Honor 6c all technical specifications.

Replaced by the updated Honor 6C . This is what will be discussed in this review.

Let's start our review of Honor 6C by listing the main characteristics, after which we will move on to a description of the appearance and consider the phone package when purchasing. The face of the smartphone is a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels and an IPS matrix. For a similar diagonal this permission quite enough to comfortably work with the phone.

The “heart” of the device is the 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor on a 64-bit platform. The frequency of the first 4 cores is 1.5 GHz, and the remaining ones are 1.1 GHz. The Adreno 505 accelerator is responsible for the graphics in the smartphone.

The amount of RAM is 3GB, which is quite enough not only for fast work operating system, but also for all modern games. To store information, there is a built-in memory of 32GB, expandable using a micro SD card.

Camera

Camera in Huawei Honor 6C has a 13MP matrix, and the front module is 5MP. There is also a flash on the rear panel. The camera supports autofocus.

Differences in photo and video quality between budget Honors price segment almost invisible. All devices shoot well in daylight, but quality suffers at night and indoors. Using software settings, you can set white balance, shutter speed and other standard parameters.

Shooting objects is surprisingly pleasant and does not cause any complaints. However, for compositions in dark rooms the flash power is a little lacking. The front camera takes good selfies, again in sufficient lighting. Video shooting at 30 fps and HD resolution.

Autonomy

The phone has a 3020 mAh battery, fast charging is not supported. However this function you won’t need it, since the device reliably holds a charge for two days under moderate load. The kit includes a charger that does the job perfectly in a couple of hours. In standby mode, the smartphone will work up to 100 hours.

Communication and other functions

The phone can work in all accepted standards communication, so there should be no problems with calls and using a SIM card from any mobile operator. By the way, about SIM cards: the device has two slots (nano and nano/microSD). This Huawei supports Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi Direct. A separate reason for sadness is the absence NFC module. The price of a phone is on average 11 thousand rubles. With an increased price relative to Honor 5C, some functions were eliminated in 6C, which is disappointing.

Appearance

The design of the device differs little from previous version, but still has several innovations:

  • Upper and lower frames made of plastic;
  • The camera window is now round;
  • Fingerprint scanner on the rear panel.

The “Honor” logo flaunts under the screen, and the exact same inscription is located on the rear panel at the bottom. There is a flash near the camera window. At the top there is a 3.5 mini jack headphone jack, and at the bottom of the case there is a connector mini USB for charging and connecting to a computer. The front side is covered with 2.5D glass, which makes the design of the phone “more expensive” than its price.

Performance

operating room Android system 6.0 works flawlessly. The EMUI 4.1 shell is in many ways reminiscent of iOS - all applications are located on desktops, which eliminates the need to use the classic menu. Enough RAM for 10 simultaneously running applications background. When you turn on demanding games, the smartphone begins to “sag” in performance only at the highest loads (fortunately, in most games you can set the graphics quality to medium or minimum).

For those who like exact numbers from benchmarks, here are the test data. In AnTuTu the device scores 45579 points, and in geekBench 678/2121. After passing the 3DMark test, the phone returned 254 points. According to the latter indicator, the device significantly lags behind the older models in the Honor line.

Device contents

In addition to the phone, the kit also includes Charger, consisting of a power supply and miniUSB cable, documentation. The Chinese, as usual, do not betray themselves and do not add anything extra to the kit.

conclusions

In general, the characteristics of the Huawei Honor 6C allow you to use the device to its fullest: games, entertainment, many applications, high-quality photos are not a problem for it (all this with impressive battery life). However, those who want to switch to the new product should think carefully, because global changes There is no phone in the new generation.

At an inflated price (about 11 thousand rubles depending on the store), the device does not offer anything new to the user. On the contrary, the device was deprived of several useful features, the design was simplified and the screen resolution was reduced. It is worth buying an Honor 6C if you have not previously used devices from the Honor line.

The metal body of this compact smartphone has a recognizable laconic design. Among the features of the new device are a capacious battery, a fingerprint scanner and a screen with 2.5D protective glass. Vesti.Hi-tech figured out all the strengths and weaknesses of Huawei Honor 6C.

The Huawei Honor 6C smartphone, in terms of hardware, has a twin brother in the Middle Kingdom - Huawei Enjoy 6s, which was announced back in December last year. For the European market this device became known as Huawei Nova Smart. True, at first the “European” seemed to be limited in the amount of RAM and internal memory (2 GB/16 GB versus 3 GB/32 GB). But Huawei Honor 6C, presented at the beginning of April 2017, was initially eliminated from its drawback. In addition, in the model intended for Russia, everything is in order and supports “local” LTE frequency bands. According to others technical parameters the devices are almost identical. In general, “he’s Goga, he’s Gosha, he’s Yuri...”.

