What does the arrow icon mean on iPhone? Homemade blowpipe with arrows

Top part iPhone screen, where the so-called “status bar” is located, displays information about the cellular network signal strength, current time, battery charge level and much more. It is not difficult for an experienced user to understand them, but for a beginner they are little clearer than ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs. For experienced people for reference, and for beginners to learn by heart our “cheat sheet”.

In the very middle are watch, this is all clear. If desired, the clock can be set to display time in 12 or 24 hour mode. To do this, go to “Settings -> General -> Date and Time”.

On the left in the status bar are displayed: signal strength, operator name and type of network used. Let's take a closer look here:

  1. Signal quality indicator— five circles on the left indicate the signal level of the cellular network and the more shaded, the higher the quality of reception. When only one is painted, the connection is unstable.
  2. Operator name. Meaning " Extended" appears when iPhone is connected to a network other than the one your carrier uses. When iPhone is searching for a network, “Searching” appears instead of the carrier name.
  3. Cellular data network type. If to connect to the Internet instead wireless network Wi-Fi, iPhone uses cellular network (Mobile Internet), then the operator name is followed by an icon indicating the network type. Possible values: LTE, 4G, 3G, GPRS or E (for EDGE).

P.S.: Charge level iPhone battery can also be shown as a percentage. The function is turned on in “Settings -> General -> Statistics -> Switch “Charge in percentage”. There is an opinion (not confirmed) that displaying this information does not additionally, albeit slightly, increase the load on the battery. Practice shows: when percentages are turned on, the user begins to worry more about the charge level.

Icons on iPhone display not iPad - what do they mean?

Peace for everyone! The icons that appear after certain actions on the iPhone or iPad display are, in a certain sense, indicators that tell the user whether the current situation a specific function on the device. Although most of the symbols are familiar to us (network signal level, battery, etc.), there are some that will be perplexing and will not force us to think. What do they mean anyway? For example: a lock with arrow in a circle, a crescent moon, an airplane, not the rest.

Now let’s look at many of these icons: we’ll find out why they appear, what they mean, and how to remove them from the screen. Go!

Our client is left with the indicators on the iPhone, not the iPad, placed at the top of the monitor, in the so-called Status Bar(current status line), starting from left to right:

  1. Airplane image. the so-called airplane mode, when it is turned on, all wireless connections, particulary mobile communications. Therefore, when it is active, the display of the network signal strength is lost from the screen, the operator’s name is not a standard for connecting to the Internet.
  2. Indicator Wi-Fi networks. Based on the strength of the reception, one (small), two or three stripes (largest) are painted over. What to do if it doesn’t show up? Read about other Wi-Fi dilemmas here.
  3. An icon in the form of two arrows spinning in a circle appears when synchronizing (making backup copies, copying data, etc.) the device with iTunes.
  4. Cellular network signal strength.
  5. The name of the telecom operator.
  6. The standard for mobile communications (Edge, 3G, LTE), which is mainly responsible for the speed of the Internet connection.
  7. Moon icon. indicates the Do Not Disturb status. If this function is enabled, then there are no warning calls, notifications from programs, or Push messages. they'll finish coming. Or more precisely, they will not be accompanied sound signals, and a crescent moon symbol will appear at the top of the screen. To turn it on or off, go to: Options. Do not disturb.
  8. Lock icon arrow" disables automatic screen rotation on iPhone or iPad (lock portrait orientation). There is an option to remove or, on the contrary, use this “trick” through the lower pop-up menu (to call it, you need to pull your finger from the bottom of the monitor to the top).
  9. Bluetooth. good old “blue tooth” :)
  10. Battery charge in percentage.
  11. Battery charge in graphical form, so to speak, clearly.
  12. Lightning. indicates that your iPhone or iPad is currently charging.
  13. Arrow icon. if shown on the display, it means one (or more) programs are currently using geolocation services. And speaking in ordinary language. navigation. Try to close applications for which they are designed not to be used, because GPS is a big drain on your battery.

So. iOS is rich in icons that represent something. At the same time, there are both intuitively understandable to any person, and not quite exotic, characteristic only of mobile operating system Apple company.

Updated! As I was rightly corrected in the comments, I forgot about the icon depicting a clock. So, this very clock (located next to the battery indicator) speaks of one basic fact. for you to awaken soon. And sell, our client remains faithful. it's a set alarm clock on your iPhone.

New iPhone users often begin to notice how an arrow very often appears in the upper right corner of the smartphone and then disappears like oil.

