Actually, I have quite a lot of computers that do not have a local network or Internet. Flash drives are plugged into them, the antivirus program is DrWeb. Tried updating from via USB modem, which was plugged into computers. Internet speed is also important for updating, because... My antivirus was not updated with EDGE. The question arose: How can the anti-virus databases be updated on them? Or perhaps the antivirus program itself? The issue was resolved with the help of DrWeb technical support. I quote here:

In this case, you can try to make the first update using a more stable channel (from any other PC). those. act in accordance with the instructions:

On a computer with access to the Internet, run the following actions(you will need administrative privileges on this computer for this):

First, let's plug it into the computer with fast internet flash drive and see what letter it has. It is known that according to Windows default assigns the first free letter, i.e. if C, D and E are busy, then the flash drive will have the letter F. But if we have already inserted one flash drive, then it will be assigned the letter F, and the flash drive on which the anti-virus databases will be assigned will be assigned the letter following the letter F in the English alphabet, i.e. .e. G. In short:

1.Right-click on “My Computer” or “Computer” (depending on Windows versions) and select “Management”

2. In the Left column, click on “Disk Management”, left-click on our flash drive, then right click and select in context menu"Change drive letter or drive path." Choose the letter you like from the free ones. In my example, the letter “V” is already selected

4. Create a directory for the mirror. For example: "V:\drwebupdate\mirror"

5. Copy the following files from the antivirus directory to the directory for the update program (by default, the antivirus is installed in the C:\Program Files\DrWeb directory):
DrWebUpW.exe
drweb32.key
update.drl

6. Launch the update utility (DrWebUpW.exe) from the “V:\drwebupdate\” directory with the required parameter “/UA”.

V:\drwebupdate\DrWebUpW.exe /GO /UA /DIR:V:\drwebupdate\mirror /rp+V:\drwebupdate\drwebupw.log
where V:\drweb\drwebupdate is the folder in which the mirror will be created
V:\drwebupdate\drwebupw.log — mirroring/updating log.

7. Click the “OK” button, agree to make changes on the computer and wait for the update to complete.

8. Create a shortcut and put it on your desktop, or hang it in Total Commander, the launch command in the properties of which will be V:\drwebupdate\DrWebUpW.exe /GO /UA /DIR:V:\drwebupdate\mirror /rp+V:\drwebupdate\drwebupw.log

P.S. If you create a DrWeb folder on a flash drive and put the drwebupdate folder in it, which already contains a mirror (in my case), then the launch path will be: V:\DrWeb\drwebupdate\DrWebUpW.exe /GO /UA /DIR:V :\DrWeb\drwebupdate\mirror /rp+V:\DrWeb\drwebupdate\drwebupw.log

In the DrWeb directory you can put the DrWeb distribution itself, the keys, as well as the DrWeb removal tool, because there are different cases. At the same time, this directory will also contain anti-virus databases.

II. Updating the antivirus program on a computer without the Internet.

1. We plug our flash drive with updates into a computer without the Internet or network.

2. Right-click on DrWeb in the tray, select “Update” - then in the “Settings” window - and in the settings click on “Use update mirror”. We follow the path to the folder X:\drwebupdate\mirror - where “X” is the letter of the flash drive on this computer.

3. Click “OK” and “Update” again. DrWeb will update and report that the virus databases have been updated to such and such a date.

If we have several computers in a local mini-local area without the Internet, then the principle is the same:

1. On the computer into which the flash drive with the databases is inserted, open network access to the directory for the update mirror (“X:\drwebupdate\mirror”) with a read-only attribute - where “X” is the letter of the flash drive on this computer, or the letter that we assigned to the flash drive on this machine.

2. On the computers being updated, in the settings of the update utility (DrWebUpW.exe), you must set the path to the mirror folder, for example:
\\drwebupdate-pc\mirror - where drwebupdate-pc is “the name of the computer_on_which_updates”, and “mirror” is network name update directory.