Design, ergonomics

Today, based on the appearance of a smartphone, it can be difficult to even guess its hardware. The fact is that budget devices are often “dressed” in glass and metal, with the pretense of some kind of premium quality. So, for example, from the front, Honor 6C is a smaller copy of a more advanced model.

At the same time, the metal back panel with rounded edges, complemented by radio-transparent inserts, is still adjacent to the smoothly “flowing” 2.5D protective glass for the screen. Although the Honor 6C does not have a dual camera (it is available), the appearance of the new product clearly gravitates towards more expensive devices. This is to some extent facilitated by the colors of the body - gray, silver or golden. But Honor 6C probably doesn’t have its own, original “zest.”

Note that with a thickness of 7.6 mm, the weight of the device is 138 g. The no less dapper “classmate”, made in a glass-metal “sandwich” 7.9 mm thick, weighs 139 g. At the same time, compared to its not less "iron" predecessor - - the new product has become much more elegant - (7.6 mm versus 8.3 mm) and (138 g versus 156 g).

So, the entire front surface of Honor 6C is covered with protective glass (the manufacturer is not specified) with a 2.5D effect.

To the left of the narrow speaker grille is the front camera lens, which is invisible when not in use. led indicator charging/notifications (disabled in settings), and on the right are proximity and light sensors.

The Honor logo was applied on the plate under the display. Control panel buttons (Back, Home, and Latest apps"), indicated by the icons "triangle", "circle" and "square", are located at the bottom of the screen. In the settings menu, you can add another icon to them, tapping on which controls the curtain of notifications and quick launch icons.

Traditionally, the volume rocker and the power/lock button, which are significantly different in size, have been placed on the right edge.

On the left edge there is a combined slot, closed with a plug, where either two subscriber identification modules of the nanoSIM format, or a nanoSIM and a microSD memory card can be placed on the tray at the same time.

At the top end there is a 3.5 mm connector for an audio headset and a hole for an additional microphone.

The microUSB connector at the bottom is surrounded by two groups of decorative holes (five in each), while behind the right one (viewed from the screen side) there is a “multimedia” speaker, and behind the left one there is a “talk” microphone.

The main camera lens on the rear panel is positioned so that the LED flash is to the left of it, and just below is the round touch pad of the capacitive fingerprint scanner. Let us remind you that the ability to work with fingerprints is not yet available.

From the inscription between the lower radio-transparent insert and the Honor logo, you can find out that Huawei Technologies produced the DIG-L21HN model in China.

Thanks to compact size(143.5x69.9x7.6 mm), handling the Honor 6C with one hand is not a big problem. However, the settings provide tools that make such control even more comfortable.

Screen, camera, sound

The new smartphone has a 5-inch screen with HD resolution (1280x720 pixels). On the IPS matrix used, the pixel density per inch, taking into account the diagonal and resolution, is 294 dpi. Note that the resolution of the 5.2-inch screen is Full HD (1920x1080 pixels, 424 ppi).

The backlight level in Honor 6C is adjusted either manually or automatically using the light sensor (the "Auto-adjust" option). Sensory capacitive screen recognizes at least five simultaneous presses. The results of the AnTuTu Tester program fully confirm this multi-touch. The screen settings allow you to adjust the color temperature. This allows you to change colors from warmer to cooler, or vice versa. As already noted, the display itself is completely covered with protective glass with a 2.5D effect. The applied oleophobic coating allows you to easily remove small stains. Viewing angles, traditionally for IPS matrices, are wide, and the picture quality, in particular for 720p video, is very good.

The main camera of Honor 6C uses a photo module with a 13-megapixel matrix and an f/2.2 lens aperture. There is also phase detection autofocus (0.5 second response time) and LED flash. With a classic aspect ratio (4:3), the maximum image resolution is 4160x3120 pixels (13 MP), and for a wide-format frame (16:9) - 4160x2336 pixels (10 MP). Examples of photos can be viewed. By the way, shooting in low light was somehow not impressive.

The front camera in Honor 6C is content with a 5-megapixel matrix, as well as a wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and a viewing angle of 80 degrees, which allows you to take group self-portraits. Let us remind you that selfie lovers received an 8-megapixel sensor. The maximum self-resolution for Honor 6C is 2560x1920 pixels (5 MP, 4:3) and 2560x1440 pixels (3.7 MP, 16:9), respectively.

Both the main and front cameras provide maximum quality in Full HD resolution (1920x1080 pixels, 16:9) with a frame rate of 30 fps. In addition, interval shooting (“time lapses”) is available, but in HD quality (1280x720@30fps). All content is saved in MP4 container files (AVC - video, AAC - audio).

The Camera application interface provides seven additional shooting modes, including HDR, Panorama, Professional, Focus (changes the depth of field after shooting), etc. In addition to selecting image resolution and video quality, in the settings you can manually adjust parameters such as saturation, contrast and brightness. Presets for white balance and ISO are also available. In addition, separate correction of focus and exposure metering is provided for different points of the image on the screen. As usual, in the “professional” mode there is manual adjustment of parameters such as exposure metering method, ISO and shutter speed, exposure compensation level, focusing method, and white balance.

