Installing minecraft forge. Installing Forge and mods

I think that a fairly large number of players who recently bought Minecraft have somehow become disillusioned with it and therefore, they give it a second chance by installing mods that change the graphics, add some creatures and others. However, even here they will fail, since most will not be able to install Forge. This is what today's article is dedicated to.

So, I will provide two ways to install Forge: Self-guided - for those who are not too lazy, and semi-automatic (click and wait) - for lazy people.
What. Let's start with the easiest way - semi-automatic!
To do this, we don’t need to do anything difficult, just download a wonderful launcher from a Russian developer. This miracle doesn’t have many charms, but they will provide you with a comfortable game. Characteristic features of this launcher:

  • Availability of absolutely all existing versions of Minecraft game clients
  • Support for licensed versions of the game
  • Works well with the pirate skin system (instructions for use are included in it)
  • Fast work
  • Pleasant secrets (tricks) that can amuse you :)
  • So, sir, downloaded and opened. The following window opens:

First of all, we need to set up an account. To do this, you need to click on the “set up accounts...” button (I have my nickname written instead of this button because I have already set it up).
Having opened the appropriate window, we configure everything to your taste: If there is a license, you can use it, but if not, then play like this - the functionality for setting up accounts is quite large.

Having created and selected an account, we return to the main page and activate the second pull-out list, where we select the required version of the client. Here there is, for example, 1.6.4 - simple, with Forge, with Optifine and Forge. The kernel for mods is usually the latest version.

All. Having chosen what you need, you can customize everything for yourself - the RAM available to the game, the directory into which game clients will be loaded, etc. Next, when we have done all this, go to the game directory, and then to the mods folder (By default, this is C:\Users\Your_User\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\mods). Here we send what we need and everything is ready!

Now we'll talk about something more painful - manual way.
First, we need to download the version you need. It can be done . After that, of course, we need to get Forge. I have compiled a set of kernels for more or less current versions of the game. You can download .
To install Forge, just run one of the jar files for the desired version and specify the path to the client\server. Then, the installation process will begin.

If you have a license, then open the launcher and select a new profile. I got "Forge 1.8".
Next, we do the same as in the first method - go to the root folder and then to mods, send the necessary mods and enjoy. Please read the article carefully to avoid questions. However, if they arise - write, I will try to help you. You can download mods on our website. I publish them very often. You can see everything that I published by following the link below!

Minecraft Forge or minecraft forge is a small but very important addition, without it many mods will not work.

In fact, this is a universal tool for adding mods to the game, you paste the mods into a folder, and minecraft forge pushes them straight into the game.

Forge can also track problems with mods; if you deleted a mod and blocks from it remain on the map, Forge will notice this and replace them with standard game ones.

In this news you can download forge for most versions of Minecraft, including current ones - 1.12, 1.11.2,1.11, 1.10.2,1.10,1.9,1.8.9, 1.8.8, 1.8, 1.7.10, 1.7.2 and others.

You don’t need to install forge specifically, but if the mod you choose requires it (95% of all mods require minecraft forge), then this will be indicated; without this add-on, the mods simply won’t work, minecraft will crash, or the mod simply won’t be in the game.

Many Minecraft players who install many mods on the game are faced with the problem of incompatibility of these modifications, which sometimes leads to the need to reinstall the game or lose saves. In addition, many mods have settings that can be changed in configuration files, which is inconvenient to do.

To avoid these problems, you can use several tools through which mods are loaded and launched. At the same time, they solve the problem of compatibility and customization. This not only makes the mods work, but also allows you to enable and disable them with one click.

One of the most popular tools is the Minecraft Forge API, you can download it. Moreover, many modern mods work exclusively through it. Below we will tell you how to install the Minecraft Forge API, and how to install and configure mods using it. Go!