Some people don't know what exactly oil means and they just start to get nervous about it. Let's figure out whether it's worth worrying about.

What does the arrow mean on iPhone?

It is absolutely not so important what iPhone model you have, sometimes you will have to watch how an arrow appears and does not disappear because it is a geolocation icon.

If you look a little further, the found point is displayed with something like this symbol in different navigators. And essentially on real cards it is an ordinary pin.

Read:

Therefore, when you see such an icon, it means that one of the applications is currently using your geolocation. Most often it is the weather or the clock.

What remains to be done is that our client probably understands that geolocation eats up quite a lot of battery. Especially when the iPhone is no longer new and no one has a percentage of the charge on your account.

Therefore, let's figure out how to hide This popular rumor symbol cannot be found at all, which exactly uses your geolocation most often.

How to remove the arrow on iPhone?

Let me start by saying that all additional details are removed from the door, that when I updated to iOS 10, this arrow was hidden, I just didn’t see when any application uses geolocation.

If you are simply annoyed by the arrow and have no desire to see it, then follow these steps:

  1. go to Settings not looking Confidentiality;
  2. now click on Location services, scroll to the very bottom and select System Services;
  3. paragraph Status menu icon determines whether the arrow will be shown.

Read:

Let’s say it’s very important for you to figure out what exactly is taking up the extra charge and you’d like to intelligently optimize this whole thing.

Just going back to Settings take one step back and we can see all the applications that constantly or partially use your position.

At the very bottom are written different colors arrow and if it's purple, for example, then this application has recently used the position and most often does this.

Opposite each application, the type of arrow is indicated, and if you understand that geolocation is used often there, but you don’t want it, then simply select the item When using the program.

IN system services the same thing, we turn off absolutely everything that you don’t need at all. For example, I only have them enabled Find iPhone And Timezone.

Results

That’s essentially all the information I wanted to share with you about the strange arrow in the corner of any iPhone and what it actually means.

As you can see, there is nothing particularly scary. Now you know how to remove it and even more, how to optimize the operation of geolocation services.

Forwarding, conference calling and call waiting functions - a small set additional features your phone. If they are, you probably rarely access them. Many users don't even know about their availability. But if these functions are not there, and you need them, you will immediately understand how convenient it would be to use them. Fortunately, all Apple devices already have them built-in. How to make forwarding, set up conference calls and call waiting?

What are forwarding, conferencing and call waiting?

All three functions are designed to handle incoming calls. Their use often does not even require additional payment, Internet connection or something else. You can simply enable them in the settings. However, if you are using a CDMA network, you should check with your operator about the ability to enable call forwarding and call waiting.

Forwarding an incoming or outgoing call

Redirection is additional function mobile phone(in our case - iPhone), which allows you to redirect incoming calls from your number to any other. Moreover, this other number can be either a mobile number or Skype, Google Voice and others like that.

Using forwarding is convenient if, for example, you cannot charge your phone, but you need to answer calls. Simply forward calls to a second number. In addition, many call centers use forwarding so that several operators can serve customers at one number. Thus, you can create a whole network of numbers by connecting hierarchical forwarding.

Conference call

Conference calling is quite simple, but very convenient function. It allows several subscribers to talk at the same time. A clear example is any conversation in Skype three and more people. The iPhone, namely iOS 7 and later, provides conferencing for regular phone calls.

You can add another subscriber to any telephone conversation if he called you himself. Or you can dial his number while you are talking to someone else. As soon as the dialed number answers, he will join the conference.

Call waiting feature

Call waiting is a feature that turns on automatically when you answer a new call while still talking to the other party. Thus, the connection with the first is not interrupted, but is put on pause. In this case, you can negotiate with the second subscriber, and then switch back to the first.

Please note that when waiting for a call, you pay for each minute as per conversation. That is, if you have one subscriber on hold and you are talking to the second, you pay for two calls.

How to Use and Manage Incoming Call Features on iPhone

All three functions discussed above do not actually need to be configured in any way. You can turn call forwarding on or off or put the call on hold at any time. But subscribers of CDMA networks, as already indicated, need to first contact the operator to clarify the possibility of using this or that function.

How to enable or remove forwarding on iPhone

Enabling incoming call forwarding couldn't be easier. To get started, go to Settings on your iPhone. There, find the “Phone” subsection and select “Forwarding”.

A menu will open in front of you with just one option - “Forwarding”. Opposite this word there is a slider. Toggle it so it turns green.

Now just enter the number to which all calls will be forwarded. Here you can specify a mobile phone number, Skype or any VoIP (IP telephony).

