A wireless channel for broadcasting information from a PC to a TV is actually a primitive copy of Smart TV. Let's see how you can create such a connection.
We use DLNA connection
One way to stream information from your work machine to a third-party screen is through a DLNA connection. To start check the channel, through which your TV receives the main traffic. For a successful connection, the TV and laptop must receive it from the same router. In case your third party device has support Wi— Fi Direct, then you don't need a router. Here you will need to connect to the same network that comes from the TV panel.
Many people think that “setting up a DLNA server” is a complicated operation. In fact, you just need open network access to the content that you need to rebroadcast to the duplicating device. Just define your Wi-Fi network in the settings as for home use, after which standard folders with music and videos will appear in the public domain. To fully “share” the desired folder, click on it right click, go to " properties" and select " access», « advanced setup" Next, simply check the box “ share this folder». 
An easier way to create such access is through “Explorer”, where you can find the network section and click on the “network discovery and access” button, after which Windows Assistant will prompt you with the necessary steps to complete the task.
If after all operations you have activated DLNA, then using the remote control, go to the TV section where you can view the contents of all external sources.
For the most part, this process is very similar for all TV manufacturers: somewhere you need to press the “home” button, somewhere go to the menu of all external connections, etc. And don't forget that MKV format is not supported in TV format, so just change it to AVI.
WiDi or Miracast technologies
As for WiDi or Miracast, this technology allows you to duplicate picture from your main device without sharing it using a wireless channel. The main thing is that your hardware supports one of them. As a rule, if the main components (processor, Wi-Fi module, graphics card) are made by Intel, it means that the laptop fully supports WiDI for Win7/8. They can only drivers required, which you can download from the official website of the manufacturer of these components. PC with Win 8.1 preinstalled. Only support Miracast. Specific information must be verified for each device individually.
As for the connection process, for this you will need runWiDi on your TV through a special section in the settings. If suddenly you couldn’t find it, then just activate Wi-Fi. After that, find and run Intel Wireless Display on your PC to identify your wireless monitor. As a rule, authorization occurs by exchanging a special code that is displayed on the TV display.
With Miracast it's even easier. Run Charms-panel in the operating system, select " devices", Further " projector" and add a second screen. If you could not find the required partition, then update your Wi-Fi drivers - this should fix the situation. 
Connection via Wi-Fi adapter

You also won’t have to bother with separate Wi-FI adapters for long. If you don’t have a Smart TV and have a standard HDMI port on your TV, you can connect if you purchase a separate device. It could be like Google Chromecast, as well as any other device that allows you to send a picture from a laptop to a TV. Either an Android Mini PC or an Intel Compute Stick will also work.
It is worth noting that with some TV models everything is even simpler, since the repeater is connected via ordinaryUSB-port.
In order to accurately determine the type of what you will need to purchase, carefully study the technical characteristics of your TV.
There are several ways to connect a laptop to a TV via WiFi: using a home DLNA server, using the Miricast function or adapters to create a wireless network.
Setting up a home server
If your TV has a Wi-Fi adapter, you can connect it to the same wireless network that your laptop is on via a router. If the TV supports Wi-Fi Direct technology, then you don’t even need a router: devices can be connected directly.
After connecting the devices, you need to configure the image transmission to the screen. To display the contents of laptop folders on the TV, you need to establish shared access to them. But first, make sure that your WiFi connection is set to a private network status:
Now you can proceed to setting up sharing of folders on your laptop so that their contents can then be duplicated on the TV screen. Let's see how to do this through properties, using the “Images” directory as an example.
The “Images” folder has been shared, all that remains is to display its contents on the TV screen via Wi-Fi. To transfer images, take the remote control and find the section in the TV settings that is responsible for connecting to other devices, in particular, a computer. Through it you will see the folders on the laptop that are shared.
If you need, for example, to play a movie that is stored in the laptop’s memory, you can right-click on it and select TV from the “Play” menu. The broadcast will start automatically, the image will be transmitted to the screen until you disconnect.
