Lenovo S660 black smartphone Reviews. Lenovo S660 black smartphone Reviews OS and software

Choosing a medium device price category, it is worth paying attention to the Chinese manufacturer. The A6000, presented in 2015, pleasantly stands out among its analogues.

Appearance

The smartphone cannot boast of a particularly eye-catching design. Externally, the device looks more like a budget model from the company. This situation is an excellent example of neglecting the appearance of not the cheapest devices. Considering the thorough design of flagships, this attitude is upsetting.

The front side of the device has touch buttons for control, a 5-inch screen, a speaker, sensors, a company logo and a camera.

At the back are the main camera, logo and two speakers.

On the right side of the device there is a power button, as well as a volume control. The USB socket and headphone input are located at the top end.

You can see that the phone has not undergone any significant changes compared to previous models.

I would also like to pay attention to the body itself, in particular the screen glass. The company did not bother with the oleophobic coating for the protective element. As a result, fingerprints will become an incredible problem for the owner.

What makes the problem worse is that too dirty glass prevents the sensor from working properly. This is an incredible shortcoming of a phone equipped with a large display.

In general, the smartphone turned out to be quite light for its size. The weight of the device is only 128 grams. Actually, this will allow you to work quite comfortably with one hand.

Camera

To our great surprise, the smartphone is capable of taking pictures of only average quality. This situation arose with the camera due to the use of already established developments. Only 8 megapixels were installed in the device.

Such a solution might have been relevant several years ago, but it is not relevant for modern device middle category. Perhaps this is a miscalculation of the company or a way to save money and thereby reduce the cost of the device. But such a camera looks very unpresentable.

The situation with the front camera is a little better. The cameras on the front side have 2 megapixels. This is quite enough for both video calling and selfies.

In general, the device's cameras are underwhelming. Most budget devices have similar characteristics and take the same pictures.

Display

The installed 5-inch screen is perfect for display The display characteristics will delight the user good resolution and the use of IPS technology.

The screen is very rich and bright, so there is no glare from the sun. The use of IPS technology makes viewing angles almost maximum.

I got the A6000 with a resolution of 1280 x 720, and this is already HD. The image quality is amazing. Actually, the user will not notice much of a difference between HD and its more advanced version with the full prefix used by flagships.

The screen supports the same usual 5 touches.

Filling

The owners will be most pleased with the hardware of the Lenovo A6000. The review of the filling should start with a 64-bit processor called SnapDragon with as many as 4 cores. The frequency of each is 1.2 GHz, which in total gives good performance.

The company has installed a pretty good video accelerator Adreno 306. Of course, this is not the best choice, but it shows itself well in the device.

The company decided to save on RAM as well. The Lenovo A6000 phone has only one gigabyte. Compared to the processor and its frequency, this memory characteristic looks strange. Definitely, the device will not have enough RAM to perform complex tasks.

The phone has 8 GB of native memory. In reality, about 6 will be available to the user, because part of it is occupied by “Android”.

The remaining memory will be divided into 3 GB for installing applications and games, and the rest for other user needs.

You can expand the memory capacity with a 32 GB flash drive. The device works with such a volume stably and without braking.

System

The device uses Android 4.4. A fairly good system allows you to maximize the capabilities of the device.

The disadvantage of the Android A6000 is the poor optimization of the proprietary shell. The previously used VibeUI in this model shows itself to be rather mediocre.

If necessary, you can replace “Android” with a more modern one, version 5.0. Probably, all the shortcomings of the shell will be corrected in it.

Battery

The installed battery cannot cope with all the demands of the Lenovo A6000. Reviews about the device are full of dissatisfaction with the capacity of only 2300 mAh. Such a battery would look good on low-power devices, but not on the A6000.

