192.1681 1 input to the router. What to do if the login is not specified?! Router malfunction or failure

Some people simply enter the IP address in the search bar of their browser that is convenient for them, often these are the numbers 192.168.1.1 or, for example, and eventually end up on a site where many types of routers and their settings are displayed, so users search for their router according to the instructions , supplied with it in the packaging by the manufacturer, as in other devices.

Let's say that you recently purchased a router or, for example, want to change some things during its operation, you, of course, need to get to the page for changing the parameters of your modem. In other articles ( , , , , ) there are already some instructions on how to do this for certain types of devices, and there is also a useful one using a browser.

192.168.1.1 and 192.168.0.1 - what are these addresses and how to use them?

A router is a rather complex mechanism that has its own unique system of operation and programs for its implementation, so it is not surprising that it also has a lot various parameters for proper functioning, opening using almost any user-friendly browser. Read the general instructions from scratch or after resetting the settings. So, based on the request you enter, a specific page appears where you can specify all the necessary and appropriate settings so that the device functions correctly. If you enter incorrect settings serious problems with the modem may occur that will not allow you to successfully access the Internet and perform any actions with the network, but we hope this article will help you configure everything correctly, avoid any problems with your router and use it for as long as possible and qualitatively, making full use of all its capabilities, which in fact are far from few.

So, usually on all modems you can get to the settings menu to change them using the addresses 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.0.1 or special pages with specific addresses offered by the router manufacturer. These pages, of course, are safe and verified; they do not and cannot contain viruses, so your computer will certainly be protected from possible virus attack. Detailed information You can find out about these sites below; in the article, everything about this will be indicated and explained as clearly and in detail as possible.

Variable parameters are also often used, installed on the computer using laser or optical disks, but still in most cases it is more convenient for the user to do everything through the browser, as this saves quite a lot of your precious time.

How to find out the router's IP address?

The first step towards a correct and high-quality connection of the router for its uninterrupted service to you for a long time will be its IP address. In fact, it is extremely easy to recognize it, since on almost all devices the address, password and login (username) are indicated at the bottom of the router; you just have to look down, turning the modem upside down. Usually you can see a sticker there that contains all the information you need, or most of it, indicating the source for more detailed instructions.

As an example, let's take devices like Tp-Link. The IP address you will need is - http://192.168.1.1 (There are models with a different address - http://192.168.0. 1). Login and password are admin and admin respectively.

Another example is on a D-Link modem:

On a ZyXEL type device, it is not the IP, but the website address - http://my.keenetic.net. But also, as before, the settings can be opened using the address 192.168.1.1, which was already mentioned above.

All this necessary information is on any modem or in the instructions for it, which must be included with each device by the manufacturer.

Open the router settings page through the browser

  • First, we connect your computer to the modem itself, either using a cable or wireless Wi-fi. It's even easier to do this using a LAN cable. One end needs to be inserted into the network connector of the computer, and the other into the LAN connector on the modem.

If you want to connect via Wi-fi, especially if the router is new, this is easy to do - connect to own network, which very likely will not have a password. If there is a password, then it will most likely be written on the modem case suitable password. When you just connected the router, the connection may be unavailable or have some restrictions. This is acceptable since the device is not configured, so move on to step two.

  • A browser convenient for you opens (these may be the most various browsers- Opera, Chrome, Internet Explorer and many others. The main thing is that you get used to it and feel comfortable working in it) and enter the IP address of your modem in the search bar. This will most likely be the addresses http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 ( you don't need to use http://). Go to the site by clicking Enter key or search.

Another example - let's try to get to the address 192.168.1.1 (manufacturer - Asus):

  • The next step is that the site will ask you to enter your username and password. Usually these are admin and admin respectively. To clarify, you can also look at this information on the modem case, where all the information you need about setting up the device for its correct and error-free operation is written.

The windows for entering the username and password, as well as the settings window itself, may differ slightly in interface depending on the model and manufacturer of your router, but their essence will be the same. I think it won’t be too difficult for you, the reader, to understand the interface.

If everything is done successfully, you can now change the settings of your device.

If any problems arise, you can, of course, familiarize yourself with this material, which contains answers to many questions and, we hope, this article will help solve your problems if they do arise:

Help me please. I warn you: there will be a lot of text.

