Is it possible to restore ringtones from an old iPhone? How to find purchased ringtones in iTunes

Hello! Just recently we installed our own ringtone on iPhone and, despite all the difficulties, we still managed to do it. But a person’s tastes are constantly changing - for example, I’m already tired of the song that I recently set to ringtone. I want, you know, something new!

Well, creating something new is not a problem (), but what to do with an old ringtone that is no longer needed? There are not many options - leave or delete. If left, it will take up precious internal memory. Therefore, we will delete it. And here again, with Apple, everything is not as it should be with people.

Why? Because it's not serious at all...

You can't just delete a ringtone from your iPhone. Well, there is no such option in the iPhone settings!

What then? Now I’ll tell you and show you everything. Go!

We will only consider official way(no jailbreaks or other nonsense). After all, jailbreak is practically “dead”, but this method removing ringtones will live forever :)

As usual, in order for the information to be as truthful and verified as possible personal experience, I will do all the manipulations with you.

So, I have two “extra” ringtones on my iPhone:

  1. Made and uploaded yourself via iTunes.
  2. Purchased from official iTunes store Store. The price, by the way, is 22 rubles! But for Kipelov, even “fifty dollars” is not a pity :)

Task: remove these ringtones.

Now let's go for sure!

Step 1 (connect iPhone to iTunes). There should be no problems here - we take the cable (preferably the original one), connect the iPhone to the computer and launch iTunes.

Step 2 (very important point!). After launch iTunes Click on the phone image in the upper left corner.

And then, at the very bottom, check the box next to “Process music and videos manually” and click “Apply”.

Step 3 (open sound controls). We don’t go anywhere and look at the left side menu - we are interested in the “Sounds” line. Select it - a list of all ringtones that have been downloaded to your iPhone appears on the right.

Step 4 (removing ringtones). Click on any of these ringtones right click mouse, select “Remove from library” and click “Synchronize”.

All! We take the iPhone in our hands, open “Settings - Sounds, tactile signals - Ringtone” and see that this sound is no longer there. Hooray! Although...

Some problems can always arise - where would we be without them? :) And here’s what you can do if the instructions described above do not help:

  • Try installing a different build of iTunes. The fact is that latest versions programs (12.7 and older) are “stripped down” - Apple has removed many functions from them. Therefore, with its help we try to remove the ringtone.
  • Try to erase the sound using the same program through which it was originally downloaded to the iPhone. Because if the ringtone was set using third party program(for example, iFunBox), then iTunes may not be able to remove such ringtones.

Still nothing works? Well, you can always ask a question in the comments (preferably, describing your situation in more or less detail) - let’s try to figure out the problem together!

It’s strange, but this is the second time I’ve encountered the fact that a previously purchased ringtone disappears from the iPhone 5S. It seems that in my case it is related to switching off and on mobile device.

Unlike music or movies, which you still need to try hard to delete on iOS devices, ringtones, as well as sounds and audiobooks, may well disappear without a trace. All conditions have been created for this. I don’t know what the developers were guided by, but if you go to iTunes Store on the iPhone and select “More” → “Shopping”, the displayed list of sections is, to put it mildly, surprising. It has no ringtones! It turns out that there is nowhere to even look for them.

This time we have a reader whose order was completed has apparently disappeared. But this does not mean that these tones are gone forever! All my friends and family members had a ringtone assigned to them. Or would it be best to do full recovery? It's never fun when files disappear after a software update.

Luckily, you may have some available options. Select this type. If the same thing happens to you, don't worry. This page may help you if you encounter a problem.

Allows you to selectively select specific ringtones that you want to recover for recovery.

There are no ringtones in the music section.

Alternatively, some people recommend looking for lost ringtones in iTunes Store in downloads. However, if you have already downloaded a ringtone before and you used it for some time, and then it disappeared, then there is no point in coming here.

Select the "Advanced" tab, select the "Purchased" option and click "Tones." It may differ slightly or significantly from other versions or products. In general, there are two options for restoring a purchased ringtone.

The first is if you use an iPhone with a MacOS/Windows computer and synchronize data. In this case, you can simply sync your previously made purchases.

First, close the application and restart your device! It appears that the application may have become corrupted during the download process. Uninstalling and reinstalling usually resolves corrupted downloads.

  • Find the application and drag it to the trash.
  • You will be prompted to enter your password to successfully uninstall the application.
Because of this, apps for each platform must be developed from scratch and sold separately through their respective stores, i.e.

How can I restore my in-app purchase without paying again?

Don't worry, you won't have to pay anymore. After logging in, select Restore. To check using Control Center, swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and find the Bell icon. Tap anywhere on the screen to close the Dock. If yes, then we are here to help. It's very annoying to see the tones you've acquired suddenly disappear, isn't it? First let me tell you a few reasons why ringtones disappear.

