List of miui applications to remove. How to remove apps from MIUI

If you've ever found your phone's memory full of unused apps, don't worry: we've got something to help clean up your phone!

Instructions for removing a system application

To remove pre-installed (native) applications on your smartphone, you do not need to have Root rights. To do this, you just need a phone with USB debugging enabled and drivers installed, a USB cable, a special ADB/fastboot Tools program and a computer where we will install it.

You do all actions at your own peril and risk! Migid does not bear any responsibility for your smartphone!

Activating developer mode

To activate developer mode, go to “Settings” - “About phone” - click on “MIUI Version” 8 times in a row. “You have become a developer” will appear at the bottom.

Enabling USB Debugging

Next, go to “Settings” – “Advanced Settings” – “For Developers” and click on “USB Debugging”.

Installing the ADBFastbootTools program

Then you need to install ADBFastbootTools. Afterwards we launch the program and pick up the phone.

Uninstalling applications via ADB/fastboot Tools

After connecting the smartphone, click on “Debloater”. A request to pair with a PC will appear on the phone screen - we give permission. If everything was done correctly, information about the smartphone will appear on the computer in the “Device Info” field.

Now presses the “Debloater” button again. A window with a list of programs will appear.

Click on the applications that need to be removed and click on the “Uninstall!” button.

The selected applications begin to be removed from your smartphone. You can verify this in the “Status” field. Once all applications are deleted, the message “Done!” will appear.

When the program has completed its work, click the “Reboot into System” button. The device will reboot and you will be able to enjoy your smartphone again.

Uninstalling a third-party application

If the application you need is not in the list, click on “Add custom apps”. Enter the package name and click “Done!”

We find the application we need and click on “Uninstall”.

How to find out the application package name?

If to remove an application without root rights, you need to know the package name, then go to “Settings” -> “All applications”. We select the application that we want to delete, in the window that opens, click on the “i” icon (located at the top right). Next, look for “Package name” and enter it into the program.

Additional functions ADB/fastboot Tools

ADB Tools:

Debloater – deleting installed applications;
Enable camera 2 API – a patch for the ability to install Google Camera. Not tested on MIUI 8 and 9. Doesn't work on MIUI 10.
Get device properties – information about the connected device.
Rebooter – reboots the smartphone into the system, Fastboot and EDL modes.

Fastboot Tools:

Image Flasher – flashing images;
Wiper - clearing the cache (Wipe cache) or cache and system partition (Wipe cache and data - completely clearing the smartphone);
OEM Unlocker/Locker – unlocking/locking the bootloader (not tested!).

Miui firmware for Android latest versions. And with the latest update, users started having problems using basic functions. Due to the fact that some basic elements have changed their location.
One of the global problems was the removal of applications from miui 8.0.

There are several basic ways to do this.

Via Play market

If you installed your application through Playmarket, then deleting it should not cause any problems. To do this, launch Playmarket - in the search bar, select the application you want to delete. Next, go to the menu and select “delete”. Next, playmarket will automatically remove the application without unnecessary hassle, and clean out all the garbage behind it

Through special software

The second option will require installing the CCleaner application, which is designed to clean your smart device of unnecessary debris. To do this, install the application via playmarket or via w3bsit3-dns.com - after which we find the required application in the menu - and delete it

By system means

The last method does not require any additional manipulations or installation of third-party software. In the new miui 8.0, deleting applications is located in the same place as in the standard Android OS. Therefore, to delete it, you need to go to the phone menu and select the settings item. Next we find in the “applications” sub-item.
In the drop-down list, we find the application of interest for deletion. We go inside it and select the “delete data” option. After the main data has been deleted, you can click on the “delete” button.

Bottom line

Miui 8.0, although different from its predecessors, the developers still tried to make its interface as intuitive as possible and prevent the creation of such situations. Therefore, deleting applications should not cause difficulties for advanced Android users.
If you need to remove several applications, then to do this you need to repeat the operation for each application manually, or in the Ccleaner program select all the applications you need to remove.

Note:

If the application is a system application, then it cannot be removed using the methods described above. To remove system applets, use superuser rights, which can be obtained without losing the warranty of your smart equipment.

In the second part of the article on the topic of setting up MIUI 7, I propose to deal with standard system applications, the removal of which will not in any way affect the operation of the smartphone

Before you take any action, I strongly recommend making a backup!

