Everyone chooses their own method of receiving channels in digital quality, this is what I proceeded from when choosing:.
Terrestrial digital television did not suit me, due to the small number of channels.
Cable television - everything is more complicated here, the operator that provides television via coaxial cable without using coding (no set-top boxes are needed) does not serve my home, and the operators that provide television through the set-top box did not suit me either, since I have to pay a subscription fee for connecting one TV 300 rubles or more, in my opinion, is expensive. Based on this, I chose satellite television. The disadvantage of this method is that to use it you must initially have an amount of about 10 thousand rubles. for the purchase of equipment. But you can always save money, for example, I had an old NTV+ receiver, and through a promotion I exchanged it with an additional payment for a new NTV+ receiver - I’ll immediately clarify that this was a temporary promotion, I was just lucky to meet the deadline. But promotions change and there is always the opportunity to buy a satellite kit cheaper. So, I didn’t have to choose between satellite operators, since I got an NTV+ set with a contract and a card for cheap. All that remained was to install the dish and enjoy digital channels, even channels in HD quality.
A little theory about satellite television.
For those who are not at all aware of the installation of satellite equipment, I will explain that the dish must look strictly at the satellite broadcasting signal. Here it’s worth telling a little more about satellite television technology.
The television signal is broadcast from a geostationary satellite hovering above the Earth. If you go a little deeper, the satellite rotates in the plane of the earth's equator at an altitude of approximately 35,000 km above the earth's surface. The period of revolution in this orbit is one day. That is, a satellite moving in a geostationary orbit does not change its position relative to the Earth’s surface (it constantly “hangs” above the same point of the equator).
Using a satellite dish, we focus the signal from the satellite to the point where the converter is located.
A converter is a receiving device that is mounted at the focus of a signal reflected from a satellite dish and converts this signal into an electrical signal, after which it transmits it to the receiver.
A receiver is a device that converts the signal coming from the converter into a “understandable” signal for the TV. The receiver connects to the TV using an HDMI, SCART, “tulip”, etc. interface. depends on the model of the receiver and the connectors on the TV.
The general diagram is presented below.
Installation of NTV+ dish
So, let's move from theory to practice. Below I will describe how I installed and configured NTV+ (for those who set up Tricolor, the connection diagram will be similar).
I climbed onto the roof of my house and saw the following picture - two satellite dishes hanging, there was a place left just for mine.
If you pay attention, one dish is used for Tricolor (judging by the inscription on the plate, although this may not be the case), this is good, since Tricolor and NTV+ broadcast from the same satellite, which means they are directed to the same point in the sky, adjust the direction accordingly antennas will be easier, since the sample will be nearby. When installing a satellite dish, you can also look around, since most people use either Tricolor or NTV+, accordingly you will understand in which direction you need to turn the antenna. If there are no dishes nearby, turn the dish to the south (since the satellite “hangs” on the equator), it should be taken into account that there should not be any trees or buildings on the path between the satellite and the direction of the dish, since they will not allow the signal to reach the dish.
The first step is to fasten the antenna bracket using anchor bolts (usually they come with the antenna). To do this, attach the bracket to the wall, mark the places where you need to drill holes, and use a drill to make holes with a depth and a radius the size of an anchor bolt. Then insert the bolts there.
Then attach the bracket to the wall and screw it.
As a result of all actions, check that the bracket is firmly secured and does not wobble.
After this, assemble the plate and attach it to the bracket.
Next, you need to run a coaxial cable from the receiver (where the TV will be) to the satellite dish converter. If the cable exceeds 10 meters, you can buy a high-quality 75 Ohm coaxial cable of the required length.
After that, use an HDMI, SCART or tulip cable to connect the receiver to the TV. Then turn on the receiver, select AV mode (corresponding interface) on the TV. You will see the receiver menu, select the satellite in the settings (let me remind you, for NTV+ and Tricolor it will be the same satellite), for the European zone it will be EUTELSAT W4/ W7 or EUTELSAT 36A/ 36B (they have been renamed).
The next step is to set the dish strictly to the satellite. In order not to use additional devices to help set up channels, which cost a lot of money (and there’s no need if you want to set up one satellite dish for yourself), you will need an assistant who will monitor the signal level, while you turn plate. You can use a cell phone for communication.
You should rotate the plate millimeter by millimeter in order to catch a good signal. The antenna rotates not only horizontally, but also vertically, do not forget about this.
In the end, I set up an NTV+ dish (I decided prematurely).
I managed to achieve a signal of more than 70 percent; it was cloudy, so perhaps the result was no better. Coming down after setting up the antenna, I quickly tuned in the channels using auto search and was quite pleased. BUT, when I turned on the HD channel, an information sign “No signal” appeared in front of me.
How so?! All channels work normally, but all HDs write “No signal”.
A call to technical support did not bring any results. I decided to spin the plate some more to achieve at least some signal level (as you can see in the picture below, the signal level of HD channels is 0%). To do this, in the menu I selected List TP - 11823/27500/V (it is responsible for some of the HD channels).