To check if forwarding is enabled, look at your device's taskbar (at the top of the screen). The icon with a handset and an arrow means forwarding mode.

How to set up a conference call

To set up a conference on iPhone, first call one person.

When the number you dialed answers, tap the Add button on the call screen. In this case, the current conversation will be automatically switched to standby mode.

Will open phone book, from which you can select the second subscriber. Just go to the contact's description and click on their number. Of course, you can also enter any number manually.

In the same way, add all the necessary subscribers (for standard GSM networks - no more than five). Already added contacts will remain in standby mode. Once you are ready to start the conference, click the “Connect” button. At the same time, the button itself will change color, signaling that all dialed numbers are included in the conversation.

A “Replace” button will appear on the call screen. By clicking on it, you can add or remove a number from the conference. In addition, when you click on “Replace”, all numbers are put into standby mode. This way, you can talk to one person from the conference, and the others will not hear you. Clicking the “Connect” button again will restore the overall connection.

How to set up call waiting

The call waiting feature is essentially a two-party conference. One of them is in standby mode, and the second remains “in touch”. When you are talking with one subscriber and the second one calls you, you will hear a characteristic sound in the form of two beeps, repeated at the same frequency. In this case, instead of the current call screen, a new one will open, which will display who is calling.

As you can see, you have three options.

  1. If you click on the “Hang Up + Answer” button, the conversation with the first subscriber will stop, and a new one will begin instead - with the second.
  2. Clicking the “To answering machine” button will redirect the caller to your answering machine, if you have it turned on.
  3. The third button - “Hold + answer” - will switch the first subscriber to standby mode and start a conversation with the second.

During a conversation with the second subscriber, information about the first call will remain on the call screen: the corresponding number and the inscription “On Hold”.

You can switch to the first subscriber at any time by pressing the “Replace” button; or start a conference with both (the “Connect” button). Here everything works the same as in the case of a conference call. Disabling the second caller will remove the conversation with the first caller from being put on hold.

You can turn off the call waiting feature. To do this, go to “Settings” -> subsection “Phone”. There you will find the “Call Waiting” item. Toggle the slider to gray out and call waiting will be turned off.

How to turn autoresponder on or off

Instead of putting the first call on hold, you can redirect the second caller to voicemail.

All devices in the operating room iOS system support this function. But most mobile operators charge an additional fee for connecting to an answering service.

Check with your mobile operator the ability to connect an answering machine and the corresponding tariff.

To set up an answering machine, go to the Phone program and find the Auto Answer option in the bottom panel. Click the "Configure" button.

Next, you will need to create a password for the answering machine and enter it twice. After clicking the “Finish” button, the settings window will open. You can set a standard response (“Default”) or write your own (“Personal”). In the second case, click “Record” to turn on the microphone. You can listen to the answering machine by clicking “Play.”

Click "Done" and your autoresponder is set up!

The forwarding, call waiting and conference calling functions are very convenient to use. Sometimes they can be a good help in a difficult conversation. Especially if you have to talk on the phone often. What can we say about an answering machine, which is simply irreplaceable for business people. Don't forget to check with your operator about the rates for all these services so you don't end up spending too much money at once.

And especially for those who like to shoot with pneumatics or other types of air weapons!

Currently, shooting from blow pipes is becoming increasingly popular. Moreover, this is not only entertainment, but also significant health benefits, since shooting from a blowpipe not only develops the eye, but also trains the lungs well.
Today I just want to offer the option of making your own blowpipe with arrows, suitable for shooting at various targets, both at home and on the street.

In fact, it must be said that currently various blowpipes are sold in gun stores (as a rule, in the same place where pneumatics are sold). True, they are produced mainly by foreign companies and, accordingly, they are by no means cheap.
Therefore, the question arises: is it worth spending this money, especially if you are not a professional shooter, but plan to just occasionally shoot from a blowpipe with your family or friends.
In my opinion, in this case it is much easier to make such a pipe yourself (completely free), especially since it can be made literally from rubbish that can be found in any home, and it will take very little time.

However, before we begin describing the manufacturing process, I want to remind you of the need to carefully observe safety precautions when shooting from a blowpipe, as well as from other types of weapons.

That is, you only need to shoot at the target, point the tube only towards the target when shooting, try not to leave the tube loaded with the arrow inside, etc.
As for children, I think that shooting from a pipe can be allowed unsupervised, only for teenage children (that is, 13-14 years old and above).
If you allow younger children to shoot, then this should only be done under adult supervision.
Although there is another option for children. For example, children can be allowed to shoot from a tube with special safe (relatively safe, of course) arrows with curved ends. I will tell you more about them below.