The second is to find in your e-mail a letter with a receipt from the iTunes Store for the purchased ringtone. Such receipts are common after any purchases in Apple store. They indicate the order ID, as well as the contents of the order. Moreover, for each purchased item there is a “Report a problem” link. The loss of a ringtone is a reason to use such a link.

This problem causes the phone to reboot or even update the phone! So, here's how you can return your purchased ringtones and restore all the ringtones you want. Here are some steps to back up your data. The device will be displayed and recognized in the main window. You can remove all unwanted elements. Step 5 In case of data loss, update or new device, you can easily get backup files and get your valuable data back.

Keep this in mind that restoring ringtone will restore the entire music file instead of restoring just the ringtone. The computer will recognize your device and it will appear in the main window. Step 2 Tap the Toolbox tab and look at the Recovery and backup" Remove the recovery device and restore necessary files from a backup.

By clicking on the link we are taken to the official website, where you will need to log in using your Apple ID. After this, we immediately find ourselves on the page for filling out the “Report a problem” form. The product with which the problem occurred is indicated.

Now click next to start the recovery procedure. The procedure is very simple. Step 2 Tap the music icon at the top of the interface and enter music windows as the default page. Or you can push music on the sidebar to the left.

At this point, you will be able to select a specific part of the song to make a ringtone. When choosing a period for music, you need to click on listen to the melody to view the part you selected for final confirmation. Step 2 Select the "Advanced" tab and select the "Purchased" option.

Simply select the topic from the drop-down list: “The content was not downloaded, or it cannot be found”, below we briefly describe the problem, for example: “The ringtone has disappeared from my phone.” Click “Send”.

This message will trigger a re-download of the product. True, this does not happen instantly, but you won’t have to wait forever either. After about 5 minutes, you can check the ringtone on your iPhone; it should be available for selection in the sound settings.

Step 3 Select each ringtone you want to download and click the "Download" icon. Photo: Cult Mac. It's just not clear how to do this. The next time you sync, the files must be copied.

Inside you will find everything still untouched.

At the top right column you can click the link to the Tonality Store or click "Download all purchased tones". The latter will do what it says and your acquired tones should now be restored.

If this does not happen, then go to iTunes Store in the “More” → “Downloads” section, the ringtone will probably be downloaded again right before your eyes. After that, you can definitely choose him.

I have used the second ringtone recovery option twice already. The ringtone was lost in iOS versions 8.1.1. Additionally, I tried to communicate with the support service about this, but they didn’t say anything sensible. To be honest, it’s annoying to see such glitches that, apparently, no one even thinks about fixing.

Give it a few seconds and your entire purchase history should appear. You will find information including a breakdown of the individual items within the purchase, as well as the date, order number, invoice number and other information. It's one thing to view all your purchases, but how can you access them?

Select "Not in My Library" and the type of purchase you want to reprogram on the right side. Additionally, you can search by name using the search bar on the left side. This is demonstrated not least by our comments. Many users suddenly encountered a jukebox that did not offer an application administration area.

Added 12/14/2014. This did happen:

A user who is unable to view apps they have downloaded from the store may face numerous inconveniences. ? It depends on the specific situation. For example, programs can be accidentally deleted, or simply hidden at the request of the owner himself account.

A fairly common situation is when, for example, a user installs on his computer new version operating system, and then - new iTunes app. Soon, he naturally discovers that after synchronization, all the programs he previously purchased disappear. How to be in this case? To begin with, it is worth keeping in mind one important circumstance: every time, reinstalling the system, the user must take care to do a back-up iTunes folders. In any case, you won’t need to re-pay for purchases already made in the store - the only problem is how to find them now.

Apps and sounds can be manually synced

In the end, the release of a file with which you can copy documents, videos and images into already installed application, is still available. Here you can access all the old downloads, or if you like switching from disk and free space. Both apps and ringtones can still be transferred. Really annoying behavior, which will undoubtedly affect developers' sales.

Version 2 can still be downloaded

You should always have devices at hand. Additionally, checking for updates is also not specified. Simple check updates, which should be replaced not only by us, but also by many users in the future. We just don't know how to do it. If you're quick, you can download it from the web and save it.

It's actually very easy to do. Regardless of whether a person uses Mac or Windows, he is asked to go to the iTunes application, and from there go to the “Store”. During the authorization process, indicate your identifier (it is used as email address) and password. Now select “Authorize this computer”. Go to the media library settings in the same “Store” menu and check the following items “Automatically download pre-ordered content” and “Check for available downloads automatically.” Confirm your actions by pressing the “OK” button. If after this automatic download has not started, they check the available downloads themselves, and if necessary, also download them manually. You can view your purchase history in the item called “Purchase History”.

