The list of printers and MFPs into which the cartridge can be installed is given below:

Why clients work with us

Often customers are afraid that after refilling the cartridge will print poorly or will stain the device with toner. It's even worse if the supplier refuses to solve the problems.

With more than 20 years of experience and serving over 10 thousand clients, our company does not allow such situations. If a problem arises, we always solve it quickly and at minimal cost for our clients. This is why thousands of companies stay with us for many years.

Can it be even cheaper?

You can do it cheaper if you use cheaper components and use less toner. This is unlikely to please our customers, so we do not make exceptions and work according to our internal standards - only good consumables and 120% toner.

Why add more toner than normal? A refilled cartridge always consumes more of it, because... most of it goes into the mining bunker. In order for the Brother TN-2275 toner cartridge to print at least 2,600 copies, it is necessary to increase the fill capacity. Which is what we always do.

This manual is presented for informational purposes and is not a guide to refilling Brother TN-2235 and TN-2275 cartridges yourself. The author does not claim that the actions were correct and categorically recommends that users, if necessary, buy a new Brother TN-2235 and TN-2275 cartridge, and not try to refill it themselves. In addition, the author disclaims any responsibility if, despite his warning, you still decided to use this instruction as a guide for self-refilling, which led to a breakdown of the cartridge, printer, MFP or KMA.

The starter cartridge does not have a page counter reset mechanism. This is because the printer's page counter is reset to zero at the factory. It makes sense to refill such a cartridge only if you have another cartridge that has a counter reset gear, or you know how to reset the counter in the printer manually (in most Brother printers, this trick may not work).

On the TN-2235 cartridge, the reset gear has 3 blades, on the TN-2275 cartridge - 2.

Remove the plug and thoroughly clean any remaining toner from the cartridge hopper.

Unscrew the two screws and remove the guides.

Rotate the smaller guide to release the mount.

Disengage the two latches securing the transfer shaft and remove it.

On the other side, unscrew the two screws and remove the cover.

The starter cartridge lacks a reset gear and a special spring.

On regular (non-starter) cartridges they look like this.

Remove the transfer roller holder by releasing the latch on the inside.

Remove the lock washer.

Remove all gears and special spring.

On the gear side, press the transfer shaft lock tab and rotate it.

Remove the transfer roller.

Unscrew the 2 screws and remove the dispensing blade.

Remove any remaining toner from the camshaft and foam pads.

If the transfer roller felt pads are tightly packed, you can try to fluff them up a little with a flat-head screwdriver or an awl.

Wipe the dispensing blade with a dry, clean cloth and replace it with two screws.

Wipe the transfer shaft with a dry, clean cloth and reinstall it so that the lock is on the gear side and in a vertical position. Turn the lock towards the pick blade until it fits into its groove.

Install the transfer shaft mount on the plug side and make sure the latch is in place.

Install the transfer shaft gear and lock washer. Then install the remaining gears in the order shown. Make sure the gears rotate correctly.

Install the transfer roller holder.

Install the special spring in the indicated position.

Move the gear with the pointer to the indicated position.

Set the reset gear depending on your TN-2235 (TN-420) or TN-2275 (TN-450) cartridge model.

On the starter cartridge there is a locked lever for the presence of toner in the cartridge.

In order to restore the starter cartridge, the refill identifier gear and cap must be replaced. TN-2235 has three plastic levers on the gear, TN-2275 has two plastic levers.

Vacuum the outer surface of the cartridge with a special vacuum cleaner. Remove the plug covering the toner refill hole. Remove the remaining toner from the cartridge with a special vacuum cleaner. Be careful not to touch the gear side of the cartridge.

On the side of the cartridge without gears, remove two screws. Remove the two plastic sides.

The small plastic side must be turned to open the lock.

Remove the board with the mounting axis in the photodrum by lifting it above the two latches as shown in the figure. Set the board aside.

On the gear side of the cartridge, remove the two screws and remove the side panel.

The new cartridge installation gear is installed along with the spring, which must be installed correctly. The starter cartridge does not have this gear and must be fitted with a new side cap and gear.

Remove the black plastic mag shaft axis holder. To do this, press the black plastic tab from the inside.

Remove the metal lock washer.

Remove all remaining gears. Do not lose the spring to activate the refilled cartridge.

From the side of the cartridge with gears, near the axis of the magnetic shaft, press the protrusion of the white plastic lever - the magnetic shaft lock - with a thin screwdriver and turn the lock.

Remove the magnetic shaft.

Unscrew the two screws of the toner alignment blade on the magnetic roller and remove it. Unlike previous cartridges, the blade in this cartridge is removable for cleaning.

Using a vacuum cleaner, completely remove the toner from the toner bottle, the foam toner supply roller, and the foam pads of the toner screed blade.

Check the condition of the magnetic shaft felt pads. If the linings are compacted, fluff them up with a clock screwdriver.

