No emails are being sent to my email address. The letter does not arrive

Hello, friends!

In this article I will tell you my experience of how I got rid of spam on mail.ru. This problem can affect everyone now, and has already affected many. This is especially true for those who are engaged in information business, attract subscribers and then send letters to them (). That is why I am publishing this article.

For about 2 weeks I could not send a single letter to mail.ru mailboxes. Moreover, from 3 mailboxes. I understand if my letters ended up in spam, but the letters did not even reach the mailbox, and only sometimes I received an error message from mail.ru:

Please note that I sent a letter to my mail.ru mailbox.

Moreover, similar message it only came to me when I sent emails from email to Gmail [email protected].. And I was absolutely sure that my letters would reach the readers. But, as it turned out later, for about 2 weeks readers with mailboxes on mail.ru simply did not receive my letters. Moreover, both informational and paid courses, after purchase.

Imagine you made a purchase on the Internet, but received nothing in response (although the letters were sent). You write to technical support for the first time - you don’t receive anything in response (although the letter has been sent to you).

You write again, this time an angry letter, another response is sent to you, but you again do not receive it. Because mail.ru simply decided that you should not receive this letter. He neither delivered the letter to you nor informed me that the letter had not been delivered.

As a result, the buyer became nervous and dissatisfied with the seller, and the seller’s reputation suffered a little.

By the way, during these 2 weeks I found out that I have more than 50% of my readers who have mailboxes on mail.ru. And this surprised me quite a bit. I recommend Gmail inboxes to everyone. Better and more convenient has not yet been invented. .

Use mail from Yandex. It is also a very convenient and competent mail service that is constantly evolving.

So, after I finally realized that not a single letter of mine was getting through to mail.ru boxes, I became seriously worried. First, I realized that letters sent from the mailbox were not going through [email protected]. But then I had no idea that letters from the SA@site mailbox, and, moreover, from my personal mailbox, where I send letters only to my family and friends, were not getting through.

And I, naturally, wrote to mail.ru. Below I give full correspondence with mail.ru employees (the correspondence is slightly compressed in height, but nothing was cut from the text).

What surprised me about mail.ru technical support is that 3 people talked to me(and this despite the fact that only 4 letters were sent to me). And, besides, the correspondence was simply interrupted at the request of mail.ru employees. Further, they simply did not want to answer.

BUT, approximately after a week the problem was solved, but not completely. Now the letters are going through normally.

And most importantly, I figured out what was wrong myself, having spent a lot of time and sifted through a lot of information on the Internet.

It turns out that in February 2013, mail.ru introduced some new mail filtering algorithms. And these algorithms did not miss links to unverified sites.

A mail.ru employees, of course, could not tell me this. It was necessary to have some crazy options with zip archives and rar tell me. Imagine that I send you a letter stating:

  1. Download the attached file to this letter to your computer
  2. Unzip this file
  3. Open file
  4. Follow the link

P.S. If you do not have an archiver installed, then you need to find it on the Internet, download, install, and understand it.

On the Internet, everything goes, on the contrary, towards simplification, towards ensuring that everything is done in as few clicks as possible, and, if possible, in one click. But mail.ru seems to have its own view on this situation.

Mail.ru still needs to say THANK YOU..ru finally started to let us through. Thank you very much for this.

I really hope that Elena S., or Pavel K., or Yulia S. helped fix this problem, and simply forgot to write back to me. Otherwise, it’s generally unclear why they are sitting there if they could neither tell me what the problem was nor solve it.

And THANK YOU, my readers. I sure that this problem It was resolved thanks to you.

And if you need subscribers, we will help. We'll do as much as we need. How we attract subscribers is described in great detail.

Sometimes light shines through the gray everyday life of a system administrator when it is possible to solve a non-standard user problem. One day, a user complained that his corporate Mailbox It’s as if he’s frozen and doesn’t want to accept letters at all. To find the cause of the failure, it was decided to send an email to the user short message. As a result, the server responded with an interesting message.

