I understand that you want money, but this device is outdated a long time ago and offering it at a price higher than modern ones, superior in potential and quality, is insanity

Advantages

cute

Flaws

Linearphase 2016-04-17

1) I was not disappointed in the purchase. Take it, you are unlikely to regret it. 2) A couple of years later I bought the same one for my wife’s car.

Advantages

Three in one. Recorder, radar detector and GPS. There are no complaints about the material and fit of parts, as well as the quality of shooting and ease of operation of the device. From nice additions- there is a compass powered by the ZhPS. Overall it turned out to be a decent device.

Flaws

Insignificant. 1) The size of the device is perhaps too big. These "three in one" will take up some space on windshield. Beginners behind the wheel may even begin to get nervous because of such an “eyesore”); 2) The radar detector can be deceiving. In the garage it beeps, bursting to signal an arrow, but as you understand, it’s not even close there.) In the city, it points to cameras that don’t exist in reality (and I know where all the cameras are). Many people write about this drawback in reviews, but everyone considers it not critical. Based on my experience using the device, I agree with them, because... The device showed all working chambers 100% and, most importantly, in advance. And this is money saved. 3) A drawback has been identified - the device must be turned off/on using the button on the cigarette lighter before starting the car, otherwise recording is not guaranteed. That's probably all the shortcomings.

I've been using the car recorder for about a year. I got everything I expected from him. It works flawlessly, without any glitches, slowdowns or other problems. The video quality is very decent not only during the day, but also at night. The fastening is reliable, good fixation in the desired position. Convenient sun visor that can be easily removed. A good viewing angle, there is a microphone and speaker. Of course, one cannot fail to note the presence of a radar detector. It works almost 100%. Its price is quite low and is completely justified.

Advantages

Multifunctional device affordable price.

Flaws

Magafurov Arthur 2016-01-18

I bought this DVR last year. Of course, it cost a little less, but even now the price for it is good; similar recorders from other companies are more expensive. The picture is of high quality, at night you can also see everything you need, people’s faces, numbers, all this can be determined from the recording. Its design is cool and unusual. Sometimes people ask what it is. The radar detector detects cameras well and warns in time. It is controlled by buttons located at the top of the case. It's quite easy to set up.

Advantages

Optimal combination price/quality, wide viewing angle, has a radar detector.

Domestic automotive developer Leksand Laboratory recently released its new creation - a DVR with a built-in radar detector Lexand LRD-2000. The device, considering that it is a new product, is inexpensive, but it shows us quite impressive abilities for video recording and capturing signals from police radar installations. The device also has a built-in display on which you can view recorded video files. And let's not forget about free shipping, which is even possible on the day of placing the order.

List of device characteristics

Solid body, decent technical parameters

Let’s say right away that Leksand Laboratory assembles all its devices conscientiously, and the LRD-2000 model was no exception. The body is made in the form of a rectangle, and it is compact, the plastic is high-strength, non-marking. The panels at the joints fit well, the control buttons are located on the top of the recorder, and on the side there are connectors for connecting the device to the network and computer.

After several tests, there were no special complaints about video recording either - everything that happens on the road is recorded in HDR mode, and this is more than enough for car photography. By the way, they will turn out clear and with rich colors; license plates of cars can be easily distinguished on them.

Timely notification of radar signals

Since this DVR is a hybrid, we will also pay attention to the radar detector function, which here works in a very decent way. Firstly, signals are scanned in a 360-degree circle, and secondly, the device can detect all modern police speed meters, so you will be well protected from fines.

The Lexand 2000 recorder writes video recordings to a memory card, and the larger its capacity, the more video files will fit simultaneously and without overwriting. You can get acquainted with the range of recording modules in our section Memory cards .

Hybrid electronic devices for cars is now in fashion - the DVR often comes complete with some useful additional function. For example, exand LRD-2000 – with a radar detector and GPS module. On the one hand, this allows you to save money - after all, one device instead of two, and on the other hand, there is an indisputable technical maxim “any universal device will be inferior to the specialized one in each of its functions.” So it's, you know, a matter of individual choice.

Let's start as expected - with the box.

It doesn’t stand out in anything special, except that it says “three in one.” There is a certain amount of slyness in this statement - the LRD-2000 replaces not three, but two devices. The GPS module that is built into it will not replace, say, a navigator, but is an auxiliary unit for a radar detector (and partly a recorder). But more on that a little later, but for now let’s look at the device itself:

The design is, shall we say, “functional.” There is little beauty and grace in this box. If the case were iron and not plastic, it would look like a secret product of the military industry.