The company said the active run time is 13 hours. In reality, the mobile phone will work for 6-8 hours. Of course, in standby mode with minimal use, the device can last 2 days, but no more. Even in previous models the battery was many times more powerful. Controlling active functions and reducing the brightness of the device’s display will help to slightly increase the duration. Many people recommend taking the simpler approach and replacing the battery with a more powerful analogue.

Sound

The device's two stereo speakers deserve admiration. Usage Dolby Audio The sound is loud and quite pleasant. There are minor wheezes, but these are minor flaws. The speakers are definitely placed poorly. Holding the phone in hand will cause the user to close both.

The earpiece is also good. Despite the lack of noise reduction, the interlocutor can be heard perfectly.

Price

Despite the presence of a lot of shortcomings, the price asked for the Lenovo A6000 looks acceptable. A Chinese new product costs approximately 10 thousand rubles. We can safely say that this is one of the most inexpensive middle-class devices. Considering the performance and advantages of the Lenovo A6000, the price is quite justified.

Equipment

The device set includes: USB cord, adapter, headphones Bad quality, battery, instructions. You can also buy a case for Lenovo A6000 and a capacitive battery. You will definitely have to replace the headset, because its quality is really bad.

Advantages

There are a lot of positive aspects and the owners rate the device’s internals very highly. A high-quality processor allows the device to cope with many tasks. The RAM fails a little, but this is not a critical problem.

The sound of the device is also worthy of attention. It doesn't matter whether you're watching a video or playing music, the quality will be excellent. Of course, the device is a little lacking in low frequencies, but this is a problem with many mobile phones.

The excellent screen also deserves praise. High resolution and modern technologies make the picture pleasing to the eye. Watching HD on a 5-inch display will be a pleasure.

You can’t ignore the possibility of updating the firmware to the latest version of Android.

A definite plus is the cost of the device. The mobile phone compares favorably with its competitors when comparing prices.

Flaws

There are also disadvantages in the Lenovo A6000 device. Reviews from device owners boil down to dissatisfaction with the camera. Essentially, this is the most weakness smartphone. Installing a camera from previous years significantly worsens the impression. You can't count on high-quality photos.

Also, when using the device, a weak battery makes itself felt. Demanding characteristics and a power-hungry system drain the smartphone pretty quickly.

The shortcomings of the shell on the native version of Android are also confusing. Of course, the problem can be solved with basic firmware, but this is quite unpleasant.

The owner will most likely have to buy an additional case for the Lenovo A6000, because the device quickly gets dirty. The absence of an oleophobic coating on the glass affects it.

The appearance will not cause delight either. The device does not stand out at all against the general background.

Typical middle class

In terms of the number of smartphone models produced, the Chinese company Lenovo is perhaps the record holder. It is unlikely that any of the competitors can now boast of the same wide choice mobile devices simultaneously present on the market. And yet, there is always a specific model that both buyers and the manufacturer themselves tend to highlight. They talk about it more, discuss it more widely, and this model is more often chosen for purchase from many other similar products. It is clear that the whole point is to balance some fundamental characteristics, which are so important for the average user that their successful combination leads to increased demand for this particular model.

Something similar happened to the hero of today’s review. The Lenovo A6000 smartphone is a seemingly unremarkable smartphone, far from the flagship level. It looks modest and doesn’t shine with performance, but it so happens that its manufacturer described it as “the best smartphone in its class with a five-inch display.” By the way, this can be easily verified if you go to the Lenovo corporate website dedicated to this model. Well, perhaps the manufacturer is right about something. By at least, no one will now argue with the fact that in the current market situation, mobile products of this Chinese company has received such wide recognition in our country that could not have been expected in the past, pre-crisis years. Accordingly, we could not ignore in our reviews this model side, since the manufacturer has already distinguished it from its large family of inexpensive mobile devices.

Contents of delivery

The smartphone is sold in a small rectangular nondescript cardboard box with several compartments inside, which store a fairly rich set of related accessories.

The package includes a small charger (5 V, 1 A) with a Micro-USB connecting cable, as well as a simple wired headset with plastic headphones without ear pads. In addition, the set includes a translucent plastic case and protective film for the screen.

