Tablets, mobile phones and other gadgets have entered our lives and now it is difficult to imagine life without them. Now sound devices are also gaining individuality. The JBL line of speakers are compact devices that can be connected to any tablet, phone or laptop in various ways, including via Bluetooth technology. We will look at how to connect a JBL speaker via Bluetooth to a laptop and phone later in this article.

Synchronization using Bluetooth technology is the most common because no additional cords or applications are required to connect. This connection method is standard for all mobile phone operating systems. Most often, a JBL speaker is purchased in order to connect it via Bluetooth. Wherever you are, you can connect to the speaker and enjoy your favorite music or radio station. To do this you need to follow a few simple steps:

Now let's look at connecting the speaker to a laptop with the Windows operating system installed. For this:

Instructions for connecting the speaker to a laptop running Mac OS X

Owners of laptops with an Apple operating system can also connect a JBL speaker. To do this you need to follow a few simple steps:

  • When turned on, Bluetooth technology is powered by the device's battery. If you want to save battery power on your speaker, phone or laptop, you can connect the speaker using a special audio cable with a 3.5 mm plug, which comes with JBL speakers.
  • When connecting the speakers to one of the devices for the first time, keep them at a distance of no further than 1 m. Otherwise, you will not be able to connect them. The maximum signal reception distance can be clarified in the instructions for using the speaker.

Bluetooth technology allows you to wirelessly connect other devices to your computer or laptop - mice, keyboards, smartphones, speakers. Unfortunately, sometimes a convenient connection disappears. Let's figure out how to quickly turn on Bluetooth on a laptop or desktop PC.

Before using bluetooth on your laptop, you need to check its availability. It is impossible to download Bluetooth to a computer, because to establish a wireless connection you need a special Bluetooth adapter. Look for the “Bluetooth” icon or inscription on the laptop; if you don’t find it, check the laptop’s parameters on the Internet. If it turns out that bluetooth is not included in the package, buy an external adapter that plugs into the USB port.

Enable via proprietary utility

Many manufacturers install proprietary software for managing wireless access on laptops. You can launch it through the menu by the name of the manufacturer or using a key combination. Most often on common Acer and Asus it is Fn+F5, if that doesn’t work, find the button with the image of an antenna in the top row and press it together with Fn. A program will appear in which you can easily activate or disable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Sometimes the program does not appear, and to turn on Bluetooth you just need to press a key combination. Watch the network icon in the system tray of the laptop; when connected, the color of the letter will change from red to white.

There are other ways to connect bluetooth on a laptop, but this is the main one and you should start with it, because it physically launches the adapter.

Enable using OS tools

If the radio module is running, try software methods to enable Bluetooth on your computer.

On the back (rear) side of the case there is a USB connector for connecting the speaker to a computer. The built-in battery is charged via a USB cable when connected to a desktop PC or laptop. Above the USB connector there is a battery charge indicator that displays the charging process (in the normal state it does not light up). When charging, if the battery is fully charged, the indicator lights up green. When the charge is low and during charging, the indicator is red. In order to charge the built-in battery, connect the speaker to the computer and wait until the indicator color changes from red to green. This means the speaker battery is fully charged.

Next to the USB connector there is a Micro SD card slot. The SD card must be inserted with the contacts facing up. When turned on, the speaker automatically starts Bluetooth mode, a wireless connection, as indicated by a flashing blue indicator. If, after turning on, you insert an SD card with recorded sound files into the speaker, the speaker automatically starts playing sound from the memory card.

In order to connect a mobile phone, after turning it on, make sure that the speaker is in bluetooth mode and the corresponding blue indicator is on. When there is an incoming call, you will hear a corresponding signal, and you can use the hands-free mode using the “pick up handset” button. For full operation, the speaker has a built-in microphone.

You can also connect a player that does not have bluetooth functionality to the MP3/MP4 speaker. To do this, use the cable supplied to connect the player's output to the AUX jack of the speaker. To complete the connection, you need to press the “MODE” button at the bottom of the speaker; an orange (red) indicator above the AUX jack will light up, indicating that the connection to the player is currently active. Through the connected player you can listen to both music and FM radio. In the same way, using a cable, you can connect the speaker to the output of the sound card of a desktop computer.

Let me start with the fact that almost every laptop has a built-in Bluetooth module. Not even on the newest models. This means that Bluetooth on a laptop should work without installing additional devices. I will introduce USB adapters that are necessary for desktop computers. Since there simply is no built-in module. Although, some motherboards already have built-in Bluetooth.

In this article I will try to show in detail how to enable Bluetooth on a laptop. How to do this in the operating system Windows 10, Windows 8 (8.1) and Windows 7. I will also show you how to set up a wireless module and connect different devices to your laptop. I have a mouse and wireless headphones connected to my laptop via Bluetooth. Very comfortably. You can also connect, for example, a wireless speaker, keyboard, mobile phone, etc.

