Instructions for updating AirKit software to work with NTV+/NTV+ Vostok.

1. Download the required firmware to your computer and extract the files from the archive.

The firmware archive contains several separate files. The server.bin file is for server programming. The files Zond1_VIA_H01_V20.UPD, Zond2_VIA_H01_V20.UPD, Zond3_VIA_H01_V20.UPD, etc. are intended for programming probe cards of the system, and each probe card must be programmed with its own file, i.e. with your number.

2. Disconnect the server from the power supply, remove the card paid subscription(if installed) and connect it to a computer running Windows system using the adapter or cable that comes with the kit.

3. Wait for it to install automatically necessary drivers for your operating system.

5 . Launch the configurator. The message "Device connected" should appear at the bottom left

6 . Click the "Run Boot" button.

7 . Everything on AirKit will light up at once indicator lights and after 30 seconds you will see in the system new section(disk) with volume label FIRM UPDATE. This is usually the "i" drive. On this disk there is a firmware.bin file. First, delete it and copy the firmware.bin file in its place new firmware, which you downloaded.

8 . Disconnect the system server from your computer and turn it back on. That's it - server programming is complete. Let's start programming probe cards.

9 . Install any probe into the server's card reader.

10 . Click the "Card Update" button. 2 indicator lights will light up on the probe at once.

11 first probe card, for example, Zond1_VIA_H01_V19.UPD and click "Open". The indicator lights on the probe will begin to blink and the probe will begin programming. Wait until the configurator display bar reaches 100%.

12 . From the firmware archive that you downloaded, select the file for second probe card, for example, Zond2_VIA_H01_V19.UPD and click "Open". The indicator lights on the probe will begin to blink and the probe will begin programming. Wait until the configurator display bar reaches 100%.

13 . From the firmware archive that you downloaded, select the file for third probe card, for example, Zond3_VIA_H01_V19.UPD and click "Open". The indicator lights on the probe will begin to blink and the probe will begin programming. Wait until the configurator display bar reaches 100%.

What types of receivers are there? This question always arises among people planning to connect to satellite television. Let's try to explain with examples. Receivers are divided into the following categories:

1. With the ability to view only uncoded digital channels.
Example: The GS FTA 7001 receiver is one of the inexpensive receivers that allows you to receive only uncoded satellite channels.
When you tune your antenna to the ABS-1 (LMI) satellite, you can view more than 20 uncoded channels.
When tuning your antenna to the Bonum-1 satellite, you can view 3 uncoded channels.
Don't forget about the radio channels broadcast from these satellites.

How to set up an antenna so that you can watch uncoded channels from two or more satellites is described in the Article: About antennas.

2. With the ability to view uncoded digital channels, as well as the ability to install a so-called access module in them.

A Smart card must be installed in the access module itself. A smart card is a plastic card similar to an ordinary card from any bank. It stores personal information. Without a card, viewing encrypted channels will not be possible. That is, you need to additionally pay for viewing encrypted channels for a certain period of time.

Example: Receiver GS FTA 7101. The receiver has space for installing an access module.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that access modules come with different encoding support, and to view NTV-PLUS channels you need one access module, and to view Tricolor Siberia channels, another. Accordingly, different smart cards are needed.

One more point that I would like to note. When purchasing an access module and a smart card, for example, to view Tricolor TV Siberia channels, you get access to viewing on whole year forward coded channels of the package "Optimum" and demon paid package"Base". After 1 year, if you do not renew (pay) the amount for viewing the paid package, only the paid “Optimum” package will no longer be shown, and the “Basic” package is provided free of charge for the entire time you use the equipment.

3. With a built-in access module and the ability to view encrypted and unencrypted digital channels.
Example: The GS VA 7200 or Humax VA-ACE+ receiver allows you to receive NTV-PLUS VOSTOK channels. Receiver DRE-4500 receives Tricolor TV Siberia channels.

4. With a built-in access module and the ability to install an additional module.
The receiver also allows you to view encoded and unencoded digital channels.
Example: Receiver DRE 5000 or DRE 7300 or DRS 7300 or GS 7300.

5. With the ability to watch uncoded television channels high definition(HDTV), uncoded digital channels, as well as the ability to install an access module in them for viewing encrypted digital channels and encrypted HDTV channels.

Example: Humax HDCI 2000 or Topfield TF700HSCI receiver.

6. With a built-in access module and the ability to view unencrypted high-definition television (HDTV) channels, unencrypted digital channels, the ability to view encrypted high-definition television (HDTV) channels, encrypted digital channels.
Example: GS HD 9300 receiver.

7. With built-in hard drive. The latter supports recording to disc even HDTV channels.

Example: Topfield TF800PVR HDMI receiver; Humax PVR 9100 or GS HD 9300.

Summarize. Receivers are:

What does it mean to flash a receiver? Many people ask this question as soon as the conversation turns to firmware. In fact, firmware is just an update software(BY). Like all electronic devices, the receiver performs its functions in accordance with the programs downloaded into it. But software manufacturers are constantly improving, adding, changing, rewriting their software products. In the menu of your receiver there is always the name of the program that it uses to operate, and possible versions Software that is generally suitable for the device is always presented in a wide variety on the Internet.

Why can and should you update the software?

Firstly, most likely your receiver is not Russified. And this happens most often. If your native language is not English, unfortunately, pardon the pun, you will not find a language with it. Therefore, after installing the new Russified software, you will have the opportunity to understand each other and interact. Secondly, the new version of the software will be able to see new satellites, which will make it possible to expand the capabilities of your television. Thirdly, yours is not the most latest model The receiver may reveal quite modern properties - menu type, color, operating speed. When changing frequencies or transferring some functions from one satellite to another, new software can save you from confusion and problems automatic installation channels.

How to update software.

There are several options for firmware for the receiver. And when purchasing any receiver, you need to find out how the software can be updated.

Updating the program from your computer.

To do this you will need:

  • Internet access or disk with software;
  • special cable.

When downloading software from the Internet, you can choose the required version programs based on preferences and desires.
What are the advantages of this type of firmware?

  • you can install new software at any convenient time;
  • can be reinstalled again old version existing program;
  • You can download unlicensed software.

Manual download from satellite.

This requires:

  • the desired companion;
  • knowledge of the frequency of the download channel.

Manual firmware from satellite can be performed at any time. This will definitely be a new version of the software for your receiver. However, the new capabilities of the program are unknown in advance.

Download from satellite in automatic mode.

If your receiver has automatic update programs, then it starts at absolutely any time, as soon as a new version of your program is developed. It is not recommended to interrupt the update. In this case, you don’t have to worry about the quality of the software - this is proprietary, proven software specifically for your receiver model. There is only one surprise - it is unknown what features the new version contains.

What future software has in store for you...

In fact, experts do not advise downloading on your own. new version software, and there are objective reasons for this.
Safety rules for flashing firmware.
1. Remember, replacing standard software makes it impossible to warranty service. 2. The program must exactly match your model and brand of receiver. 3. Some receivers require downloading new versions of programs only in the order they appear. 4. Before starting the firmware, carefully read the manual of your receiver. Sometimes timely reading useful information eliminates many unnecessary actions. 5. When connecting the computer to the receiver wires, be sure to turn off the power to the devices. 6. Read reviews about the version of the program you are going to download. 7. During the update process, do not disconnect the receiver or computer from power. 8. Think carefully, maybe it would be better to contact a specialist?