Appearance and ease of use

The Lenovo A6000 smartphone is not burdened with an expressive design: the rectangular monoblock body is made of plastic, there are no inserts or rims here, the edges are straight, the features are chopped, the corners are almost not rounded. The smartphone is moderately large and thick, but at the same time has a surprisingly small weight, making it convenient to carry in your pocket.

The assembly does not cause any complaints, the body is built quite tightly, and no crunching or sagging was noticed when compressed. Matte coating The plastic prevents the smartphone from slipping out of your hands; there are practically no fingerprints left on it. Considering the very small weight of this five-inch smartphone, as well as the used matte finish back cover, the Lenovo A6000 case can be considered quite successful in terms of ergonomics and practicality of use.

The back cover is a single trough made of hard plastic with a fairly thick profile. The side buttons are fixed on the edges of the cover itself, so the smartphone cannot be controlled when disassembled. The cover can be removed quite easily; underneath it hides conveniently located connectors for two Micro-SIM cards, as well as a card slot microSD memory. All cards are supported from below by a removable battery, so hot swapping is impossible here.

A stuck card can be easily removed by pushing it from the other side with your fingernail: for this purpose, special recesses are provided at the ends of the connectors, this is the right solution. By the way, it should immediately be noted that when installing SIM cards for the first time, the user will need to decide on the slots, since one of them is intended only for voice communication(2G), and the card installed in it will not function in 3G/4G data networks.

The front part of the case is completely covered with flat protective glass without edges. At the top there are standard sensors and front-camera, but, unfortunately, this is not provided useful element, like LED alert indicator.

About providing backlight touch buttons the developers also decided not to care, and this, by the way, is found in many Lenovo smartphones. Obviously, the developers of this company do not attach due importance to this issue, or use it as a “bargaining chip” in the process of artificially reducing the cost of some models, expanding the lineup for the sake of marketing. One way or another, but in the end the painted buttons become simply indistinguishable in the darkness.

The rear side of the body traditionally houses the main camera module and a single-section LED flash. The camera glass is framed with a metallized shiny ring; the module does not protrude beyond the surface of the body.

Below are the speaker grilles, there are two of them, since the smartphone is equipped with stereo speakers located on the rear side. The grilles are formed by arrays of small round holes; there are even two symmetrical cutouts for them in the branded complete case. Above each of the grilles there is a small protrusion of the case that lifts the smartphone above the surface when the device is lying face up. This partly prevents the sound from being blocked out.

Both mechanical control buttons are located on the same right side. The keys are quite large, they protrude noticeably beyond the body, the action is elastic and distinct, in general there are no complaints about these elements.

Both interface connectors are on the same top end, but they are located at a sufficient distance from each other so as not to interfere with the connection of the plugs. Micro-USB connector does not support connection external devices V OTG mode. At the bottom end, accordingly, there is nothing except a small hole for a conversational microphone.

There are no covers or plugs on the connectors, the smartphone is not protected from moisture and dust, and there are no fastenings for a strap. The device is supplied to the market in only one color, dark gray; there are no other color options for this model.

Screen

Lenovo A6000 is equipped with an IPS sensor matrix with dimensions of 62x111 mm, a diagonal of 5 inches and a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. Accordingly, the dot density is 294 ppi. The thickness of the frame from the edge of the screen to the edge of the body is just under 5 mm on the sides, the frame is quite wide.

You can adjust the screen brightness manually or using automatic adjustment. Multi-touch technology here allows you to process up to 5 simultaneous touches. When you bring the smartphone to your ear, the screen is locked using a proximity sensor.

A detailed examination using measuring instruments was carried out by the editor of the “Monitors” and “Projectors and TV” sections Alexey Kudryavtsev. Here is his expert opinion on the screen of the sample under study.

