Login password for the interzet router. Checking the local network settings before setting up the router

Setting up the router D-Link DIR-615 InterZet is not difficult to work on the network, but there are a couple of pitfalls that you may encounter when using the Setup Wizard (“Setup Wizard” in Russian). We'll tell you about them today.

First of all, you need to open any browser and go to the address 192.168.0.1 . If you are setting up a new router and connecting it for the first time, you will not see the standard authorization form asking you to enter your username and password. Instead, the already mentioned “D-Link Setup Wizard” will open:

The same window shows the firmware of our device: 5.11RU. Despite the name of the firmware, the device interface remains in English. But it doesn’t matter; even without knowledge of the language, setting up a router according to our instructions will not be difficult.

To start setting up, click Next.

The setup wizard will prompt you to change the password to access the router settings. We recommend doing so. Here everything is as usual: enter the password in the first field, confirmation in the second, check the Enable Graphical Authentication will enable captcha request From English CAPTCHA - a graphic representation of symbols to distinguish between robots and people. Captcha can be seen, for example, when registering on some sites. When logging into the web interface, you don’t have to set it.

Click Next to proceed to the second stage - specifying the time zone. Most likely he will determine correctly:

Click Next. The setup wizard tried to determine the type and settings of our connection, but, alas, it did not work:

Therefore, you must specify the settings manually by clicking the button "Guide me through the internet connection settings". In the list of connections, select Static IP Address Connection and press Next:

As you can see, one of the pitfalls that we warned about appears when setting up an Internet connection. In our case, the Setup Wizard automatically detects DNS servers (and determines them incorrectly) and does not allow them to be changed - fields Primary And Secondary DNS Address inactive and unavailable for editing.

If so, let’s skip these fields for now and fill in the rest:

IP Address: your IP address
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway Address: 10.150.198.1

To go to the next step, click Next. At the fifth stage of setup, you need to specify the Wi-Fi settings: network name and password. By default, the password is generated automatically (if the Automatically assing a network key option is selected); to assign a password manually, you must select "Manually assing a network key".

Network Name (SSID): name of your Wi-Fi network
Network key: Wi-Fi network password, from 8 characters, numbers and Latin symbols

After specifying your settings, click Next. The final screen of the Setup Wizard will open, displaying the Wi-Fi network settings you just entered. If everything is correct, click Save & Connect.

After 1-2 minutes, the settings will be saved, a window for entering the router settings will open and... the Internet will not work. At a minimum, it will not work due to incorrectly defined DNS servers, and secondly, due to the MAC address binding in InterZet. Let's not get ahead of ourselves and tell you everything in order.

So, in the login form that opens to the router’s web interface, enter the password, or, if you did not set a password in the first step of the settings, leave the field empty and click Login:

If you open the section DEVICE INFO > STATUS, you can verify for yourself that the connection settings were not correctly accepted by the router:

This needs to be fixed. Open section SETUP > INTERNET and click on the button Manual Internet Connection Setup.

For the Internet connection to work correctly, the following settings must be specified (we have already indicated some of them and are duplicating them here, due to the fact that they may not have been saved during the initial setup):

My Internet Connection is: Static IP

IP Address: your IP address
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 10.150.198.1
Primary DNS Server: 95.161.0.77
Secondary DNS Server: 95.161.127.77
MTU: 1500
MAC Address: MAC address assigned to your agreement with your provider. If the Internet was previously connected to the computer from which you are now setting up the router, then simply click the Clone Your PC"s MAC Address button.

Innovations of technological progress have affected almost every inhabitant of the planet living in a civilized settlement. Modern man cannot imagine life without means of communication, in particular the Internet. Setting up an Interzet router is not very difficult.

Today, Interzet has established itself as a reliable service provider, distinguished by high-quality service. may be different, but still a wireless connection is the most convenient when you need to connect several devices to the network. Interzet routers, with the help of which computers or other devices in the room can be connected by a network, are not difficult to set up.

It is quite possible to connect and configure a router yourself, without resorting to the paid services of specialists, just having the necessary skills to connect devices. Interzet supplies routers with their own firmware, the most convenient for using this network, but they are usually configured according to the same principle.

Settings

This guide to quickly setting up a router for the Internet is suitable for any modification and from any manufacturer. The difference may lie in the configuration and names of menu items in the administrator section of the router. The instructions can be used when setting up connections to any providers that provide Internet via a static IP address, in particular how to set up a router for InterZet.

Setting up a router for the Internet from InterZet

  1. We insert the cable from the Internet into the plug on the router marked as WAN - it is often marked in blue. And using the cable that was in the router box, we connect the PC’s network card and one of the LAN slots - they are often marked in yellow.
  2. In Windows 7, go to the computer's network settings section, which is located inside the Control Panel
(Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Manage network connections > Change adapter settings).

here we need the “Local Area Connection” icon - click on it with the mouse (right click) and open the very bottom item - “Properties”

    Let's save

  3. After this, look for a sticker on the router case that will indicate information for access to the admin panel - IP, login, pass

  4. We return to the PC and in the browser write the IP address seen on the sticker. An authorization form will open - use the username and key

  5. We are looking for an item in the router menu for Internet settings (WAN port)

  6. In the “WAN connection type” column, select “Static IP”
IP address, Mask, Gateway and DNS - from the contract from the provider

  7. We copy the “MAC address” from the PC

If it is not possible to automatically clone a MAC address, then there should be a corresponding text field for entering it

To find it out, go back to “Network Connections” on your computer, click on “Local Area Connection” > “Properties”. Here we need a “Physical Address” - we will enter it in the admin panel of the router.

