SAPPHIRE TriXX download latest version for Windows. An updated version of the Sapphire TriXX utility allows you to control the voltage on “Fiji” Sapphire Trix chips

Nowadays, the words “Mining”, “Blockchain”, “Bitcoins” are heard literally everywhere: from tram passengers to serious businessmen and State Duma deputies. It is difficult to understand all the intricacies and pitfalls of these and related concepts, however in the database on our website You will quickly find comprehensive information covering all aspects.

That's all in a nutshell necessary knowledge will be presented in this article.
So, let's start with the blockchain. Its essence is that computers are combined into single network through a set of blocks containing automatically encrypted information that gets there. Together these blocks form a database. Let's say you want to sell a house. After completing the documents, you need to go to a notary, then in his presence, having certified the transfer with your signature, they will give you the money. It takes a long time, and besides, you have to pay a fee.

Thanks to blockchain technology, it is enough to:

  1. Arrange.
  2. Find out the recipient's account.
  3. Transfer money to the recipient's account.

And not just money. Can be issued electronic signature and send documents and any other information, including confidential information. Again, notaries and other officials are not needed: it is enough for you and the recipient (be it a private person or a government agency) to identify yourself in your computer.

  • Insurance;
  • Logistics;
  • Payment of fines
  • Marriage registration and much more.

The concept of cryptocurrency is closely related to blockchain. Cryptocurrency is a new generation of decentralized digital currency created and operating only on the Internet. No one controls it; currency is issued through the work of millions of computers around the world, using a program to calculate mathematical algorithms.

Briefly it looks like this:
1. You intend to transfer money to someone.
2. A mathematical code is generated, passing through the blocks already known to you.

3. Many computers (often representing a collection of them, with powerful processors and as a consequence of greater throughput) process digital information, transmitting them to next blocks, receiving a reward for this (some transactions can be made for free)
4. The mathematical code reaches the recipient’s electronic wallet, and money appears on his balance.

Again, as is the case with blockchain, cryptocurrency transfers are not controlled by anyone.

Although the database is open, with all the addresses of those transferring and receiving money, no one knows the owner of this or that address from which the transfer is made, unless the owner himself wants to tell.

Sapphire trixx how to use

There are many currencies that work on a similar principle. The most famous is, of course, Bitcoin. Also popular are Ethereum, Rittle, Litecoins, Numits, Namecoins and many others. The difference between them is different types encryption, processing and some other parameters.

Miners make money from money transfer technology.

These are the people who created the above-mentioned set of computer video cards, which generates new blocks that transmit digital information - bitcoins (or rittles, or any other cryptocurrency). For this they receive a reward in the form of the same cryptocurrency.

There is competition between miners, because... The technology is programmed to become more complex with each transaction. At first it was possible to mine from one computer (2008), but now such a currency as Bitcoin is simply unprofitable for individuals: you need a lot of video cards (they are collectively called farms), with huge computing power. To do this, separate premises are rented; the energy costs for work are comparable to the costs of industrial enterprises.

But you can make money on other, less popular, but developing cryptocurrencies. There is also a distinction between solo mining and pool mining. Solo is the creation of your own farm, the profit is taken for yourself. The pool brings together other people with the same goals. You can earn much more, but you have to share it with everyone.

They became interested in the prospects for using blockchain technology in general and cryptocurrencies in particular individuals, and entire states.

Cryptocurrency is legal in Japan. In Russia, next year they are going to adopt regulations on the legalization of blockchain, cryptocurrency transfers and mining. It is planned to transfer some operations to the blockchain framework. It makes sense to study this in more detail, and, if desired, start earning money. It's obvious that now information Technology will develop and enter our lives more and more.

SAPPHIRE TriXX allows you to increase the performance of the video card on all machines with installed Radeon series adapters. With its help, you can control memory and core frequencies, set the rotation speed of coolers, and also get detailed information O graphics system personal computer. There is support for CrossFireX modes.

Possibilities:

  • support for all types of SAPPHIRE Radeon family video cards;
  • display information about the graphics adapter;
  • changing the core frequency and memory of the video device;
  • support for systems with multiple adapters (CrossFireX);
  • cooler speed control.

Working principle:

The utility's interface looks very modern and resembles the dashboard of a racing car. If we draw an analogy, then the tachometer is the processor frequency indicator, the speedometer is a unit for controlling the memory frequency, and instead of the turbo pressure there is an arrow displaying the CPU voltage. This is all controlled by sliders under the “wells” of the devices. The "red zone" is also present.

On the spot on-board computer There is a section for adjusting the fan speed. At the very bottom of the interface, the buttons for displaying information about the installed adapter (“Card Info”) and the graphical monitor of key indicators (“Hardware Monitor”) are of interest.

Pros:

  • the ability to programmatically influence the actual hardware characteristics of the video card;
  • unusual “racing” interface;
  • display adapter temperature and other detailed information.

Cons:

  • a significant increase in frequencies reduces the resource;
  • There is no translation of the utility menu into Russian.