With the advent new feature Dr.web “Update Mirror” updating computers that do not have Internet access has been greatly simplified (see news). Previously, it was also possible to update virus databases on computers without access to the network by creating an update mirror, but then such a procedure was much more complicated and could cause difficulties, especially for inexperienced users. Now everything is much simpler.

In what situations might it be necessary to update databases through a mirror? Well, for example, if you have access to the Internet at work, but not at home, or the traffic is expensive. Also, if you have a local network and access to the Internet, by various reasons, is carried out from only one machine. In general, as follows from this topic, in all cases when your machine cannot access the Internet.

Let's look at how to use this wonderful new opportunity antivirus program Dr.Web. First of all, you need to install the latest version of the Dr.Web antivirus (you can select the version and download the Dr.Web antivirus on the page “Download Dr.Web antivirus for free”. If you already have version 7 of the Dr.Web antivirus installed, the update will occur automatically and all you have to do is find the appropriate tools in it, which we will discuss below.

Don't forget that to access settings in Windows system 7 (Vista) you need to switch to administrative mode. To see the new tools we are talking about, you need to right-click on the Dr.web icon in the system tray (in the lower right corner of the screen). In the menu that appears, select “Tools” → “Settings” and go to the “Update” tab. On this tab we will see the new tools we are looking for. The screenshots below show pictures of this window and, for comparison, the same window in an earlier version.

The first group of elements (1) is a tool for creating an update mirror, and the second (2) is for specifying the source of updates.

Now let's move on to the mechanism for updating anti-virus databases on computers without an Internet connection. We will need one computer that is connected to the Internet and another, respectively, without an Internet connection. Let us remind you that both machines must have the most installed latest version Dr.Web programs. On a computer with an Internet connection, you must enable the option to create an update mirror. To do this, in the group of elements1 (see previous figure), click the “Change” button (1):

This way, with each update, the mirror will be systematically updated. Now let's move on to the machine on which we will update using the update mirror we created.

On the computer where the update is required, you need to go to the Settings menu and the Update tab, as shown in the first picture. Only now we are interested in the group of elements “Update Source”

Click the “Change” button (1) and in the “Update Source” window that appears, specify the path to the folder that we use as an update mirror. Moreover this folder can be located on a local network, on a computer that is connected to the Internet, or a flash drive can act as such a folder. The only important thing here is that it contains all the files that were created in the mirror folder on a computer connected to the Internet during the update. Next, click “OK” in the “Update Source” window and then “OK” or “Apply” in the “Dr.Web Settings” window, thereby completing the configuration of the update source. Now you need to perform the update itself from the local update mirror. Actually, this process is no different from the usual one, except for the fact that the files for updating are taken by the antivirus not on the program server on the Internet, but on a local mirror.

You, with the same success, can copy the files located in the update mirror folder to a flash drive and transfer them anywhere: home, to another floor, to another building, etc. Specify your flash drive as the source of updates and thus you can update any computer.

As you can see, now the process of updating your computer locally turns into a not at all complicated procedure.

Sincerely, your Konstantin Makarych.

Dr.Web antivirus versions 10 and 11 are updated in a similar way. Click on the Dr.Web icon in the system tray, click on the “lock” and click on the “gear”:

In the program settings, on the "Basic" tab, in the "Update" menu, click on the "Advanced settings" link:

After this, the “Update Mirror” item will appear in which you need to set the switch to the “On” position:

Specify the path to the directory where antivirus updates will be downloaded:

Run an antivirus update. The virus database will be copied to the directory you specified:

Then, copy the update folder to another computer. In the Dr.Web anti-virus settings, on a computer without access to the Internet, on the "Basic" tab, in the "Update" menu, click on the "Change" link in the "Update source" field:

In the "Specify an update source that is convenient for you" field, click the "Browse" button and find the update folder copied from another computer:

Click "OK". During the next update, the Dr.Web virus database will be updated from the folder you specified.
