Outlook personal account. Outlook Web App - Login to Mail

Hello, dear readers of the blog site. Microsoft has a habit of changing the name of their online services.

For example, these are the goodies you will receive after connecting the Facebook social network to Outlook:

Chat will also be available when connected (you can also install the Skype plugin to make voice and video calls in online Outlook).

Personally, I’m not very sociable and all this tinsel in the mail interface seems overkill to me, but many will like this innovation from Microsoft. After connecting, the online service “People” will look slightly different:

Well, the already mentioned “Calendar” is, in fact, an organizer. Quite easy to learn and modest in functionality. But in the vast majority of cases this is exactly what is needed. In addition, it displays the weather, which is very convenient.

I won’t repeat myself about the capabilities of Skydrive (Pardom, VanDrive), because I provided a link to a full-fledged article just above. The thing is, in fact, convenient and has its own twist - remote access to any files on your computer from the OneDrive web interface. And there are still little things to look at.

Good luck to you! See you soon on the pages of the blog site

Outlook is a powerful email tool that is just like the web version of Gmail. Here are a few non-obvious features of this monster that may be useful to you.

A preview of each message is available in the list of messages. You see the sender's address, subject, and the first line of the body text. The last parameter can be configured. To do this, open the “View” tab, find the “View message” button and select the required number of lines. If you wish, you can turn off viewing altogether to save space. Outlook will also ask if you want to apply the setting to just this folder or to all mailboxes.

If you have several accounts in Outlook, you can select one as the main one so that the corresponding folder opens when you open mail. To do this, click “File” → “Options” and in the window that appears, select the “Advanced” tab in the left panel.

In the “Start and stop working with Outlook” section, click on the “Browse” button. In the Select Folder dialog box, find the account you want and select Inbox or another folder you want. It will now open when you start using Outlook.

If you often search for letters by typing the same words and expressions into the search bar, you can simplify your task. Outlook supports search folders, or . Set them up and you can forget about manually sorting correspondence.

Go to the Folder tab → Create Search Folder. In the window that appears, you can select a search folder from the templates provided by Outlook or create your own. For example, the Unread Emails search folder will show all messages you haven't opened, no matter where they are or what accounts they belong to. Emails will not be moved anywhere: only links to them are displayed in search folders.

If you're not happy with the Outlook templates, select "Create a custom search folder" at the bottom of the list. Click Select. Then enter a name for the folder, click “Conditions” and specify the criteria by which messages should be selected for it.

This feature deletes redundant messages in the selected folder. Redundant refers to quoted copies of your letters. To test the function in action, right-click on the folder in which duplicates and copies of messages have accumulated, and select “Empty Folder”.

You can specify which messages are considered redundant. To do this, select File → Options → Mail → Conversation Cleanup. Here you can configure the cleaning so that it does not affect important or flagged messages, and you can also choose which folder to move unnecessary messages to. By default, they are sent to the “Deleted Items” folder of the account to which they belong.

This feature allows you to write a letter now and send it later. Just indicate the sending time and forget about the letter - it will arrive without your participation. Gmail is proud of this feature with its , but it is also available in Outlook.

Write a new letter, specify the addressee and subject as usual. Then click the Options button in the message box and select Delay Delivery. In the window that opens, select the “Do not deliver until” checkbox and specify the date and time. You can set other parameters. For example, mark a message as important or forward a copy to another address.

Outlook stores scheduled messages in the Outbox folder until they are sent. The emails will then move to the Sent folder.

If you need to cancel a delivery delay or change the delivery date and time, open your Outbox and look for your message there. Click Delay Delivery on the Options tab and change the date and time in the Do Not Deliver By field. Or uncheck the box to disable delivery delay.

In the right hands, this is an incredibly powerful tool that will help you cope with large volumes of correspondence. The Quick Actions feature allows you to automate any sequence of actions and perform them with one click.

On the Home tab, find the Quick Actions button. There are several templates here, but you can make your own. To do this, click on “Create New” in the “Quick Actions” section and set a name. Then, by clicking on the "Actions" button, select the operations you want to perform, step by step. You can save a quick action to the toolbar or assign a shortcut to it.

For example, you can create a Quick Action to move selected messages to a specific folder and mark them as read. Or respond en masse to your interlocutors by creating calendar reminders to meet with them. Use your imagination.

You can open multiple Outlook windows at the same time. This will allow you to view your email, calendar, and tasks on a larger monitor without having to use navigation buttons to switch between mail and calendar.

It's very easy to do. Right-click on the open email client icon in the taskbar and select Outlook from the menu that appears. A second window will open. When you close your email client, go to File → Exit in any open window without clicking the close window button in the upper right corner. The next time you start Outlook, it will open with the same number of windows.

This feature allows you to automatically perform certain actions with new mail. Click Rules on the Home tab and select Manage Rules and Alerts. Here you can create, modify and manually run them.

Click “Create Rule” and then set your settings in the window that appears. You can tell the application to sound a certain sound, display an alert, and transfer messages that meet certain criteria to the desired folder.

