Design and usability
MultiPhone 5550 DUO is available in three color variations: graphite black, golden bronze and dark blue. The coating on the back cover is pleasant to the touch and will not allow the device to slip out of the palm.
The first thing I want to say about the ergonomics of the device is that it’s big! Despite its size, the device fits in a medium-sized palm, and I did not feel any discomfort when using it. The corners are rounded, the back cover is covered with a Soft-touch coating - everything is done to make the device convenient and pleasant to use.
The large 5.5-inch screen is framed in voluminous black frames and housed in a plastic case. The design of the device has notes of the Nexus 5 and Galaxy Note 4 - the shape of the case, the materials, the placement of elements on the case. Go ahead.
The only disadvantage of gadgets with such dimensions is that they don’t fit into jeans pockets. There are, of course, people who are trying to fit a tablet in their pocket, but when I see such a picture, I immediately think of Toyota Tundra owners parking in the city center.
All inputs, outputs and control modules are in the right places. In several recent Prestigio smartphones, the lock and volume keys were on the left side, this was inconvenient, and we have already written about this. But perhaps our words were heard - these buttons are now on the right side, where they belong. Thank you!
The remaining ports are classic - microUSB, a microphone and a slot for removing the back cover from the bottom, an audio jack from the top. Camera, flash, speaker and brand logo on the back.
On the front, above the screen, there is a speaker and a front camera; below, the standard Android trio: “Menu”, “Context menu”, “Back”. All that remains is to convert the touch control keys to “on-screen” ones, as in most recent Android devices.
Under the back cover there is a 3000 mAh battery, slots for SIM cards and microSD cards.
The assembly of the device is at a high level, however, as always from this manufacturer. There are no problems with soiling. There may be fingerprints on the screen, but they can be easily removed with a rag, and the back cover is generally clean.

The pixels are almost invisible, but the menu icons are huge. Pixel density - 267ppi. There are no questions about color reproduction, it’s a regular and natural IPS screen. When tilted, the screen turns a little yellow - we don’t consider it a serious flaw.
In the sun the screen is readable, there is more than enough brightness reserve. There is almost no air gap between the glass and the display - this is a plus. When locked, the device looks very stylish and strict. This case is covered with tempered glass Gorilla Glass 3, it will protect it if it falls, and the keys will not be scratched.

The heart of the MultiPhone 5550 DUO is a 4-core MediaTek MTK6582 processor with a clock frequency of 1.3 GHz. The Mali-400MP processor is responsible for video processing. Prestigio MultiPhone 5550 DUO is delivered in a compact package, stylized as carbon fiber. The main technical characteristics are described on the reverse side.

Appearance
The phablet is available in several body colors: gold, black and dark blue. The back cover has a textured pattern, it looks like a dark stone, quite impressive.
The case dimensions are 156 x 78.1 x 9.2 mm and weighs 180 grams. The smartphone fits well in the hand, the weight is well balanced across the body.
The front part, despite its modest cost, is completely covered with Gorilla Glass 3. On the bottom frame there are three touch buttons with white backlight, on the top there is a speaker grille, proximity and light sensors, and a front camera peephole.
There is a small protruding bolster along the side that raises the screen when placed on a flat surface.
On the top edge there is an audio jack, on the bottom there is a microUSB and a microphone hole.
The back cover with soft touch ensures that the Prestigio MultiPhone 5550 DUO does not slip out of your hands. A chrome logo is located in the center. Here is the speaker grille, the main camera peephole with LED flash.
Both mechanical buttons are located on the right side. The buttons only protrude slightly from the surface of the case.
The case is collapsible, under the cover there is a removable battery, two SIM connectors and a slot for a memory card.
The assembly is excellent, no creaks or play of parts were noticed, there are no complaints about the quality of materials.
Screen
A 5.5-inch IPS screen with HD resolution is installed. There is no pixelation observed during normal use. Maximum viewing angles and high brightness.
You can find fault with the contrast of the image and the shift in color balance to cool tones. The brightness level is enough to work with a smartphone in direct sunlight.
Filling
It uses a 4-core MediaTek MTK6582 processor with a frequency of 1.3 GHz, under the Cortex A7 core cover. The Mali-400MP2 is responsible for the graphics. The platform is not the latest; we already got acquainted with it at the beginning of 2014. On board there is 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory.
It is possible to expand the memory using a microSD memory card. The interface works smoothly, there are no problems launching the software. Restrictions apply to complex games.