There is even a removable visor around the 2.4-inch diagonal screen to protect from the bright oncoming sun:

There is no great originality in the configuration. Power supply from cigarette lighter, USB cable, suction cup with fastening:

The power cable plugs into a mini-USB connector, just like a data cable, but there is a caveat - the device only works with its own power. If you connect it with a standard charger from other DVRs or phones, it thinks that it is connected to a computer, and the radar detector, say, will not work, and neither will automatic recording. I didn’t immediately understand this and for a long time I couldn’t figure out why the device wasn’t functioning normally - I connected it to its own charger in the car. So you need to treat the power supply device with care; if you break it, you won’t be able to replace it with another one. Moreover, it is cute, with an illuminated power button:

The mounting of the device is the most commonplace - on a screw to the suction cup.

Its reliability is beyond doubt, but its convenience is not for everyone. If you have a habit of removing the dash cam while leaving the car unattended (in some places this is a smart move), then after installing it back you will have to adjust the shooting angle. However, many people like this type of mount - it is simple and compact.

There are some discrepancies with the shooting resolution:

The box says HD 720, and the instructions say FullHD 1080. The box is right - the matrix here is only one megapixel and the resolution is 1280x720 pixels (at 30 fps). The viewing angle is also small - 90 degrees. There are not a lot of video settings, but the most necessary items are there:

That's all, actually.

There is a shock sensor that makes the file indelible - even with the minimum sensitivity set, my card filled up in a day. Either our roads are like that, or the sensor is very attentive. So I just turned it off - especially since one of the buttons allows you to mark the file “read only” manually.

There are seven buttons in total:

The central one switches the “radar detector/video recorder” modes, the left three controls the detector menu, the right one controls the recorder menu. To avoid misunderstandings, I’ll say right away that both modes operate in parallel, but are configured separately.

A memory card up to 32 GB is inserted into the device, but the device itself cannot work as a card reader:

It is not comfortable. Moreover, even if you insert the card into the card reader, there will not be the usual folder with videos. Video files are disguised in hidden folders, so that only the player’s executable will be visible. If you run it, a window like this will open:

There you can see not only the recording from the camera, but also a map with the route and speed. If the file is needed separately, the program allows you to export it to avi format. Here is an example of such a file on YouTube:

And here is a full-size screenshot from it, corresponding to the matrix resolution:

In principle, the traffic situation is clearly visible, but the license plate becomes visible from about five meters away. Here it is with worse lighting:

In general, the quality of the recording is “informational”. It is still possible to make out the color and model of the car, but the number is more difficult. It is also easy to notice that the speed from the GPS sensor is not written to the video file, like time, it is written only to the track. So the value of this sensor for a DVR remains questionable.

Another point remains unclear - how to show the recording at the scene of the incident to the traffic cop. Despite the presence of a 430 mAh battery, I have not found any other way to turn on the device other than applying voltage to the input. Disconnected from the power supply, it simply does not turn on. You can press yourself on all seven of its buttons. The instructions don't say a word about this either. So you will have to go to the traffic cop in the car with the power cord and ask permission to plug it into the cigarette lighter. Well, or show him a picture through the window - the length of the cord allows. Why there is a battery in the device remains a mystery to me.

It also remains unclear why a USB cable is needed - after all, when connected to a computer, the device turns on, the message “Successful USB connection” appears - and nothing else happens. The computer doesn't see it. In general, something with the firmware was not completed.

But the radar detector here is pretty good. Firstly, he really catches Strelka. Moreover, not according to the database downloaded from the Internet and GPS coordinates, as most devices of this type do, but it actually catches on its own. His sensitivity, however, is inhumanly strained for this - even in the “City” mode, he sees the “Strelka” in Novaya Usman from Podkletny himself, which he reports in a human voice, loudly and clearly. By the time you get to this “Strelka”, “Radar Strelka!” will repeat a hundred times.

In the city, he generally sees EVERYTHING and ALWAYS. But! This is where the GPS sensor plays its positive role. Since it detects the vehicle's speed, it can be set through the menu to set a speed limit up to which it will NOT sound an alarm.

For example, if you drive slower than 80 km/h, then you have no need to be afraid of cameras, so the device will not bother you. This is very correct and convenient, I think.

You can also configure an overspeed warning through the radar detector menu. Well, what if you think about it and press the pedal too hard?

In general, the Lexand LRD-2000 device turned out to be quite mysterious and contradictory. For the work of the radar detector with speed settings and confident catching of “shooters” it is a big plus. For the low quality of shooting and the lack of offline playback - minus. It costs eight thousand. Are you ready to put up with the peculiarities of the DVR for the sake of good radar detector? You decide…

Lexand launched in September of this year new model in the line of DVRs - Lexand LRD-2000. This device belongs to the class of hybrids; three types of car gadgets are combined in one housing: a video recorder, a radar detector and a GPS radar. No less interesting is the declared possibility of recording the Strelki-ST signal.
By the way, we have already tested a similar model represented by the Lexand LRD-1500 earlier, then its main drawback was the lack of a display for monitoring video recording and simple setup. In the LRD-2000, the manufacturer added a display to the device body, and also used a number of interesting engineering solutions.

