System services search for cellular networks. Disabling Push in Mail

Turn off Bluetooth

If you don't wear apple watch Watch, for normal operation which Bluetooth is needed, disable the wireless protocol first. This is one of the most power-hungry features of iOS.

You can disconnect from Bluetooth devices directly through the control center, which opens by swiping your finger across the screen from bottom to top. But you can completely deactivate the sensor only through the system settings.

Disable LTE

When your cellular provider only gives you 1 or 2 GB of data per month, turning off 4G service can help save it - not to mention battery life. But even if there is a lot of traffic, there are still many in public places there is Wi-Fi.

To disable LTE, go to settings, open " cellular" and there click on the corresponding switch. You can also block 4G for the most power-hungry applications, such as Music or Photos. This is done through the settings of each of them.

Turn off unnecessary notifications

Leave alerts only for the most important applications and functions that always require instant checking. Disable the rest to save battery. This can be done through the “Notifications” section in iOS settings.

Disable automatic setup brightness and turn on "Grayscale"

Reducing screen brightness is one of the the best ways save battery power. To prevent your iPhone from constantly changing the brightness you have chosen, turn off auto-adjustment. To do this, go to system settings in “Basic” → “ Universal access» → “Display adaptation” → “Auto brightness”.

In the same section, through the “Filters” item, you can turn on “Shades of Gray” so that the screen becomes black and white. This way your eyes will tire less, and your phone will begin to consume less energy.

Set brightness to 10–25%

Using the control center, set the desired brightness. For most cases, 10–25% is sufficient. If necessary, for example in the sun, it can be quickly adjusted.

Turn on Reduce Motion

In Accessibility, turn on the Reduce Motion switch. This feature simplifies the animation you see when you press the home button and also removes the parallax effect that causes wallpapers, apps, and alerts to move slightly.

When you turn on Reduce Motion, a toggle for Message Effects (Auto) will appear. Turn it off too. Pop-up and full-screen effects will now need to be played manually, but the phone will last longer.

Disable 3D Touch

In the same “Universal Access” you will find the 3D Touch function. It can be useful, but vibration from it uses up battery power every time. After disabling it, to use some iPhone capabilities you will have to hold your finger on the screen, and some features like folder previews will disappear.

Disable all vibration effects

In the "Universal Access" item there is a button to turn off all vibration effects - even for calls. Or you can turn off vibration in silent mode. To do this, return to main screen system settings, open “Sounds, haptics” and deactivate vibration in silent mode. Vibration will now only be turned off when you press the Ring/Silent switch on the side of the device.

You can also disable the “Shake to Undo” feature. You will find it in the “Universal Access” section. As you might guess, you can use it to cancel last action, for example entering a character. But in practice, it is much more convenient and faster to correct errors manually. But vibration will not consume charge.

Disable "Content Update" for unnecessary applications

Through “General” → “Content Update” you can specify which programs’ content should be updated, even when they are minimized. Leave the function enabled only for applications that take a long time to sync (Dropbox, Evernote) or are useful for traveling (Google Maps).

Set auto-lock to one minute

The longer your phone screen stays lit, the more battery is wasted. Open "Display & Brightness" in iOS settings and set auto-lock to one minute.

Disable Raise to Activate

When the device screen is not active, energy is saved. There is no need to spend it every time you take out your smartphone. Just below Auto-Lock, turn off the Raise to Activate feature. Now the display will light up only when you press the home button or side unlock button.

Disable Siri

Disable "Power Saving Mode"

As surprising as it may sound, the battery may drain faster in this mode. iPhone automatically sends an alert when the battery charge drops below 20% and prompts you to turn the feature on. You may notice that often with a positive answer, the battery charge quickly decreases - sometimes to such an extent that the smartphone turns off.

Disable “Power Saving Mode” via “Settings” → “Battery”. A worthy alternative- airplane mode. By the way, while you haven’t left this menu yet, you can at the same time activate “Charge in percentage” so that you always know exactly how long the battery will last.

Disable Location Services for unnecessary apps

By default, many programs track your location, but most don't need it to function properly. Through iOS settings Open "Privacy" → "Location Services". For applications like App Store, Dropbox and Evernote, select Never, and for those that require GPS, select Using.

Stop sending analytics data to Apple

When this feature is enabled, iPhone automatically creates analytics files daily. This also affects the battery charge. Go to Settings → Privacy, scroll down the screen and tap Analysis. Then remove both switches.

