despite the fact that both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have an Apple A8 processor, they run on different clock speeds 1.2 GHz and 1.39 GHz respectively.

What to choose - iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus? This is a difficult question to which there is no clear answer. On the one hand, we have a huge phone with an impressive display on our favorite mobile operating system, on the other, everything is the same, but just smaller.

The dimensions of the iPhone 6 Plus are its undeniable advantage over its younger brother and at the same time are its main disadvantage. And if you are not afraid of large dimensions and the price does not bother you at all, then the iPhone 6 Plus is 100% your choice, otherwise you should take a closer look at the 4.7 inch model. But you should remember that when buying an iPhone 6 Plus, you are not purchasing the most powerful and technologically advanced phone, but the most expensive, and this is important to understand so as not to regret your purchase later.

Conclusion

iPhone 6 Plus exceeded my expectations. I can't call myself a dedicated fan Apple technology, but I have been using their phones for many years and this is the first time I have experienced such strong satisfaction from a purchase. Moreover, you really don’t get to know this phone right away, but only after a week or more... iPhone 6 Plus is not just a “big iPhone”, it is a real “tablet phone”, which has as much from the iPad as from the usual iPhone. This is something in between and this is his undeniable advantage. Most likely, after purchasing the 6 Plus, you will completely abandon using iPad and that's not bad...

The iPhone 6 Plus has many shortcomings, but as always, you will remember them with a grin only when fans of Android smartphones point them out to you. The phone has too many pros to pay attention to the cons.

We tested the new products for 2 weeks to understand what purposes each of them was suitable for.

Apple simultaneously released two very similar and at the same time different premium smartphones: the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus. What is the difference between new products and main question— which smartphone to choose? We've been passionately testing the new iPhone 6s for two weeks to see what each one is suited for.

The era of small 3.5 and 4-inch iPhones is becoming a thing of the past, leaving room for larger displays that provide more screen real estate. The diagonal of the iPhone 6 is significantly larger than the diagonal of the iPhone 5S, but it is still quite comfortable for use with one hand, which cannot be said about the iPhone 6 Plus, which is somewhat reminiscent of the iPad mini - here you will always have to use both hands. The design of the models is the same, as is the filling and interfaces.

The devices, first of all, differ in battery life. The iPhone 6 drains much faster than we expected it to, although it will last most users a full workday. The iPhone 6 Plus is larger and, accordingly, has a one and a half times more capacious battery, which gives a noticeable increase in its autonomy. The new products also differ in their displays: iPhone screen 6 Plus is clearer and has Full HD resolution (1920×1080) versus 1344×750 on the “main” version, which, however, is also sufficient for a 4.7-inch diagonal.

In terms of OS performance, the iPhone 6, in our opinion, works better, the iPhone 6 Plus still needs some minor improvements. Still, for good optimization it is not enough to simply stretch the icons to larger sizes, and its work in landscape mode is not yet ideal. In addition, the camera of the 5.5-inch iPhone received an optical stabilization system, which the iPhone 6 did not have. However, we did not notice any obvious difference in the quality of shooting, so we would not recommend using this criterion when choosing a new iPhone. So, first things first.

Dimensions and ease of use with one hand

New iPhones have become larger. If operating a 4-inch iPhone with one hand was not difficult, now reaching the desired icon has become much more difficult. Yes, both smartphones have rounded, smooth shapes, thanks to this they fit well in the hand, but there is no talk of operating them with one hand. Compared to Android smartphones, which have navigation buttons located at the bottom, the iPhone has one control key, and navigation is carried out using icons in applications, which are usually located at the top. It turns out that reaching for them with a finger of the same hand in which you hold the iPhone is inconvenient.

Partially solves the problem Home button. With a double light touch of the key (no need to press or hold), you will “lower” your desktop down. You can “raise” the image back by double-tapping again, “pulling” the display back to where it was, or simply wait until it returns to its place on its own. If you accidentally stumble upon this feature for the first time, you may think that your iPhone is broken and glitched. It looks beautiful only on the desktop, but in applications it seems that the image simply falls into nothingness and a dark gray void appears almost on half the screen. Perhaps this void will soon be filled with something in the next update. The function can be used in most applications that work in portrait mode, but in landscape mode it is assumed that you are holding the device with both hands, and this function is no longer needed.

Pressing the key twice (with a click) will show you a list of active running applications, you can quickly switch between them and close them with a “swipe” up, which, as it turns out, is not always convenient. For example, if you do this quickly and before the moving icon has stopped, the phone will assume that you want to scroll through the list rather than close the application, so you will have to wait a little.

One thing we didn't like about both iPhone 6s was the wobbly buttons. On the iPhone 6 Plus, which we bought for testing, you could easily twitch the power key and both volume keys from side to side, but on the iPhone 6 - only the volume keys, and if you put it to your ear, you can even hear them hang out. This was not the case on iPhone 5s.

