Yandex browser extensions do not save settings. Extensions for Yandex browser - the best selection for the user

One of the most popular browsers on the Russian-language Internet initially contains in its arsenal the necessary tools for comfortable surfing. If the basic functionality of a Yandex web browser is not enough, it can be “upgraded” using extensions, the installation methods of which will be discussed in our article today.

Yandex.Browser contains the required minimum of extensions - including the AdGuard ad blocker, an anti-shock module, the company’s proprietary services, and some others. Everything else is installed using one of the stores - Google Chrome Web Store or Opera Addons, with which this web browser is fully compatible.

Method 1: Browser Settings

Ordinary Internet users do not need to load the Yandex browser with third-party add-ons - those integrated into it will be more than enough for many. You can access and activate them as follows:

  1. Open the web browser menu by left-clicking on the three horizontal bars in the upper right corner and select "Extras".
  2. Scroll through the list of extensions built into Yandex Browser and find among them the one (or those) you need.
  3. Just move the switch to the right of the add-on name

    to the active position.

This is how easy it is to enable any of the extensions integrated into the web browser in question. Some of them, for example, AdGuard mentioned above, require configuration immediately after activation and installation.

    Method 2: Opera Addons

If the add-ons that are included in the basic Yandex browser are not enough for you, you can go to the Opera Store to search for and install new ones.

    1. Repeat steps 1-2 from the method described above, scrolling through the page "Additions" until the end.
    2. Click on the button "Catalog of extensions for Yandex.Browser".
    3. Once on the Opera Addons website, find the required add-on on its main page or use the search bar located in the upper right corner.
    4. Once you have made your choice, click on the extension preview to go to the page with its description.
    5. Click on the button located in the upper right corner “Add to Yandex.Browser”,

after which the installation procedure will begin.

Almost immediately under the search bar of your web browser, a small window will appear in which you should click the button "Install extension" to confirm your intentions.

    6. After the installation of the add-on is complete, its icon will appear to the right of the search bar.

Left clicking on it brings up its own menu and/or functions,

and the right one – standard settings.

    7. Installing add-ons from Opera Addons will not cause any difficulties even for a beginner. One of the key advantages of this approach, in addition to the assortment of 1,500 items, is its convenience and security - you can go to the branded extension store directly from the Yandex Browser settings.

    Method 3: Chrome Web Store

Despite the fact that Yandex.Browser supports extensions for both Google Chrome and Opera, it is integrated only with the latter’s store. You can find and install extensions designed for a competitive web browser either through a search or by going to its store using the link provided below.

Note: Not all extensions designed for Google Chrome are compatible with Yandex Browser.

    1. On the main page of the Chrome Web Store, find the extension you need or use the search bar for these purposes.

Note: Additionally, you can define some search criteria - this is the category, the capabilities of the required add-on, its rating.

    2. If you used search, then after clicking "Enter" Several similar results will appear at once.

Select the extension you are interested in, focusing on its developer, description, ratings and number of users, then click on the button "Install".

Then in the pop-up window that appears, click "Install extension" and wait for the procedure to complete.

    3. After the add-on is installed in Yandex.Browser, you can configure it (if necessary) and open the menu (LMB)

or go to the list of standard parameters (RMB).

    4. As you can see, the search and installation of extensions from the Chrome Web Store in Yandex Browser is carried out using the same algorithm as from Opera Addons. The difference lies only in the convenience and speed of access - the store considered in this method is not integrated into the web browser, so you will either have to save the link to it as a bookmark or search for it yourself each time.

All methods of installing add-ons in Yandex.Browser that we discussed in this article have one common drawback, which is the differences in the range. That is, it is impossible to know in advance whether a particular extension is available in a particular store, not to mention whether it is present in the standard set of a web browser. In such cases, in order not to rush between the program settings and two trading platforms, it is better to immediately use the search - just enter the following query in Google or Yandex:

Download “extension name” for Yandex Browser

Of course, instead of the second and third words (in quotes), you just need to enter the name of the desired addition. Next, when the search results are displayed, make sure that they “belong” to the Chrome Web Store or Opera Addons site and follow the link, then simply install, following one of the two algorithms described above.