All that is needed for Bluetooth to work on a laptop is the installed driver. The driver must be downloaded and installed from the official website of the laptop manufacturer. For your model and installed Windows system. But don’t rush to go to the manufacturer’s website and download drivers. It is quite possible that you already have everything installed and working. Especially if you have Windows 10 installed. As a rule, it installs the necessary drivers itself. Then you just need to turn on Bluetooth in the laptop settings and you can use it.

Where to find Bluetooth on a laptop and how to turn it on?

Most likely, you already have everything turned on and everything is working. Regardless of Windows installed, if the Bluetooth driver is installed, there will be a blue “Bluetooth Devices” icon in the notification panel. This means it is turned on and ready to go. Check on your laptop. In rare cases, this icon may be disabled in Settings.

By clicking on this icon, you can perform various operations: add a device, show connected devices, receive/send a file, configure the adapter itself, etc.

If you don’t have such an icon, then there are three options:

  1. Bluetooth is disabled on the laptop and needs to be turned on.
  2. Removed the BT icon itself from the notification panel.
  3. Or the required driver is not installed.

Let's try to turn it on.

BT on Windows 10

The easiest way is to open the notification center and click on the corresponding button.

Or go to the settings, then to the "Devices" section, and on the "Bluetooth and other devices" tab, turn on the module with the slider.

I wrote a separate article on Windows 10: . After this, an icon should appear in the notification panel, as I showed above.

How to connect the device?

Click on "Add Bluetooth or other device" and select the appropriate item in the next window.

Turn on Bluetooth on a laptop with Windows 8 and 8.1

Opening the side panel (you can use the keyboard shortcut Windows + C) and select "Options". Next, click on “Change computer settings.” Go to the "Bluetooth" section and turn on the module with the switch.

Windows will begin searching for available devices to connect to.

An icon should appear on the notification panel through which you can manage connections.

How to activate Bluetooth in Windows 7?

If there is no blue icon in the notification panel, then go to “Network and Sharing Center” – “Change adapter settings” and see if the “Bluetooth Network Connection” adapter is there. If not, then install the driver for your laptop model, or check for the presence of an adapter in the device manager (more on this later in the article). And if there is, then see if it is turned on. It may need to be enabled on the laptop.

How to connect the device?

Click on the "Bluetooth" icon and select "Add a device..."

A new window will open, in which connect your device following the instructions.

Or go to the "Control Panel", in the "Devices and Printers" section. And click on the "Add device" button. You can also open the properties of "Bluetooth Adapter" and enable the display of the icon in the notification area. This will make it easier to connect and manage devices.

How to check and enable Bluetooth in Device Manager on a laptop?

If you cannot find Bluetooth on your laptop, there are no settings, adapter, buttons, icons, etc., then most likely the necessary drivers are not installed. You need to go to device manager and check this. Or maybe you just need to use a BT adapter.

Open Device Manager. You can right-click on My Computer and select Properties. In the new window, go to "Device Manager". Or press the keyboard shortcut Win+R and run the command devmgmt.msc.

There you should see a "Bluetooth" section (may be called differently in Windows 7), which will contain the module itself (the name may also be different). This is what I have on my laptop:

If it exists, but with an "arrow" (icon next to the adapter), then just right-click on it and select “Engage”.

Perhaps you don’t have anything similar to Blues in your device manager. In this case, you need to download and install the driver.

Go to the official website of your laptop manufacturer. Using the search (or menu), find your model, and in the “Support”, “Downloads”, etc. sections, download the driver for the Bluetooth module. Install it, restart your laptop and after that everything should work.

Good day, if you are reading this text, it means a) you were able to access the Internet; b) you cannot connect speakers to your laptop. In this article I will tell you how to do this carefully and quickly.

How to connect speakers to a laptop directly

Is it possible connect speakers to laptop directly? The answer is YES. And so we look for a special cord with a green plug at the end of the speakers. (Interestingly, for convenience, the audio connectors are colored: speakers - green; microphone - pink; sound monitors - red and black)

If you find such a plug, then read the paragraph to the end, if not, then you have a BLUETOOTH speaker, more about it below.

We look at the ends of the laptop for a connector with a headphone notch pattern and insert our plug here. And Vaulya has working speakers.

How to connect bluetooth speakers to a laptop

To do this, turn on the speakers and turn on bluetooth on the laptop. Next, we need our computer to find our speakers. Click on the SEARCH FOR DEVICE button on your computer (Bluetooth section). We wait. If you did everything correctly, then in the list of possible connections you will enter the name of the speakers. Click on the name and select connect. ALL!

If you do not see the NAMES of the columns in the list, then check everything again and repeat again.

Another reason may be that for the correct operation of the speakers on your laptop (or computer), you need “special” programs. If you find a DISC along with the speakers, then first you should install the program that is recorded on this disk, and then follow the advice on the screen.

I wish you success and inspiration!!