To create effects, a set of filters such as “Valencia”, “Monochrome”, “Nostalgia”, etc. is available. The shooting itself can be done using the volume rocker, which can also be easily assigned to be responsible for zooming the image or manual focusing. You can switch to the Camera application (also with simultaneous shooting) from the lock screen by double-clicking the volume rocker (down button).

The acoustic capabilities of the Honor 6C can hardly be called outstanding, although the “multimedia” speaker installed on the bottom end of the case sounds moderately loud and even quite clear. You can listen to tracks in high quality, for example, through a wired headset (not included), which is also useful for operating the built-in FM tuner as a shortwave antenna. Note that the proprietary Music application can play FLAC files. But the Voice Recorder program saves recordings in M4A format files (2 channels: AAC-LC encoding, 48 KHz, variable bit depth).

Filling, performance

The Honor 6C has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 (MSM8940) chip hidden under the hood, made according to 28 nm design standards. One quartet of ARM Cortex-A53 processor cores operates at frequencies up to 1.4 GHz, and the other at up to 1.1 GHz. Graphics operations are performed by the Adreno 505 accelerator (OpenGL ES 3.1+), which supports resolutions up to 1080p and frame rates up to 60 fps.

The built-in X9 LTE modem adds support for 4G Cat networks. 13/7 with speeds up to 100/300 Mbit/s. The ability to work with two SIM cards is provided. The arsenal includes wireless connection via Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 4.1, as well as fast charging Quick Charge 3.0. In addition, there is support for cameras up to 21 MP with the ability to record Full HD video according to AVC (H.264) and HEVC (H.265) standards.

IN basic configuration Honor 6C has 3 GB of LPDDR3 (800 MHz) RAM associated with a single-channel controller.

In synthetic tests AnTuTu Benchmark, the new smartphone knocked out more than 45 thousand “virtual parrots”.

The Honor 6C was not rated very highly in terms of horsepower and the efficiency of using processor cores (Geekbench 4).

The resolution of the HD screen made it possible to achieve visual test Epic Citadel has decent frame rates on all settings (High Performance, High Quality and Ultra High Quality) - 58.3 fps, 57.4 fps and 55.3 fps, respectively.

On the universal gaming benchmark 3DMark, where the new product was tested on the recommended Sling Shot Extreme set, an unimpressive result of 294 points was recorded.

Total number of points collected by smartphone on the cross-platform benchmark BaseMark OS II, was 980.

After turning on the Honor 6C, approximately 23.9 GB of the 32 GB of internal memory was available. To expand the available storage, it is possible to install a microSD/HC/XC memory card with a maximum capacity of up to 128 GB. It should be noted that the dual tray into which the memory card is inserted is universal, and if you take one place in it, you will have to sacrifice the installation of a second SIM card (both nanoSIM formats). As in, support for USB-OTG technology could not be found.

Two subscriber identification modules in nanoSIM (4FF) format are connected to one radio module and operate in Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) mode. Wi-Fi+ algorithms enable smart switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data networks in search of better connection. Among the supported 4G frequency bands are LTE-FDD b3, b7 and b20, which are actively used by Russian mobile operators. The new device is designed for LTE networks in the Cat.4 mobile terminal category (150/50 Mbit/s). The set of wireless communications of the new product also includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4 GHz) and Bluetooth 4.1 interfaces. Let us remind you that in, for example, to read transport cards, you can use the existing NFC interface.

From the readings of the test programs AndroiTS GPS Test and GPS Test, it follows that they are used to determine location and navigation satellite systems GPS and GLONASS. An A-GPS option (coordination over Wi-Fi and cellular networks) is also available.

For Honor 6C they chose a slightly more capacious battery than for (3,020 mAh versus 3,000 mAh). Alas, there is still no word on support for fast charging. Filling a battery of this volume to 100% using a standard adapter (5 V/2 A) will take at least 1.5 hours. According to the manufacturer, such a capacious battery can keep the smartphone in working condition for up to 1.3 days, even with intensive use. At the same time, the device can be in standby mode for up to 250 hours.

The AnTuTu Tester battery test was completed with a score of 7,260 points. A set of videos in MP4 format (hardware decoding) and HD quality at full brightness played continuously for about 8 hours.

In the "Advanced Settings" (subsection "Battery Manager") three modes are offered - "Productive" (online video, games), "Smart" (everyday work) and "Energy Saving". In addition, you can also check the optimization of energy consumption settings there.

Software Features

The new smartphone, like its predecessor, runs the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) operating system, the interface of which is replaced by the proprietary EMUI 4.1 shell with its own themes and settings. Quantity preinstalled programs, as usual, is small, but includes almost everything you need.