I climbed onto the roof and again began to slowly turn the antenna; my assistant remained near the TV and told me the signal level. After literally 10-15 minutes I managed to set up the HD channels; they showed a signal level of about 73%. Having gone down, I could already see the channels in HD quality, the other channels were also excellent.
The bottom line of this whole story is, do not believe people who say that only specialists with special equipment can install and configure satellite television. Almost anyone can do this!!!

For independent NTV+ settings You need to take into account the angle of the dish mirror itself towards the satellite: it varies from 17 to 38 degrees. You can find out the exact value from the satellite dish manufacturer or see the attached instructions.
Setting up the NTV+ antenna carried out in the following stages:
- Point the plate towards the south. On the official website of NTV + you can see that the trajectory of the Eutelsat 36A (B, C) satellites is located on the equator. For accurate determination, use a compass.
- Often problems with the quality of the resulting picture are not related to the equipment. It is the presence of interference in the form of trees, houses, towers that prevents the signal from entering or significantly muffles it. For the city, the ideal place for installation is the roof, and for rural areas - a pole. But if there are no obstacles near the installation point, then installation can be done near the window.
- An important aspect is the fastening: it must be rigid and strong. In winter, when the windage of the dish is most noticeable, a good mount will not reduce the signal level. It is best to secure the plate with stainless steel anchor bolts.
- Connect the convector to the antenna, and then route the cable to the receiver.
After installation, you must turn on the receiver and set up NTV+ channels. Go to the main menu, select manual or automatic mode, then click “Search for channels”.
Schematically it looks like this: Menu/Settings/Installation/NTV-Plus (auto search). A list will appear in front of you in which you need to select NTV-Plus (auto search). You can also periodically update the installed software manually or specify “Automatic software update” in the settings in advance.
To manually configure, you need to go to the main menu and select “Default installation”. In this case, the software will work according to the manufacturer’s specified algorithm. Enter the “Channels” item, then directly into the “Antenna” column, after which you will see a list in which you should click “Setting up a satellite system and satellite”.
Next, the tuner will ask for a password, which must be entered manually. After entering the password, a window will appear in front of you in which you need to remove the checkmarks in front of all positions except the desired satellite - Eutelsat 36A (B, C, E). These manipulations are monitored by the system and blocked, so you can remove the operator card from the tuner in advance.
Next step: setting up the transponder. In order for the system to work smoothly, it is necessary to enter the following data into the program:
— Lower level Lnb = 0;
— Upper level Lnb = 10750.
Save the entered parameters and select the required transponder from the list in the “Manual configuration” column. After that, start searching for channels from the NTV+ operator and add the ones you like to the main list of channels.
There are times when the Eutelsat 36A(B,C) satellite is missing from the list of satellites. In this case, you need to create a new network (User sat 1) by turning on the “LNB Power” function. Set all the necessary parameters and save them without specifying the transponder. Go to the “Manual Tuning” tab and scan the entered satellite. Then create a new transponder with new characteristics. If you did everything correctly, then a new network called “NTV Plus” should appear in the main window. Now you need to add channels: click the “Scan” button and bind the channels to the transponder.
From this article you will learn how to configure NTV-Plus channels on LG TVs.
If your TV has support for CAM modules, this means that you can watch paid satellite television channels on it, in particular such as NTV-Plus.
How to find out if your TV has a satellite tuner? To do this, you need to inspect its rear wall, on which the connectors are located, and find there the input for the LNB IN antenna.
It is also worth noting that all TVs are equipped with a CI slot for CAM modules.
To correctly configure NTV-Plus on LG using the CI+ CAM module, you must follow the instructions below.
The general principle by which all LG TVs are configured is generally the same. Only the names of menu items may differ, which is caused by different software versions, but the essence of the settings is the same.
First of all, you need to install the NTV+ access smart card into the CI+ CAM module in OFF TV. The chip should be facing the thick side of the module. Next, the conditional access module is installed.
The next step is to turn on the LG TV and switch it to satellite reception mode. The list of available channels is displayed on the screen by pressing the LIST button.
After that, take the remote control and press the red button on it to select the reception mode. Check the Satellite mode and click OK.
To make further settings, press the SETTING (MENU) button and go to the CHANNELS section.
Read the information about the module and access card (serial number of the NTV-Plus smart card) in the module menu CI DATA (CAM) - Information - Smart card - General information. If there is nothing there or an error appears, go to the module setup menu CI DATA (CAM) - Settings and select the RESET TO FACTORY SETTINGS section.
Make sure all settings are the same as in the image above. On the left are two scales on which you can check the signal quality, and if you do not have an antenna configured, tune it to the NTV-Plus satellite signal.
After this there are two configuration options:
- For LG TVs with NTV-Plus auto-tuning.
- For models without it.
Auto-tuning of NTV-Plus channels on LG
From the “Satellite Settings” menu, go back using the corresponding BACK button and open the “Auto Search” section, then select the SATELLITE mode and move on.
You must select the NTV-Plus operator. If there is no such operator in the list or your TV does not offer to select it, we recommend using the second setup method, which we will discuss in more detail below.
