Good luck to everyone!
Just a few hours ago the problem with iMessage activation& FaceTime with the operator from the subject (check!), when a new one immediately surfaced...
Has gained new iPhone 5c, inserted SIM card Megafon S-Z(St. Petersburg) and did not automatically receive operator settings via the cellular network: network settings/data transfer/answering machine, etc. (although on the previous iPhone 5 I always received everything automatically, I didn’t change the SIM card).
I called Apple Care and they replied that for the new phones 5c and 5s there have been some changes in the firmware and data from the operator is now received by the device in some other format. Those. operators need to send them some other way. They also noted that before official release of these devices in Russia, it is difficult for them to comment on what is happening at Megafon. At the same time, they said that MTS and Beeline should not have such problems on new devices (for obvious reasons).
Well, what to do, I entered the settings manually - the Internet and mms work. But the sad thing is this...
1) the operator’s logo is now MegaFon RUS (it was simple and neat MegaFon) - takes up a lot of space in the upper left corner and constantly moves left and right (I know that Megafon sends the operator’s display to MegaFon over the network)
2) the answering machine does not work, in the Phone application, when you click on the corresponding button, a message appears on the screen - see screenshot (as you know, enter it manually in the settings iPhone phones impossible)
3) if you go to Settings->Phone-> there is no item (if I don’t confuse the name) “MegaFon Services”, where there was an answering machine, rescue service, etc. (see screenshot)
4) maybe something else, I unfortunately don’t know, the entire list of settings that the operator sends via the cellular network to subscribers when they install a SIM card in a new device
That is, roughly speaking, the phone did not automatically accept the settings from the operator via the cellular network (because apparently it does not understand them now) and they naturally were not registered in the device for correct operation(Let me remind you that on iPhone 5, with the same SIM card, all settings were accepted correctly).
There is confirmation that the 5s has the same canoe.
+ on top of that, every time you connect 5c to your computer (it started immediately after successful activation), iTunes displays a window asking you to update the operator settings (see screenshot). Well, if you remember, it was like this on early firmware, the tuna downloaded the MegaFon_ru.ipcc file from Apple servers and uploaded it to the device. Naturally fill in/don't fill in - it didn't help, because... As far as I know, starting from iOS 4.0, operator settings come automatically via cellular network when a SIM card is inserted into a new device.
It’s clear that it’s just stupid to wait, but I wonder how things are going for you, dear owners of the new 5c and 5s phones?!?! Megafon St. Petersburg is of course most interested. Well, any thoughts on the topic, welcome...
Thank you for your attention!