The “Management” section contains settings that allow you to comfortably control your smartphone, including with one hand. Using gestures, you can, for example, mute the sound, turn on the screen backlight, and also launch specific application(by drawing the corresponding letter on the display with your knuckle). In addition, it's easy to add a fourth button to the navigation bar - to bring up the notification shade and quick launch icons.

Fingerprint registration is not required if the touch pad of the fingerprint scanner responds to voice calls, turn off the alarm, open the notification panel, scroll through images, and from the Camera application, activate taking photos or videos.

Purchase, conclusions

The Honor 6C smartphone is made in a pleasant-looking compact metal case, which houses an average-power filling. Other advantages include, perhaps, an HD screen protected by 2.5D glass, a capacious battery and a fingerprint scanner.

The traditional “disadvantages” remain low productivity and mandatory V Choose between installing a second SIM card and expanding the memory. However, in comparison with its predecessor, for some reason the new product has moved back. Thus, Honor 6C loses in resolution (HD versus FullHD) on a slightly smaller screen (5 inches versus 5.2 inches), it has a weaker processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 versus HiSilicon Kirin 650) and lacks an NFC interface.

At the time of testing, in the Huawei branded online store they asked for 12,990 rubles for Honor 6C, and for 11,490 rubles. At the same time, the new product can only be opposed by a more elegant body, 2.5D protective glass, a fingerprint scanner and large amounts of memory (3 GB/32 GB versus 2 GB/16 GB). But, alas, this will not surprise your competitors. For example, one that has all of the above also available (in a 3 GB/32 GB configuration) is offered for 11,990 rubles. By the way, it can be noted that it supports two Wi-Fi bands (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz) and USB-OTG technology. So, in comparison with , the Honor 6C can only stand out with a more capacious battery (3,020 mAh versus 2,760 mAh) and support for the low-frequency “Russian” range FDD-LTE b20 (800 MHz).

The Chinese company Huawei started 2017 very strongly, during the first two quarters it almost completely updated all its main Huawei and Honor lines. The first step was to update the top segment with the advent of the new flagship P10, but we didn’t have to wait long for announcements on the mid-budget market, since the new Honor 6c was released in April.

I saw it, but I wasn't surprised. The new product was intended to replace last year's Honor 5c, but for unknown reasons it was inferior to it in almost everything, except for the price, which was unreasonably high. In conditions of rather fierce competition, the new product was clearly losing, the company understood this perfectly well and did not find anything better than to update the line again after six months and release Honor 6c pro.

But today we will not talk about it or even about comparing the two versions. Ironically, the pro version is now quite difficult to find on store shelves, while the 6c is found quite often at a very reasonable price of ten thousand rubles. In today's article we will try to take a closer look at Honor 6c from the point of view of new realities and understand the relevance this proposal to date. We present to you our short review Honor 6c, let's look at the characteristics and equipment and draw conclusions.

The phone comes in a beautiful turquoise package, but the equipment included in the device is very standard. In addition to the device itself, we also found in the box: a charger, a USB cable, a user manual and a paperclip for removing the SIM card tray.

The technical characteristics of the smartphone are as follows:

  • Single-chip system: processor - Qualcomm Snapdragon 435, 8 Cortex-A53 cores, clock frequency - 4 × 1.4 GHz, 4 × 1.1 GHz, graphics accelerator - Adreno 505;
  • Operating system: Android 6.0 plus proprietary shell EMUI 4.1;
  • Display: 5-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1280×720 and a pixel density of 294 ppi;
  • Memory: RAM - 3 GB, inner memory- 32 GB, microSD support up to 128 GB;
  • Communication: networks: GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), WCDMA/HSPA+ (850/900/1900/2100 MHz), LTE Cat.4 FDD (B1/3/7/8/20) , TD (B38); Nano-SIM support (2 pcs.), Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n (2.4 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, A-GPS, Glonass, BDS;
  • Cameras: 13 MP main camera with autofocus, f/2.2 aperture, video recording - 1080p; 5 MP front camera, f/2.2 aperture, fixed focus;
  • Battery: 3020 mAh, non-removable;
  • Dimensions: 144×70×7.6 mm, weight 138 g.

As we can see from the technical characteristics, Honor 6c is only a stretch approaching the mid-budget level, and the price of 14,000 rubles at the start of sales was clearly very high for it. If NFC was among its communications, the smartphone would look much more attractive. And so this device is distinguished from its predecessor only by large amounts of memory - 32 GB main and 3 GB RAM, otherwise the new 6c is inferior to its older version.

Design

Honor 6c comes in three colors - gold, silver and grey. We came across a review gray smartphone, and, having twirled it in our hands a little, we’ll say that the first impression was “very good”, but over time the effect of novelty wears off and the feeling comes that in fact, Honor doesn’t stand out in any particular way compared to its competitors from the middle segment .