By default, your email is used as the account name in Outlook, but you can change the account name. At the same time, on the server of your email provider it will remain the same, so you can name yours according to their content: “Work”, “Home” and so on.

To change the account name, right-click on the account (panel on the left) and select “Account Properties”. Or go to File → Details. Then open Account Settings, select the account whose name you want to change, and click Change. Enter a new name, then click Next and Finish.

Geeky things that will help you use Outlook more efficiently are suitable for those who are used to working with a keyboard rather than a mouse. Press Win + R to open and enter the commands:

  • outlook.exe /nopreview- open Outlook without a message preview window.
  • outlook.exe /select folder_name - open Outlook with a specific email folder instead of the one you have assigned as your primary one. If instead folder_name enter outlook:calendar, the calendar will open.
  • outlook.exe /restore- open Outlook, restoring all windows if the program was closed as a result of a system error.
  • outlook.exe /finder- Open Outlook's powerful search tool.

If you know any other cool Outlook features, share them in the comments.

Outlook is an email application that many users are actively interested in. This is not surprising, since Outlook not only allows you to successfully conduct electronic correspondence with many business partners and relatives, but also provides a lot of other useful things.

With Outlook you can conduct electronic correspondence with friends and relatives, as well as with business partners

Along with this, you can successfully use the email application as an organizer that will not allow you to miss an important event or schedule two events that overlap each other.

Outlook is a tool in the Microsoft Office suite, so anyone can use this email application. However, before that, you will have to familiarize yourself with how to add an account in Outlook.

So, the interest in how to create an Outlook account is quite understandable, since without this it is impossible to work correctly with the mail application.

Conducting business correspondence is impossible unless you take steps to create an account. It should be noted that such actions are not accompanied by difficulties, so there is no point in turning to specialists for help.

All manipulations are easy to carry out yourself if you carefully study the instructions on how to create an account in Outlook.

Creation algorithm

First, open the Outlook application itself on your computer. Now in the main dialog box that opens on the monitor screen, find an option such as “Service”, click on it to open an additional drop-down submenu.

Step 1

At the very bottom of the list in the submenu there will be a line “Account Settings”; this is also what you should click on.

In the new window that opens, you can easily find the “Create” button located at the very beginning, click on it too. Now it is very important not to miss one detail.

In the dialog box that opens, you will be offered automatic email setup, but due to the fact that not all providers are able to provide effective support, it is recommended to enter a checkmark in the checkbox, orienting the process to the fact that you intend to carry out all the necessary settings manually.

After that, immediately proceed to the next step by clicking on the “Next” button. Now a window opens directly in which the process of creating the first or next account is carried out.

Step2

Fill out all the requested data, indicating your first and last name, which will subsequently be displayed when conducting correspondence, as well as your e-mail. The account type remains unchanged, but you will need to enter the mail servers (incoming and outgoing correspondence) manually, taking the data from your provider.

Step 3

Finally, you need to enter a password. Don’t forget to check the box below, which will allow you to automatically log into the created account in the future.

After completing all fields, click on the “Advanced options” button. A dialog box will open containing five horizontal radio buttons for making changes. We should select the Outgoing Mail Server option.

You will see the line “SMTP server requires authentication” with an empty checkbox next to it. Check this checkbox and immediately select the option below “Similar to the server for incoming mail”, placing a dot next to it too.

After this, you should make changes on the “Advanced” tab. We go to it, enter the port numbers provided by the provider.

Then, next to the “Leave copies of messages on the server” option, check the box so that all correspondence is subsequently saved and not automatically deleted from the server.

Feel free to click on the “Ok” button so that all the changes made take effect. To check whether the changes were made correctly and correctly, click on the “Check account settings” line.

If everything has been entered without flaws, you can immediately make sure that correspondence can be sent and also received perfectly by your account.

If you make mistakes in the settings, the program will immediately report them, then you will have to reconsider all the information that you enter. It is especially important to double-check the data provided by the provider.

As we can see, we can add an account without problems, and not much time is spent.

Deleting an account

The Outlook email application can simultaneously contain multiple accounts. However, at some point it may happen that the need for a particular one disappears, which is why the pressing question arises of how to delete an Outlook account.

Removal algorithm

After reading the instructions on how to delete an Outlook account, it will become clear that this process is surprisingly simple. In addition, it does not involve performing any complex manipulations or entering information, as when adding a new email.

To remove unwanted email from an email application, first open it.

Review all of them, find the one for which the need has already been exhausted, click on it so that the line is highlighted. Now click on the outermost “Delete” button. The removal process will be carried out at lightning speed.

In practice, you will see that deleting an extra email address or account is really incredibly simple. This does not require any special attention or any computer knowledge. It is only important to read the instructions and act strictly according to the indicated algorithm, and not rush on a whim.

So, the process of creating and deleting an account in Outlook is not accompanied by difficulties, but it is very important for the email application to effectively carry out certain types of activities and work successfully with email and the organizer.