Connection based on Wi-Fi Direct technology
Wi-Fi Direct allows multiple devices to communicate directly with each other without using a router. If the TV supports Miracast technology, and the laptop was originally installed with Windows 8.1 or higher, then you can use a progressive wireless connection via Wi-Fi Direct. 
Older TV models may not support Miracast. This problem can be solved by flashing the device or connecting a special adapter - you need to clarify the order for each model individually.
On Windows 8.1, similar actions are performed through the Charms sidebar, in which a new device is also added. The image will be duplicated, that is, on the TV screen you will see the same thing that is reproduced on the laptop display.
Using adapters
If your TV does not have a built-in Wi-Fi adapter, you can connect an external module via the HDMI port. However, before you buy additional equipment, you should make sure that the TV can work with it. 
There are many adapter options on the market: this is the Miracast adapter, which is described above, and Google Chromecast for video streaming, and microcomputers from Intel and the same Google.
Many modern TVs can be connected to a computer or laptop via Wi-Fi to view supported files. We will talk about this, as well as some additional solutions, further in this article.
You can connect via Wi-Fi mainly to Smart TV, but means for a regular TV will also be considered.
Option 1: Local network
This approach will be an excellent solution to the problem if you are using a TV that supports a wireless connection. If connected correctly, the TV will be able to view some, mainly multimedia, data from the computer.
Note: We will consider only one TV model, but the settings of other Smart TVs are largely similar and differ only in the names of some points.
Step 1: Setting up your TV
First, you need to connect the TV to the same router that the laptop is connected to.
In addition to the above, if your device supports Wi-Fi Direct, you can connect directly to the TV.
Step 2: Software Settings
This step can be divided into two parts depending on the TV used and its requirements.
Windows Media Player
To play media files from your library from your laptop to your TV, you need to apply special settings for Windows Media Player. Further actions should be performed only if the TV is connected without the manufacturer’s software.
- In the top bar of Windows Media Player, expand the list "Flow" and check the box next to the items indicated in the screenshot.
- Open the list "Arrange" and select "Library Management".
- Here you need to select the type of data you want to import.
- Click on the button "Add".
- Specify the desired directory and click the button "Add folder".
- Click on the button "OK" to save the settings.
- After this, data will appear in the library, which can be accessed from the TV.
Manufacturer software
Many Smart TV manufacturers require the installation of special software to ensure data transfer. In our case, we require the Smart Share program, the download and installation process of which we discussed in another instruction.
Now you can access your files from your TV.
Step 3: Play on TV
This step is the simplest. This is due to the fact that the necessary recommendations are usually added to the standard instructions for working with the TV.
The only limitation you may encounter when using this method is that the laptop must always be turned on. By putting the laptop into sleep or hibernation mode, information streaming will be interrupted.
Option 2: Miracast
Miracast technology allows you to use a Wi-Fi network to wirelessly transmit a signal from a laptop to a TV. Thanks to this approach, you can turn your Smart TV into a full-fledged monitor that displays or expands the laptop desktop.
Step 1: Setting up your TV
Most modern TVs that support Wi-Fi allow you to connect via Miracast without any problems.
Subsequent steps must be performed on a laptop that supports the same technology.
Step 2: Miracast on Laptop
We discussed the process of using Miracast on a computer and laptop in a separate article using Windows 10 as an example. If your laptop supports this connection, then after performing the above steps, the image from the monitor will be displayed on the TV.
You can configure the monitor's operation through the section "Screen resolution" or by pressing the keyboard shortcut "Win+P" on keyboard.

If you don’t have a Smart TV, you can use a special Miracast adapter. This device comes in different models, but in any case it requires HDMI on the TV and, if possible, a USB port.

After completing the steps described, enable Miracast on your computer according to the instructions above. If everything was done correctly, the image from the laptop will be displayed on the TV.