Prologue. I bought it about 5 years ago tp-link td8968. Last year It was terribly buggy and I started looking for a replacement. As a result, I bought tp-link tl-wr841n. I don’t know how, but I missed that the new router does not have an adsl port. I had to leave the old router and connect the new one to it via the wan port. I turned off Wifi on the old router. I downloaded the tether application to my phone and set everything up. Everything was great, because I didn’t have to run around and reboot the router every 10 minutes.

Chapter 1. At some point, 3 very unpleasant problems arose, which I will describe below. This moment (but this is not certain) I suspect was the installation of the VPN extension for Chrome “hoxx vpn”. The actual problems (I must say that I am not describing everything in chronological order, but in the order of relation to the problem and “how it is now”, because I don’t remember exactly what I turned on and off when):

1. Download speed in torrent clients, steam, origin, etc. fell 2 times. Although any wifi network around me rarely turns on (I live in a private house), switching channels (which are 1-13) solved the problem. Well, it’s decided. I tested which channel was better, but problem number 3 prevented me from finishing.
2. Without enabled vpn More than one site did not open. Removing the extension did not help. I solved it by disabling the “Use a proxy server for local connections (does not apply to dial-up or VPN connections)” checkbox in Chrome Settings>Advanced>Proxy Settings>Network Settings.
3. The problems described above I tried to solve it through the router settings. IN general application tether crashed for me and reinstalling it didn’t help. I downloaded tether on another device, but, as it turned out, it is not possible to configure channels on it. Everything is configured from the phone in the browser, but sometimes the error “the site does not allow you to establish a connection” appears. Moreover, it is not clear how and why it comes out, and it is not clear how it disappears.

I didn't notice any pattern. This is distributed to tplinkwifi.net and 192.168.0.1, when trying to log in through 192.168.1.1, it goes into the settings of the old router. When turned on phone vpn I get the same error as if I tried to go into the router settings via tplinkwifi.net or 192.168.0.1
, without being connected to the network, i.e. : “Oops! It looks like you aren’t connected to your TP-Link network. Please check your network connection and try again." When I try to log in from another phone I get the same error. And on the laptop it’s a whole song, I’ll describe it in the next chapter.

Chapter 3. How I can’t log into my laptop and what I did to fix it.
I don’t know how it was before all the problems, but now when I try to log in via tplinkwifi.net or 192.168.0.1, it stupidly says “the site does not allow you to establish a connection.” Through 192.168.1.1 I go into the settings of the old router, everything is without problems. Now what advice I found on the Internet and how it didn’t help me:
1. Rebooted the router. Did not help
2. Rebooted the computer. Did not help.
3. Logged in via Yandex browser and via ie. Did not help
4. Removed and re-added to firewall exceptions windows chrome. Did not help. Because of this, I did not do this with other browsers.
5. Reset the router to factory settings. Repeatedly. Did not help. And on all devices.
6. Went to the Network and Sharing Center>Change adapter settings>Wireless network>Properties>Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)>Properties and checked the “Obtain an IP address automatically” and “Obtain a DNS server address automatically” checkboxes. Did not help. I tried the same thing, but with rebooting the laptop. Did not help.
7. I tried to do step 6 via ethernet. Did not help
8.Pulled new router from the old wan port and tried to go into the router settings. Did not help.
9. Disabled the antivirus and windows firewall. Did not help.
Please tell me what needs to be done.

Purchased Wi-Fi router and don't know how to connect it? To do this, you will need only 15 minutes, with strict implementation of the visual aid.

Router - network device, running on its own OS. This means that a driver is not included or installed to configure it. To fully set up the router connection, you need to use a special Web resource and the specified login information. Personal Area. You can find this information on the bottom cover of the device.

Basically, in the “Default Router Settings” column, the standard settings are indicated:

  • IP: 192.168.0.1
  • Username: admin
  • Password: admin
On some devices, instead of IP, the address of the setup site may be indicated, for example: tplinkwifi.net, wifi.com, etc., but the login and password are not specified at all. In the latter case, when you go to the settings site, you will need to immediately create new entry. In any case, regardless of the specified resource, to set up the operation of any router you can use - IP: 192.168.0.1 or IP: 192.168.1.1

Access to your personal account

First you need to connect the router to personal computer and enter the IP address of the settings page in the address bar of your Internet browser. After loading the site, a form window will appear for entering your login and password. We log into your personal account 192.168.0.1 by specifying the standard data from the label on the router.

It is important to know!
If this router was previously used to connect to another provider, it is possible that the password was changed to admin1.