Well, now, perhaps, let's get down to manufacturing.

First we will make the arrows for our blowpipe.
And you can do them different ways. For example, you can use steel knitting needles (if you don’t mind, of course). Or, for example, make arrows from spokes from an old bicycle wheel.
Or you can simply find a small piece of good strong steel wire with a diameter of 2 - 2.5 mm, and make arrows from it.
I'll just use this method.
To do this, I needed the wire itself, a hammer, an anvil, and wire cutters or pliers.

To begin, straighten the wire with light blows of a hammer on an anvil.

Then we cut off the pieces of the required length with pliers. I made the arrows approximately 16 cm long.

Then we thoroughly clean the workpieces with very fine sandpaper (if necessary), and sharpen the ends of the arrows on a sharpening wheel. Or you can use a simple file for these purposes.

Yes! I made one arrow with a curved end. Moreover, I took a different wire for it - a little softer.

This will be our “safe” arrow, which I already mentioned above. You can trust children to shoot with such arrows. True, since such arrows will not stick, they need to be shot at special overturning targets. As such targets you can use, for example, matchboxes, wooden blocks, or, say, toy soldiers.
And now the basics of our arrows are ready!

Now we need to make the feathering for the arrows.
To do this, we will need the arrow blanks themselves, a piece of any foam rubber, sewing thread and scissors.

First, we cut out pieces of foam rubber approximately 4 cm long, and slightly wider and thicker than the inner diameter of the tube from which we are going to shoot. My tube's internal diameter is approximately 13.5 mm.

And then we carefully wrap (at least 10 times for reliability) the front and back ends of a piece of foam rubber with threads.

We tie the ends of the thread with several knots and cut them with scissors.
In addition, we trim each piece of foam rubber with scissors, trying to give it more round shape in cross section, with a diameter almost equal to the inner diameter of the tube.

And now our shooters are ready.

Now we need a tube.
Moreover, you can use almost any tube - plastic, aluminum, steel, etc., which you can find.
It is only important that the inside of the tube is sufficiently smooth, and its diameters are within the following range: external 12-25 mm; internal 10-22 mm. If the diameters are larger, then it will simply be inconvenient to shoot from such a tube.
As for the length of the tube, a tube with a length of 60-70 cm is quite suitable for shooting at home. For the street, a longer tube with a length of 100 to 150 cm is required.
Since I already had in my possession a ready-made duralumin tube approximately 90 cm long, with outer and inner diameters of 16/13.5 mm, I took it without changing anything.
For greater cleanliness and hygiene, we will wrap the end of the tube from which we will shoot with electrical tape. By the way, it can be replaced from time to time.

And here is our kit - the tube and hands are ready!

Now we load the tube from the breech.

Moreover, the arrow loaded into the tube should stay in it well and should not spontaneously slide down.

Moreover, it is desirable to achieve a certain balance.
On the one hand, the arrow must be held securely in the tube, on the other hand, it must slide easily in it when firing. Otherwise, if the arrow sits in the tube quite tightly, then when firing a fair portion of the exhalation energy will be spent on overcoming the friction of the arrow feathers on the tube. Naturally, in this case, the energy of the shot will be lower, and the arrow’s flight range will be significantly less.
In order to slightly change the diameter of the foam rubber tail on the arrow, you can simply stretch it a little, or squeeze it with your fingers.
So, having loaded the tube, let's shoot!
By the way, as an “arrow catcher,” you can use a board, sheets of cardboard, or, for example, a cardboard bullet catcher, see my article.
And here are the results of my first shots!

Of course, the results are not outstanding, but, in general, not bad for the first time!

And finally, I want to give you some more advice.

Firstly, important note regarding shooting safety.
Be sure to follow the rule: first inhale and only then bring the tube to your mouth and shoot! Under no circumstances inhale with the tube charged and brought to your mouth, otherwise you may accidentally inhale the arrow, which can lead to serious negative consequences for good health.
Make compliance with this rule automatic. And also carefully monitor your children’s compliance with this rule if you let them shoot from a pipe.
Well, secondly, I can give you this advice: Don’t be afraid to experiment.
I have offered you just one of many options for making a blowpipe with arrows. You can, however you like, change the length of the tube, the length of the hands, their mass, the material of the tail, etc.
In general, everything is in your hands. Go for it!

Well, that's all! Bye everyone and all the best!