Yandex Browser is a completely self-sufficient program and has many useful functions. However, not everyone is satisfied with the range of features offered and many users prefer to use built-in extensions, which are called add-ons in Yandex Browser. Installing them is a snap.

How to open the section with extensions in Yandex Browser

Some inexperienced users do not know how to open the menu with extensions. This can be done through the browser start page or the settings menu.

  • You can get to the section with extensions from the start page of your Yandex Browser. To do this, create a new tab and click the “Add-ons” button, then select “All Add-ons”.

    Click "All Add-ons"

  • You can also get to the extensions section through the settings menu. To do this, click on the settings button in the upper right corner of your browser and select the “Add-ons” section.

    Select "Add-ons"

  • In the window that opens, you will see all the extensions installed on your browser, as well as several recommended by Yandex Browser itself.
  • Where to find and install a new extension

Unfortunately, Yandex Browser does not have its own extension store, but almost all add-ons for Google Chrome and Opera browsers work like native ones for it.

  • To open the extension store, go to the add-ons section, as shown above, scroll to the very bottom and click on the “Extension Catalog for Yandex.Browser” button. After this, you will be redirected to the Opera browser extension store.

Click on the button “Catalog of extensions for Yandex.Browser”

  • All extensions listed on the page that opens are fully supported by your browser and you can safely choose any one you are interested in. In the upper right corner of the page you can use the search and also set up a language filter for the add-ons shown.

Don't forget to set up the language filter

  • Having selected the add-on you are interested in, open it and click the “Add to Yandex.Browser” button.

    Click "Add to Yandex.Browser"

  • During the installation process, a security alert should appear in which you will need to click “Install extension”.

    Click "Install extension"

  • After this, the extension will be installed and you can find it in the list of add-ons. A small icon will also appear next to the settings menu - all active extensions will be located here.

All active extensions will be located here

  • Possible errors: why they happen and how to solve them

During the installation or operation of add-ons, unexpected failures and errors may occur; we will tell you how to resolve them.

    Permanently disabling the add-on

Yandex Browser allows you to install extensions only from the official directories for Chrome and Opera, and it considers add-ons downloaded from third-party resources to be dangerous and blocks their operation, which displays a corresponding message.

Appears when connecting a third-party extension

It is impossible to completely disable these security measures, but you can temporarily enable the add-on for one session, that is, the extension will have to be re-enabled every time you start Yandex Browser.

If an application downloaded from official catalogs is blocked, it must be deleted and reinstalled.

Unable to verify the authenticity of the add-on

Yandex Browser periodically re-checks all installed add-ons. At this stage, an error may also occur that was made by the extension developers themselves, as a result of which the new extension update did not pass the license check.

The error is caused by the incompetence of the add-on developers

As a result of an error, a corresponding notification will pop up and you just need to click the “Reinstall” button, after which the verified version of the extension will be loaded.

    Removal and disabling

If you get tired of the extension or you realize that it doesn’t suit you, you can always get rid of it.

Going to the add-ons section, find the extension you don’t like and choose between disabling it or completely removing it.

There are no special tricks for working with extensions, but you still need to know some basic principles.

    Setting up extensions

Many extensions have a larger set of functions than those installed by default and must be activated manually.

  • Go to the list of extensions and click the “More details” button on the extension you are interested in.

    Click the "More details" button

  • After this, you will see a list of basic actions where you can allow the extension to be used in incognito mode or configure the basic functions of the add-on, which is often necessary.

    List of hidden actions

  • Installing extensions from the catalog for Chrome

Sometimes you can’t find the add-ons you need in the Opera catalog offered by your browser. In such cases, you can download the necessary extensions from the Google catalog, which are also supported by Yandex Browser.

When you go to the catalog through Yandex Browser, a filter will be automatically applied to filter out all incompatible extensions.

  • To get to the Google extensions catalog, enter “Chrome Web Store” in the search bar and open the necessary link.

Yandex Browser also supports add-ons designed for the Chrome browser

  • Google's add-on catalog is not much different from the previous one, and installing extensions is done in exactly the same way.