If you look at the picture, you can clearly see the message quota exceeded, which means nothing more than the volume of mail has been exceeded, that is, no more letters can be crammed into it because the quota has been exceeded.

The solution to the problem is quite obvious. You need to somehow clean up your cluttered mail, and set up a rule in the settings that allows you to delete unnecessary letters in automatic mode to always have free space for new letters. This can only be done manually via the web interface mail client. IN in this case System Administrator I used the address mail.cbx.ru. After clicking on the link, a form opens that must be filled in with your username and password. Email, where exceeding the quota is detected.

Then, going to the user's mail program on his computer, you need to configure the storage of letters. In our case we're talking about About the program - Windows Mail included in the package Windows programs Live. We are interested in the “Advanced” tab, where you need to find the “Delivery” section. There is an option that means that copies of letters remain stored on the server if it is checked. You just have to take it off green tick, how we will immediately oblige the mail to delete all copies, leaving more space for new mail user.

However, a different situation arises when one box is used for different computers, for example, at home and in the office. Then you should set a different order: leave new correspondence on the server for a certain number of days, but how Alternative option, provide for deletion only after moving letters to the trash. The second option allows you to remove unnecessary emails from the server immediately when emptying your trash through the interface mail program Windows.

Problems with receiving mail on a domain may occur if:

  • domain registration has expired;
  • the domain is blocked by the registrar;
  • the domain has not been delegated or has been withdrawn from delegation by the registrar;
  • delegation settings are not configured correctly;
  • DNS records for Yandex.Mail are not configured or configured incorrectly.

To resolve problems with receiving emails, contact your domain administrator. It was he who provided you with mailboxes. The Mail for Domain support service will not be able to help you in this situation.

If you registered your mailbox on a specific site, then contact the support service of that site.

DNS records

Most often, problems with receiving mail are caused by incorrect setting MX records.

The MX record points to the server that accepts mail for your domain. In order for your mail to be processed by the Yandex server, the MX record must point to it. For more information about setting up an MX record, see the MX record section.

You can check whether the MX record is configured correctly using the dig utility (For example, http://www.ip-ping.ru or http://www.digwebinterface.com):

Select the MX record type and run the request.

If the MX record is configured correctly, the response will be something like this:

Yourdomain.tld. 21521 IN MX 10 mx.yandex.net.

Possible problems:

The server does not respond to the request or the value does not match the desired one. This means that either the changes did not take effect, or the MX record was configured incorrectly.

In addition to the Yandex MX record, the request was responded to by MX records pointing to third-party servers.

To resolve this issue, delete the entries about third party servers. To do this, go to the section DNS management, in which you configured the Yandex MX record.

The entry in the server response looks like "mx.yandex.net.yourdomain.tld.". You must add a dot at the end of the MX record value: “mx.yandex.net.” .

Domain registration has expired

After the domain registration period expires, the registrar removes the domain from delegation or delegates it to blocking servers.

You can check domain delegation information using the service http://www.whois.com or http://www.whois-service.ru.

In field:

    state: (Status: or Domain Status: ) you can check the status of the domain;

    Name Server: or nserver: (there must be two or more) - to which servers the domain is delegated;

Expiration Date: (paid-till: , Domain Expiration Date: or Expires On: ) - when the domain registration expires.

If NS servers are specified:

NS1.VERIFICATION-HOLD.SUSPENDED-DOMAIN.COM NS2.VERIFICATION-HOLD.SUSPENDED-DOMAIN.COM

Contact your registrar's support team. The registrar blocked the domain because the administrator did not confirm the contact email address.

If NS servers are specified:

Blocked1.nic.ru. (ns1.expired.r01.ru. or exp1.nameself.com.) blocked2.nic.ru. (ns2.expired.r01.ru. or exp2.nameself.com.)

Find out from the registrar why the domain is blocked. As a rule, this is due to the expiration of the domain registration period.

If your domain has been delegated and its registration period has not yet expired, you can proceed to checking the DNS.