The front surface of the screen is made in the form of a glass plate with a mirror-smooth surface that is scratch-resistant. Judging by the reflection of objects, the anti-glare properties of the screen are no worse than those of the Google Nexus 7 (2013) screen (hereinafter simply Nexus 7). For clarity, here is a photograph in which a white surface is reflected when the screens are turned off (on the left is Nexus 7, on the right is Lenovo A6000, then they can be distinguished by size):

The screen on the Lenovo A6000 is a little brighter (brightness according to photographs is 116 versus 110 for the Nexus 7). The ghosting of reflected objects in the Lenovo A6000 screen is very weak, this indicates that there is no air gap between the layers of the screen (more specifically, between the outer glass and the surface of the LCD matrix) (OGS - One Glass Solution type screen). Due to smaller number boundaries (glass/air type) with very different refractive indices, such screens look better in conditions of strong external illumination, but their repair in the case of cracked external glass is much more expensive, since the entire screen has to be replaced. The outer surface of the screen has a special oleophobic (grease-repellent) coating (effective, but slightly worse than that of the Nexus 7), so fingerprints are removed much more easily and appear at a slower rate than with regular glass.

When manually controlling brightness and when displaying a white field in full screen maximum value brightness was about 440 cd/m², the minimum was 14 cd/m². The maximum brightness is quite high, and, given the good anti-glare properties, readability even on a sunny day outdoors should be at an acceptable level. In complete darkness, the brightness can be reduced to a comfortable value. There is automatic brightness adjustment based on the light sensor (it is located to the right of the front speaker slot). IN automatic mode When external lighting conditions change, the screen brightness both increases and decreases. In complete darkness, the auto-brightness function reduces the brightness to 10 cd/m² (normal), in bright conditions artificial light office (approximately 400 lux) sets to 100 cd/m² (suitable), in a very bright environment (corresponding to lighting on a clear day outdoors, but without direct sunlight - 20,000 lux or a little more) increases to a maximum of 440 cd/m². As a result, the auto-brightness function works absolutely adequately. At any brightness level, there is virtually no backlight modulation, so there is no screen flickering.

This smartphone uses an IPS matrix. The microphotographs show a typical IPS subpixel structure:

For comparison, you can see the gallery of microphotographs of screens used in mobile technology.

The screen has good viewing angles without a significant color shift even with large deviations of the view from perpendicular to the screen and without inversion (except for the very darkest when the view is deviated along one diagonal) of shades. For comparison, here are photographs in which Lenovo screens The A6000 and Nexus 7 display the same images, while the screen brightness is initially set to approximately 200 cd/m² (across the white field across the entire screen), and the color balance on the camera is forced to switch to 6500 K. The white field is perpendicular to the screens:

The uniformity of brightness and color tone of the white field is good. And a test picture:

Color reproduction is good and colors are rich on both screens, the color balance is slightly different. Note that in the case of the Lenovo A6000 there is a noticeable increase in color contrast and contour sharpness, so the image is slightly different from the original. Now at an angle of approximately 45 degrees to the plane and to the side of the screen:

It can be seen that the colors have not changed much on both screens, but the contrast on the Lenovo A6000 has decreased to a greater extent due to the greater brightening of blacks. And a white field:

The brightness of the screens at an angle decreased (by at least 4 times, based on the difference in shutter speed), but in the case of the Lenovo A6000 the drop in brightness is less. When deviated diagonally, the black field brightens greatly and acquires a yellowish or bluish tint. The photographs below demonstrate this (the brightness of the white areas in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the screens is approximately the same!):

And from another angle:

When viewed perpendicularly, the uniformity of the black field is good, although not ideal:

The contrast (approximately in the center of the screen) is normal - about 730:1. The response time for the black-white-black transition is 17 ms (9 ms on + 8 ms off). The transition between halftones of gray 25% and 75% (based on the numerical value of the color) and back takes a total of 27 ms. The gamma curve, constructed using 32 points with equal intervals based on the numerical value of the shade of gray, did not reveal any blockage in either the highlights or the shadows. The power function fit exponent is 2.11, which is slightly lower than the standard value of 2.2, so the image is slightly brightened. At the same time, the real gamma curve in some places deviates slightly from the power-law dependence:

We did not find any dynamic adjustment of the backlight brightness in accordance with the nature of the displayed image, which is very good and is very rare for mobile devices from this company.