All proposed applications are compatible with Yandex Browser

  • Yandex Browser without checking add-on license

As mentioned above, Yandex Browser checks all extensions for a license and you can only use an extension that you downloaded from external sources by turning it on again each time you start the browser. However, the beta version of the browser does not check the licensing of its add-ons and by installing it, you can use any extensions with impunity.

The beta version of the browser does not check add-ons for license availability

    Disabling ads in add-ons

Many paid add-ons have alternative free versions that contain a lot of intrusive advertising. To disable this advertising, you simply need to activate the Anti-Shock add-on, which is already on the recommended list.

Installing extensions for Yandex Browser is a fairly simple task and can be done even by inexperienced users. However, you should not get carried away with piling up a large number of add-ons if you doubt their necessity, since an excessive number of them can cause a heavy load on your computer, which will lead to slowdowns and slowdown of your browser.

Hi all! Today we will talk about how to install extensions in the Yandex browser, not only from its catalog, but also from the Google Chrome store. We all know that extensions are needed to complement our browser with additional auxiliary features. And in my article on how to do this for Google Chrome, I explained everything in detail, but for Yandex everything is a little different and a little more confusing.

    Standard installation of add-ons

First of all, I would like to say right away that the Yandex browser itself does not have its own add-ons and we will take all add-ons directly from Opera. To do this, you will need to follow a few simple steps.

We go to the Yandex browser and click on the “Menu” item, which is located in the upper right corner and is indicated by three lines. After the menu opens, select “Add-ons”.

We'll see a whole bunch of extensions, most of which are inactive. Some of them are built in by default, and the other part is imported from my Google Chrome browser. If you have not previously used addons in other web browsers, then nothing will be imported.

If you want, you can enable several of the offered or imported addons. To do this, just click on the button with the “Off” slider. They are deactivated in exactly the same way.

But we need to learn how to play something new, so we go down to the very bottom and press the button "Catalog of extensions for Yandex browser".

Next, you will be taken to the Opera addon store. Yes, Yandex doesn’t have its own additions as such, so it takes it from other sources. In principle this is correct. Why reinvent the wheel when you can ride an existing one? The main page will show a large part of the recommended add-ons, among which will be the famous Savefrom.net add-on, thanks to which you can download videos from YouTube and social networks. And if you need something specific, you can enter it in the search bar. Let's say I want to install tweaks for VK. In this case I enter VK tweaks and the search itself offers us available add-ons.

Next, we will go to the page of the addon itself, where we will see all the information about it, screenshots and comments. For example, this add-on is needed in order to change the background in VK, as well as add and remove unnecessary blocks, get rid of advertising and many other interesting features. If we are satisfied with everything, then press the button “Add to Yandex browser”.

After this, the icon will appear in the extensions panel and you can go into it to view the necessary settings. Well, after you select everything you need, just exit it and everything will be automatically saved. And to make sure that everything works, go to VK and see what has changed.

Installing extensions from the Google Chrome store

Many people don’t even know that you can install extensions for the Yandex browser directly from the Google Chrome store and they will work successfully without conflicting. True, sometimes some of them may not work. For example, if I want to install an extension that is responsible for the night mode in VK, then I will simply be denied installation, since it is not applicable for Yandex.

Likewise, the extension will appear in a special panel in the upper right corner and it will work exactly the same as if you did it through Google Chrome. That is, after entering the master password in all your services, all your previously saved accounts are activated.

Unfortunately, you cannot install add-ons from Mozilla Firefox in exactly the same way, since this browser requires mandatory installation only in it.

    Shortcuts for extensions

For some third-party addons installed externally, it is possible to activate using keyboard shortcuts. Of course, I doubt that this will be of much use to anyone, but this knowledge will clearly not be superfluous.

When you enter “Menu” - “Add-ons”, scroll to the very bottom and click on the button "Extension shortcuts".

Only a few addons will be available to you and only some are in the block "From Other Sources". But nevertheless, by clicking on any of the fields, you can select a key combination to activate. Just keep in mind that you must hold down the key CTRL or ALT, and then something else, since without them this function will not work.

That's all. Now you can activate and disable extensions at any time using hotkeys. But I repeat once again that this function is not particularly useful.