The smartphone is made in a combination of plastic and metal, or rather, the phone body itself is mostly plastic, but the back cover, apparently, is made of honest hardware. Holding the phone in your hands is comfortable, the metal gives a feeling of pleasant coolness, and at the same time the device practically does not slip and does not stick together when pressed hard. But although the tactile sensations were pleasing, the completely unremarkable design haunts me: the 6c turned out to be completely faceless, a gray mass among many similar smartphones. The metal cover is fitted to the plastic elements end-to-end and without any special frills, and for some reason the camera is painted in the color of the body and practically does not stand out. Moreover, taken as a whole, there are absolutely no elements that would please the eye. From the point of view of design and design, Honor 5c looked much more interesting.

The phone has very wide frames for its class. On the sides this is not very noticeable, but as for the bottom frame, this is simply the apogee of inappropriate use of space. In more budget Honor models, this can still be forgiven, but in the middle class, if you don’t have mechanical navigation buttons, spending so much free space on a simple “Honor” inscription is the height of waste.

The rest function keys and the connectors are in their places. On the front panel, in addition to the already announced inscription, you can traditionally find an earpiece, a proximity sensor and front camera, on back cover The main camera, LED flash and round fingerprint scanner are located, which, by the way, works quite well. On the sides we have: on the right - the lock key, the volume control, on the left - the SIM card tray. And finally, at the bottom there is the main speaker, a microUSB port, and at the top there is an auxiliary microphone and a headphone jack. As they say, nothing unusual, everything is standard.

In general, one could talk for a long time about why the smartphone ended up being so unremarkable compared to its predecessor and competitors. But we don’t see much sense in this, perhaps the developers this time were not given money for the original design, perhaps the deadlines were running out and they had to send “what we have” into production, it doesn’t matter. As they say, it depends on the taste and color... Our opinion, of course, does not pretend to be a standard of taste, and perhaps someone will like this design. So we work with what we have and move on.

Display

The Honor 6c screen module is equipped with a high-quality IPS matrix and has a resolution of 1280×720 with a pixel density of 294 ppi with a diagonal of five inches. This is very, very good performance, but (attention!) - for budget segment. Compared to its competitors, Huawei Honor 6c loses a lot, since most of them have long switched to FullHD displays with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. However, low resolution is one of the few disadvantages of this model. The only thing we can highlight is the vague black color that most IPS matrices suffer from, but otherwise we really liked this display, so let’s move on to the advantages of the 6c screen.

I would immediately like to note the excellent screen brightness, which is approximately 450 cd/m2, and good anti-reflective coating. Even in very bright sunlight, the display remains quite readable, and the colors do not lose saturation. As for the colors themselves, they are moderately bright, close to natural shades. The screen does not flicker, color reproduction is correct. The color temperature is shifted towards cool shades, but if desired, the user can fine-tune it to suit themselves using a special built-in utility.

The white color is as close as possible to real white, it does not turn yellow or violet. The contrast of the smartphone is at a good level. Viewing angles are also very good, colors do not fade or invert even when the phone is turned very sharply, only white tones slightly lose their quality.

The screen is covered with tempered protective glass Gorilla Glass 3rd generation, made in 2.5D format. The phone is quite resistant to minor scratches, so if you use the device carefully, you can easily do without film or additional protective glass. The smartphone is also equipped with a very high-quality oleophobic coating. The finger glides across the screen easily, fingerprints are almost invisible and can be easily removed with a napkin. There is no air gap between the matrix and the glass, which has a positive effect on both the sensitivity of the phone and color rendition.

To sum up, we can say that the screen of the Honor 6c is made at a very good level and, so to speak, is not at all budget-friendly. However, the low resolution by modern standards completely ruins everything. If the screen had more a high resolution, there would be no complaints against him at all. And so the phone loses precisely in the point that the mass consumer first of all pays attention to when evaluating the device’s display. It turned out badly, gentlemen engineers/marketers.

Sound

Honor 6c sounds very boring and ordinary. Huawei smartphones, in principle, have never been distinguished by their special sound quality in the budget and mid-budget segment, but in this case, things somehow didn’t work out at all.

When playing, the sound, although quite clear, is completely flat, all tones are shifted to the side high frequencies, while neither mids nor bass are noticeable at all. There is no question of transmitting the entire audio range even when listening through headphones, and the sound is quite loud only when the control slider is moved almost completely to the right.

It’s a pity that you can’t check the sound of the Huawei Honor 6c in AnTuTu; for some reason it seems that it would show very low results. The only advantages of the smartphone are the presence of FM radio and karaoke mode.

Cameras

The main camera of Honor 6c has a 13-megapixel matrix and an f/2.2 aperture, while it is additionally equipped with a single-color LED flash and phase detection autofocus. The flash works well, and, despite its monotony, the pictures are well lit, but not overexposed. However, we immediately find significant drawback: This camera does not have a stabilization function when shooting photos, so photos in motion often turn out blurry.