The iPhone 6 Plus is much larger, so if you don't want to retrain for a phablet, it's better to stick with the iPhone 6. They, according to at least, you can still use one hand. The iPhone 6 Plus can be held in one hand, but cannot be operated with one hand in any way, and it can hardly be carried in a pocket. We can also add that the body of the iPhone 6 Plus is not the most durable, which we noticed in tests, but you will have to try hard to bend it with your hands.

Display: Big 6 Plus for multimedia or 'standard' all-rounder?

The difference in smartphone diagonals is only 0.8 inches, but 6 Plus is iPhone background 6 seems simply huge. Apple doesn't want to miss out on phablet market share: judging by the resolution alone (1920x1080), it's clear that the iPhone 6 Plus is designed for multimedia pleasures and games, which is what a large display is for. The resolution of the small iPhone 6 has been raised to maintain the same pixel density as on the iPhone 5S. In the case of the 6 Plus, it is 404 pixels per inch, which is a quite common solution for a large diagonal.

However, you can’t yet fully enjoy the benefits of the iPhone 6 Plus display, since not all games and applications are optimized for it: many look grainy, and in a number of games, including the same Asphalt 8, pixelation is striking. Over time, this will, of course, be corrected, but for now it greatly spoils the experience, especially when the level of expectations from the device is very high.

As for color rendition, viewing angles and brightness, both new products have no problems. The brightness is high, and the viewing angles are not just wide, but wide, and, importantly, with virtually no color shift when deviating. Both displays do not formally have a glove mode, but nevertheless you can work with them in thin gloves, however, unfortunately, there are no guarantees, it all depends on the characteristics of your personal gloves.

Battery life

If a parameter such as battery life is important to you, then the iPhone 6 Plus will be more preferable to you than the “main” version. It is equipped with a much larger battery (2915 mAh versus 1810 on the iPhone 6), which gives an increase in battery life, despite the difference in resolutions and display sizes. As usual, both batteries are non-removable. In our tests, the iPhone 6 Plus lasted 7 and a half hours versus 6 hours and 40 minutes for the iPhone 6 in the video test with the screen at maximum brightness. The difference is not that big due to much more high resolution and display diagonals of the iPhone 6 Plus. As for the test in audio player mode, in our tests the large iPhone showed itself to be noticeably more durable - 79 hours versus 55 for the iPhone 6. It is curious that on Apple presentations declared 80 and 50 hours of operation in this mode, respectively - they were not deceived. The battery life of the iPhone 6 Plus is noticeably longer and may be one of the reasons to prefer the larger “main” model. At the same time, we still expected better results from both models.

Interfaces, memory and performance

In all this, the new iPhones are identical. Despite the seemingly outdated characteristics (“only” 1 GB of RAM, a dual-core processor operating at up to 1.4 GHz), both smartphones are good in terms of performance, and all applications are optimized for fast operation.

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are the same in terms of built-in memory - you can choose from models with 16/64/128 GB of memory, plus 5 free GB in the iCloud cloud service, with the ability to pay extra for additional gigabytes. And of course, it will hardly be news to anyone that iPhones do not support memory cards and, perhaps, never will.

The set of interfaces is also similar: dual-band Wi-Fi with support for the high-speed 802.11ac standard, Bluetooth, GPS with GLONASS support and even an NFC chip, although it works exclusively for Apple Pay’s own payment system.

Is it possible to choose one iPhone over another here? Since we’re talking about games, the iPhone 6 Plus is more convenient as a gaming platform: firstly, the large diagonal is conducive to this, taking the gaming capabilities of the phone to a new level, and secondly, a 20% higher pixel density will be for gamers noticeable and pleasant, finally, you can cover more details and it’s easier to “hit” the right button at the right moment.

Camera

The main characteristics of the cameras are the same: the main camera is 8 MP and the front camera is 1.2 MP. You can evaluate the quality of the photos in the reviews. As for comparing models, the iPhone 6 Plus has everything that the iPhone 6 has, plus optical image stabilization. The optical system stabilizes the image if your hand shakes or you don't move your iPhone smoothly when shooting. Overall, we did not notice any significant difference and cannot say that this somehow affects the quality of photos or videos: the effect can only be noticeable in poor lighting. Note that some of our experts who took part in the tests even thought that the video on the iPhone 6 was more “stable” and smoother.

Working with text: prediction, additional icons and keyboards from third-party developers

The keyboards now have a feature that predicts the next word. Let's just say that it works well, but so far only for in English. We hope that someday there will be Russian, but judging by the fact that Siri does not speak Russian in iOS 8, then we may have to wait a long time. In addition, you can finally change your keyboard by downloading alternative options V App Store, a kind of another “degree of freedom” in iOS 8. However, most keyboards do not yet support the Russian language, so you will have to search and pay some money for an alternative keyboard with the Russian language.