Disable "Automatic Downloads"

In Settings, open your Apple ID and find the " iTunes Store and App Store." In it, remove all automatic downloads. After this, the smartphone will stop downloading purchases that you made on other Apple devices.

Enable data downloads for Mail and Calendar over Wi-Fi only

Open “Accounts and Passwords” in the settings and in the “Data download” section, disable Push. Activate "Sampling" for all applications and select "Automatic". iPhone will now download new data for Mail and Calendar in the background only when connected to Wi-Fi and power.

Enable "Low Quality Mode" in Messages

At the very bottom of the Messages settings there is an option for “Low Quality Mode”. If you activate it, the standard messenger will send compressed pictures. This way you will save time and battery power.

Disable Game Center

Game Center is not only annoying with its notifications, but also wastes battery power if you log into the service. If you are not an avid gamer, then deactivate the function at the bottom of the iOS settings.

Only your iPhone's battery will notice their absence.

The iPhone has many useful and not so useful functions. About the latest users Apple smartphones most often they don’t even remember, simply because it doesn’t make much sense. However, almost all such functions consume iPhone resources, including battery charge. This manual talks about six things that are useless for most users. iPhone functions, which need to be turned off to increase the operating time of the smartphone.

Important! We are not saying that all the features listed below are completely useless. They are such for many users, but not for all. Therefore, before disabling a function, think about whether you will need it in the near future.

1.Handoff

Do you only have one iPhone and no other Apple devices? Then feel free to turn off the Handoff function in the “ Settings» → « Basic» → Handoff. This option allows owners of several Apple gadgets to continue work started on one device on another device. You can also disable the function if you simply do not use this feature. Disabling Handoff will prevent the iPhone from scanning the area around it to find available collaboration devices.

2. AirDrop

iPhone has a feature called AirDrop, which allows you to quickly and easily transfer various content to other Apple devices. This feature is really convenient, but only a few users use it, out of habit, transferring photos or files via e-mail or through messengers. AirDrop is enabled by default and, like Handoff, scans for other iPhones, iPads or Macs. This, of course, consumes valuable battery resources. To disable AirDrop, run Command centre, press on the field with Wi-Fi switches, Airplane mode, Cellular and Bluetooth and tap the icon AirDrop. In the menu that opens, select " Reception off».

To extend operating time iPhone phone from the battery, make the following settings:

1. Setting up applications to work in background(the settings do not affect push notifications, which will arrive in any case)

Settings --> General --> Content Update

iOS applications can load information in the background. However, this option consumes battery power no less than other functions; disable the use of services in the background. You can disable the feature completely or limit its use for certain applications. Here you need to carefully look at which applications work in the background you need.

Personally, I need the photos to be saved in OneDrive cloud, and also for the weather forecast to be updated in the background (push notifications for programs with background activity prohibited will arrive as normal).

2. Setting up location

Settings--> Privacy --> Location Services

Geolocation services (using a GPS receiver) iOS uses up battery power. If your main applications are not location-based, you can safely disable location services.For example, if you do not use a navigator or a tracker for cycling, then it is better to disable the location function.Deactivate the function completely or set individual settings for every application.
Scroll down to the line " System Services". Here, turn off the following services: Diagnostics and use, Geolocation iAds, Popular nearby, Time zone, Traffic and Frequently visited places.

3. Setting up sending statistics about system operation

4. Setting up push notifications

Settings-->Notifications

Push notifications are definitely a useful thing. However, this feature is not needed for all applications. Turn off notifications from unnecessary programs (for me this is a camera, TV remotes, wallet, games, navigators, etc.).

It is worth noting that the battery energy is in this case is consumed not so much because of the notifications themselves, but because of the activation of the display by them, so if for some applications you still need to leave notifications turned on, you should limit yourself to “stickers on the icon”, turning off other notification methods. N For example, if you received a message in VK or Avito, you will be able to see it immediately after unlocking the phone.

5. Setting up services wireless transmission data

Swipe across the screen from below --> up
Settings
--> Wi-Fi

Setupoyki --> Bluetooth

Disable unused ones this moment wireless data functions that consume battery power.

If you are on a trip, it is advisable to turn off Wi-Fi, since the phone in the background independently tries to connect to available networks, consuming battery power. An easy way to extend your battery life iPhone work and iPad - disable background search for wireless networks.
Much the same thing happens with the Bluetooth function.

AirDrop - The function is convenient for transferring files between Apple devices and is available on all iPhone models starting from iPhone 5. Activate this option only when you need to exchange files with some other device. The rest of the time it is better to keep it off.