Often, users use a TV as a monitor for a personal computer. If in the case of connecting a conventional monitor to a PC everything is extremely clear, then not everyone knows how to connect your TV so that it works as a monitor. We went even further and in the format of this review we will look at how to connect an LG smart TV to a computer via a wireless network.
The first thing you need to do is make sure that the TV itself is equipped with a wireless connection module, just like a personal computer. Also, if there are several network access points in the apartment, then determine the priority connection for this connection, through which the devices will be connected.
Connecting a TV to a PC as a monitor implies a connection to a video card, that is, in this way you can display the image on the TV screen. Usually, this is an exclusively wired connection, using any available cable that supports the video adapter. However, the topic of the article is devoted specifically to a wireless network, so we will consider options for actions with a router.
Connection
Connect the Internet cable to the router, you will find the required port at the back, it is different from the others in color. After this, turn the device upside down and find the IP address on the factory sticker, which provides access to the settings interface. Enter the address in the search bar of your browser and configure the router according to the instructions, entering all the data from the provider.
- If the wireless connection module is faulty, then your LG TV will not even detect available networks, in which case you may need to repair LG TVs, which is only available to professional service center technicians.
After this, search for available connections on your computer or laptop, select the name of your Internet, enter the password and click “connect”.
Next, go to the TV settings. Select “network” - “wireless connection” - “search for available connections”. In this section, you also choose the name of your Internet and repeat all the steps that you did in the case of the computer.
Now both devices are connected to the wireless network, but nothing will change on your TV screen, that is, it will not start working as a monitor, additional settings are required for this. Depending on the model of equipment, the name of the menu section you need may differ slightly; usually it is “device management”. Here you can find equipment available for connection and synchronize with your LG TV.
Most modern SMART TVs are equipped with at least a LAN port for connecting it to the Internet via a router. At the same time, on TV you can not only surf the Internet, but also watch movies from computers connected to the same network. But not every apartment has a router yet, but I want to watch movies and access the Internet from the TV. What to do? You can connect your TV to your computer via the LAN connector directly. For this we need a network cable.
Comment: A slight difficulty may arise here - a regular “straight” ethernet cable may not be suitable, although modern network cards can somehow “reverse” the cable logically. Then you will need to try a reverse LAN cable (the so-called “Cross-over”).

We check the indicators to see if the devices are linked. After this, we proceed to connecting the TV to the local network. Let's start with the computer's network card.
Settings on the computer:
There are two options for the development of events:
First- it's simple connect the TV via LAN to the computer without Internet access. In this case, you need to register a static IP address on the network computer - let it be 192.168.1.2 with a mask of 255.255.255.0:
On the TV you will also need to register an IP from the same subnet - for example, 192.168.1.3.
Second- This connecting the TV via a computer to the Internet. To do this, your computer or laptop must be connected to the Internet via WiFi or USB modem. Then we will simply use the mechanism built into Windows ICS- Internet Connection Sharing. It allows you to allow access to the global network to local clients. To do this, in the network connections, select the one through which you are connected to the Internet and right-click on it. The connection properties window will open in which we are interested in the “Access” tab:
On it you need to check the box “Allow other network users to use this computer’s Internet connection.” Below you need to select “Local Area Network Connection” or “Ethernet” and click OK. In this case, there is no need to register IP addresses - neither on the network card, nor on the TV - everything will be assigned automatically.
Settings on TV:
Everything is done very simply on TV. As an example, I'll look at an LG TV. On other brands, despite the external differences in the menu, the meaning of the actions is the same - just act in the same way.
Let's go to Settings and go to the section Net:
Select an item Network configuration. A special configuration wizard will open:
Then it all depends on which of the options you have chosen and configured on your computer. If we just connect the computer to the TV via a LAN port, then click on the “Set up connection” button and enter the IP address 192.168.1.3 with mask 255.255.255.0 .
If you took the second path using the ICS mechanism, then simply click on “Next”. Automatic network connection setup will start:
Click on “Close”. That's all - you have successfully connected the TV to your computer via the LAN connector.