How to download and install Minecraft Forge API

To get started, follow the link above, download the installer and install the client on your computer. To do this, run the downloaded installer and simply click the “Ok” button to install the client, the installation program will automatically determine where Minecraft is located:

If you need to install the API on the server or simply unpack the archive, then select the second or third option accordingly. As you can see, screenshots of the process are shown using Windows 10 as an example, but in other operating systems everything is completely similar, only the interface looks a little different.

After the Forge installation is complete, launch the Minecraft launcher and in the lower left corner of the screen, in the “Profile” drop-down list, you will see a new profile called “forge”.

If for some reason you do not have such a profile there, then create it by clicking the “New Profile” button to create a new profile. A window will open where you need to enter the name of the profile you are creating in the “Profile Name” column, and in the “Use version” field at the end of the drop-down list, select the release as in the picture below (the name may differ slightly depending on your version of Minecraft and Forge).

So, the Forge profile has been created. Select it in the “Profile” drop-down list and launch the game. If you have completed all the steps above correctly, you will see the corresponding inscription in the lower left corner of the game window, and a new “Modifications” button will appear in the main menu:

That's it, Minecraft Forge is installed and working. If you click the “Modifications” button, the mod management window will open:

Now let's move on to the next part of the material on how to use Forge.

How to install a mod from Minecraft Forge

In order for the Forge API to see the mod, it must be placed in the folder with mods for Minecraft. This folder is located in the user account directory and is indicated on the profile editing page in the “Game Directory” field:

The paths differ on different operating systems:

    • Windows: %AppData%\.minecraft\mods
    • OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods
    • Linux: ~/.minecraft/mods

If you do not see the desired folder in the directory with your user name, then enable the ability to show hidden files and folders in your operating system. On Windows, the easiest way to get to the folder is by entering the command %appdata% in the address bar of Explorer:

Open this directory and find a folder named mods. If there is no such folder, create it.

It is in the mods folder that you need to copy all the modifications that you want to install on Minecraft. To install a mod via the Forge API, download any desired modification to the mods folder, open the game and click the “Modifications” button in the main menu.

To demonstrate how the Forge API works, let's try to install it, which is not supported by the version of Minecraft I have installed. Let's download it and copy it to the mods folder, after which we launch the game and see a message stating that an incompatibility problem has been identified between Cube World and the current version of Minecraft:

You can leave this window only by closing it. As you can see, Forge saved me from potential problems that could have happened if I had run an incompatible mod myself. And this, as I said above, could lead to loss of saves or reinstallation of the game.

Now let's choose a mod about aggressive zombies for testing. Download and copy it to the mods folder, and then launch the game and go to the “Modifications” menu:

As you can see, the CrackedZombie mod was successfully recognized and installed. If you look closely at the inscriptions, you will see the version of the mod, its author and other information about it. Clicking the “Disable” button in the lower left corner will disable the mod, and the “Config” button hides its configuration menu:

Now imagine how inconvenient it is to change these settings by manually crawling through the modification configuration file... Forge solves it!

We launch the game and see that the CrackedZombie modification has been successfully installed, and merciless zombies are chasing peacefully grazing animals and villagers.

That's all. In this article, we looked at how to install the Minecraft Forge API, and how to install a mod on Minecraft using it. If you have questions, ask them in the comments, we will try to answer.

To install mods on Minecraft, you will need a special tool called Forge. It allows you to install any modification into the game in just a couple of steps. First, you need to install the desired version, for example, on this page you can download Forge for Minecraft 1.7.10. After installing it, you can copy any mod to the mods folder in the Minecraft game directory. After this, you just need to launch the game - it will perform all the necessary actions with the game client, all you have to do is enjoy the game. Minecraft Forge 1.7.20 will be very useful for anyone who has ever encountered difficulties installing mods or has never installed them before, but really wants to try.

How to install Forge on Minecraft 1.7.10

The easiest way is to use the installer. Launch it using java and select the installation path. For manual installation, you need to download Minecraft Forge Jar and open it in WinRAR. Copy all contents to the minecraft.jar file, which is located in the game's bin folder (.minecraft/bin). And of course, don’t forget to delete the META-INF folder from this file.