The settings menu will open on the monitor.

TP-Link Settings Menu

The “Menu” may be displayed differently, since each router manufacturer has it individually.

It’s not uncommon to see the question on forums: “I can’t enter the menu for managing the router settings, what should I do?” If you have the same dilemma, analyze what is wrong with the following tips.

How to restore access to server 192.168.0.1

If you set the required IP address on the command line, and the response is silence, there are several reasons for this. It is these that we will now analyze and therefore eliminate.

LAN connection
One of the first reasons for failure to enter the router configuration page may be due to a lack of connection network cable, which is easily determined on the panel.

To fix the problem, just disconnect/connect the power cord or restart the router/computer. Then the panel will look like this:

Automatically obtain IP address and DNS
We followed the recommendations from point 1, but the login remained unavailable, you should check the IP address data. To make changes or automatically receive settings, you must do the following:

Click on the icon displaying the Internet connection, and then enter the “Network Management” menu. In the new window, click on “Change settings”.

Hover over the active connection, call the “Properties” menu, right click mice.

Select the “IP version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” column, it may also be called “Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” and click properties
In the window that opens, check: “Obtain IP automatically” and “Obtain DNS server address automatically”, confirm your choice by clicking “Ok”

After completing this simple manipulation, you should reboot the router (the button on the back panel, near LAN input) and a computer.

If, after turning on your computer, you enter your login information into your personal account 192.168.0.1 and still cannot access the server, then try setting the parameters manually. In the same panel, check the “Use the following IP address” and “Use the following DNS server addresses” checkboxes, then set the parameters. To clarify your parameters, you can call the provider’s Call Center.

Blocking access by Antivirus
Often, access to the configuration server is blocked by an antivirus program; the most common blocker is Kaspersky Free.

To eliminate this dilemma, it is enough to temporarily disable the antivirus activity, and after setting up the router, you can activate it again.

It is important to know!
If it is not possible to temporarily disable the activity of the security software, you will need to completely remove the antivirus from the computer.

Clearing browser cache
Often the problem due to which there is no access to the configuration server is a clogged cache. To eliminate it, just clean your Internet browser or reset it by simultaneously pressing Ctrl + F5.

Ways to quickly clear cached browser files:

After completing the process of clearing cached and cookies, restart your Internet browser.

After doing these manipulations, did you not restore access to the 192.168.0.1 server to configure the router? There is another proven action - resetting the settings!

Reset

This is perhaps the most radical way to solve problems that arise in the operation of the router. This method is also used to reset set password and login, for example, if you forgot or the router is not yours.

The “Reset” button, for resetting settings to factory settings, is often recessed in the rear panel of the device, near the LAN input. To deactivate the settings, press and hold it for 10-15 seconds and release, then start setting again.

To configure a router or modem, you need to go to its settings. It's not difficult, you can follow the instructions:, or. Even in the process of entering the settings, you may encounter many problems. One of these popular problems is when the admin password or admin username does not match when trying to enter the settings at 192.168.1.1, or 192.168.0.1.

In the articles to which I gave links above, I wrote that the settings of each router or modem can be accessed at the IP address 192.168.1.1, or 192.168.0.1. You can see the address at the bottom of your router. There should be a sticker on which it is indicated.

To access the router's web interface, you need to specify a username and password. Typically, the default password is admin and the username is admin. But not for all manufacturers. And when we specify the admin password on the login page (or other data for your manufacturer) and the same username, then we may not get into the settings. The page will simply reload and that's it. Or, we will see a message that the password is incorrect. Well, we won’t get access to the router settings. If you have any other problem logging into the router settings page, then see this article.

The admin password does not work when logging into the router settings

You specify admin and admin, but it doesn’t go into the settings. "Invalid password" error, or " wrong name user". Now let's try to fix everything.

Basically there are three reasons:

  • You, or the technician who set up your router, changed the password from admin to something else. Maybe he changed his username too. So they don't fit.
  • There is some kind of malfunction in the router.
  • You are specifying the wrong password/login, which is used by default.

Solutions:

  • First of all, we clarify what data needs to be specified specifically on your router. To do this, we look for information on the device itself. Or, see information on manufacturers in this article.
  • Try accessing settings from a different browser. In the comments they shared information that, for example, through Chrome password admin was not suitable, but Internet browser Explorer everything worked and the settings opened.
  • Next, try to remember, maybe you wrote down the password somewhere. Perhaps you still remember him :)
  • Well, the most reliable solution is to reset the router settings. The idea is that after this procedure, the settings will be available via standard password and login.

