JetAudio, a music player that recently appeared on Google Play, has managed to make a lot of noise among owners of Android devices. It is constantly compared to PowerAmp, PlayerPro and WinAmp - recognized leaders in their category. And this can only mean one thing: JetAudio has already found its audience and won the trust of a significant number of gadget lovers.

We're done with the introductions, let's move on to the actual review of the application.

It is worth mentioning that this player is a port from a desktop media processor that is popular among PC users. There are two mobile versions: free (Basic) and paid (Plus). The free version of the app predictably contains ads and lacks some advanced features.

JetAudio Basic has a simple and beautiful design with plenty of visuals and has all the essential features you'd expect to find in an app like this: creating playlists and adding tracks to existing playlists and even folders, searching by songs, artists and albums, and equalizer with wide possibilities for customizing music listening in accordance with the individual preferences of the listener.

It’s worth taking a closer look at the equalizer. It has ten bands, and settings can be set according to 32 parameters. It is possible to change the playback speed and apply effects: for example, echo, reverberation, surround sound or those that increase the clarity of the sound or create the effect that you have a real tube amplifier in your smartphone. Thanks to this, even the most discerning music lovers will be able to enjoy the highest quality sound. However, in order to use all the effects without restrictions, you must purchase the Plus version. The paid version will also be needed for those who want to synchronize their last.fm account with JetAudio.

I was very pleased with the fact that this player supports a large number of different formats (in addition to standard .mp3 and .wav, you can play files in .ogg, .flac, .m4a, etc. formats).

By installing JetAudio on your smartphone or tablet, you can also use convenient widgets (just don’t transfer them to your memory card!).

Many fans of PowerAmp JetAudio were not convinced. Most often, they are not satisfied with the interface, the operation of widgets (especially on the lockscreen), the display of album covers and other parameters by which users determine the “usability” of a particular player. However, it would be foolish to argue with the fact that PowerAmp is inferior to JetAudio in terms of sound. And for the sake of this, true music lovers will be ready to put up with some shortcomings of the new and very promising player.

Unfortunately, not everything is rosy with this project. Some advanced audio settings are added and removed by developers from release to release, apparently in order to compete with products that are easier to use (such as the aforementioned PowerAmp or the equally popular WinAmp).

However, I highly recommend installing JetAudio and listening to your favorite music on it. I am sure this will bring true pleasure to many.

A year ago, an audio player known to many experienced computer scientists appeared in the App Store jetAudio for iPhone/iPod. I was pleased with the built-in support for the Russian language.

For the ability to manually adjust the equalizer, I had to make an in-app purchase “Plus Unlocker”. But she's worth it!

A musician friend helped me optimally configure the player’s equalizer and from that moment jetAudio became my main audio player on iDevices. The only thing missing was support for the iPad player.

Today the player received another update in the App Store. To my delight, full tablet support appeared! [To the credit of the developers, they did not charge a separate fee for this]

The player on iPad works in vertical/horizontal modes. The update also added another in-app purchase “Crystalizer” (some new sound effect..)

Key player features:

• Controlling music playback with gestures: double tapping on the screen stops/continues playing, swiping left/right on the screen leads to playing the next/previous song.

• Displaying song lyrics (if they were included in ID3 tags).
• Repeat playback mode for a single song or an entire album/playlist.

To summarize, we can safely say: jetAudio Music Player is one of the best audio players on the App Store today. The player is not overloaded with unnecessary settings, allows you to customize the sound to suit the user's needs, and can play in the background. The only thing the application lacks is its own widget for the Notification Panel. However, nothing prevents us from controlling the player’s playback from the Control Center or on the lock screen.