Delegation settings

If the domain registration has not expired and the domain is delegated, check the DNS using the dig utility (For example, http://www.ip-ping.ru or http://www.digwebinterface.com):

Make sure that the "NS" request is answered by the same NS servers that are listed in the Whois information about the domain.

Enter your domain name (“yourdomain.tld”) as the site address.

Select the NS record type and run the query.

If the NS servers specified at the registrar respond, then the delegation settings are correct.

If there is no response or other NS servers respond, it means the changes have not yet taken effect or the delegation settings have not been completed correctly. For example, when delegating a domain, an error was made in the names of the NS servers at the registrar or the zone for your domain was not configured on the servers to which the domain was delegated.

If not only the NS servers specified by the registrar respond, it means that third-party NS records have been added to the servers to which the domain is delegated. For correct operation Mail for a domain, the domain should be delegated to the servers of only one company. Delegation should only be done in the Registrar control panel.

Domain settings are correct

If you are sure that the domain registration has not expired and all its settings are correct, look for possible reason in the Yandex.Mail Help section.

Notification letters from the site do not arrive in mailboxes

Check your domain settings according to the instructions above.

Contact the administrator of the server on which the site is located. Ask to configure the server correctly. The server on which the site is located may recognize the domain as local and try to send letters to the internal directory.

Check if it is activated by your hosting provider or registrar postal service for your domain. For Mail to work correctly for a domain, this service must be disabled.

You can configure sending emails via the Yandex SMTP server - “smtp.site”. To do this use:

    port “465” with data encryption via SSL;

mandatory authentication on the server (you must specify the full address of the mailbox that will be used for sending).

To avoid problems with the delivery of letters, you need to take into account.

From time to time (but permanent basis) I get asked questions related to receiving e-mail letters, or rather with non-receipt. People write that they stopped receiving letters (usually from a certain address), although they were sure that these letters should have reached them.

One example is my letters. It happens that my subscribers received one or two letters, and then there was silence, although they did not unsubscribe from the mailing list.

In this lesson, I will talk about the main reason why letters do not reach the recipient, and I will show how you can solve this problem in just a couple of minutes.

First of all, let's talk about why emails aren't being delivered. So…

Each of us has a certain one, and therefore uses some kind of email service - for example, Mail.ru, Gmail, etc. (usually the name of the service is indicated in the address after the @ icon). And every self-respecting email service tries with all its might to fight spam, i.e. by using special programs(spam filters) tries to block junk mail(usually advertising).

Spam filters are different (soft and hard, smart and not so smart), and therefore sometimes they make mistakes and can classify a “normal” letter as spam. For this reason, such a letter can, for example, be moved to separate folder, marked as SPAM or even deleted.

Meanwhile, an unsuspecting novice user looks for letters among incoming correspondence (usually the “Inbox” folder) and naturally does not find the expected letters there.

What to do in such a situation?

Everything is very simple!

First of all, go to your mailbox (mail service) and check all the folders that we have, and Special attention turn to the folder Spam, which is among other folders in almost every email service (in the photo this is the Gmail service):

There is a high probability that the expected letters are located in this folder (unless, of course, they have already been deleted). Let's go to this folder and check.

If our letter is here, then you just need to select (1) the right letter(or several letters) and then press the button Not spam (2):

Perhaps in the email service you use, it will look different, but the actions will be approximately the same and the meaning will not change - a letter from a folder Spam will be moved to the folder Inbox.

In addition, if a training spam filter is installed in the mail service (in Lately there are more and more of them), then he will remember your choice and next time the letter from this sender will not be placed in spam. Although it is possible that the spam filter will need to be trained several times in this way.

Often such simple actions It's already enough to prevent important mail from going to spam, but sometimes this doesn't help, and useful emails continue to be sent to spam.

In this case, you need to act even more decisively and simply create your own filters for incoming mail. In other words, you have to give postal service specific instructions regarding specific letters.

I will show how this can be done using the settings in Gmail service(mail from Google) and in the service from Yandex. I think that these two examples will be enough to understand the principle of operation, so if you use another service, you can certainly do the same at your place.