The color gamut is only slightly different from sRGB:

The spectra show that the matrix filters moderately mix the components with each other:

As a result, visually the colors have a natural saturation. The balance of shades on the gray scale is a compromise, since the color temperature is significantly higher than the standard 6500 K, but the deviation from the blackbody spectrum (ΔE) is less than 10, which is considered an acceptable indicator for a consumer device. At the same time, color temperature and ΔE change little from hue to hue - this has a positive effect on the visual assessment of color balance. (The darkest areas of the gray scale can be ignored, since there is no color balance of great importance, and the error in measuring color characteristics at low brightness is large.)

Let's summarize. The screen has a fairly high maximum brightness and has good anti-glare properties, so the device can be used outdoors without any problems, even on a sunny summer day. In complete darkness, the brightness can be reduced to a comfortable level. It is also possible to use a mode with automatic brightness adjustment, which works adequately. The advantages of the screen include the presence of an oleophobic coating, the absence of an air gap in the layers of the screen and flicker, as well as an acceptable color balance and a color gamut close to sRGB. Significant disadvantages include the low stability of black to gaze deviation from perpendicular to the screen plane. Nevertheless, taking into account the importance of characteristics for this particular class of devices, the quality of the screen can be considered high.

Sound

Lenovo A6000 is equipped with two stereo speakers, the sound is output through two symmetrical grilles cut into the lower part of the back cover. However, even despite the dual speaker and the presence of the Dolby Digital Plus sound enhancement system, the smartphone sounds modest. The sound is quite clear, but not bright, without a wide range of frequencies, especially bass is not audible. The situation is a little better with headphones, but still, the Lenovo A6000 is not a music solution for music lovers.

FM radio is included as standard with the smartphone; it only works with connected external antenna headphones. It is possible to record programs from the air.

The main rear camera is equipped with an 8-megapixel module with f/2.1 aperture, autofocus and a single LED flash. Again, a fairly simple module takes quite tolerable quality pictures. Autofocus works quite quickly, practically makes no mistakes - however, it makes a fairly loud buzzing sound. It is possible to focus manually.

The interface for controlling the camera is unexpectedly different from those used in more expensive models. At the same time, it is not so much inferior to them in the variety and number of settings, modes, and filters. The menu is clearly and largely drawn, everything is arranged logically and intuitively, all sections of the camera control settings are combined into several vertical columns. There is the possibility of manual control with adjustment of shutter speed, white balance, etc., there is a panorama mode, the ability to recognize faces, apply various filters and color effects.

The camera can shoot video in a resolution no higher than HD (1280×720, 30 fps). Examples of test videos are presented below.

  • Video No. 1 (25 MB, 1280×720, 30 fps)

In room lighting, the camera copes relatively well.

Details practically do not suffer from noise reduction even at high sensitivity values.

The foliage in the background blurs a little, but overall the sharpness is good.

The camera works well with shadows.

Good sharpness across the frame and in the plans, although sharpening is noticeable on the wires.

Good detail and sharpness according to plans.

The camera copes well with macro photography.

The foliage begins to merge only in the background. It can be noted that it is quite good dynamic range cameras.

Small noises are noticeable in the text, but they practically do not deteriorate it.

The camera turned out good. She handles software processing very cleverly and intelligently, which allows her to get some pretty good pictures. Most in in this case The noticeable sharpening is upsetting. But all other components of the program and camera work very well. Particularly noticeable is the accurate operation of the noise reduction and the relatively wide dynamic range, which is rarely found in such modules. In general, the camera is well suited for documentary photography, and sometimes it can cope with artistic photography as well.

