Method 3: Chrome Web Store
Despite the fact that Yandex.Browser supports extensions for both Google Chrome and Opera, it is integrated only with the latter’s store. You can find and install extensions designed for a competitive web browser either through a search or by going to its store using the link provided below.
Note: Not all extensions designed for Google Chrome are compatible with Yandex Browser.
- On the main page of the Chrome Web Store, find the extension you need or use the search bar for these purposes.

We'll see a whole bunch of extensions, most of which are inactive. Some of them are built in by default, and the other part is imported from my Google Chrome browser. If you have not previously used addons in other web browsers, then nothing will be imported.
If you want, you can enable several of the offered or imported addons. To do this, just click on the button with the “Off” slider. They are deactivated in exactly the same way.
But we need to learn how to play something new, so we go down to the very bottom and press the button "Catalog of extensions for Yandex browser".
Next, you will be taken to the Opera addon store. Yes, Yandex doesn’t have its own additions as such, so it takes it from other sources. In principle this is correct. And if you need something specific, you can enter it in the search bar. Let's say I want to install tweaks for VK. In this case I enter VK tweaks and the search itself offers us available add-ons.
Next, we will go to the page of the addon itself, where we will see all the information about it, screenshots and comments. For example, this add-on is needed in order to change the background in VK, as well as add and remove unnecessary blocks, get rid of advertising and many other interesting features. If we are satisfied with everything, then press the button “Add to Yandex browser”.
After this, the icon will appear in the extensions panel and you can go into it to view the necessary settings. Well, after you select everything you need, just exit it and everything will be automatically saved. And to make sure that everything works, go to VK and see what has changed.

Many people don’t even know that you can install extensions for the Yandex browser directly from the Google Chrome store and they will work successfully without conflicting. Only a few addons will be available to you and only some are in the block "From Other Sources". But nevertheless, by clicking on any of the fields, you can select a key combination to activate. Just keep in mind that you must hold down the key CTRL or ALT, and then something else, since without them this function will not work.
That's all. Now you can activate and disable extensions at any time using hotkeys. But I repeat once again that this function is not particularly useful.
How to remove an extension from Yandex browser
In order to remove any add-on, you have two options:
- Temporarily turn them off so that you can start them again at any time.
- Remove them permanently. And if you need them again, you can simply install them in the browser again.