6. Configure account synchronization settings

Settings--> Mail --> Accounts
Settings--> Mail --> Accounts

Try to reduce the number of accounts and how often you check for new incoming emails in each of them.You can set up either manual mail retrieval or interval checking. How longer interval, the longer the battery will live.

It is also better to select one account to synchronize calendars and contacts, and disable these functions in the others, or remove them altogether.

For myself, I chose gmail.com, because the service allows you to save photos of contacts, which is not provided in outlook.com accounts.

7. Setting the baud rate for cellular network

Settings--> Cellular --> Data options --> Voice and data
Settings--> Modem mode

High speed cellular connection LTE networks(4G) is only needed to watch movies in high resolution and downloading large files. This mode consumes more battery power than 3G mode.

I set 3G in my settings; the connection speed in this mode is quite sufficient for my needs.
Also remember to turn off tethering mode when you are not using it.

8. Display settings

Settings--> Screen and brightness

Settings --> Screen and brightness--> Auto-lock

Maintaining work Retina display very energy-intensive. Tests have shown that at the maximum brightness level when viewing 720 p iPhone video 5 can withstand 6 hours 21 minutes of operation, and at half brightness - as much as 9 hours 48 minutes! The result is obvious.

Set the minimum comfortable level of display brightness, this will significantly extend your phone's battery life.

Reducing the phone's auto-lock time also has a positive effect on battery saving.

9. Setting up iCloud

Settings-->iCloud

If you want to long work devices without recharging, turn off all unnecessary synchronizations, both standard ones (for example, not everyone needs synchronization of Calendar or Reminders) and third-party applications with iCloud service. Each such synchronization consumes its share of resources.
Synchronization can be enabled directly when you plan to replace your iOS device, so that the new device retains all the settings from the previous one.

10. Built-in communication services

Settings-->Messages
Settings-->FaceTime

Disable built-in services if you do not use them, as they operate in constant standby mode, consuming battery power.

11. Configuring synchronization settings between devices

Settings--> Basic-->Handoff
Settings-->iCloud-->iCloud Drive

The Handoff feature allows for easy transfer of work context between mobile and desktop environments ( for example, when entering a password for Wi-Fi networks on the phone, the tablet with the same account connected to the same WI-Fi network without re-enter password), as well as the ability to receive calls and send SMS from a computer. If you only have one Apple devicewith your account,or you don't use this feature, be sure to disable it.

12. Setting up battery saving

Settings--> Battery

Use the battery saver option.
In iOS, you can clearly see which apps are using up a lot of battery ( You may need to make additional settings in them). Go to Settings and identify the main energy hogs. Often they are games and browsers. If you need to save energy, just don't run them. Remove unused applications, eating up the battery in the background.

After removing the third party mail client I noticed that the phone began to work longer.

13. Updates

Settings --> iTunes Store and App Store

Settings--> Basic --> Software update

Along with the obvious convenience of using the function automatic download content consumes battery power. Under the "Automatic downloads" item, deactivate the Updates item, as well as Music, Applications and Books, if you do not want to synchronize content between your devices.
Apps from the store and off-line cards can easily be updated once a week manual mode, this will further save battery power.

Update your phone software to latest version, often fixed in new versions software errors, leading to fast discharge battery

Example: Recently it turned out that in a number of versions of the eighth firmware, for example 8.1.3, there was a bug due to which the iPhone 5S (and possibly other models) could periodically lose connection with the Wi-Fi network and reconnect to it, including in sleep mode. This served as one of the additional reasons To fast consumption charge.

This problem has been resolved in iOS update 8.2.

14. Setting up phone search mode

Settings--> Update and security --> Find your phone

If you are not going to lose your phone, disable this battery-consuming feature (a password will be required).

15. Configuring Keyboard Input and Date Options

Settings--> Basic --> Keyboard
Settings--> Basic --> Date and time

Turning off predictive dialing will help reduce battery consumption a little if you chat a lot.
Also, if you don’t go anywhere, it’s better to turn it off automatic detection time zone.

16. Customize the theme in applications (for future iPhone models)

If you are the happy owner of a phone with an OLED display, then change color scheme to dark will significantly extend the battery life of your phone if you use it frequently.

17. Motion sensors
Settings--> Basic --> Universal Access--> Reduce motion
Settings--> Basic--> Universal Access--> Shake to cancel

Parallax effect on home screen and the lock screen continuously uses data from motion sensors, which, of course, affects the time battery life iOS devices. Enable Motion Reduction to prevent the processor from wasting its resources on animations.

