Before you calibrate the sensor on Android, you must be sure of the accuracy of your actions. First, you have to check your smartphone for touch errors. Using apps

If your smartphone does not have the ability to configure screen calibration, you can use a special application. In this case, it will be identical as in the standard version, and you will need to do the same as in a smartphone with this built-in feature. To search for such applications, go to Google Play through the application, and enter “Screen calibration” in the search, and then select the one you need. Unfortunately, we cannot advise you on specific programs, since they will display differently on different devices. BUT, I personally recommend the applications I used!

An Android device can be configured in a variety of ways, and in particular, many utilities have been created to help with such a simple task. “MachScreen Calibration” is probably the most popular program in this case. Also, “Touchscreen Calibration” is an equally popular and simple option for sensor calibration.

If the touch screen of your Samsung phone, like any other, is overly or insufficiently sensitive, works uncontrollably and does not respond in a timely manner, then you can try several solutions, one of which is calibration.

If your device's display is protected by film, make sure that you have installed it correctly (there are no air bubbles underneath, dust or moisture).

Wipe the touch screen with a clean, dry cloth, and before using the touch screen, make sure your fingers and hands are clean and dry.

You won't be able to do a reboot or shutdown if the display is no longer responding or there are problems restarting.

Sensor calibration on Android

It’s another matter when you click on one letter several times and only after that it appears on the screen or does not appear at all, or a completely different letter appears instead - all this may indicate that the sensor clearly has problems. However, we should not forget that the problem may be hidden not in the touchscreen, but, for example, in the film glued to the screen. In some cases, these may be traces left by something sticky. Wipe the screen with a napkin and see how the sensor works. If so, then it needs to be calibrated.

How to calibrate a sensor without third-party software?

There are two ways to calibrate the sensor - using internal Android software and using third-party software (applications). In the first case, the built-in software in your operating system is used. But be careful, not all firmwares have a third-party calibration tool!

And now - simple instructions.

Go to your device settings.

Find the Phone Settings or Tablet Settings section.

Here find the “Calibration” item. It may be located in another section, for example, in the “Screen” section.

Click on the "Calibration" item.

Perform the necessary manipulations. This could be, for example, pressing certain buttons on the screen or simply tapping the screen.

In our case, there is no built-in software for calibrating the screen, so we are forced to use an application from the Google Play Market. If this is your case, then read the instructions below.

How to calibrate a sensor using third-party software?

We go to Google Play Market and write display calibration in the search.

Select the application and click “Install”.

The application is installed. Let's launch it. The good thing about this particular application is that you practically don’t have to do anything - just click on the big blue Calibrate button in the center of the screen.

The calibration process has begun. Do not touch anything or turn off the device!

After about 30 seconds (numbers may vary), you will see that the calibration is complete, as indicated by the date of the last calibration.

Check the functionality of the touchscreen.

What to do if calibration did not help?

Try other apps from the Market. If they don’t help, you can try to restore the device to its original form. You can also try to reflash the device. If this does not help, most likely the touchscreen has died and requires replacement. Contact the service center.

Over time, your device's touchscreen may begin to respond incorrectly to finger or stylus touches. This problem is especially relevant for smartphones and tablets equipped with a resistive screen - it twitches and glitches quite often. To troubleshoot problems, you need to calibrate the screen on Android. This procedure can be performed regularly to prevent problems with screen response. It is also carried out after replacing the touchscreen.

There are not many methods for software calibration of a touch screen, so we will analyze each of them. In the future, you can choose the fastest and most convenient one.

Using the tool built into the system.

On most Android devices, the screen calibration function is built into the standard list of settings.

To use this function and customize the screen with it, you need to:

Go to “Settings” (the icon can be found in the menu or in the right corner of the screen after swiping the curtain).

Open the “Screen” or “Display” section (the names will differ depending on the smartphone manufacturer). Here you can immediately adjust the brightness and saturation of the display, the warmth of colors, etc.

Open the “Screen calibration” section. If this tab is missing, then immediately proceed to the second method.

If the function is present, then run it. A test will open, which consists of sequentially clicking on certain areas. However, the test can be anything.

Engineering menu

Screen calibration on Android can be done through the engineering menu. This is a special environment in which you can test all device components and configure parameters that are not available in standard mode.

To use the engineering menu, you need to know the code to open it. The combinations will differ for different devices. Here are examples for the most common brands:

So, to calibrate the screen and its sensitivity (increase or decrease depending on the degree of deviation) through the engineering menu, you need to:

Open the application through which calls are made.

Use the keyboard to type the combination of characters that is suitable for your device (we will look at the example of a Xiaomi smartphone on Android 1.2).

Go to the “Single Item Test”, “Hardware Test” or other similar tab intended for testing.

Select the item responsible for the touchpad, sensor, or the calibration itself. In our case, we need to go to “Touchpal”.

Start the calibration process and perform the actions required by the system. In our case, we had to swipe our finger several times from a given point to the opposite end of the screen without touching the red borders.

On some devices you won’t have to do any additional actions - just go to the sensor calibration section, click on “Clear calibration”, and then on “Do calibration”. All actions will be performed automatically.

For the changes to take effect, you need to restart the device.

Third Party Applications

Perhaps the manufacturer has not built into your device the function of calibrating the Android screen, and you are afraid to go into the engineering menu. In such a situation, you can use one of the applications designed specifically for screen calibration.

Such applications work on any device, regardless of screen type, model or brand. Let's look at the best of them.

A fairly convenient tool, the key disadvantage of which is the English-language interface - there is no version in Russian. We will describe the sequence of actions in detail, so you will not have any problems.

To correctly install the Touchscreen Calibration program on your smartphone and fix problems with the touchscreen, follow these steps (other applications will be installed in the same way, so the instructions can be considered universal):

Open Google Play - the official application store for Android. You won’t be able to download programs without registration - you need to create your own account. If this has not been done previously, the system will automatically prompt you to register an account according to the instructions.

Tap on the search bar and write the request “touchscreen calibration”. Let's move on to the first result.

Click on the “Install” button. The application can be downloaded absolutely free.

To calibrate the screen if the image jumps and the sensor does not listen, you need to:

Enable the application from the desktop. On pure Android, the icon is in the menu.

Click on the “Calibrate” button to start the procedure.

Click once in the area on the point indicated on the screen. Wait until the program displays the pressing accuracy as a percentage and switches to the next step.

Double-tap the dot.

Press the point and hold for 2 seconds.

Place your finger where the dot is and, without letting go, swipe to the right.

Move two fingers over the area to the selected point in the direction of the arrows (make a “pinch”, which is usually used to reduce the image).

Place two fingers in the center and spread them apart (this is how you usually enlarge the picture and get closer to its individual elements).

As a result, the program will display a notification that the calibration has been successfully completed and you need to reboot the device. All that remains is to check whether the sensor is “slowing down” and whether the problem is fixed.

Using Touchscreen Calibration, you can perform fairly high-quality sensor calibration in 6 steps.

Another extremely convenient tool that uses a slightly different calibration method. Use this utility if working with the previous one did not give the desired result.

After downloading the application from Google Play to your phone, perform the following set of actions:

Open the application - its icon will be added to the desktop automatically.
