With the release of the new Mail in Bitrix24, direct integration with the Yandex.Mail service for the domain, as well as with Yandex.Connect, is not supported.

If you have previously connected mailboxes through integration with Yandex.Mail for a domain, then such mailboxes will remain connected in Bitrix24 and continue to work. New boxes are connected by employees independently.

Since at this moment the portal administrator no longer manages the employees ’mailboxes in Bitrix24, in order to connect new mailboxes, you first need to create them in the Yandex.Mail service for the domain (or Yandex.Connect) and manually connect each employee.

Yandex.Mail for domain

All domains that were managed by the service Mail for domain, in the coming months will be automatically transferred to Yandex.Connect. This is the decision of Yandex.

You can continue to use mailboxes Mail for domainpreviously connected to Bitrix24 before automatic transfer to Yandex.Connect. Or, independently transfer the domain from Yandex.Mail for the domain to Yandex.Connect.

On the domain page, you can to add a mail box  or Tune  already created.

Then the Yandex.Mail administrator for the domain gives the employee access to the mailbox (username and password) and the employee himself connects this mailbox to Bitrix24.

Yandex.Connect

If, nevertheless, your domain is transferred to Yandex.Connect, then the Mailboxes for the domain will then become the accounts of the organization’s employees.

You can manage these mailboxes and create new mailboxes for employees in the section Organizational structure  Yandex.Connect:

To create a new mailbox, click Add, choose Add employee  and then fill in the required fields of the employee’s mailbox.

Then the administrator of the Yandex.Connect mail domain gives the employee access to the mailbox (username and password) and the employee connects this mailbox to Bitrix24.

If a mailbox was previously created in the Mail service for a domain and after transferring to Yandex.Connect it disconnected from Bitrix24, then it’s just like new.

How to connect new boxes

Employees can connect mailboxes using an ISP Yandex  (possible with IMAP).

    Configure mailboxes, signatures, protocols, and other features:

    • Address for collecting lost letters  - the address of the mailbox that will receive letters sent to addresses that do not exist in your domain. If the field is left blank, such letters will be automatically deleted.

      Mail protocol. Select the protocol by which users can connect email programs.

      Note. The mail program will be able to work with the user's mailbox only if support for the desired protocol (POP3 or IMAP) is included in. For more information on setting up email programs, see.

      General signature - the text indicated in the field will be added as a signature to each letter that employees send from your organization’s mailboxes.

      Service "Cases" - you can enable the to-do list in the Mail web interface for your employees. The service is described in detail in.

      The DKIM signature tab displays the public DKIM keys for your verified domains. A DKIM signature helps the recipient to verify that it really came from you. Read more about DKIM signature settings in the corresponding Help section.

Import boxes

You can transfer mailboxes and their contents to Yandex.Connect from other mail servers (personal or one of the public ones - Mail.Ru and Gmail, etc.).

Click the Mail Import tab.

Select the Mail.ru or Gmail option if you want to transfer mailboxes from the Mail.Ru or Gmail service. Server parameters for these services will be set automatically.

The Custom server option allows you to set the mail server parameters manually.

Specify connection parameters:

  • If the source server supports IMAP, it is best to use it. IMAP allows you to migrate your mailbox structure completely.

    Whether or not to use SSL encryption when sending letters.

  • The domain name or IP address of the mail server.
  • Server port (e.g. 993)

Select advanced mail transfer options.

  • Specify mail addresses and passwords for mailboxes in one of the ways:

    • On the import page
    • In the CSV file
  • Yandex  warned for a long time, but who believed him that domains from Yandex.Mail for domain  will move to Yandex.Connect  . Personally, I did not expect this to happen in the foreseeable future, and now, having sat down to write an article on how to configure the display of Mail login for a domain in relation to my domain name, I find that Yandex has dragged all the domains to Connect. How it looks will be shown and discussed below.

    So, we go to Yandex Mail for the domain and are surprised: the mailboxes have red messages about what happened:

    I mentioned that one of the options for buying your domain is to get yourself a beautiful e-mail in order to have a non-standard [email protected]  / mail.ru / gmail.com etc, but something like [email protected]  This somehow immediately raises the prestige and level of the owner of such a mailbox. The options to create such mail without much effort (i.e. without raising your mail server) is to use a special service from Yandex, Mail.ru or Google.

    Previously, Yandex launched a service to create mail for a domain. Mail for domain  (pdd.yandex.ru) and for a long time worked without visible changes. But time passes and everything changes, the turn has come of this service. A year earlier, Yandex created a new service for business - Connect, the main component of which was Mail for the domain. And now management decided that there should be only one thing left, which, in general, is right - you should not produce entities beyond measure.

    Therefore, at first all of us voluntarily and upon request, and now Connect is transferred to all of us, which meets some dissatisfaction from users (in any case, I have seen negative reviews, including from personal communication). But there is no turning back, runaway train never comin ’back.

    First look at Connect

    First glance - it is the most important. My first experience with the interface was how to work with mail now and what is going on here? It is worth saying that this is the usual reaction of a person who worked with the usual interface for n years, and then suddenly he is transferred to something new (recall MS Office 2007 with ribbon panels). After half an hour, the picture begins to clear up.

    Actually, the main page of the service is a set of several buttons:

    1. Mail and Disk that suddenly opens your Mail and Disk. Why are these buttons here and of such a huge size - no idea.
    2. Tracker, Forms, Calendar - and here are the sections of Connect itself, or rather its services, which can be connected. Forms and Calendar are free (for now), but the Tracker is already for the money. Their functionality will be discussed below.
    3. Admin - in fact, here you should look now for setting up mail for domains, now all the main magic is happening there.
    4. Applications - a whole separate page from where you can go to other pages to download applications from Yandex - Yamb (messenger for Connect), Mail, Disk, Tracker and Yandex Browser. Why is it there in a separate page, again, is not clear. Probably in the future for Connect, in particular, and for the entire Yandex ecosystem, there will be a lot of applications that require a separate page for them.

