Highscreen WinWin is one of the first Windows Phone smartphones from Highscreen. It was released in 2014, when the WP platform was considered a promising operating system and would soon overtake Android and iOS. However, this did not happen, but many users have already become owners of a Windows Phone device.

Like resetting settings on any smartphone, Highscreen WinWin hard reset clears the phone's memory. You should copy important files, such as photos, contacts, documents and others, to your computer or cloud storage.

Also charge the Highscreen WinWin battery to at least 50%.

If you're ready, we can get started!

Highscreen WinWin factory reset

Let's start with an easier way to reset settings through the settings menu.

Ready! This is truly the easiest way to perform a Highscreen WinWin hard reset. However, some users forget their password or pattern, which is why they cannot open the Settings menu. In this case, you need to use the following method.

Highscreen WinWin hard reset

  1. Turn off telephone.
  2. Press the keys simultaneously Volume Down + Power, and hold them until you feel vibration.
  3. Immediately after this, hold down the key Volume Down.
  4. As a result of these actions you should see Exclamation point on the phone screen. If nothing happens, repeat all steps from step 1.
  5. Next, you need to press the keys in order in a clear sequence:
  • Volume Up (+)
  • Volume Down (-)
  • Power
  • Volume Down (-)

Ready! After this, the smartphone will begin the reset procedure on its own.

As you can see, doing a hard reset on Windows Phone is no more difficult than on an Android device. Use the two methods above to perform a Highscreen WinWin hard reset.

    The phone is generally good for the money (I bought it from a megaphone for 4500), fast, fits comfortably in the hand, the screen is good in size, the camera takes photos normally for 5 megapixels, there is a yellow cover and a black one, two regular SIM cards (no need to cut), in Basically it works without glitches, the flash is normal, there is a light sensor, WP 8.1, there is an office.

    This was my first experience using a win-phone, which left a pleasant impression. Compared to Android phones of the same price category, the difference in performance is very noticeable, with virtually no lag. It holds a charge for a long time and charges quickly. Lots of settings - the phone can be adjusted to personal preferences.

    2 years ago

    The battery then began to hold a charge a little less, the front camera is bad (although what can you expect from 0.3 megapixels, the included headphones are so-so, sometimes they are slow, there is not enough RAM, sometimes the screen does not turn off when making a call, although there is GPS and Glonass does not always pick up satellites and not always can get directions, games and applications are less than on android because of WP, I took it in for repair under warranty due to moisture, they said it couldn’t be repaired, I waited for it for 2 months from Moscow, I took it to a paid repair shop and everything was fixed.

    The battery lasts only a day, you need to charge it every day, intrusive updates that cannot be turned off and the phone vibrates when pressed

    2 years ago

    The most important. On my phone, I can't install applications on the card. They fly off when you turn off the phone for the first time. I came across the opinion that this was a marriage, but it was too late. Music and photos are stored on the card without problems. Own memory is too small to use without a card. The specifics of Windows are not very many applications. Sometimes it can be very sad (when something involves using it exclusively through an application that is not available for Windows) Music at low volumes with quiet sections “jumps.” It feels like the phone is trying to filter out noise to improve voice clarity, but why it's connected to music playback too - I don't know

    The sensor does not respond and is glitchy. The browser and other applications crash all the time. The audio request button is very annoying and works on its own.

    The main disadvantage is the Application Store, known for its scarcity, but there is still a sufficient number of applications that are key for the Internet user, ensuring comfortable work. I was disappointed by the way the audio was played: at high volumes (25 and above), hardware limiting (?) of the sound occurred, which was cured by resetting to factory settings. I would like to increase the screen resolution with its diagonal

The Russian company Highscreen is among the leaders in the domestic mobile electronics market. This corporation successfully produces functional, productive and inexpensive smartphones and tablets. Devices manufactured under the Highscreen brand are often considered by experts to be the most optimal in terms of the combination of the noted features. Is it possible to evaluate Highscreen WinWin in a similar way? How competitive is the device in the budget solutions segment?

Perhaps a study of the technical characteristics of the device will bring us closer to the answer to this question. Let's start our short review of the device's capabilities with them.

Characteristics

What characteristics does the Highscreen WinWin smartphone have? The key ones are:

OS: Windows Phone version 8.1;

Processor: Qualcomm, 4 cores, 1.2 GHz;

RAM: 512 MB;

Built-in flash memory: 4 GB;

Communications: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth version 4, USB 2.0;

Main camera: 5 MP, autofocus and flash;

Frontal camera: 0.3 MP;

Battery: 2 thousand mAh;

Sensors: proximity sensor and accelerometer;

Multimedia capabilities: 3.5 mm audio jack, FM radio.