How to remove an extension from Yandex browser

In order to remove any add-on, you have two options:

    • Temporarily turn them off so that you can start them again at any time.
    • Remove them permanently. And if you need them again, you can simply install them in the browser again.

To temporarily disable addons, simply enter the add-ons menu, as we did before, and opposite the unnecessary ones, simply switch the slider to the “Off” position.

And if you really want to permanently remove extensions from the Yandex browser, then here you can also do it in two ways:

Which of these methods to use is up to you.

The best extensions for Yandex browser

LastPass is an excellent and reliable password manager for browsers. I use it in Google Chrome, and also installed it on Yandex. You can read more about it.

Savefrom.ne t is the coolest extension. which allows you to download, social networks and other video players, such as Vimeo. Despite the huge number of similar plugins, this one is the coolest, most reliable, trouble-free and works in all popular browsers.

AliTools- if you like to buy goods from AliExpress, then this extension is the first one you need to install. Thanks to it, you can track discounts, see the real rating of the seller, the dynamics of decrease or increase, prices in the mobile application, compliance of the product with the description, the percentage of dissatisfied people and much more. Thanks to him, you can save a lot of money.

Frigate- This is just an awesome extension, thanks to which you can easily use, for example, torrent trackers (rutracker.org, kinozal) or the Telegram messenger. You can also watch films in online cinemas, which are also blocked for Russia. You need to install it through the Google store.

VKOpt— An excellent multifunctional extension that allows you to make some additional settings that are simply not available. For example:

    • Enabling the dislike function. Now you can put dislikes, although only those who have the same extension installed will see them.
    • Change background
    • Downloading audio and video from VK.
    • Display of age and zodiac sign
    • Replacement Logo
    • Show current online

Previously, there were more interesting functions, for example, deleting all groups at once, but unfortunately this point was discontinued. I hope it will be fixed yet. Installed through the Google store.

Google translator— Fast and convenient translator. Now you don’t need to constantly go to the translator when you can do everything without leaving the current site. Just click on the extension, enter the word and get the translations available by popularity.

WOT— if you are afraid that this or that site will be dangerous, spammy or malicious, then I recommend installing this addon. Now most sites will be highlighted in search results with a red, yellow or green circle. If there is a green circle, then everything is fine.

Of course, these are not all useful plugins, but I think that this is quite enough for you as a starting point.

As you can see, installing extensions in the Yandex browser is not at all difficult, so install it and don’t worry about anything. Just don’t install a lot of useless “husk” that you won’t use. Still, each extension “eats” the resources of your computer or laptop, which can easily slow down the system.

Well, this is where I end my article. I hope you liked it. Don't forget to subscribe to my blog through notifications and social networks to always be aware of everything new and interesting. I'm waiting for you again. Bye bye!

    Best regards, Dmitry Kostin.

It can be said that Yandex browser- brother and practically twin of the browser Google Chrome. Therefore, you can install extensions in the Yandex browser in exactly the same ways as in Chrome. In addition, because Both of them are made on the basis of another browser called Chromium, then all extensions for Google Chrome install perfectly in the Yandex browser!

Thus, despite the fact that the Yandex browser appeared relatively recently, there are already a LOT of extensions that can be installed for it! And given the fact that there are more and more extensions for Google Chrome every day, we can be sure that we can always find something new, interesting and useful for ourselves.

    1. Through the Google Chrome extension store

This is the easiest option for installing extensions. To use this method, you must be logged in to your Google account. If you didn’t have your own account there before, you will need to create one. To do this, it will be enough to create yourself a mailbox on Google.

We go to the extension store and select the extension we need. For this we can use extension search bar, which is located at the top left or go to the most suitable extensions section, look at the proposed extensions and choose among all the ones that suit us best.

By clicking on the thumbnail of a particular extension, you can familiarize yourself with it detailed description, ratings, comments, see screenshots of the extension in action. Those. The ability to analyze the usefulness of extensions is very conveniently implemented.

To install the extension in Yandex browser, you need to click on the blue “+ FREE” button. After this, the compatibility of your browser with the selected extension is checked, and then it is installed.

After installing the extension in the Yandex browser, an icon (icon) of the installed extension will most likely appear on the panel next to the address bar on the left. To use the installed extension in the future, you will need to click on the desired icon.