Telephone and communications

The smartphone works as standard in modern 2G GSM and 3G WCDMA networks, and even supports fourth-generation LTE Cat 4 networks with a theoretical possible reception speed of up to 150 Mbit/s, including LTE frequencies FDD used in Russia. In practice with a SIM card domestic operator The Beeline smartphone registers confidently and works in 4G networks.

The rest of the network capabilities are modest: only one Wi-Fi band 802.11b/g/n (2.4 GHz) is supported, Bluetooth has version 4.0. NFC is not supported, neither is OTG connection. Supports Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Display, can be organized as standard wireless point access via Wi-Fi channels or Bluetooth.

There are no special complaints about the operation of the navigation module, cold start takes about a minute, the module recognizes satellites of two systems - GPS and Glonass. Magnetic field sensor required for the operation of the electronic compass navigation programs, not in the smartphone.

The smartphone supports work with two SIM cards: you can assign any of them as the main one for organizing voice calls, transferring data or sending SMS messages. You can select the desired card right at the time of the call - all settings are conveniently arranged on a single menu page. The slots for SIM cards are unequal in their capabilities: only the first slot supports high-speed data transmission in 3G (4G) networks, and the second is intended only for working in 2G, that is, in reality it can only be used for transmitting voice data.

Work with two SIM cards is organized according to the usual Dual SIM Dual Standby standard, when both cards can be in active standby mode, but cannot work at the same time - there is only one radio module.

OS and software

The device is used as a system software platform Google Android version 4.4.4 with a proprietary shell installed on top of the system Lenovo Vibe UI The familiar clumsy interface here is exactly the same in design as in the manufacturer’s more expensive models, but due to the simplification of the model, it was deprived of some functions. Here, for example, there is not even the notorious smart button with an additional access menu; work with gestures is also reduced to a minimum.

Performance

The Lenovo A6000 hardware platform is based on the familiar single-chip SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 410. The platform has already been well studied by us, it is a 64-bit solution, but it belongs to the entry level, the capabilities of this SoC are small. CPU it has 4 Cortex-A53 cores operating at 1.2 GHz. Graphics processing is handled by the Adreno 306 video processor with a core frequency of 400 MHz. The device has only 1 GB of RAM, which makes the overall hardware of the review hero even more helpless. WITH accessible to the user The memory capacity is even worse: out of a total built-in flash memory of 8 GB, the user ends up with less than 2.5 GB. True, it is possible to use a memory card. Connecting external devices and flash drives to the Micro-USB port in USB OTG mode is not supported.

According to the testing results, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 platform demonstrated expectedly modest results within 20K in the AnTuTu test, against a background of 60K or more in top models and 30-35K in confident mid-level models. As a result, we can state that in terms of performance the Lenovo A6000 smartphone is closer to the entry level. The capabilities of the smartphone may not be enough to perform some demanding tasks, although the platform can still handle most of the modern games already released, albeit at low graphics settings.

Testing in the latest versions of comprehensive tests AnTuTu and GeekBench 3:

All the results we obtained when testing the smartphone in the most latest versions popular benchmarks, we have summarized them in tables for convenience. The table usually adds several other devices from different segments, also tested on similar latest versions of benchmarks (this is done only for a visual assessment of the obtained dry figures). Unfortunately, within the framework of one comparison it is impossible to present the results from different versions benchmarks, so many worthy and current models- due to the fact that at one time they went through an “obstacle course” on previous versions test programs.

Testing the graphics subsystem in gaming tests 3DMark,GFXBenchmark, and Bonsai Benchmark:

When testing in 3DMark, the most powerful smartphones now have the ability to run the application in Unlimited mode, where the rendering resolution is fixed at 720p and VSync is disabled (which can cause the speed to rise above 60 fps).