Do you often shake your phone to undo the last word you typed? If not, disable this feature while gyroscope is active.

18. Secondary functions alerts
Settings--> Basic--> Universal Access--> Vibration
Settings--> Basic--> Universal Access--> Flash alerts

1. Turn off access to your geolocation

Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services

And here we turn off access to geolocation for those programs that you think do not need to know your location, or set when using the program so that the program has access to your GPS only when you launch this program yourself. For example, I think there is no need for the Kinopoisk application to constantly know my location.

And Yandex Market generally knows my location, since I do not look for stores near me through this application.

Also standard application Weather doesn't have to constantly consult my GPS to show me the weather exactly where I am.

I’ll indicate my city once and that’s it.

And even more so, the VKontakte application does not need to constantly know where I am.

2. Disable content updates

Go to Settings > General > Content Update and turn off the Content Update slider so that programs do not automatically update their content in the background.

That is, so that these applications do not automatically download them new version when it comes out in the appstore.

3. Disable equalizer

Go to Settings > Music > Equalizer.

And set it to Off so as not to apply sound filters when listening to music.

4. Disable 3G

Go to Settings > Cellular and disable the Enable 3G option to use only Edge and Wi-Fi Internet.

By turning off 3G, the Internet will become much slower, but the battery life will increase significantly. Since Edge or Wi-Fi consumes much less battery power.

When using cellular networks with more high speeds Data loads faster, but battery life may be reduced.

5. Put static wallpapers instead of moving (animated) ones

Go to Settings > Wallpaper > Select new wallpaper.

Here you can set dynamic wallpaper, or you can select pictures from your camera roll. Static wallpapers do not require energy consumption for display, but animation constantly consumes the resource of the video processor during display and, accordingly, the battery.

6. Disable notifications from unnecessary applications

Go to Settings > Notifications.

Here we disable notifications for those applications from which you do not need to receive Push notifications. For example, I don’t need notifications from the game Angry Birds, YouTube, KinoPoisk, Plants Vs. Zombies, Instagram, Maps, Tips, Podcasts and more.

Keep notifications only from the apps you need. For example messages, phone, mail, reminders. To see notifications about missed SMS, calls, mail, and so on.

By the way, you can choose the type of notification and the sound of this notification.

7. Disable cellular data for software

Settings > Cellular. Here we disable cellular data for those applications that you do not want to use 3G, Edge, LTE Internet.

For example, I don't need to Mobile Internet New data was downloaded for the stock app, maps, podcasts, FaceTime, Game Center, iTunes Store.

8. Disable automatic downloads

Go to Settings > iTunes Store, App Store.

Here we disable automatic downloads for music, programs, updates, so as not to automatically download new purchases (including free ones) made on other devices. That is, if you use one Apple ID on an iPhone and iPad (or use 1 Apple ID with your wife, for example), then downloading something on the iPad (or wife’s iPhone) with auto-downloads disabled, this application will not start downloading to your iPhone.

9. Enable do not disturb mode

Go to Settings > Do Not Disturb.

We turn on the scheduled slider and indicate the time when we sleep, so that the do not disturb mode starts at this time and lasts until a certain specified time.

This way there will be no vibration or sound and the screen will not turn on and show you that a notification has arrived from VKontakte or an SMS or call. Also turn on the repeat calls slider so that the person who calls you a second time appears and there is a ringing sound, because it could be some important call if a person calls you for the second time in a row.

You can also set call tolerance and specify those whose calls or messages will not be muted while do not disturb mode is on and will be shown to you and there will be a sound or vibration from them. So that you can hear when you receive a call or SMS.

Also at the very bottom you can set when incoming calls and notifications will be muted when the iPhone screen is locked.

When do not disturb mode is turned on, a crescent moon will appear on the top of the iPhone screen.

10. Enable motion reduction

Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion.

Turn on the Reduce Motion item to disable the zoom animation when exiting the application and opening it.

This way you will also turn off the parallax effect, that is, there will be no movement background image on the iPhone screen.

11. Enable reduced transparency

Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Increase Contrast.

Here we turn on lower transparency to turn off the window transparency effect. This effect is similar to the Aero effect on Windows and can consume CPU resources to create the transparency effect.

It will also increase contrast on some backgrounds to improve text readability.

12. Disable auto-update time

Go to Settings > General > Date and time.