If the extension icon does not appear on the Yandex browser panel, that doesn't mean it doesn't work. It could be written in the form of additional items in the browser’s context menu or may affect the operation of the browser, but we do not see any buttons. Just in case, you can check the status of the installed extension (enabled or disabled). To do this you need to go to Yandex browser settings(gear in the upper right corner next to the button to minimize the window), select “ Tools", Further " Extensions" A list of all installed extensions will open. Make sure that the one you need has a checkmark “ Included»

Congratulations, we have just learned how to install extensions in Yandex browser through the Google Chrome store!

    2. From third party sites

Watch a video on installing third-party extensions in crx format

    1. On the developer's website you need download extension crx file, saving it, for example, to the Desktop.
    2. Next you need open the settings of installed Yandex browser extensions(it’s written just above how to get there).
    3. Next we need drag the saved file to the open extension settings page. To make it easier to drag and drop from the desktop, minimize the Yandex browser a little so that it does not occupy the entire screen. When asked whether you really want to install the extension in the Yandex browser, answer positively.

Hello, dear readers of the Start-Luck blog. What program on your computer do you use most often? For many, it's the browser. That’s why they work on them more carefully than others, making them more beautiful, more convenient, and safer. Not long ago I talked about or, if you prefer.

In this guide I will show you how to make it even more convenient. We will talk about how to install an extension on Yandex Browser on Android and the PC version of the program. You will learn where to look for suitable plugins, install add-ons, and also pay a little attention to the most useful of them.

    Let's start?

    Search

Now we need to use the Add-ons tab to work on extensions.

Some applications are divided into sections - tools (useful plugins created to speed up the Internet or work are stored here), Yandex Services (weather and disk, music and radio, mail, and so on), management, configuration, purchases.

Go to All Addons to see the full list.

The list contains the plugins that you already use. It won’t be a problem to switch the slider to “On” so that the program that specialists from Yandex offer you will work.

For example, it wouldn’t be superfluous, I talked about a more convenient application, Roboform , which, among other things, helps to come up with logins.

Read about it in more detail or use LastPass, which Yandex offers you.

Created to block ads, it will be very useful. There is also a review of the application on my blog.

Now I’ll click on the “Extension Catalog” button, it’s at the very bottom of the list. More than 1.5 thousand useful programs are collected here.

You can use the filter if you are looking for a specific category, for example, developer tools, if you are a webmaster, music for music lovers, shopping, if you often visit online stores, and so on.

Please note that next to each add-on there is a small description. If you are interested in something specific, click on the program to find out a little more.

Here, for example, is a utility for changing the design of VK.

    Installation

Installing the plugin you like is no more difficult than searching for it. Next to the title there is an "Add" button. Click on it and wait for the process to complete.

Once everything is finished, an additional window will appear in which you will be asked to connect the plugin to the browser.

In this case, after the installation was completed, I was taken to a page describing how to use the program. Very comfortably. However, it should be noted that this does not always happen.

The instructions indicated to me that now an additional button will appear in the drop-down menu that we activate with the right mouse button. They didn't lie. She really is.

    Enable, disable, delete

You can still enable, disable, and delete extensions by going to the “Add-ons” category from the main page, and then finding the required plugin in the list of installed ones. Hover your mouse cursor and in addition to disabling it, you have the opportunity to get rid of the unwanted utility.

    Search for a specific plugin

If you read about an extension in some article and now really want to install it, then you can use the catalog search. It is located at the top of the window.

    Telephone

One of the most difficult moments is working with the phone. How to enable the plugin on Android? To do this, you need to call up an additional menu. This can be done using a button located on the smartphone itself. Go to “Settings”. If you can't do this, use the direct link to the add-ons browser://tune .

    Now select “Add-on Catalog”.

That's all, a mobile version of a familiar page has appeared before your eyes.

By the way, this page reminded me of another useful article that may be useful to you. . I highly recommend paying attention to them.

And here is the extension directory itself. It is no different from what we saw in the PC version, so I see no point in describing the methods of working with it again.

That's all for me, don't forget to subscribe to the newsletter and group Start-Luck VKontakte . See you again and good luck in your endeavors. Bye everyone.