Adviсe. Confirm which files you want to delete by clicking the "Delete ringtone" button in the dialog box that opens.

  • Right-click the ringtone you want to get rid of.
  • Select "Delete".
Flaws. You can't just save a copy of the ringtone for later use.

If you just want to delete a call from only mobile device To free up memory space or generally prefer a more flexible approach, try a more professional tool such as. If you want to delete a ringtone, just select and then delete that ringtone. One, two, three - already done.

Obviously, deleting this or that application will not be difficult for any of the users, while not everyone knows how to restore purchases in App Store. In fact, this is easier to do than it might seem at first glance.

How to restore hidden purchases in the App Store

To return hidden purchases we will need the menu " Quick links" In addition, our computer must be authorized. Go to " Account", and from there - to the second line, which is called, “Hidden purchases”. In the same way, you can use the “Applications” item, where all games and programs that were hidden earlier are displayed.

Even a beginner can easily get into this process. You can also use this program to delete all the ringtones that you want to delete at once. Download and launch the application. First you need to download the application by clicking the following button. Then launch the application.

Once it is connected, most important information displayed on the program interface. Click on the Music page and on the left side of the menu you will see Ringtones. Place a check mark next to all or some ringtones to remove them, and then click the Delete button. Apart from deleting ringtones, you can also directly import and export ringtones using this tool. Just click the "Import" and "Export" buttons. You can also manage all other files including images, videos, apps, messages and even contact details.

For its own reasons, the Cupertino company does not allow users of Apple gadgets to completely delete their purchases (except perhaps in the accidental situation described above), but they are easy to hide. Obviously, this is much more reasonable, given that you will no longer need to pay for any application again.

How to recover deleted purchases in the App Store

All this is available to you on different tabs. Both of them are very useful and will give you the same results. Perhaps this is another tool for desktop computers, but it's not as common as you might think. You should try it to see for yourself and see how other loyal users experience this tool. Creating playlists is not only very personal, it takes a lot of time. We'll show you how to get back to your playlists. No matter how reliable the equipment, questions inevitably arise during its operation. Some of them are caused by software failures, others by electronic malfunctions, however, fortunately, there is a category of problems that can be solved without contacting service center or buying a new device. These are the questions most often asked in the comments, and in the Genius section we will try to help with them.

The first question is about ringtones not appearing in the list after a factory reset.

After that, enter your account information Apple records ID, we agree to the restoration and continue working with the gadget as usual. Once the procedure is completed, you will receive a corresponding notification, by opening which you can not only download all purchased ringtones, but also automatically assign them to previously selected contacts. Of course, do not forget that if you have ringtones on your device that were copied from iTunes to your Mac or PC, you should disable their synchronization in this program to avoid re-downloading.

The second question concerns several problems with using .

The fact is that, according to , the text in the login window is displayed in the language selected during the installation of Mac OS X or when launching Mac OS X for the first time on a new Mac computer. To change this, go to our favorite app“Terminal” and enter next command(please note that you will need to have and enter an administrator password).

To set the desired language, select its number from the list and press the key .

Your humble servant also encountered the second problem described. To prevent custom images from disappearing after you restart your computer, you can copy them to system folder with wallpaper, located at: /Library/Desktop Pictures. For this we use simple combination keys + + [G], enter the address in the field that appears and move the required image by entering the administrator password. Now the picture can be set as wallpaper using the context menu or the “Desktop and Screensaver” item in the “ Panel System Settings».
As you can see, we are not talking about failures, but rather about the peculiarities of the system, the current release of which, El Capitan, is one of the most stable in history. Lately.

Last question always concerns current topic— Mac purchases abroad.

In order to buy a device with a keyboard layout different from the standard one for the country, Apple’s online stores provide a special option. To do this, select a product and go to the “Buy” section and, having decided on the desired model, we get to the configuration page. This is where the item we are interested in lurks, allowing us to select a keyboard marked in the selected language, as well as a user manual printed on it.

It is worth noting that the availability of this feature should be checked separately for each country. So, in the keyboard discussed above, it turned out to be available for order, while the Finnish and American (USA) sections do not offer this for some reason. As for offline purchases, you should contact the employees of the specific Apple Store.

As we see, many problems with Apple technology can be solved in just a few minutes. If you encounter any of them, we recommend asking for advice in the comments to this section, because this way you can simplify the author’s task and, therefore, speed up the receipt of an answer. Of course, mutual assistance and exchange of ideas are encouraged in the discussion, which are subsequently taken into account when preparing releases. Enjoy your work!