Here we turn off the slider automatically so that the time does not automatically adjust to the time of the time zone in which we are now. That is, if you flew from one city to another with a different time zone, then the iPhone did not set the time of the city you are in now, but left the old time from the previous time zone. Change the time manually, or turn it on for a couple of minutes so that the iPhone scans the place you are in and sets the time, and then turn it off.

Some simple steps– and now the phone works much longer.

While we look forward to revolution in the world batteries, we have to take care of our smartphone’s appetite on our own. We wrote about how to optimize iPhone battery consumption exactly two years ago – at the time of the release of iOS 7. Updated iOS 9 introduced not only a number of changes in terms of interface and functionality, but also received several additional settings, allowing you to extend the life of the device.

In today's list of instructions for curbing your appetite for iOS 9, you may encounter both familiar items and those that were not available in previous versions of the mobile operating system.

We deliberately omitted a list of effective, but relatively banal methods for extending autonomy, such as:

  • turning on airplane mode;
  • turning off Wi-Fi;
  • disabling 3G;
  • turning off Bluetooth;
  • minimum volume level;
  • minimum screen brightness;

and the like.

1. Identify “problem” applications

Despite the strict censorship of applications in App store Store, some instances are unstable in terms of battery consumption. iOS 9 provides a statistical summary for this purpose, which can be found in the menu: Settings – Battery:

If you are “at the top” in terms of consumption third party application, think about alternative replacement. iOS 9 also included minute-by-minute tracking of the activity of each application. Check out the statistics for the last 7 days. An application that mercilessly devours battery resources does not deserve to be on the screen of your Springboard.

2. Disable background application updates

If you haven’t asked yourself the question of optimizing energy consumption before, welcome to Settings – General – Content updates. Get ready to see an impressive list of applications that update data in the background without your knowledge.

A radical solution is to completely disable Content Updates. A more loyal option is to go through the list of displayed applications and leave only those that you still use when working with them. full screen mode(meaning applications that are not used as widgets in the Notification Center). It is advisable to leave content updates to instant messengers.

3. Charge percentage

There are several views regarding displaying the battery status as a percentage: a number of users believe that the percentage charge only provokes you to turn on the smartphone screen again to make sure that the battery is “more alive than dead,” thereby wasting precious capacity at a critical level charge. Others, on the contrary, prefer a visual demonstration of the charge as a percentage.

You can enable percentage display from the same menu: Settings – Battery and by clicking on the corresponding slider, activate the statistical mode.

4. Disable “unnecessary” notifications

“Your lives have been restored”, “the level of the elixir has reached its maximum”, “Warrior, the army is waiting for you”... Tell me, are these notifications coming from a dozen or two games important to you? I guess not.

Opening Settings - Notifications and prohibit notifications in all that crazy assortment installed applications, leaving the really necessary ones.

5. Disable Push in Mail

Push notifications are necessary to automatically download content that comes to your connected email account without manual update Mail applications. When you are at your workplace and you can check your email using your computer, or you simply don’t expect urgent emails, you can disable Push downloading.

You can find the Push Notifications control item by opening the menu Settings - Mail disable Push and select the most comfortable time for email delivery (the less often, the less battery power is consumed).

6. Disable Handoff

Not all iPhone users are fans of Mac computers, just as not everyone prefers Apple’s proprietary functionality: “a computer and a smartphone are one.” It's about about Handoff, presented by the company a little over a year ago. If forwarding phone calls to your Mac and all the features of Continuity don't interest you, it's time to save your battery.

You can disable Handoff in Settings – Handoff and suggested software. Disable items Handoff And Installed programs.

7. Physical activity

Even if you have a simple fitness tracker on your arm, its functionality is enough to outshine the capabilities of the M8 coprocessor offered today (depending on the smartphone model). If you don’t need to count the number of steps taken and flights of stairs climbed, feel free to turn off tracking.

Open Settings – Privacy – Movement and Fitness. Turn off the item Fitness Tracking.

8. Disable Apple reports

Apple tries to fulfill the requirements stated by the user and promptly respond to emerging bugs, system errors and shortcomings of the “perfect” iOS. This does not always work out, but for more close connection with the user in iOS devices there is an item Diagnostics and use. It is needed to send errors in the operation of the device to Apple servers.

Of course, we all want the company’s products to work smoothly and better, but such notifications, although slightly, still affect the battery life of the device. Let's go to the address: Settings – Privacy – Diagnostics and Usage and feel free to check the box next to the item Do not send.