    Save and reboot.

  8. Now you need to set up WiFi distribution - there is a separate section for this in the admin panel. Here you need to come up with just a few meanings yourself

    SSID - wifi network name
    Security - WPA2-Personal
    Encryption - AES/TKIP
Password—password for connecting devices to the wireless network

  9. We save these settings, after which we take a laptop or phone from which it is possible to connect to the router via wifi.
In Windows, when the wireless module is running, there is a separate icon in the lower right corner of the monitor indicating a wifi connection. We click on it to open the list of networks available in the reception area - we connect to our SSID using the access key assigned a few minutes earlier.

In today's article we will look at connecting and setting up a router to one of the popular Internet providers in the telecommunications services market in St. Petersburg - the company Interzet.

As an example, the article will use the TP-Link TL-WR841ND router with hardware firmware version v.8.2.

Step 1. Connecting the router to the Internet and PC

The R841ND is no exception - on the back panel of the router there are 4 yellow LAN ports and 1 WAN port (blue).

Important! Almost all routers are supplied with a patch cord - a UTP (twisted pair) cable terminated on both sides with RJ-45 connectors. This cable is needed to connect the router to a PC and perform configuration.

So:

1. It is necessary to connect a patch cord between the LAN port of the router and the network connector or PC. And connect the Interzet provider cable to the WAN port.

5. The password and username can be found on the sticker on the bottom of the router. Typically this is the word admin for both fields.

Step 2. Setting up an Internet connection and creating a wireless network

The goal of WPS technology is to simplify setup as much as possible when creating a wireless network.

However, in addition to the positive side, this approach also has a negative aspect, jeopardizing the security of data transmitted within a wireless network.

This is a vulnerability identified by Stefan Fiebeck and Craig Hefner in 2011. We won’t go into details, but just note that WPS mode should be disabled.

To do this, go to the WPS section and click the “Disable WPS” button.

Let's move on to setting up an Internet connection.

We go to the “Network” section, the “WAN” menu, in the drop-down list of the “WAN Connection Type” menu, select “Static IP”, and in the lower fields “IP Address”, “Subnet Mask”, “Default Gateway”.

We enter the data specified in the contract for the provision of telecommunications services from Interzet.

In the “Primary DNS” field, enter the IP address of the DNS server; for example, Google’s DNS server was entered.

Click the “Save” button to save the settings.

Let's go to the "MAC Clone" menu. In this step, we will copy the MAC address of the computer and replace it with the MAC address of the router.

Click the “Clone MAC Address” button and save using the “Save” button.

Setting up a Wi-Fi network.

Let’s go to the “Wireless Settings” menu in the “Wireless Network Name” field and set the name of the wireless network. The name can be anything.

In the “Region” field, select “Russia”; in the field for selecting the operating mode of the wireless module “Mode”, select the mixed mode “11bgn mixed”.

In the “Chanel Width” and “Chanel” fields, select the “Auto” option.

We check the boxes “Enable Wireless Router Radio” and “Enable SSID Broadcas”, activating the wireless module and making our wireless network visible. Save the settings, “Save”.

Let's move on to selecting encryption modes - the “Wireless Security” menu. Select the second item - “WPA/WPA2 - Personal (Recommended)”.

In the field for selecting the version of the encryption technology, select the WPA2-PSK field “Version”, in the “Encryption” field select the “AES” protocol, in the “Wireless Password” field write the password, the longer it is, the better.

We set the Group Key Update Period to 12 hours, in the field we write this value in seconds 43200 seconds.

Save the settings, the “Save” button is at the bottom of the page.

Setting up security. Go to the “Security” section, “Basic Security” menu.

If you are unsure about the need to enable the parameters for VPN and ALG in this menu, we recommend turning them off in the “Disable” position. Save the settings.

You should also change the default password and login.

Let's go to the "System Tools" section, "Password" menu.

In the “Old User Name” and “Old Password” fields we enter the current login and password, and in the lower fields we enter the new login and password, the “Confirm New Password” field is used to confirm the entered new password.

Save the settings.

Step 3: Create backups

An equally important point after setting up the router is saving all the settings made - creating a backup copy of the settings.

In the “System Tools” section, go to the “Backup & Restore” menu. By clicking the “Backup” button, a file with settings will be created and saved in the folder of your choice.

To restore settings from a backup, you must click the “Select file” button, select the file with the settings and click the “Restore” button.

To reset all settings to factory settings, you can use the Reset button on the back panel of the router or go to the “System Tools” section, the “Factory Defaults” menu and click the “Restore” button.