Lexand is a Russian brand specializing in consumer electronics. We have already tested products from this manufacturer several times, from smartphones to routers. IN Lately The main efforts were devoted to the creation and production of GPS and GPS/GLONASS navigators, so it is not surprising that the accumulated experience is used when designing DVRs. Today, the majority of manufacturers' lines include models with a GPS module, but all that is promised to the user under the word radar detector are GPS informants that are useless outside of Moscow; there are very, very few real radar detectors.

Availability

At the time of testing, the average cost of Lexand LRD-2000, according to the Yandex.Market service, is 6,300 rubles. It’s not cheap, it can’t be said that it will be more expensive to buy a DVR and a radar detector separately, but the average budget is exactly in this amount.

Equipment

Lexand LRD-2000 is supplied in a compact package with a picture of the device and its technical characteristics. As in the previous model, the main colors are blue and white.

Along with the DVR, the buyer receives: a sun visor, fuses, a USB-microUSB cable, a windshield mount, a warranty card and a whole set of advertising booklets.

Everything you need to get started is included in the kit.

Appearance

By appearance Lexand LRD-2000 is closer to the design of radar detectors. The overall design looks interesting and fresh. Dimensions are 74x50x74 mm and weighs 115 grams.

In the front part there is a display that occupies almost the entire surface. The manufacturer has provided removable protection from direct sunlight.

The main material of the case is black plastic, the absence of glossy surfaces is pleasing. Fingerprints active use can not see. The case is assembled soundly, there are no creaks or play of parts.

All control buttons are located on top, the buttons move softly. But it’s worth studying the instructions; almost all the buttons perform a number of actions at once; understanding them at first is not so easy.

On right Reset button, left connector for microSD cards and miniUSB connector.

On the front side: camera eye and radar detector panel.

Car use

The included car charger has a sufficient cable length; it is enough for hidden wiring along the side pillar. This good tone in this segment, which is becoming an unspoken standard. Another detail that increases ease of use is a button to turn off the power supply. In order to disconnect or connect the recorder, there is no need to remove the plug from the cigarette lighter each time.

The device is attached to the glass using a hinged suction cup. The mechanism allows you to rotate the DVR around its axis.

Settings

The setup process is simple, there is a set of already familiar options. You can adjust the resolution automatic recording, recording off, cycling, acceleration sensor and audio recording.

To start using, you can limit yourself to the factory settings. They are optimal.

Radar detector

The device can not only notify about cameras according to a pre-prepared list, but also detect radiation: X band, K band, Ku-band, Ka band, laser wavelength 904 nm.

Feels like false positives a little, but there are periodic failures with a constant alarm about the detection of “Strelka”. Like traditional radar detectors, you can adjust the sensitivity mode, choosing the optimal one for the current conditions.

Screen

A pleasant discovery was two screen modes: you can display the already familiar video recording interface, and also switch in one click to the information interface, which determines the current speed and the presence of cameras. The minimalism of the design comes in handy here; it’s easy to understand the information, everything is intuitive.

ADR Player

Immediately connect new card memory, the device prompts you to format it. The minimum speed class is 4; in principle, there is no point in buying faster drives; this is enough for the Lexand LRD-2000.

After formatting, the ADR Player is installed on the memory card and the area with files is hidden. In fact, access to them is possible only through a proprietary player.

The player allows you to watch filmed videos, copy and backups, track the speed of movement and look at the route.

Testing

According to established tradition, we test the device under different lighting and shooting conditions.

Crossroads, day

City, day

Route, evening

Highway, rain

City, evening

Night photography

In general, the videos are of average quality, the numbers are legible in good lighting. IN dark time the device practically goes blind and is limited only to the operating area of the standard lighting in the car.

Video review of Lexand LRD-2000

Results for Lexand LRD-2000

Lexand LRD-2000 is a hybrid device, and, as with any attempt at combination, the result suffers in one way or another in terms of convenience and functionality. We will not deny that separately a radar detector and a video recorder in this price range will give more interesting features. But recorders with GPS and good optics start from 5000 per Russian market, here we add another 2000-3000 for the radar detector and we get that same advantage. Such hybrids can be recommended for those who are just planning to equip their car and do not want to take up extra space on the windshield. In terms of ease of use, there are no complaints about this model; the good, strong body and ergonomics are conducive to long-term use.