In daylight conditions the camera performs quite well. The sharpness of the images is at a fairly high level, color rendition is close to natural, detail is normal in both close-up and distant plans. The camera copes well with shooting panoramas and general plans. It is a little worse at macro photography and blurring the background, but still the quality is quite acceptable. But as for photos at night, this could be described with a harsher word than just “bad.” The image immediately loses its clarity, and a great amount digital noise. It is worth noting that the “noise reduction” does a good job and often saves photos, only slightly sacrificing additional clarity, without turning the photo into outright soap.

The shooting program is traditionally equipped with many different modes and decorations, including everyone’s favorite HDR and “delicious food”. The user can also manually set white balance, focus and exposure, which will undoubtedly please those who like to experiment with the camera. If you compare the Huawei Honor 6c with the company’s more top-end representatives, then, of course, the set of functions of this model will seem very limited. On the other hand, the quality of the 6c camera is not so high that it requires all these options. In our opinion, in this case a fairly good balance has been struck between possibilities and necessity.

The Honor 6c camera can record video in FullHD format at 30 frames per second. But the video quality itself still leaves much to be desired. Even in fairly bright lighting, digital noise creeps in, detail is quite mediocre, and colors look slightly washed out. There is an electronic stabilization function, but it doesn’t help at all when shooting on the go; the picture still remains jerky and torn. The sound is also not pleasing: even with a light wind you can hear whistling and other unpleasant extraneous sounds, presence special microphone as if it has no effect on the situation at all. In general, we would prefer to use the 6c to take photographs rather than shoot video.

The smartphone is also equipped with a front camera of 5 megapixels and f/2.2 aperture. The camera focus is fixed, there is no flash. The front camera essentially has the same functions as the main one, but for obvious reasons the shooting quality is much worse. In general, if you are not a demanding selfie lover, then the capabilities of the front camera will suit you quite well. If you can’t imagine your life without a selfie, then in order to avoid disappointment and nervous tics, it’s better for you to bypass 6 on the side.

We invite you to evaluate sample photos of Huawei Honor 6c and draw your own conclusions.

Memory and memory card

It doesn’t matter which Honor 6c you have - silver, gold or gray, in any case you will have 3 gigabytes of RAM and 32 gigabytes permanent memory. This is perhaps the only feature in which it compares favorably with its predecessor, which had only 2 and 16 gigabytes of memory, respectively.

Today, 2 gigabytes of RAM is really not enough for the middle segment of the market, so the desire of developers to increase this parameter is quite understandable. As for the flash drive, in our opinion, there is no particular difference between 16 and 32 gigabytes of memory, and you will have to use a memory card in any case. But this, of course, is all very subjective, and, quite possibly, there will be people for whom such a volume is completely enough.

The situation with memory cards is also quite standard. The maximum size of a microSD card supported by a smartphone is 128 gigabytes. It’s worth keeping in mind the fact that the 6c has a combined card tray, and you won’t be able to use a memory card with two SIM cards at the same time.

In general, we have no memory complaints about the Honor 6c. Both the RAM and flash memory of the phone work quite quickly, everything is recorded and loaded at a decent speed. So let's move on.

Connection

Honor 6c supports most modern communication formats, including:

  • GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz);
  • WCDMA/HSPA+ (850/900/1900/2100 MHz);
  • LTE Cat.4 FDD (B1/3/7/8/20), TD (B38).

In addition, the smartphone is equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n (2.4 GHz) and Bluetooth 4.1 modules.

Huawei Honor 6c is an LTE DUAL SIM smartphone, but it does not support such a popular format as NFC. Also among the obvious disadvantages of the phone is quite low speed Wi-Fi and support for not all navigation satellites, including only GPS, A-GPS, Glonass and BDS.

The audibility of the interlocutor on this phone is quite good, but not ideal. The smartphone confidently catches the network outside the city, there are no sudden loss of connection or interruptions in speech.

Battery life and performance

Honor 6c is equipped with an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor built on Cortex A-53 cores with a cluster frequency of 4 × 1.4 GHz and 4 × 1.1 GHz. This is a pretty good processor, which today is quite sufficient for the needs of the operating system and performing most consumer tasks, including Internet surfing, watching videos, and simple games. In the Antutu benchmark, Huawei Honor 6c produces an average of 45,000 points, which is a very good result.

However, again, there is one significant “but”. The 435th Dragon is not a mid-range processor; this chipset is positioned by the manufacturer as a below-mid-range solution. Therefore, it is not clear that this chip was forgotten in a phone in the mid-budget segment. The same Honor 5c was once equipped with HiSilicon Kirin 650, which was significantly more productive and corresponded to its class. Why this time Huawei decided to save money in this way is completely unclear.

To prove our words, we bring to your attention comparison table processors in current benchmarks.