Equipment

What is the market package of a smartphone? The box purchased by the buyer contains, in fact, the Highscreen WinWin phone itself, an instruction manual, a power supply, a microUSB cable, a headset, and two spare back covers. One is yellow, the other is black. Additional accessories for the Highscreen WinWin smartphone - a case, for example, are always available in most modern communication stores.

Many lovers of mobile electronics note the content and convenience of the instruction manual included in the delivery package of the device. In this sense, an inexperienced user can easily master the basic nuances of working with the Highscreen WinWin smartphone. The operating instructions for the device are clear and sufficiently detailed.

Design

The body of the device is rectangular, the corners are rounded, the transitions in the lines are smooth. The front side of the smartphone is protected by durable glass. In the upper area of the front of the body there is a front camera, a voice speaker, and a proximity sensor. Below the display are the standard buttons found on devices running Windows Phone - “Back”, “Search”, as well as the branded “Windows”.

The back cover covers not only the back of the case, but also the sides of the phone. It is made of matte plastic. As many owners of the Highscreen WinWin phone note (reviews about this device are presented in large numbers on thematic online portals), the material of the back cover is very pleasant to the touch, and the surface of the corresponding element is resistant to dirt. The marked details actually determine the color of the device. Thus, the Highscreen WinWin user has at his disposal black and yellow elements of the appropriate type.

The rear of the body also houses the main camera, with an LED flash to the right of it. Also in the same area of the phone is the main speaker, with a mesh on top of it. The batteries of the device are removable, they are located under plastic panels. Below them are slots for additional microSD memory cards, as well as for 2 standard format SIM cards.

On the right side of the phone body there is a power button, on the left there is a key for adjusting the sound level. At the top there is a port for connecting a USB cable, as well as a 3.5 mm audio jack. There are no functional elements at the bottom end of the case. The microphone is located on the front panel of the device - in the corner at the bottom right.

Ease of use and ergonomics: reviews

What do users say about the comfort of using the Highscreen WinWin smartphone? Reviews from fans of mobile electronics indicate that the device, first of all, is characterized by excellent ergonomics. Its body fits wonderfully in the hand. The comfort of using the device is also facilitated by its modest dimensions: with the help of your thumb you can easily reach any device controls or the desired area of the sensor on the display.

Screen

Now, actually, about the screen characteristics. The Highscreen WinWin phone is equipped with a 4-inch display; its matrix is made using IPS technology. The device screen resolution is 800 by 480 pixels. Pixelation on the display is minimal and almost invisible. The picture displays perfectly. If you tilt the device to the right or left, the image quality practically does not drop, but with similar movements up or down, the picture may change color slightly, a little inversion is added. But this is acceptable, according to many experts, since the phone in question belongs to the budget category and is also sold in one of the lowest price segments.

Software

Let's look at the characteristics of the software that is installed on the Highscreen WinWin phone. User reviews indicate that the choice of this device by many people is due to the presence of Windows Phone OS on it. Its main advantage, in particular over Android, is that in many cases a high-performance processor and large amounts of RAM are not required to achieve high device speed. When comparing two phones of the same class with similar hardware characteristics, as a rule, the one that is controlled by Windows Phone turns out to be faster.

The interface of the corresponding operating system on all types of devices is almost the same - since Microsoft does not encourage “custom” modification of OS controls by device manufacturers. In this sense, switching from one device running Windows Phone to another is extremely simple. The mechanism for installing and managing applications on devices will also be almost the same.

It is noteworthy that for users of the Highscreen WinWin smartphone (reviews from many device owners characterize this opportunity exclusively on the positive side), mobile versions of popular office programs are available - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as the OneNote application. The functionality of the corresponding solutions, in general, allows you to perform all the same basic operations on documents as you would on a computer. In principle, the same file formats are supported as those typical for Microsoft Office programs installed on a PC.

Working with SIM cards

Like many other modern mobile phones, the device in question supports working with 2 SIM cards simultaneously. Using the Windows interface, you can choose which number to call a particular number from. This is convenient from the point of view of optimizing cellular communication costs: it often happens that it is cheaper to call a specific subscriber from one operator than from another. If necessary, you can modify the elements of the corresponding interface to suit the personal needs of the device owner.

Hardware and performance

The processor installed in the Highscreen WinWin smartphone is a 4-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8212 chip. It was manufactured using the 28 nm process technology. Operates at a clock frequency of 1.2 GHz. Equipped with an Adreno 302 graphics module. The smartphone has 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of built-in flash memory.

Such characteristics, especially in terms of RAM, would look very modest on devices running Android OS. However, in this case, the smartphone runs Windows Phone, for which the corresponding “stuffing” is quite acceptable. Users do not experience significant problems launching basic applications and games, or working with key elements of the Highscreen WinWin interface. The review of this device was written by more than one specialized portal, and every time experts involved in compiling relevant analytical materials say that the phone’s performance is at a good level.