Below in the “Satellite Settings” menu, simply click OK.
Select the “Quick Search” mode and click OK again.
On “Run” we also click OK.
We wait for the end of the search and its results, click “Close” and exit the menu using the Exit button.
Using this search option, all channels found by the LG TV will be automatically divided into topics, the name of which will be indicated at the top of the list. If desired, the name can be changed by pressing the blue button on the remote control.
Manual setup of NTV-Plus on LG
Open the “Manual Tuning” (or “Manual Search”) menu in the “Channels” section of the main menu. Check that all the settings are in accordance with the image below, and that there is a checkmark in the “Search for network” item, then go to the “Add” item and click OK.
We wait for the search results, click OK on the “Close” item and exit the menu.
In order to display the list of found channels on the screen, click on the List button. All channels will be displayed as one list.
Also in the main menu “Channels” in the line CI DATA (CAM) - Information - Smart card - Providers, you can view information about packages and their expiration dates.
1. How to manually tune a TV with a built-in satellite receiver to the NTV Plus or Tricolor TV satellite?
For the sample, we chose an LG TV produced in 2015 on the WEB OC operating system. Fundamentally, the manual tuning algorithm for other TV models is not much different.
So. The TV is connected to a configured and working satellite antenna, and is configured in TV reception mode - “Live TV”. On the screen we see accordingly:
On the remote control, press “Settings” or “Q.MENU”.
Select "Advanced settings" from the menu that appears
A menu of complete settings appears, where we select “Channels”, “Search for channels”.
After clicking on "Search for channels", select there "Manual search" And "Satellite"(if there is no additional terrestrial antenna or cable TV is not connected).
The all-important search menu appears with setting parameters.
Let's say you need to find all the channels of the operator "NTV Plus" and only him!
We select the satellite "Eutelsat 36".
A very important parameter: “LNB frequency” (different TVs may have a slightly different name: “intermediate frequency”, “high and low frequencies separately”... It doesn’t matter.
Always and everywhere we put it there 10750
. Because other models may offer 10600, 9750, 5100..., but we set only 10750 everywhere.
Next, select the “Transponder” (or the frequency of one of the satellite transmitters). Since we need NTV Plus channels, we take any frequency from the section (if we need to tune to Tricolor TV, we take it from the section What are the frequencies and parameters of Tricolor TV channels?).
We have now selected a transponder with a frequency of 12130 MHz, right circular polarization.
Next, we monitor the signal level and quality scales. If everything is installed correctly, then they should be more than 70%.
Turn on the "Network Search" option! Then the TV will automatically, based on information from one transponder we installed, find all the others and only from the operator "NTV Plus" (and not another ~250 channels of unnecessary "garbage" from Tricolor TV and so on, which happens in automatic search mode).
Some TVs do not have a network search mode. Then you will have to manually scan each transponder from the list (referred to above) separately.
As a result, we see that the TV found all 17 transponders of the NTV Plus operator.
Click "Finish", exit the settings menu and watch the channels we need if you have a CI+ module with an activated access card.
P.S. If in the end you suddenly realize that it is difficult to edit channels, create and switch favorite lists, an inconvenient TV Guide, etc. (which is inherent to all primitive satellite receivers built into televisions) and this is so annoying that you are ready to use 2 remote controls (the first is for turning on/off the TV, the other for everything else), then we recommend purchasing for your access module any of the specialized satellite receivers in the line we offer . Which, by the way, are often purchased by owners of high-end TVs, which, of course, have a built-in satellite receiver and a slot for a CI+ access module.
2. A TV (receiver) with a CI+ CAM NTV Plus module displays on the encrypted channel “Incorrect equipment settings. Please contact your operator.” The service has been paid for. What to do?
It is necessary to reboot the CI+ CAM module ("factory reset")
Using the example of a Samsung TV.
Go to the TV menu
Select the "System" command
Select the "Settings" command
Select the "General Interface" command
Select the command "CI Menu"
By selecting the "Information" command, you can view information about subscriptions - have you run out of money in your account? Then perhaps the problem is not in the module, but in the payment.
But, initially, we assume that you are sure about the issue of payment for services. Therefore, click on “Settings”
Select the command "Factory settings"
A menu appears asking:
Click "OK" to confirm and wait for the module to reboot. After this, we leave the device turned on on the encrypted channel and wait for the picture to appear.
The picture will not appear immediately. The wait can be several hours.
All operations are carried out at your own risk. If you are not sure (and there is a possibility that you will drop something else, very important there), then it is better to contact our store for setup with the module and card.
3. What are the frequencies of Tricolor TV? What are the frequencies of NTV Plus? What open channels are there on the satellite from which Tricolor TV and NTV Plus broadcast? Information on channel parameters - how to manually configure channels. What other channels are there on the satellite?
“Tricolor TV” and “NTV Plus” are broadcast from Eutelsat 36A/36B satellites, “hovering” in geostationary orbit at an altitude of ~30,000 km strictly above the Equator at 36.0°E (east longitude). By taking a map, you can roughly determine the direction and azimuth from Kaliningrad towards this satellite position.