Browser cross-platform tests:

As for benchmarks for assessing the speed of the javascript engine, you should always make allowance for the fact that their results significantly depend on the browser in which they are launched, so the comparison can only be truly correct on the same OS and browsers, and this is possible during testing not always. For Android OS, we always try to use Google Chrome.

Thermal photographs

Below is a thermal image of the rear surface obtained after 10 minutes of running the battery test in the GFXBenchmark program:

It can be seen that the heating is slightly more localized at the top of the device, which apparently corresponds to the location of the SoC chip. According to the heat chamber, the maximum heating was only 34 degrees (at an ambient temperature of 24 degrees), which is quite a bit.

Playing video

To test omnivorousness when playing video (including support for various codecs, containers and special features, for example subtitles), we used the most common formats, which make up the bulk of the content available on the Web. Note that for mobile devices it is important to have support for hardware video decoding at the chip level, since it is most often impossible to process modern options using processor cores alone. Also, you shouldn’t expect a mobile device to decode everything, since the leadership in flexibility belongs to the PC, and no one is going to challenge it. All results are summarized in a single table.

According to the testing results, the subject unexpectedly found himself equipped with all the necessary decoders that are necessary for full playback of most of the most common ones on the network multimedia files. That is, to successfully play them you don’t even have to resort to the help of a third-party player - for example, MX Player, although playback there will also support the AC3 audio format, which is good news.

Tested video output features Alexey Kudryavtsev.

We did not find the MHL interface, like Mobility DisplayPort, in this smartphone, so we had to limit ourselves to testing the output of video files on the screen of the device itself. To do this, we used a set of test files with an arrow and a rectangle moving one division per frame (see “Method for testing video playback and display devices. Version 1 (for mobile devices)”). Screenshots with a shutter speed of 1 s helped determine the nature of the output of frames of video files with various parameters: Resolution varied (1280 by 720 (720p) and 1920 by 1080 (1080p) pixels) and frame rate (24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 fps). In the tests we used the MX Player video player in the “Hardware” mode. The test results are summarized in the table:

720/30p Fine No 720/25p Fine No 720/24p Fine No

Note: If in both columns Uniformity And Passes Green ratings are given, this means that, most likely, when watching films, artifacts caused by uneven alternation and frame skipping will either not be visible at all, or their number and visibility will not affect the viewing comfort. Red marks indicate possible problems with playback of the corresponding files.

According to the frame output criterion, the quality of playback of video files on the screen of the smartphone itself is good, since frames (or groups of frames) can (but are not required) be output with more or less uniform alternation of intervals and, with one exception, almost without skipping frames. When playing video files with a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels (720p) on a smartphone screen, the image of the video file itself is displayed exactly along the border of the screen, one to one in pixels, that is, in the original resolution. The brightness range displayed on the screen corresponds to the standard range of 16-235 - all gradations of shades are displayed in shadows and highlights.

Battery life

Lenovo A6000 has removable battery medium volume - 2300 mAh. However, thanks to the low screen resolution and low-performance platform, the smartphone showed a completely satisfactory level of battery life, in no way lower than competitors from a similar segment. The developers themselves promise up to 22 hours (2G) / up to 13 hours (3G) talk time and up to 11 days standby time.

Testing, as usual, was carried out at the maximum level of power consumption without using proprietary energy-saving functions and modes, although the device has them.

Continuous reading in the FBReader program (with a standard, light theme) at the minimum comfortable brightness level set at the beginning of testing (brightness was set to 100 cd/m²) lasted 15 hours until the battery was completely discharged, and when continuously watching videos in high quality(720p) with the same brightness level (at the start of testing) through home network The Wi-Fi device lasted 9 hours. IN game mode The smartphone operated for more than 4.5 hours. Full charging time is almost 3.5 hours.