Sound

The smartphone is characterized, as users note, by high quality sound reproduction - this applies to both the conversational module and the speaker designed for hands-free operation or playing music in the room. The sound is quite loud and rich. Like many other mobile phones, the device in question has separate speakers for conversations and multimedia playback.

Camera

The device is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera equipped with autofocus and flash. As users and experts note, the quality of the images is generally good, although in some components it is not ideal, since the phone still belongs to the budget category and the photography technologies it uses are not the most advanced. At the same time, according to experts, the smartphone camera provides good color reproduction. Thanks to the flash, you can take photographs in any lighting conditions. As many users note, it is quite easy to use the camera interface of the Highscreen WinWin smartphone. There is no need for instructions that would explain in detail the nuances of operating this hardware component.

The quality of videos shot using the device is quite average. But much, as experts note, depends on the actual filming conditions. If you conduct them in good lighting, in a calm environment, not while running, without jerking the device, you can quite achieve good video quality.

Communications

The phone supports the main popular interfaces - Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. Experts and the owners of the device themselves do not note any difficulties in using them; everything functions stably, data transfer is ensured as quickly as possible and without significant disruptions in the operation of the interfaces. Regarding standard functions - voice calls, SMS - users and experts do not identify any shortcomings in the smartphone. Connecting the device via a USB cable to other devices is also carried out without any problems.

Computer connection

It can be noted that the device implements standards through which a smartphone user can exchange data between his device and a computer on which the “desktop” version of Windows is installed. Using this software, the user, while at a PC, can view files, download them to a PC, or, conversely, download them from a computer to a phone.

Battery

The phone's battery life is 2 thousand mAh, which allows the device to work without recharging at an average rate of operation for about a day. If you use the device only in gaming mode, it will last for about 5 hours, with continuous video playback - for 5.5 hours. In general, the corresponding indicators look quite decent against the background of competitive models in the budget price segment.

In most cases, assessing the battery life of any mobile device will be subjective, one way or another. The fact is that the intensity of use of smartphones and tablets will be individual for each gadget lover, as well as the type of software used. In this sense, it is quite difficult to determine certain average criteria. Judging by the reviews on thematic online portals, the owners of the device in question are generally satisfied with the observed battery life of the device.

Summary

The Highscreen WinWin phone is an inexpensive (approximately 3,800 rubles) and at the same time very functional and productive device that can meet the basic needs of a modern user. Of course, in some components, such as camera quality, it will be inferior to leading models from the world's largest brands. At the same time, in terms of performance, communications, display quality, camera performance and sound playback, the device is quite competitive.

The Windows Phone operating system present in the device functions stably and runs modern applications and popular games without any problems. In addition, the device supports useful communication interfaces for exchanging data between a mobile device and a PC.

The device in question can be recommended to gadget lovers who do not have much experience with the Windows Phone OS. Using a smartphone from Highscreen, a person can easily master the basic functions of the corresponding operating system. Taking into account, of course, the use of other useful capabilities of the device.

For several years now I have been a user of smartphones on the Android platform. I’m also familiar with iOS devices, but, to be honest, somehow I didn’t develop a friendship with them. It’s hard to explain: I just didn’t like it - that’s all. I wanted to get to know Winphones better, but for the sake of this I’m not ready to sacrifice 200-300 US dollars (which is how much the average models on this OS previously cost). Fortunately, in mid-2014, Microsoft allowed not only a few “selected” companies like Nokia and HTC to make Winphones. As a result, today on the shelves of electronics stores you can see many more Windows smartphones from many brands, including not very large ones. The result of this is a noticeable reduction in the cost of gadgets on the Windows Phone platform.

The most inexpensive Winphone today can be purchased for 3,990 rubles, this is Highscreen WinJoy. In my humble opinion, the price is more than attractive, but I chose a more expensive model for testing - Highscreen WinWin for 4,490 rubles. Actually, I’ll talk about it below.

Equipment

The Highscreen WinWin package is the first difference from its cheaper brother. In addition to the usual components - charger, microUSB-USB cable, warranty, headphones and instructions - this model comes with two replaceable back panels. The first is made of black velvety soft-touch plastic, while the second is made of yellow matte plastic. That is, if you wish, you can quickly and easily “update” the appearance of your smartphone. By the way, many Highscreen models on Android also come with several interchangeable backs - for example, the Highscreen Omega Prime Mini comes with five covers.

As for the box in which all of the above is placed, it is designed quite unusually - you won’t confuse it with any other brand. The box is made of rough rough cardboard. The name of the model is written on its side faces, and on the top part the smartphone itself is depicted as if “in section.” This figure shows where each component of the device is located, and also indicates the main technical characteristics of the gadget.

Appearance

The first thing worth saying about Highscreen WinWin is that the device is quite compact (126 x 64 x 10.5 mm), it fits comfortably in the hand and can easily be hidden in a pocket, including a shirt pocket. The model is suitable for both men and girls – the colors also contribute to this. As I already said, the device comes with two back panels: yellow and black.