In some apps, the iPhone 6 keyboard switches to landscape mode when you rotate the display. On it you can find a new column of icons on the left and right - for a comma, a period, moving the cursor left and right, a separate icon for calling emoticons and some others. At the same time, the iPhone 6 Plus received an “extended” keyboard in landscape mode in all applications - with two columns of new icons on the left and right. On the right side there are: “remove the keyboard”, moving the cursor left and right, commas, periods, question marks and an exclamation mark, which were clearly missing earlier. On the left side there are icons for copy/cut/paste, etc.

It is worth noting that some applications on the iPhone 6 Plus, for example, in the standard messenger, often cause confusion. For example, when you rotate, you can “lose” the cursor, it simply resets and you have to move your finger to position it where you need it, otherwise you simply lose the text you typed. Generally iPhone keyboard 6 Plus is more advantageous, it is larger in size and has additional keys, but, in our opinion, it is still a little “raw” and needs to be improved.

Peculiarities

Like the iPhone 5S, the new items are equipped with a fingerprint scanner - Touch ID. operating system- iOS 8, and both can work with payment system Apple Pay. One of important differences smartphones is that the iPhone 6 Plus can be used in landscape mode. You rotate the device and the image rotates along with it, along with the desktop, settings and messenger. Only the dialer, multitasking, control and event panels do not automatically flip when you rotate the display. We also encountered the fact that pre-installed application"music" the image disappears, leaving only a small icon with the album logo in the corner of the display, and the rest of the screen is filled with black. In addition, in landscape mode, the control panel takes up the entire display space.

As you know, new items come with new system- iOS 8, which doesn't have many visual changes. You can mark the new list of recent contacts in the multitasking panel; in the notification center there are two panels left - the notifications themselves and the list of events for today/tomorrow. A function has been added to quickly respond to notifications without logging out. active application: For example, if you are listening to music and you receive a message, now you don’t have to switch to another application - you can quickly reply from the notification panel.

What to choose? And is it worth replacing your old iPhone with a new one?

If you are the owner of an iPhone 5S or even an iPhone 5, and you think that the iPhone should be small and as convenient as possible for use with one hand, then we would not recommend immediately running for a new iPhone. Still, there are not so many revolutionary changes in the new products. Yes, the processor has become faster, in the future both voice-over-LTE and Apple Pay may work in Russia (although by the time the latter appears, the iPhone line will most likely be updated), but otherwise there are almost no noticeable changes in everyday use. If you have an older iPhone version, and you're not afraid of the prospect of using an older iPhone 6, changing your smartphone will bring significant improvements in speed, performance, camera quality and battery life.

If you're choosing between the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, we'd recommend choosing the iPhone 6 for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is more convenient - you can still use it with one hand, without having to relearn how to use a smartphone two-handed. In our opinion, 4.7 inches is almost the “reasonable limit” for the notorious ease of use with one hand. Secondly, the advantages of the iPhone 6 Plus are not necessarily noticeable in everyday use: the increased number of pixels per inch is difficult to notice when performing a normal range of tasks, and the camera stabilizer is unlikely to provide a noticeable increase in shooting quality (it did not in our tests). And finally, the iPhone 6 is cheaper.

At the same time, the iPhone 6 Plus has a certain potential - it can become a good multimedia center and gaming platform. In this case, you will have to fork out money: since it is better not to seriously consider the 16 GB version as a multimedia center, and the price for the 64/128 GB version is already seriously steep.

If you have an iPad mini, then you probably won't want to buy the iPhone 6 Plus. If you are the owner of an “old” iPhone with a small diagonal, you don’t have an iPad, then you have something to think about: 6 Plus could become universal device with a 5.5 inch display that can replace a small tablet.

Almost a month ago, I understood one thing simple truth: no matter how convenient and thoughtful the interface it has, my short fingers are not enough to operate it with one hand. And since I still use it with both hands, why not look towards its “big brother”? So I changed my usual “six” to the iPhone 6 Plus.

But don’t think that a 4.7-inch model is inconvenient to operate with one hand. Quite good, I performed 95% of the tasks the same way, holding the smartphone in one hand. I had to use the second one only in those moments when I was writing something or simply providing backup at some points. And correspondence makes up a fairly large share of smartphone use in my daily life, so if I do correspond, it will be done immediately in comfort, on the 6 Plus.

Equipment, design and screen

It will probably not be a surprise to anyone that there are no differences in the packaging (perhaps except for the dimensions), the design of the smartphone itself and its display, compared to the smaller model. The only difference is the resolution, which in the older iPhone has increased to FullHD (1080p, 1920x1080). However, if you look at nearby smartphones, the difference is not noticeable. The screen on both devices is very good. The difference will probably only be visible under a microscope. But does anyone really need this?