Gently wipe the toner dispensing blade on the magnetic roller with a lint-free cloth. Be careful not to damage the blade. Install the blade and tighten the two screws.

Clean the magnetic roller with a lint-free cloth and Brother Magnetic Roller Cleaner. Do not use any chemicals other than Brother specific cleaner. Place the magnetic shaft in place, with the long axis facing the gears, with the white plastic clip raised. Rotate the lock towards the blade until it snaps into place.

Install the magnetic shaft holder on the side of the cartridge without gears. Make sure the black plastic latch is in place.

Clean the gears, make sure there is no toner on the gears. Check the gear axles for lubrication. If the grease is dirty, clean it and lubricate it with white lithium grease. Install the magnetic shaft gear, retaining ring, black magnetic shaft retainer and other gears in the order shown in the figure. Make sure the gears rotate correctly.

Install the refill identifier spring in the correct position according to the figure.

Set the gear with the pointer to the desired position according to the figure.

Depending on which cartridge is being remanufactured, install the appropriate refill gear as shown in the figure for TN-2235 (TN-420) and for TN-2275 (TN-45).

The gear teeth are not meshed at the initial moment. After installation in the printer and activation of the spring, the gears are installed in the working position.

Install the side cover and tighten the two screws as shown in the pictures. TN-2235 first and TN-2275 next. Note the black arrow on the side cover and the white arrow on the primer gear. They should be aligned with their tips.

On the non-geared side of the cartridge, install the two black plastic levers and tighten the screws. The small lever is installed last and must be turned so that it can be locked.

Fill the toner hopper for TN-2235 with 50 grams, for TN-2275 - 75 grams. Brother 2270 toner type.

Close the toner bottle cap. Clean any toner dust from the cartridge.

Install the protective orange magnetic shaft cover.

Today's topic is devoted to refilling the TN-2275/2090 cartridge, replacing the drum and cleaning the corotron (message on the device - drum error) DR-2275. This DRUM cartridge works on Brother DCP – 7057/7060/7065/7070, HL – 2132/2200/2230/2240/2250/2270, MFC-7360/7860, FAX – 2845/2940 machines. From this list, only two devices - DCP-7057 and HL-2132 - use the TN-2090, and the rest use the TN-2275 toner cartridge.

These cartridges do not have chips, and the counter for the number of printed sheets is located in the printer’s memory; it is reset when installing a new cartridge or a refilled cartridge with the checkbox checked. Starter cartridges (included with a new printer) do not have a flag, so some cartridge refill centers ask you to carry the printer along with the refill cartridge, or offer to install a reset flag with a side cover for an additional fee. Devices in which the TN-2275 is installed count 2600 prints and ask to replace the cartridge; for the TN-2090, the countdown goes to 1000 prints.

Well, let's start with refueling.

After you remove the DRUM cartridge, you need to separate them. Click on the green lever and lift the TN part.

Here, as with any other cartridge with a metal dispensing blade, it is necessary to clean this dispenser. Unscrew the dosage and remove it.

Carefully wipe and clean the edge of the dispenser. I wipe with acetone using a cotton swab.

We put the dosing blade back and fix it with two bolts.

On the right side of the toner cartridge there is a hole for filling toner, closed with a plug. Open the cap and pour in the toner. If you have not previously refilled this cartridge, first empty out the old toner to avoid mixing toners from different manufacturers.

According to the website rashodnika (my assistant from the very beginning of my career), you can pour approximately 50-60 grams per 1000 prints and 140-150 grams per 2600. I myself fall asleep until completely (2 cm to the top), so I won’t tell you the exact figure in grams.

Close the plug and turn the rubber toner transfer shaft to check that the toner is evenly applied. If the toner does not apply evenly, or there are very noticeable streaks, or one side is paler than the other, it will not hurt to remove the rubber roller and clean it.

On the left side, unscrew the two bolts and remove the cover.

Under the cover, remove the gears, pry the plastic lock on top and pull it out.

There, on the other side of the side wall, we turn the latch, lift and pull out the rubber shaft.

I wipe it with acetone, you can wash it in warm water with dishwashing detergent.

When cleaned and dried, put the shaft in place, snap the latch and lock into place.

We put on all the gears, if there is a reset flag, then set it with the number “1” up, as shown in the photo.

Below in the photo you will see how the flag should stand if you look at it with the lid screwed on. When the arrow on the side cover coincides with the number 2, it means that this cartridge has already been installed in the printer and it will not be able to reset the counter.

If the arrow points to one, then the cartridge has been disassembled, refilled, the position of the flag has been changed, and it can be safely put into the printer for further use.

Screw on the side cover.

Below in the photo you will see the side cover of the starter cartridge, and the purchased side cover with a flag and a spring.

TN is ready to go.

Cleaning DR-2275. Drum replacement

This drum has two problems.

Drum error, open the cover and move the slider along the drum .