Radeon video systems have always been famous for their ability to significantly improve performance by increasing the bus frequency and GPU voltage. On the other hand, such actions do not always have a positive effect on the life of the adapter. Therefore, we recommend that you consciously approach the overclocking process, download free utility Sapphire Trix, study the features of the SAPPHIRE adapter and only then try to influence the overclocking parameters. If you approach the process carefully, then at the end you will get a faster video card and its stable work long period time. Agree, it’s nice to have a more productive system just by installing the utility.

Analogues:

  • GIGABYTE OC Guru 2 - overclocking software graphic cards Gigabyte manufacturer;
  • RivaTuner is a program for controlling the frequencies of NVIDIA video adapters.

The technical characteristics of the video card are: great value, especially for users who are passionate about games and use modern applications with high demands. The question often arises about how to increase the performance of a video adapter or, more simply put, “overclock” it.

To solve a similar issue with common Radeon video cards, the Sapphire TriXX utility was developed. There are many programs aimed at achieving this effect, but if the user needs an easy-to-use utility, then this is the one to choose.

Sapphire TriXX- overclocking utility fine tuning Radeon video cards, developed by Sapphire. It allows you to: overclock the frequency of the core and memory, adjust the core voltage, monitor the GPU, adjust the speed of the cooling system, display information about graphics device, configure LED backlight, record profiles. Supports CrossFire mode.

How to use Sapphire TriXX

Users inexperienced in the intricacies of overclocking wonder when choosing Sapphire TriXX how to use the program. In fact, the utility is very simple and the interface is intuitive.

The main tab that requires attention will be Overclocking; this section contains three main characteristics of the video adapter that can be adjusted by software.

  1. GPU - frequency GPU. By increasing the performance, the user increases the speed of processing graphic data. This increases FPS in gaming applications.
  2. Memory Clock – memory frequency. This characteristic can also be changed using the Sapphire TriXX utility.
  3. VDDC or the so-called voltage, for a beginner, the first two settings points are enough, since not all video adapters support the third. You should also be careful and not set high values right away; for this utility you should not increase it by more than 50-100 points.

Adjusting the settings in Sapphire TriXX is quite easy; in addition to the sliders, you can fine-tune and enter values from the keyboard.

In addition, overheating of the video card can be an indicator of overclocking. This program allows you to monitor the temperature of the video adapter and adjust the speed of the fans and cooling system. Experienced overclockers do not recommend allowing temperatures above 85 degrees for most GPUs.

Today, almost every self-respecting graphics card manufacturer has introduced to the market its own version of a utility for overclocking them. Most users are, of course, accustomed to RivaTuner and its current successor MSI Afterburner. But for Sapphire video cards the number of overclocking programs is limited due to large quantity“non-references” and non-standard voltage controllers that regulate the GPU.

In the case of the Radeon HD 6950 Toxic, a CHIL 8228G voltage controller is used, which is not supported by most modern utilities, including the most common MSI Afterburner. Therefore, for overclocking graphics adapters manufactured by Sapphire, Sapphire TriXX, which is now available in version 4.0.2, is best suited.

The program interface is quite simple and convenient. The main window contains information about the graphics adapter, type and amount of memory, number of pipelines, current frequencies GPU and video memory.

On the Overclocking tab, you can change the core and memory frequencies, as well as regulate the voltage on the GPU. Its slider can be set to the maximum position - up to a value of 1.3 V. Although even this voltage will not be enough for overclocking using liquid nitrogen.

To control the fan speed, the manufacturer has provided a separate tab in which three modes are available for the turbine speed. Selected by default automatic mode changes in its speed. You can also set a specific percentage of the rotation speed or create your own rotation speed at a specific temperature.

Test configuration

For Radeon testing HD 6950 Toxic used the following components:

  • Motherboard: ASUS Rampage III Black Edition (BIOS 0504);
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-990X, 3470 MHz @ 4000 MHz;
  • Cooling system: Thermalright IFX-14;
  • Copper CPU Cup: SF3D Inflection LN2 Pot;
  • Copper cup for video card: k|ngp|n cooling Fat 9.0 LN2 Pot;
  • Thermal paste: Arctic Cooling MX-4;
  • RAM: Corsair Dominator GT 9-10-9-24 1.65 V 2x2048 MB;
  • Storage: Seagate Momentus XT, 500 GB, SATA 3 Gb/s;
  • Power supply: Corsair AX1200, 1200 Watt;
  • Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1;
  • Thermometer: Fluke 54II;
  • Multimeter: Fluke 28II.

Noise level

When new products just hit the market after their announcement, in most cases users have to be content with the solutions that AMD or NVIDIA offer them. In the case of AMD, the last few generations of top-end video cards are equipped with turbine cooling, which, although productive, is noisy. But for overclockers who are not yet ready for feats with liquid nitrogen, a turbine with five thousand revolutions is perfect for achieving maximum results without replacing the standard CO.

But if the number of extreme enthusiasts in Russia is very low, and the number of overclockers using air cooling and those who dream of records on HwBot.org tend to zero, then the number of “reasonable” users is very high. For this group of people, megahertz is not as important as convenience along with high performance. Yes, they overclock their video cards, but staying at the limit of the convenience threshold. After all, it is simply impossible to work on a computer or play modern games with the turbine turned on 100%, so they prefer to use a slight increase in frequencies graphics adapter without changing the operating mode of the CO fan.