Resetting the settings to factory settings is not difficult. Find the button on the body of your router RESET. It may be recessed into the body, in which case it needs to be pressed with something sharp.

Also, RESET can be on the same button with WPS.

Need to click on RESET button and hold for 10 seconds, perhaps longer. The router should reboot. After that, try going to the control panel. If something doesn’t work out, then on our website we have instructions on how to reset settings for all popular routers.

Standard username and password for different routers

Let's find out which password and login is used by default on your router. As I wrote above, this information can be found on the device itself.

On routers Tp-Link: address - 192.168.1.1 (maybe 192.168.0.1). Login and password - admin and admin.

On D-Link: address - 192.168.0.1. Username and password admin and admin. Or, we simply do not fill in the password field.

Devices Zyxel: address 192.168.1.1 (or my.keenetic.net). Login - admin. And the password is 1234. On ZyXEL Keenetic Start this information is not specified. And by default, the settings are not protected. The router itself will prompt you to set a password.

Routers Linksys: address - 192.168.1.1. Username and password - admin. For some reason they don't list this information on the device itself. Probably because they want Linksys routers to be configured using special program, which comes with the kit, on disk.

Asus: address - 192.168.1.1. User Name - admin, Password - also admin.

On Tenda: address - 192.168.0.1. Login - admin. Password - leave the field blank.

If you do everything according to the instructions, the settings page should open.

Hello!

I haven't written anything on my blog for almost two weeks. Not long ago I received a question from one of my readers. Its essence was simple: “Why can’t it log into the router 192.168.1.1?” I decided to answer not only him, but also to format the answer in the form of a short article.

How to open settings

In general, this address is used to enter settings on most routers and modems. There are actually quite a lot of reasons why the browser does not open them; let’s look at the main ones.

First, check the address to see if you copied it correctly: http://192.168.1.1/

Why can't I access 192.168.1.1?

Below are common problems

Incorrect browser settings

Most often, a problem with the browser occurs if you have turbo mode enabled (this is in Opera or Yandex Browser), or a similar function in other programs.

Also check your computer for viruses; sometimes, a web surfer may be infected with a virus (or an add-on, some bar), which will block access to some pages.

Router/modem is turned off

Very often, users try to go into settings, but the device itself is turned off. Be sure to check that the lights (LEDs) are flashing on the case and that the device is connected to the network and power.

After that, you can try resetting the router. To do this, find the reset button (usually on the back panel of the device, next to the power input) - and hold it down with a pen or pencil for 30-40 seconds. After this, turn on the device again - the settings will be returned to the factory settings, and you can easily access them.

LAN card

A lot of problems happen due to the fact that the network card is not connected or does not work. To find out whether the network card is connected (and enabled) - you need to go to network settings: Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections

For Windows 7, 8, you can use the following combination: press the Win+R buttons and enter the command ncpa.cpl (then press Enter).

Next, look carefully network connection, to which your computer is connected. For example, if you have a router and a laptop, then most likely the laptop will be connected via Wi-Fi ( wireless connection). Right-click on it and click enable (if the wireless connection appears as a gray icon rather than in color).

By the way, you may not be able to enable the network connection because... Your system may be missing drivers. I recommend that if you have problems with the network, try updating them anyway. For information on how to do this, see this article: “ “.

Important! Be sure to check your settings network card. It is possible that your address is entered incorrectly. To do this, go to the command line (For Windows 7.8 - click on Win + R, and enter CMD command, then press the Enter key).

IN command line enter simple command:ipconfig and press Enter.

After this you will see many options for your network adapters. Pay attention to the line “default gateway” - this is the address, it is possible that yours will not be 192.168.1.1.

Attention! Please note that the settings page in different models different! For example, to set the parameters of the TRENDnet router, you need to go to http://192.168.10.1, and ZyXEL - http://192.168.1.1/ (see the sign below).

Table: default logins and passwords

Antiviruses and firewalls

Very often, antiviruses and their built-in firewalls can block some Internet connections. In order not to guess, I recommend simply disabling them for a while: usually it’s enough to right-click on the antivirus icon in the tray (in the corner, next to the clock) and click on exit.

In addition, in Windows system There is a built-in firewall that can also block access. It is recommended to turn it off for a while.

In Windows 7, 8, its settings are located at: Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Firewall.