I have often seen smartphones with replaceable panels that do not fit tightly to the main body of the device. Here there is no such problem, the panels fit like a glove, and in general the build quality was pleasantly surprising, everything is neat and without flaws.

The volume and power keys are located on the side ends: the first on the left, the second, respectively, on the right. I note that the buttons are black, they are built into the main body of the smartphone, however, they go well with both the black and yellow panels.

On the front side, in addition to the screen, there is a front camera, a speaker, as well as light and proximity sensors. Below the display are three touch control keys with white backlight. In general, in Windows Phone smartphones they are extremely rarely displayed on the screen.

At the top of the back side of the Highscreen WinWin there is a rear camera and an LED flash. At the bottom there is a multimedia speaker mesh.

Ports for charging (microUSB) and for headphones (3.5 mm) are on the top edge.

The memory card slot (MicroSD) and slots for two SIM cards are located under the back cover, next to the battery. In principle, this is where we can finish describing the appearance of Highscreen WinWin and move on to the display.

Display In the world of Android smartphones, gigantism is successfully progressing; a device with a 4.5-inch screen already seems tiny. As for Winphones, this “symptom” is not yet so noticeable, and Highscreen WinWin is a good confirmation of this. The device is equipped with a 4-inch display with a resolution of 480 by 800 pixels. Yes, the specifications are budget and, to be honest, I was not expecting very good image quality, but the screen pleasantly surprised me.

Due to the relatively small diagonal, the resolution used seems quite appropriate. The picture does not look grainy, quite the opposite: it is quite “smooth”. The color reproduction is also okay, as is the brightness level. The only thing that the Highscreen WinWin screen lacks is viewing angles, although some see this as a “plus”, they say, no one on public transport will look into “private matters”.

Hardware

For those who don’t know, I’ll say that absolutely all smartphones on the Windows Phone platform are based on Qualcomm chipsets, and the Highscreen WinWin model was no exception to the rule. This model uses a quad-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8212 processor. As befits all Winphones, the model in question works very quickly, even despite the presence of a 512 MB RAM module. I dare say that a device with exactly the same hardware, but on Android, would work slower.

It’s quite possible to play on the Highscreen WinWin, but not very demanding games; still, don’t forget that the device has 512 MB of RAM. Meanwhile, for “serious” 3D titles on Winphones you need at least 1 GB of RAM.

The chipset used in Highscreen WinWin implies the presence of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules. There is also a navigation module here, and not just a simple GPS, but a GPS/GLONASS that works with American and Russian satellites. I was pleased with the speed of searching for satellites, it takes literally a few seconds, and the signal reception level is good. In general, I did not find any problems with the listed wireless adapters.

Of course, Highscreen WinWin also has 3G support. Moreover, the smartphone has two slots for SIM cards. Therefore, you can insert a personal SIM card into one, and a work SIM card into the other. Or use one for calls and the second for the Internet. It's up to you to decide, in any case, the presence of two slots for SIM cards is a “plus”.

operating system

The Highscreen WinWin model operates under the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system. The interface of this smartphone has not undergone any changes or additions; everything is standard for devices on this platform - tiles with resizable sizes and a variety of colors. It looks beautiful, and the desktop can be customized to suit you. Regarding the availability of various applications, yes, there are fewer of them in the Windows Marketplace than in Google Play, but all the popular and common programs are there.

Battery

I won’t open anyone’s eyes now by saying that one of the main “troubles” of Android smartphones is their short battery life. Such a device with a 2,000 mAh battery lasts approximately 1-1.5 days. As for Winphones, the battery life indicators are noticeably better. The Highscreen WinWin model is equipped with a 2,000 mAh battery, and the device needs to be recharged no more than once every 2.5 days. In my opinion, this is very good.

Cameras

The Highscreen WinWin does not pretend to be a high-quality camera; in principle, this is understandable given the price of the smartphone. The gadget uses a 5-megapixel main camera module, but, unlike most of its classmates, this camera has autofocus, which significantly improves the quality of photos. There is also an LED flash. You can evaluate the photo capabilities of Highscreen WinWin using the examples below:

There’s nothing special to say about the front camera, it’s just there (unlike many budget cameras) and has a resolution of 0.3 megapixels, that is, you can chat on Skype.

Conclusion

Highscreen WinWin is suitable not only for people who want to get acquainted with the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, but do not want to overpay for unnecessary bells and whistles, but also for ordinary users. The device works extremely quickly, has a good screen and a decent camera for its price, and a capacious battery that provides good battery life will allow you to do without unnecessary thoughts about the outlet. I believe that the Highscreen WinWin fully justifies its price tag; let me remind you that the device costs about 4,490 rubles.