Benchmark Honor 6C
(Qualcomm Snapdragon 435)
HTC One X10
(MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755))
Honor 6X
(HiSilicon Kirin 655)
Lenovo K6 Note

Asus Zenfone 3
(Qualcomm Snapdragon 625)
AnTuTu (v6.x) 45 579 50 597 56 991 44 418 63 146
GeekBench (v4.x) 678/2121 757/2071 787/3300 635/2071 831/4092

This single-chip system is also equipped with an Adreno 505 video accelerator, which can only be called a gaming accelerator. Yes, you can play most modern games on it, but only the lightest projects will be able to get acceptable frame rates at high settings. In more difficult games, even taking into account the resolution of 1280x720, the settings will have to be reduced to medium or even low.

But in terms of autonomy, Huawei Honor 6c is good. The smartphone is equipped non-removable battery with a capacity of 3020 milliamp-hours and holds a charge for a really long time. To be honest, we did not expect such capabilities from a smartphone at all and were very pleasantly surprised. Depending on the modes, you can expect the following results from the 6c: in reading mode - 16 hours 30 minutes, in video viewing mode - 12 hours, in gaming mode - 6 hours 30 minutes. Much of the credit for this, of course, goes to economical processor, but if you are looking for a phone with great battery life, then you should pay attention to the Honor 6c.

Software platform

The characteristics of the Huawei Honor 6c include the Android operating system version 6.0 and the proprietary EMUI 4.1 shell. Unfortunately, after the release of the pro version of the smartphone, owners of old 6c can no longer count on updating their phones to new versions of the operating system over the air.

In general, the proprietary shell pre-installed in this smartphone does not differ from that in other Huawei products. In particular, in this version there is a notification curtain that is already familiar to us: by swiping your finger from bottom to top across the locked screen, you can call up a submenu where you can find a flashlight, voice recorder, calculator, and the like. useful applications. Using a fingerprint scanner, you can not only unlock your phone, but also flip through music tracks, answer calls, turn off alarms and view photos. In short, the Huawei proprietary shell, as always, is very convenient and functional.

conclusions

The release date of Huawei Honor 6c is April 2017, while Honor 6c pro was released in October of the same year. This indicates nothing more than that Huawei realized its mistakes and decided to correct the situation as quickly as possible. Yes, absolutely the starting price for the smartphone was very high, and 14,000 rubles is a lot for such a phone. But what if you now find such a device in a store for ten or even nine thousand rubles?

Well, that’s why this article was written: you can study the information provided and draw your own conclusions. We believe that the 6c is definitely worth that kind of money, and when you see such a phone in a store, there’s no shame in paying attention to it. Undoubtedly, the device, as of today, has many shortcomings: it is an outdated operating system, low screen resolution, and a very ordinary, if not weak, camera. But on the other hand, for just nine or ten thousand rubles you can get a smartphone with excellent battery life, high durability, a high-quality IPS matrix and good technical characteristics.

One of the leaders Chinese companies producing cell phones is the company Huawei, its products, including Cell phones, is popular not only in China, but also in Europe. This is largely due to the fact that this company produces both premium devices and budget models. Interesting, but also mobile devices from the lowest price category, are quite well assembled, have good performance indicators, and have features that are inherent in more expensive phones. This article will talk about one of these devices – the Huawei Honor 6C Pro smartphone.

The review of Honor 6C Pro should begin with a description of the package, although Huawei did not offer anything interesting to its customers. Like others budget smartphones, the kit includes: a warranty card, an instruction manual, a charger unit, a cable designed for data transfer, synchronizing the phone with a personal computer and charging, as well as a metal clip necessary to remove the memory card tray from the phone and Sim card.

Many users may complain about the meager package, but if you consider price category smartphone, then it is a priori unprofitable for the manufacturer to equip the phone with headphones or silicone case.

Dimensions and ergonomics

Thanks to its dimensions, Huawei Honor 6C Pro is quite easy to use. The 5.2-inch display makes it possible to operate the phone with one hand; the height is 147.9 mm, the thickness is 7.65 mm, and the width is 72.2 mm - allowing the device to fit into a pocket. Well, the weight of 145 grams allows you to use the smartphone for a long time. Rounded edges and corners allow you to enjoy tactile contact with the device. This was achieved by applying 8 layers of coating which provides a smooth and pleasant-to-touch surface of the smartphone. And the matte surfaces of the front and rear panels create an amazing contrast.

The mobile phone has a metal back non-removable cover, and a completely glass front panel. There are no backlashes or creaks upon contact. Mechanical buttons The switches and volume controls sit tightly in their niches, the keys travel easily.

Design

As for the appearance, the mobile phone looks quite stylish, and is typical for most modern smartphones. On the front panel, above the display, you can find the earpiece, sensors, front camera and LED indicator for missed events. Below the screen is a silver Honor inscription. There are no touch function keys; they are made in software and placed in the display frame.

On the right, the user can find the power and volume keys. Well, on the left is a combined tray for a SIM card and memory expansion card. Speaking of the side edges, they are made of mirror plastic with a reflective effect. On the top side there is a jack for connecting headphones and other audio devices, and a microphone responsible for the noise reduction option. At the bottom there is a connector for recharging and synchronization with a personal computer. On the right and left sides of it are the main speaker and microphone.