Let's start with Gmail.

We go to the mail and on the right top corner We are looking for the gear icon, which is responsible for the settings. Click it and select the item in the menu that appears Settings:

After that, create the desired filter.

If we want all mail to pass through normally from a certain address, then we just need to specify required address in field From ( those. indicate “From” the letters should come).

In the next window, we need to indicate what exactly needs to be done with letters coming from the previously specified address. As you can see, there are several options here and among them is the one we need - Never send to spam:

Check the box and click Create filter, after which we see that the filter has been created and its description is present in the list of created filters:

If necessary, we can create other filters in the same way by clicking the link Create a new filter.

As you can see, nothing complicated! Filters are created in much the same way in other services.

Let's look at an example with Yandex mail.

The beginning is the same! We look for an entrance to the service settings using the menu item of the same name (also in the upper right corner):

In this section, you can configure the service so that incoming letters are sorted into required folders, forwarded to another address or simply deleted. In addition, here you can set up an autoresponder or manually create a black and white list.

All mail from blacklisted addresses will not be sent to our mailbox, and mail from whitelisted addresses will not be placed in SPAM.

This is exactly what we need! Specify the desired address in the section White list and press the button Add:

After this we see that new address appeared in the white list.

If any of the addresses in the list need to be deleted, then simply put a tick next to this address and press the button Remove from list:

That's it for spam filters!

I hope that you understand everything on this issue, and now you can configure your mailing address so that everyone can reach you important letters. Well, if you wish, then using settings and creating filters you can also sort incoming mail, filter out explicit advertising and etc.

In addition, I would like to draw your attention to such a seemingly banal thing as overflowing mailbox. This is also one of the reasons why you may not receive the letter you need!

Check your mailbox - maybe the letters simply no longer fit in it, and if this is the case, then simply delete all old and unnecessary messages.

One of the common email problems is the inability to receive emails. This can happen due to many reasons. This mainly happens due to incorrect user actions.

And if you don’t know why emails aren’t coming to Mail.ru, then you’ve come to the right place. Here we will look at the main reasons for this and help you solve them.

So why don't we see new letters?

1. Technical work

The most common problem is engineering works on mail.ru servers. Usually developers report them. In this case, you just need to wait for the service to resume.

2. Running out of free space

The second most common reason is insufficient memory to store letters.
Although, when you registered, you most likely saw that an “unlimited” mailbox was provided. Actually this is not true. To verify this, follow the link https://e.mail.ru/settings/mailboxsize.

You will see the total amount of memory and how much has been used. As you can see, 10GB is provided free space. Accordingly, as soon as it is full, you will stop receiving letters.

To continue working, you just need to delete old letters. Don't forget that they all go into the basket first. To free up memory, you need to clear it too. To do this, on the left side, next to the words “Trash” there is a button “Empty”. Click on it.

Attention! All messages from the trash can are deleted without the possibility of recovery.

3. Emails end up in spam

If the senders tell you that everything was sent successfully. But you still don’t see the letters. They most likely end up in Spam. To verify this, click on the appropriate section.

The solution to this problem is to set up a special filter that will add trusted addresses to the Inbox folder.

To create it, go to “Mail Settings”. Click on the name of your Mail.ru mailbox and see the corresponding menu item

In the window that opens, select “Filtering Rules”

Next, click “Add filter”

1. Add a trusted address that will go to the “Inbox” folder
2. If you need to add several addresses, then click “Add condition”
3. Select the folder into which letters from the selected addresses will go.
4. Click save.

All is ready.

4. The authorization page appears when opening emails.

To solve this problem, go to the “Passwords and Security” section, also by clicking on the name of your mailbox.

In the next window, uncheck the box next to “Session from only one IP address.” Most likely you will have it installed.

This function allows you to prevent access to your mail from other computers. But this is convenient when your provider uses static IP addresses and you work from only one PC. In other cases, we do not recommend enabling this service.

These methods will help restore the functionality of your mail. Now you know what to do if you don’t receive emails at Mail.ru.