Uninstalling MIUI 7 system applications

Let's go along the way system/app and we find ourselves in the folder with the main system applications. This is where we will begin to get rid of those applications that, in my opinion, are not needed in the system.

Below are applications that can be removed without consequences. I note that this list is individual for everyone and depends precisely on whether you use services from xiaomi or not, and also depends on the firmware version and localizations (multirom, xiaomi.eu, miui.su, miui.pro, proprietary solutions). I use services from xiaomi, so the list is quite narrow. I will also try to indicate which applications are present on different firmware versions.

SYSTEM/APP

BugReport– Sending error reports (present on all versions) – For optimization
CloudPrint2– Virtual printer. I don’t need it and I’m unlikely to need it (7.1.2.0 – 7.1.3.0 is missing) – does not affect optimization
Email– Quite a universal mail application from Xiaomi. If you use it, then there is no point in getting rid of it. I don’t need corporate email support, especially since I’m using another application, so I’m deleting it. (on all firmware versions, with the exception of some proprietary ones) - does not affect optimization
Fastdormancy– This function, if I understand correctly, is used by mobile operators in Europe and Asia. You can read about the technology on the Internet. After reading it, I realized that my mobile operator does not support it. It can also drain the battery quite significantly if there is no support from the operator. Definitely “under the knife.” (only observed xiaomi.eu and the latest version from multirom) – for optimization
MiLinkService– a “useful” feature for Xiaomi devices. Allows you to transfer files between Xiaomi devices. Too much for me. Removed it. (Present on all versions, except some copyrighted ones) - does not affect optimization
PrintSpooler– seals. The same thing to consider as with other services from the “virtual printer”. (Present on all versions, except some copyrighted ones) - does not affect optimization
QuickSearchBox– Quick search from Xiaomi, which appears if you swipe up from the bottom of the screen. I tried it and realized that it was a little awkward to use. Alternative to Google Now. Works great, clearly responds to calls. In short, I recommend it. (Present on all versions, except some copyrighted ones) - does not affect optimization
StepsProvider– this service was not available in previous builds. Possibly responsible for the pedometer. I don't understand why they added it. Removed it. (Observed on 7.2.4.0 and 7.2.7.0 from xiaomi.eu) – for optimization
Stk– a service application from a mobile operator. MTS Belarus has few useful features in this application. I just deleted it, but it’s better to freeze it in Titanium, otherwise after a full reset to factory settings problems with network detection may appear. (Present on all versions) – for optimization
Updater– Firmware update via system application. Many people ask “How to disable incoming notifications about the availability of a new software version.” We delete it and forget about it.
Note:
As for DEV firmware, this application cannot be deleted, otherwise the phone will be blocked and ask you to enter your MI account login and password. But after entering it was stuck on verification. I checked it on two DEV versions. In stable versions everything is fine. (Present on all versions, except some copyrighted ones) – for optimization
Whetstone– And again sending logs that are related to processor performance. Very often this service wakes up the device. Verified. I'm deleting. (Present on all versions, except some copyrighted ones) – for optimization

SYSTEM/DATA-APP

klobugreport. Let's delete it. Responsible for sending error logs. (Present on all versions, except some copyrighted ones) – for optimization

SYSTEM/PRIV-APP

Browser– Standard browser from Xiaomi. At first I kept deleting it because of the Chinese language. But then I ran into patched version from 7.1.2.0 Multirom from Viset is in my folder. I was pleasantly surprised. The browser is completely Russian, the news contains most of the news portals of my country and neighboring countries. Cool. I set it up and realized that the browser is very fast. Flash support. I just replaced the version from xiaomi.eu with the version from firmware 7.1.2.0 from Viset (installed without problems). And of course permissions to folder "0755" and on the apk file itself "0644". (Present on all versions, except some copyrighted ones) – does not affect optimization
CellBroadcastReceiver– Broadcast messages (tsunamis, disasters, etc.), which are common there in Europe and Asia. I don't practice. Deleted. (Present on all versions, except some copyrighted ones) – for optimization
GoogleFeedback– Google reviews. Deleted. (Present on all versions, except some copyrighted ones) – for optimization
Shell– Part of the MIUI shell, which stores summaries and logs of the shell’s operation, which are subsequently sent somewhere. I removed it, tested it, no problems found. (in the comments they report that after removal, developer mode does not work for them). Great. In addition, I will say that deleting this service helps get rid of Shell process, which hangs in memory and sometimes loads the processor quite heavily.