Bottom line

The conversation in the review, of course, was not about flagship specifications. The mobile device in question is one of those that, even in modern times, is distinguished by an affordable price, which is captivating. Naturally, we're talking about about devices officially present on the market that have passed the appropriate certification, since uncertified products imported from abroad remain in this regard so far without competition. However, not every user is ready to take such a risky step, purchasing “gray” goods at their own risk. But in retail chains, Lenovo smartphones are now more widely represented than ever. On this moment the price for a certified Lenovo A6000 in Russian retail is less than 13 thousand rubles. The smartphone has a discreet, but practical and ergonomic body, a relatively large five-inch screen, a good camera, decent battery life and a quite acceptable set of network and navigation capabilities, including LTE support. The not very powerful hardware platform does not shine with performance, but it is still sufficient for basic needs. Installing a pair of speakers is surprising, because the A6000 is clearly nothing outstanding in terms of sound quality, but at least it didn’t make things worse. In any case, according to the combination of basic Lenovo specifications A6000 is currently sufficient interesting solution, given its affordable cost.

    Cheap plastic
    - clumsy design
    - the back cover cracks and does not hold well, the gap between the body and the screen is 1 mm
    - when typing messages, the sensor on the sides of the screen gets stuck
    - no access to applications
    - no backlit keys at the bottom of the screen
    - there is no light indicator about missed events

    No button backlight
The radio only works with a wired headset
Not a very familiar interface, but this is not critical

The camera is not very good((

    2 years ago 0

Probably 1GB of RAM, of which only 250 MB is available - sometimes it slows down. On Android 4.0 and higher, you need 1.5 GB minimum.

    2 years ago 0

The speaker creaks a little at maximum volume
The camera blurs the pictures a little (although this is rather my subjective opinion after using a DSLR)
You can make a fuss about its local programs - an antivirus program, for example - which are generally disabled (if you really want to)
It doesn't have enough RAM for my taste. But this is already nit-picking at this price :)

    1. The main camera inverts colors when photographing with a flash in poor lighting. Not very detailed.
    2. If used carelessly, the soft touch is wiped off the back cover. After several removals, it begins to play on the sides, it is treated by bending the sides inward, it is advisable to warm it up before the procedure so as not to break it.
    3. no oleophobic coating, the screen is not gorilla
    4. a bunch of pre-installed junk, which fortunately can be removed or disabled
    5. buggy android 5.0.2... three builds have been released - 052,054, and the last one is 056, which was distributed via OTA, but this one also has bugs

Everyone writes that it is smart and fast, but in reality - out of 1 GB of RAM, 300-200 MB are free, because of this, lags begin. It lags terribly, especially when you download something. In order to stay on the topic of downloading applications, I will say that the phone has 8 GB of internal memory, 3.5 GB is available, but there is support for memory cards, this is the real problem. Many applications and games do not want to be installed. It gets warm during heavy games.

The battery is weak, when frequent use various applications and the Internet has to be charged every day. You shouldn’t update the operating system because you will suffer from glitches, but these are not issues for the phone.

As someone already wrote, it doesn’t work well at the edges of the screen, but this is not critical

Lenovo presented new smartphone Lenovo S660. The screen diagonal of the Lenovo S660 is 4.7 inches - thus achieving two goals at the same time. Firstly, it’s convenient for making calls, and secondly, it’s convenient to surf the Internet and communicate in social networks, watch videos, run resource-intensive applications, because the screen resolution is 960 x 540 pixels.

The Lenovo S600 smartphone has excellent technical characteristics in its price category. The quad-core MediaTek 6582 processor with a clock frequency of 1.3 GHz and 1 GB of RAM allow you to not only quickly scroll through desktops, but also run resource-intensive applications. The built-in memory is 8 GB, there is support for microSD.

The 8 megapixel camera is quite good, and therefore, thanks to it, you can do high quality photos your friends and relatives, as well as film interesting moments in your life. The front camera will help you use Skype or similar services to the fullest, namely communicate via video calling. The battery capacity is 3000 mAh, and the thickness is quite small - 9.95 mm.