9. Startup and update applications

There are several iOS devices in your home running under one account. App recordings Store? Both devices will graciously download the app, even if you only downloaded it on your iPhone or iPad (if you have one). required version). On the one hand, it's convenient. On the other hand, a couple of gigabytes of downloads wireless network and the battery of the tablet peacefully resting on the table will show a critical charge.

You can disable cross-platform downloading in the following menu: Settings – App Store– remove the switch next to all items: Music, Programs, Books, Updates, Cellular data. Thus, we also disabled automatic software updates.

10. Minimum auto-lock time

Do not forget to lock the device with the Power key after you have sent a message, completed phone call or posted a photo on Instagram. The screen is the main thief of battery power. iOS 9 has a new minimum value for the minimum auto-lock time and now it is only 30 seconds.

Open Settings – General – Auto-lock and select a value of 30 seconds.

11. iAd ad tracking

Advertising is a clear engine of progress and it is thanks to it that most modern websites are pleasing to the eye. IN iOS environment A number of shareware applications and games provide the display of an advertising strip of annoying advertisements. How does the application know that you are from Moscow? Helps him with this advertising tracking, which also slightly loads the device’s battery due to constant requests every time such a banner changes.

12. Disable geolocation for applications

In second place in terms of battery waste (after the screen) is GPS and everything related to determining the current location of the smartphone. A number of applications you install use GPS either constantly or while you are using them.

Which application is supposed to know your location is up to you. Open menu: and disable applications permission to use GPS work for which you consider it inappropriate.

13. Motion visual effect and dynamic wallpaper

Two years later, nothing has changed. Still, the “parallax” effect and animated wallpaper are not the best companions to autonomy. By installing static images as a screensaver and abandoning the beautiful, but essentially useless visual effect, you will add a little more life to your smartphone.

Open Settings – General – Accessibility – Reduce Motion and enable the item of the same name.

14. Enabling Wi-Fi Assistant

One of the innovations regarding reasonable consumption iPhone battery in iOS 9 there was an appearance Wi-Fi assistant. The principle of its operation is to stop deliberately connecting to a weak Wi-Fi network and switch to mobile Internet in order to reduce energy consumption. Leave it on.

You can enable Wi-Fi assistant in the following menu: Settings - Cellular, scroll to the bottom of the list of applications and turn on the item Help with Wi-Fi.

15. “Face on the floor”

After updating to iOS 9, get into the habit of placing your smartphone face down. During active calls coming from annoying callers, this will help to significantly extend the battery life of the iPhone.

When the iPhone is facing down, the device screen does not light up when notifications or incoming calls arrive.

16. Sending your location to friends

Starting with iOS 8, Apple enabled the ability to share your location with friends and iPhone owners by sending GPS data in a message. Battery consumption and location services are discussed above and most the best option for the battery of your iOS device – complete shutdown sharing geodata.

17. Frequently visited places and system geoservices

iOS 9 does everything possible to ensure that the user receives maximum comfort when using a smartphone anywhere, at any time. And for this purpose he collects necessary information by location.

Opening Settings – Privacy – Location Services, scroll the list of applications to the very bottom and open the item System Services. First of all, turn off Frequently visited places.

In the expanded list of services, you can disable a number of items:

It is recommended to turn off the functions Geo-alert, compass calibration, motion tracking calibration, find iPhone too.

18. Auto brightness

Installed under protective glass Screen light sensors provide automatic adjustment of display brightness depending on the “light” surrounding situation. Their effectiveness is still questionable and it is often better to set the default display brightness level to one position, turning off auto-brightness.

This will have a positive effect on battery life. Open Settings – Screen and brightness and disable the item Auto brightness. Experiment with screen brightness (set to minimum) and fast switching modes using Home keys you can in these instructions.

19. Turn off Air Drop

How often do you share files between Mac, iPad or iPhone using the Air Drop? If there is no need to “always be visible”, it is better to disable this function, adding a few minutes of battery life.

Swipe from bottom to top to call up the panel quick access. Click on Air Drop and tap on the item Switch off.

20. iOS 9 Power Saving Mode

One of the key innovations of iOS 9 was the appearance of the Low Power Consumption mode. By default, the prompt to switch the device to low battery consumption mode occurs when the charge drops below 20%.

However, if you don’t play games and the performance (see mode performance comparison) of the smartphone is not the main criterion during long trips and location “far from an outlet,” the Power Saving Mode will come in handy. To enable it, open Settings – Battery and turn on the corresponding switch.
