Great, today we will look and study as much as possible new receiver GS-U510 (this is a receiver from model range 2013). This wonderful device makes Russian company General Satellite. There are many enthusiastic posts on the Internet about this receiver - supposedly, this is an ultra-modern device with a super processor Russian production on new cutting-edge firmware. But all these posts are reposts from official release manufacturer. What the new receiver really is like - only operation will show.
The receiver itself comes in two versions - black - GS U510B and gray - GS U510S. In terms of case size and appearance, it is practically no different from its predecessors - GS 8307/GS 8308.

GS U510 - firmware and processor
The firmware and CPU in this receiver deserve special mention. The firmware was rewritten almost from scratch. Now, when making settings, various beautiful icons appear and appearance the window looks like Android system. The firmware itself added things that the vast majority of subscribers will never use - games, for example. But they added it for order. A nice change in the firmware has resulted in the channel list displayed on the screen becoming more readable - thanks to the larger font and contrasting color scheme. Practice shows that the receiver really does well with the new processor inside - it works quickly, does not freeze with a normal signal from the antenna, scanning channels is also fast, and switches channels without significant delays. So the new receiver on the new processor turned out to be really good (especially if you compare the receiver only with other receivers produced by General Satellite).
The firmware and processor are precisely the significant difference between the new receiver and the old ones, with which it is united only by an externally similar case and its dimensions.
GS U510 - breakthrough or evolution?
From a technical point of view, it can be argued that the GS U510 is truly a breakthrough. From the point of view of the user and daily operation, the receiver does not offer users anything new - all the same channels are still in the same quality as previously on the receivers 8306, 9303, 8307 and other HD versions of receivers for Tricolor TV. So there is no need to talk about a breakthrough here. True, the nice thing is that the new firmware version draws a beautiful, high-contrast and large print list of channels. Moreover, searching for channels is now faster and looks more beautiful thanks to animation in the menu.
Instead of a conclusion, we can say that the receiver turned out to be good. Fast. There is no reason not to choose it. By at least as of August 2014.

Front panel

Troubleshooting
During the update process, the subscriber may have problems with the procedure for installing new software. Let's look at the most common problems and solutions.
- If you turned on the Telemaster channel 333 and did not find a message asking you to update the GS receiver, then this procedure is not currently required. You can check which version is installed by selecting the “Status” section in the Menu.