On the back surface of the device, you can find the main camera, with frames slightly protruding from the body, next to it is an LED that is responsible for the flash and functions as a flashlight, and just below is a multifunctional fingerprint scanner. The name “Honor” is duplicated on the lid in dark letters.

The smartphone comes in Gold, Dark Blue and Black color options. The matte surface looks premium, and the color shade changes depending on the quality of lighting. The design of the phone deserves the highest praise, but this design is becoming typical for most devices in this price segment.

Display

Honor 6C Pro is equipped with a 5.2-inch display. The physical size of the screen is 64 by 114 millimeters. The frames are not made in a modern way: 15 mm on top, 16 mm on the bottom, approximately 3.5 mm on the left and right. Screen resolution 1280 by 720 pixels. The display aspect ratio is 16:9, and the density is 283 pixels per inch. The phone is used IPS matrix, there is no air gap between the glass and the screen, which ensures high quality Pictures.

It is worth noting that the display is protected by 2.5D glass, it has good anti-glare properties and an oleophobic coating. The finger glides easily, and fingerprints and dirt are easily removed. The matrix has good viewing angles, however, the maximum brightness of the device is not enough for comfortable use of the smartphone in bright and sunny weather. In all other respects, there are no complaints about the image quality: clear outlines, bright and saturated colors, a mode to protect the eyes from fatigue. It is recommended to activate it when using the device for a long time. The essence of the protection is to reduce the ultraviolet radiation of the screen and add warm color shades. As a result, your eyes become less tired.

Cameras

Honor 6C Pro is equipped with two cameras: a 13 MP main camera and an 8 MP front camera. However, the difference between them is minimal: both modules are capable of taking high-quality photographs. Naturally, for a device in the budget price segment. Also features allow you to use the phone as a video camera. This is an advantageous difference that sets the device apart from its competitors, since not all device models under 20,000 rubles can boast of high-quality camera modules.

In the Honor 6C Pro review, it is also worth mentioning that the camera software allows you to use a variety of shooting modes, and they are easy to learn.

Performance

The technical characteristics of the smartphone are as follows: Android 7.0 operating in conjunction with the proprietary EMUI 5.1 graphical shell. Octa-core MediaTek processor MT6750, four cores of which operate at a frequency of 1.5 GHz, and the remaining 4 at 1 GHz. The characteristics of Huawei Honor 6C Pro make it possible to work with graphics; the Mali-T860 MP2 video accelerator is used for this. Honor 6C Pro differs from Honor 6a and Honor 6c in the amount of memory. On board the device there is 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. Of these, 22 GB are available to the user. It is also possible to expand the memory using MicroSD up to 128 GB. However, in this case you will have to reduce the number of SIM cards from 2 to 1.

Testing the new 6C Pro and comparing it with other models revealed that the characteristics of the Huawei Honor 6C Pro are not much inferior, and sometimes even superior to competitors. Thus, according to the results of a synthetic test in the Antutu Benchmark, the device scored 40,000 points. However, when compared with Honor 6X, this device scores 57,000 points in Antutu. To be fair, it is worth saying that smartphones are in different price categories.

In many ways, the Honor 6C Pro version has the positive characteristics of a reliable and functional hard worker, as evidenced by numerous video reviews on the Internet.

Autonomy

Battery capacity 3000 mAh. The battery will last for 7.5 hours of watching videos at maximum brightness, and 3.5 hours when using games. The smartphone's operating time is 23 hours with light load, and 9 hours with intensive use. Before purchasing a smartphone, you need to know how long the Honor 6C Pro battery lasts. But you need to take into account the expected intensity of phone use. For of this smartphone unavailable wireless charger, this can be considered a significant disadvantage.

Communications and interfaces

Honor 6C Pro does not have NFC chip and therefore you will not be able to use contactless payment. The smartphone supports 4G networks and has a GPS+GLONASS connection. The phone supports Bluetooth 4.1, and the ability to work with USB 2.0 with OTG support. Huawei Honor 6C Pro, equipped Wi-Fi module, operating at a frequency of 2.4 GHz.

Results

The release date of Huawei Honor 6C Pro smartphones is 2017. Numerous descriptions of the device, as well as reviews from the first owners, show that this phone is a balanced solution for everyday use. Huawei Honor 6C Pro has pros and cons. The device has a metal construction and boasts a good amount of RAM and permanent memory. The model turned out to be controversial, but the obvious advantages of the device include the camera. The Honor 6C Pro smartphone takes videos and photos of fairly decent quality. For users from Russia, the user manual in Russian will be a pleasant surprise, something analogues of the device cannot always boast of. If you need a balanced smartphone, with an excellent design and pleasant technical characteristics, then, of course, the model is worth buying. The cost of this model on the official Huawei website is about 11 thousand rubles.