(Present on all versions, except some copyrighted ones) – for optimization
YellowPage- Yellow Pages. Allows you to see more detailed information about corporate clients, their numbers and accounts. Deleted. (Present on all versions, except some copyrighted ones) – for optimization
Weather, WeatherProvider– Weather and weather server. The application is good, differs from various editions (localizations). Let's say Multirom's temperature graph is made in the form of sinusoidal curves. Looks great. However, most often in the forecast, instead of the usual units for measuring wind speed and atmospheric pressure, they are km/h and Pa, respectively. I uninstall and install an alternative Weather BZ. IMHO the best weather app. It looks familiar and fits perfectly into standard weather widgets, as well as custom themes and lock screens. (Present on all versions, except some copyrighted ones) - does not affect optimization

About freezing (disabling) applications via Titanium BackUp: I will say that this method is more secure than simply deleting applications from the system. But when there is a backup copy of applications, then there is no significant difference.

MIUI is a proprietary shell for Android current versions. After installing some updates, some users experienced problems with the operation of standard options, since their location in the device system had changed. Among the common questions asked by owners is how to remove applications from MIUI 8.0.

There are several basic ways to do this.

  • Via Google Play. If you downloaded the program using a pre-installed service, then uninstalling it should not be a significant problem. To do this, go to the application store and enter the software you need to eliminate into the search. Then select it from the proposed options and click on the “delete” command. Next, Play Market will complete the procedure on its own without leaving any additional files;
  • Using third party software. The next method involves using the CCleaner program, which is necessary to clear the smartphone’s memory of excess garbage. Install it through the application store or another Internet resource, then go to the menu, mark the unnecessary software and remove it;
  • Built-in functions. The latter method does not involve the use of any advanced actions or downloaded programs. In the MIUI 8 version, the program removal item is located in the same place as in the usual design of the Android operating system. To perform the procedure, go to your phone settings and select the “Applications” section. In the window that opens, you need to find the desired application, and then click on it and click the “delete data” command. When finished, you can also use the “delete” option.

Bottom line

Despite the significant differences between the new version of MIUI and previous modifications, the developer has focused on a logical and understandable interface in order to minimize the number of complications. Therefore, if the user has experience, there should be no problems when uninstalling applications. If the task is to eliminate a number of programs, then you should perform the procedure yourself for each of them, or mark all the necessary options in the Ccleaner service and select the appropriate actions.

The project website notes that if the program is a system one, then it will not be possible to remove it using these methods. To do this, you must have superuser rights, which can be purchased while maintaining the warranty of your smartphone manufacturer.

Hello!

A short article that describes the easiest way to remove pre-installed applications from Google and Xiaomi on your Chinese smartphone.

Tools
- adb driver, the default one from the Android SDK (with corrected device info) can be used, or you can install the native one when installing the MIUI ROM Flashing Tool (http://api.en.miui.com/url/MiFlashTool) (46 MB);
- third party utility XiaomiADB/Fastboot Tools v2.3.1.0(https://github.com/Saki-EU/XiaomiADBFastbootTools-Win32/releases) (I didn’t get the new ones in Java, but you can try).

Cleaning the system
1. Get developer mode on your device (Google), then go to Settings / Advanced settings / For developers and turn on three levers:
- USB debugging,
- Installation via USB,
- USB Debugging (Security Settings).

2. Install the driver, connect the smartphone so that the OS detects the device. Then disconnect the cable.
3. Launch the XiaomiADB program as Administrator, connect the smart phone, press the button Debloater. Next, we watch for a request on the smartphone screen for permission to install/uninstall applications/access to the system.

4. A list of system programs appears, including pre-installed ones. I have marked only those that I do not need.

5. Squeeze Uninstall! and wait in the log window for the word Done! .

Please note: those programs that were previously removed will still be displayed in the list, but they will not be on the device, which the utility will report with the code Failure - not installed for 0. This was probably fixed in new versions of the utility, I haven’t checked.
6. Press the button Reboot into System, wait for the android logo to appear at the bottom of the screen and disconnect the cable.

Ready! The smartphone has been cleaned.