    As a result, now even connecting mail for the domain at Yandex, we automatically receive a cloud-based personnel management system. This impression is twofold - on the one hand, for some of the projects that I had the honor to work on, I needed only one box, and all these additional services were not needed there at all. On the other hand, for large projects, where personal mail was started for a dozen or two people who are also dispersed geographically (they are not separated by the infinity of the office desk), such functionality is very useful.

    How is mail added?

    Since Connect was developed with an eye on organizations, rather than individual users, the process of adding mail for a domain is the creation of a new organization. In order to add a new one, we log into Connect from an account that will be administrator and in the Admin area above the left side menu we look for a drop-down list and there we add a New Organization. After that, Connect will ask us to specify the domain, and then confirm ownership (in the same way as previously done in Mail for the domain). After that, you can add mailboxes for the connected domain.

    In addition, for one organization, you can connect multiple domains, which can be useful.

    Services or what's under the hood

    Now let’s understand a little more in detail with those services that Connect carries. All services that may be available to us can be found and connected through the Admin, in the "Rates and Services" section. Today Yandex offers us two tariffs - a free Connect Basic, and a paid Connect Advanced, which has all sorts of goodies and some differences from the free tariff.

    Where is the mail?

    This is the main question that interested me and most likely will be primarily of interest to you, dear readers. Work with mailboxes is now organized a little differently. In order for us to find it, we need to go to the “Admin” section from the main page of the service and we will immediately find ourselves in the “Organizational structure” where it is needed (see, it is marked on the menu on the left).

    Here we will create, edit and delete new mailboxes. The logic of the service is simple: for each employee - by box. Through the “Add” button, we can take and add an employee (which we need), and in addition we can also create departments (just like in an organization) with our own mail and employees inside.

    Information about each employee can be added and edited directly from the admin panel, which is very convenient, because earlier in Mail for a domain we first created a mailbox, then logged into it, filled in all the information fields, and then returned to the first item of the program. Therefore, I responsibly declare that it has become a little more convenient to work with mail in this matter. Here's another example, it’s just fresh - on all the boxes it was necessary to change the pictures, bringing them to the same general style. It’s easy to do this through Connect - select an employee, point to the current avatar and change to a new one, after which he switched to the next one. Through the old interface, this would have been longer (until you logged in), and you must have all the passwords.

    For all users - their number in the free tariff is limited to 1000 people - a Disk with 10 GB on board is also available. Moreover, the Drive in the free and paid tariffs has some difference - for example, in the basic version, each person has their own separate Disk (and you can expand it by purchasing more places), but on the extended version the disk space is already common, which depends on the number of users and starts at 1 TB.

    Iamb

    Free messenger between employees within the same domain. Just a messenger. The impression of the service is twofold - on the one hand, it’s good that it is, and it’s great that you can combine all the employees in one space, and on the other, everyone is using publicly available instant messengers anyway, since they almost all have the ability to create group chats. Although he has his own plus, it is the possibility of separation according to conversations within departments. And as a corporate messenger, he is very good.

    Tracker

    It’s already a paid service, which is a system of setting and monitoring work. When a project has many tasks, work is in full swing and the ability to miss or forget something is a very useful and necessary thing (tested by experience), but there are also free analogues with such same (and even more) functionality.

    Forms

    Free service for creating forms. It can be used both for collecting feedback from company customers (the form can be embedded on the website), and for conducting surveys for employees - with access by link. There are both ready-made templates and ample opportunities for creating your own questionnaire. However, if you need such a service without Connect, then you can use the Yandex.Vzglyad service.


    Wiki

    But this is already a very useful thing - this service allows you to create an internal database of the organization. You can use notepad for ideas and projects, as well as important and useful information of a reference sense, including documentation on projects and developments. In short-term projects, this is usually not used, but in other cases, having a resource at hand where it is described in detail (or how it turned out) how and what needs to be done (or how it works), especially for beginners in the organization. The result is its own Wikipedia, with authors and edits. And most importantly - it's free.     People and Calendar

    I combined these two services in one point, because they have the most obvious scope. Service People  It is connected by default and is responsible for contacts of employees of your organization, team building and management. BUT The calendar  allows you to make a general scheduler.

    According to the result

    As a result, we received a new service and it is definitely difficult to say something about it, rather like in a movie - for the Athos musketeer it is too much, and for Count de La Faure - too little.

    If you previously used Mail for a domain from Yandex and / or other than mailboxes, you don’t need anything else, then the whole functionality of Connect seems to me unnecessary, and work for untrained users may raise questions - what and where to look now. And for organizations and serious business, there is clearly not enough functionality. For example, I'll take Bitrix24 (which I have been using for a long time) - there are much more opportunities there even in a free tariff, and you can also create mail for your domain.

    Registration in the system

    As you can see, the registration procedure is quite affordable, but you will definitely need to go through SMS confirmation.

    Now you need to pay attention to such a moment that during the registration process you will be offered a third-level domain name-companyname.yaconnect.com. If you don’t want to “spoil” your reputation with this name, then now use this option, and then specify your “native” domain name in the settings.

    But, as practice shows, some find it difficult to connect their own domain name, then in this case, you may need to contact a familiar specialist, or rather an experienced system administrator, so that there is no need to mess with such "horrors" of computer thought as DNS, DKIM , CNAME.     Corporate Mailboxes