The printer displays this error when the corotron is clogged. The corotron consists of a filament that supplies the charge to the drum, and a grid that distributes the charge evenly. If the thread becomes dirty, you can move the slider and it will clean the thread, after which the error will disappear. But sometimes the slider does not help, and this happens in cases where the corotron grid is dirty.

The defect is repeated four times on the side of the printed sheet. - this indicates drum wear.

Let's start disassembling and cleaning.

The corotron and photodrum are held on a metal axis fixed with lock washers. Remove the lock washer on the right side.

We move the axle to the left and take out the plastic washer on the right side.

Now we can lift the corotron and release the drum.

We remove the photo shaft and the sponge shaft located under it. The sponge shaft can be pressed out from the outside.

We clean the body and platen, and then put everything in place, only with a new photodrum.

By looking at the corotron you can see how dirty it is. I will also clean it with acetone, since coked toner is very difficult to clean with weaker solutions. Clean thoroughly until the metal shines.

Now you can assemble the remaining parts. We install the corotron and push the axle on the left side.

On the right side we place a plastic and lock washer.

For complete happiness, you can drive the slider a couple more times, cleaning the corotron filament.

We put TN in DR, after which it can be loaded into the printer.

Instructions for refilling Brother TN-2090/2275. Cleaning and replacing the drum DR-2275 updated: December 23, 2017 by: admin

Please note that after installing the pendulum, the starter cartridge Brother TN will turn into a full-fledged TN-2275 with a print resource of 2600 pages (at 5% print coverage).

The Brother TN starter cartridge is typically filled with 700 pages of printing and runs out fairly quickly. It can be refilled for approximately 2,600 pages (at 5% coverage) using Static Control tonerB2240-100B-OS , cartridge for HL-2132/DCP-7057 can be refilled for 1000 pages(at 5% coverage) with Uninet toner.

First of all, you need to remove the protective warranty tape that is sealed on the toner bin lid:

Now you can open the hopper lid using a flathead screwdriver:

Empty the cartridge hopper of waste toner:

Using a Phillips screwdriver you can unscrew the screws:

Now remove one by one the two levers (holders) that secure the magnetic shaft of the cartridge:

After this, you can begin to remove the locks from the cartridge. It is convenient to remove the locks using a flat-head screwdriver:

Carefully remove all locks holding the magnetic shaft:

After all the locks have been removed, you can remove the magnetic shaft:

Use a toner vacuum cleaner to thoroughly clean the cartridge to remove any remaining toner. Be sure to carefully remove any toner from the edge of the dispensing blade.

After cleaning the toner, you can install the magnetic roller back, securing it with locks one by one:

Install the levers in their seats and secure with screws:

Now you can add a can of toner to the cartridge:

Close the lid of the toner hopper, take the cartridge in your hands and slightly rotate the magnetic shaft of the cartridge on both sides so as to evenly distribute the toner over its surface:

The cartridge is refilled. Now you need to install the pendulum. To do this, you can use either a kit with a ready-made side cover for TN2235/2275 or TN2090, or a “native” cartridge cover adapted for installing a flag.

In the pictures below we will show you how to make a side cover for a pendulum with your own hands (if you have a kit with a ready-made side cover, you can skip the instructions for making it and go directly to the part where the installation of the flag is shown).

Before drilling the seat for the flag, it would be advisable to get rid of the starting tooth on the cover:

Place the lid on the edge of the table and begin to carefully drill a hole for the pendulum:

Drill slowly so as not to accidentally damage the cover:

Install the spring as shown in the figure:

Pay attention to the positionbottom gear: the tooth should be set in the position shown in the photo below. The position of the cog also affects the page counter reset. In order for the counter to be reset, both the lower gear and the flag must be set correctly above her.

Place a pendulum on top of the spring:

After installing the flag, put on the drilled cover for fitting, since you will need to cut small grooves on the roof for the teeth of the flag:

The slits can be made with a regular stationery knife.:

The final step: place the cover in place and secure it with screws. Pay attention to the position of the flag's teeth - in the end they should stand exactly like this and no other way:

The cartridge is ready for use.

P. S.

The refilled cartridge with the pendulum should be installed in the turned on printer after all tests have passed and the printer is ready to install the cartridge. This is important because the cartridge pendulum must be firmly in “its” place, otherwise the gears will turn prematurely and throw the flag teeth into the wrong position.

Please note that the checkbox is installed one time on the cartridge. In the future, you just need to twist it to its original position. The cartridge refill process is not very complicated compared to typical laser cartridges HP, Canon, Samsung, Xerox . When refilling, it is very important to thoroughly clean the cartridge of old used toner, otherwise a dirty background may appear on the prints.

All MFP without chip It is beneficial to use with Brother TN2235/TN2275 and TN2090 cartridges due to the low cost of refilling the cartridge. The absence of chips is what made Brother printers so attractive to our consumers.