It is worth noting that, as stated at the presentation, unlike the iPhone 6, 6 Plus when using Safari opens full versions websites, not mobile ones. In fact, this is not always the case, apparently due to the fact that when entering the site, the latter checks which device was used to log in, sees that it is iOS and standard browser, and decides to show not the full version of himself, but a mobile version of himself.

It should also be said about the emerging landscape mode, available exclusively for the iPhone 6 Plus, similar to the one found in the iPad when the device is rotated. However, unlike a tablet, the Dock does not move to the bottom of the screen. Only icons are flipped. This solution is much more convenient for a smartphone, since if the Dock also moved, it would take up most of the usable space.

In addition, along with the ability to rotate the screen, some applications have also been optimized, for example, Settings, Mail, App Store, which are divided into two parts according to the principle of how it is implemented on the iPad. There is not as much practical benefit from this as it seems at first glance. The screen, although it has grown in width and height, has not become as large as that of a tablet, so ease of use will not always be the same.

Dimensions and weight

Naturally, the display increased to 5.5 inches could not but affect the size of the device and its weight. Holding a “six” in one hand is quite comfortable, but working is no longer so. You can, of course, if you want, but it’s not really necessary. For standard actions like answering a call, opening applications, one hand is enough, but for navigating menus and typing text, this is no longer convenient. The dimensions of the smartphone are 158.1 x 77.8 versus 138.1 x 67 - the difference, as they say, is visible to the naked eye.

The weight of the smartphone has become a little larger: 172 grams versus 129 for the iPhone 6, and this difference is felt. However, it becomes invisible if you use the smartphone with both hands. But the thickness (7.1 mm versus 6.9) does not make itself felt. These 0.2 millimeters don't really matter.

Camera

The new camera is even better than on the iPhone 5S (although who would doubt it?). If we talk about the difference between 6 and 6 Plus, it is not great, and is expressed only in the optical stabilization of the “older” model. But I'm not a photographer, so it doesn't make much difference to me. However, if you shoot video from a car or take photographs with high magnification, then all the beauty of stabilization will be immediately visible.

In all other respects, smartphone cameras and their capabilities are identical. The same shooting modes are present, the same flash is installed.

Autonomy

But here the iPhone 6 Plus shows results that are much superior to its brother. When enough active use smartphone, it can easily survive 24 hours. IN in this case 24 hours is time in hours, not days. Thus, for about two days it is quite possible to do without charging. Of course, all this is purely individual and depends on the conditions of use, optimization of applications and their functional features themselves, but for me the time has increased by about 1.5 times. If the iPhone 5 had to be charged once a day (sometimes even twice), then the sixth version of the smartphone made it possible to increase this time not so significantly. But the “big brother” of the new iPhone 6 was quite able to last two days without a power outlet.

When talking about energy efficiency, we cannot ignore the charging time of the device. The iPhone 6 Plus received a 2915 mAh battery (1810 mAh for the iPhone 6), which is twice the battery of the iPhone 5S. However, unfortunately, it did not charge faster. On the contrary, if the other models charged quickly enough, then the “spatula” is “tied” to the outlet for an additional 30-40 minutes. I won’t judge how bad this is, however, I always want more and better.

Usage

If everyone has long known about all the main characteristics and meanings of new smartphones from Apple, then the best way to summarize the article is not various statisticians, but, as it seems to me, a story about using a smartphone in everyday life.

I already mentioned that I was not very comfortable using the “regular” six, since my short thumb I couldn’t reach the button to switch the keyboard layout from alphabetic to symbolic, so I had to hold the smartphone with both hands. Naturally, with the advent of the 6 Plus, everything became even more difficult for one hand, since the dimensions grew not only in length, but also in width. But for a couple of days I still had to get used to entering text with both hands, because at first, out of habit, I wanted to use only one hand. Over time, the habit evaporated, and entering text with both hands became quite comfortable.

The advantages of a larger screen have also become noticeable: more content when browsing, using applications, and even when connecting to remote computers(yes, it is quite possible to control other machines by connecting via the network). On the other hand, apps that aren't yet optimized for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus look terribly clunky. But it's a matter of time if developers decide to continue updating their products.

Besides everything, the iPhone 6 Plus now looks great on a dashboard or car window as a navigator. Everything is clear here: larger display - more information about the road and events on it. Thanks to optical stabilization and an improved camera, the iPhone 6 Plus can even be used as a video recorder. But this, I think, is not for everybody.

I would also like to say a few words about how the smartphone behaves in a jeans pocket. Compared to the smaller model, the difference is not very noticeable. However, tight trousers or skinny jeans are unlikely to be suitable for wearing the device comfortably. In regular Levi's, the smartphone gets in the way a little when getting into a car, when you have to bend your leg strongly when getting into the cabin. However, there is no discomfort during the trip.