Noise level measurements were carried out with a Testo 815 sound level meter located at a distance of 50 cm from the video card fan. Minimum speed The rotation speed of the Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 Toxic turbine is 1187 rpm, which is a percentage of 25%. The noise level was measured with a fan rotation step of 10%, the maximum possible speed was 100%. The fan speed was changed using the MSI Afterburner utility. The noise level in the room at the time of measurement was 26 dB.

Unfortunately, I was not able to compare the level of the Sapphire turbine with the cooling system of the reference design, but for clarity, I added to the diagram the results of noise level measurements of two more non-reference products that received their own fan COs - ASUS Radeon HD 6950 Direct CUII and Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 Dirt3 Edition.

The noise level at idle was 37.7 dB. For turbine cooling system this figure looks adequate, but when compared with products using original COs, the numbers look depressing. Already at 50% of the rotation speed, the turbine catches up with its rivals at 100%. At the same time, the noise level, according to my subjective feelings, becomes quite annoying; of course, it is quite possible to withstand several hours of tests, but permanent job Not everyone can handle such noise.

As the turbine rotation speed increased, the noise also increased noticeably. At the peak, that is, at 100%, we managed to record a value of 68.7 dB. After several days of testing, I forced myself to increase the turbine speed to 100% by willpower. In general, the noise levels are, of course, off the charts, but judging by the reviews of my colleagues, the Sapphire turbine turned out to be quieter than the reference one, which is generally a big plus for this CO.

Temperature and overclocking potential

Turbine cooling systems in addition to high level noise and excellent temperature performance. The use of such systems by AMD only indicates that for modern video cards this path is indeed the right one. The cold air flow created by the turbine high speed passes between the ribs of the evaporation chamber, taking all the heat to itself. Another advantage of this cooling is that all this rather hot air exits the body.

It was decided to check the temperature conditions of the Radeon HD 6950 Toxic cooling system using the FurMark 1.8.2 utility. Temperature measurements were carried out in the following modes:

Also, to compare temperature conditions, readings were taken with the default number of pipelines for the Radeon HD 6950 - 1408, and then using BIOS switching, measurements were taken with 1536. The image shows the position of the switch at which the BIOS operates with 1408 pipelines:

With automatic fan control we managed to obtain:

The difference between temperature conditions with the nominal number of conveyors and unlocked is almost unnoticeable. This is probably due to the fact that in this case Only the pipelines are unlocked, without flashing the BIOS firmware of the reference Radeon HD 6970, that is, the voltages on the core and memory remain unchanged. A difference of 1 degree can be called an error. As a result, with 1408 conveyors GPU temperature under load it was 75 degrees Celsius, from 1536 – 76 degrees.

At 100% rotation speed, GPU temperatures dropped noticeably. In this case, there was no difference at all between the number of pipelines; in both cases, the GPU temperature decreased by 13 degrees and amounted to 52 degrees Celsius.

  • Without increasing the voltage on the GPU, at 100% turbine rotation speed;
  • With an increase in voltage on the GPU, at 100% turbine rotation speed.

As a precaution, and also to evaluate the impact of pipelines on the potential of the video card temperature conditions were measured both in normal mode and with “unlocking”.

Frequency graphics core was 970 MHz at a voltage of 1.175 V. Let me remind you that the manufacturer initially increased the voltage on the GPU relative to the reference card, so when compared with solutions from other manufacturers, the Toxic version will initially win in terms of frequency potential, thanks to the increased voltage. The memory frequency was 1500 MHz, which can be called a very good result.

Most Radeon HD 6950 graphics cards using alternative systems cooling will most often be inferior to the Sapphire version, since on the Toxic the heat is removed from the memory chips through an aluminum plate cooled by the air flow from the turbine. And in video cards with their own COs, the memory is blown only by air flow from the fans.

The temperature increase from increasing the core and memory frequencies from 880/1300 MHz to 970/1500 MHz was only 1-2 degrees, and the different number of pipelines had absolutely no effect on the overclocking potential.

By increasing the voltage to 1.25 V, the GPU frequency was raised to 1010 MHz. Further raising the voltage made it possible to increase the frequency of the graphics core to 1020-1030 MHz, but not all benchmarks were stable at these frequencies. In general, the obtained values can be called quite high; the increased voltage in conjunction with the turbine cooling system did its job.

Performance Evaluation

The following applications were used to evaluate the performance of the video card:

  • 3DMark 11, Performance and Extreme Preset;
  • 3DMark Vantage, Performance and High Preset;
  • 3DMark06, default settings;
  • HwBot Unigine Heaven Benchmark, DirectX 11;
  • Street Fighter IV Benchmark, 1920x1080 C16xQAA;
  • Aliens vs Predator Benchmark;
  • Resident Evil 5 Benchmark;
  • Lost Planet 2 Benchmark;

Performance measurements were first performed without changing the core and memory frequencies, but using a different number of pipelines. Differences in the use of 1408 and 1536 pipelines are given for a single video card and for the CrossFire mode.
