Little is known about this “magical entity” to mere mortals. There is also no information (from the author) about what merits it is given out for, and how much space is added when used. Therefore, the question of this method of adding additional disk space remains open.

Then you can get another 10GB by inviting friends. Moreover, for each friend you receive +0.5GB, and the invited friend himself receives +1GB. In this way you can gain 20GB of space. But there is a way to get more!

I’ll say right away that all the ways to bypass the Yandex Disk limitation are, one way or another, not ideal solutions. But I only offer proven and good hacks.

1. Birthday mail - a gift to you from Yandex disk.

So, when your mail turns, say, 5 years old, you are given 5GB of disk space. My mail turned 7 years old - and they gave me 7GB. As they say, it’s a small thing, but it’s nice.

2. Buying a device at a promotion - gigabytes as a gift.

The one who invites a new user receives a 0.5 GB increase in volume, and the one who was invited receives an additional 1 GB of space. Thus, the user who sent the invitation will have a total of 10.5 GB, and the user who received the invitation will have 11 GB.

Anyone who invites 19 more people will receive additional space on Yandex.Disk, which will increase to 20 GB. A new user who receives 11 GB can in turn invite new users to increase their storage size to 20 GB.

Additional volume will be provided if a new user installs the Yandex.Disk program on his computer or installs a special application for mobile devices. Platforms supported: Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Android, iPhone, Symbian, Android Tab, iPad.

Now I will tell you how to install Yandex.Disk on your computer. To do this, you will need to create a Yandex mailbox if you don’t have one. It will only take a couple of minutes of your time.

After completing them, 7 GB will be added to the existing Yandex.Disk volume:

Pre-flight preparation - step 1

– install the Yandex.Disk program on your computer. Click on the link “Install Yandex.Disk for Windows” (Fig. 3) and get into the “Open file - security warning” window (Fig. 4):

Click on the “Run” button (Fig. 4),

then we allow you to make changes to your account (I do not publish these screenshots),
go through “Getting to know Yandex.Disk” by clicking on the “Next” button (I don’t provide screenshots), and,

At this point, the installation of the Yandex.Disk program can be considered complete. As a result, after installing it, 3 GB will be added (3GB + 3GB = 6GB) and it will become 6 GB.

In the article “” I described downloading files without the Yandex.Disk program, that is, by and large, you can do without it. But this program is convenient for uploading files larger than 2 GB to Yandex.Disk, because browsers are not designed to upload such heavy files. In addition, 3 Gigabytes for installing this program will also come in handy.

II Invitations for friends

We completed pre-flight preparations - the Yandex.Disk volume became 10 GB. To add up to 10 GB more, you can:
– send the existing link to friends (the link will open after clicking on the “Invitations for Friends” button in Fig. 2), after which the friend will receive 1 GB, and you – 0.5 GB.
Through simple calculations we get: in order to get another 10 GB in addition to the Yandex.Disk volume, you need to send the link to at least 20 friends, provided that they all unanimously use your recommendation.

III Auto-upload of photos and videos

Lovely! The volume of Yandex.Disk will increase by as much as 32 GB, but only for six months).
To do this, you need to follow the link “Auto-upload photos and videos” (Fig. 2), and then configure auto-upload of photos and videos in the Yandex.Disk application.

IV Yandex.Browser

Click on the link “Yandex.Browser” (Fig. 2). In the window that opens, download Yandex.Browser from the provided link (I’ll tell you a secret, you don’t have to install it after downloading) and increase the volume of Yandex.Disk by 5 GB, BUT for a period of 1 year, alas.
By the way, I recommend this method, because it allows you to easily increase the volume of Yandex.Disk by 5 GB.
In this case, the default browser may remain the one you had before. I will add that on the Internet, 1 year is a long time, because all technologies change very quickly.

Yandex.Disk is a cloud service for storing user’s personal files on Yandex servers. As it fills with files, the question inevitably arises: how to increase the volume of Yandex.Disk?

On Disk you can store photos, movies, videos, various backups (backup copies) and other files. To access your files on Yandex.Disk from any device, you need an Internet connection.

Yandex.Disk is also called cloud, disk, Yandex service, cloud disk, Yandex cloud - all terms mean the same thing.

How to get Yandex.Disk

In order to gain access to Yandex.Disk, you need to create a mailbox.

If you already have Yandex.Mail, then finding Disk there is quite easy. For this it is enough:

open your mail, that is, log in with your username and password (number 1 in Fig. 1),
open the menu in the upper left corner (2 in Fig. 1),
and then Disk is just a stone’s throw away: in the menu that appears, click on the icon (3 in Fig. 2).

Immediately after registration, 10 will be available on Yandex.DiskGigabyte.

This may seem like a lot at first. But, as you know, appetite comes with eating. In other words, there is never too much space in the cloud, so if possible, you should increase the volume of Yandex.Disk.

How to find out the size of your Disk

In Fig. 2 shows Yandex.Disk, which the user will see after logging into this service.

The line in the left column “Free 9.92 GB of 10 GB” (number 1 in Fig. 2) is a clickable link. The following link “1 TB for 2000 rubles” is the same. If you click on any of them, a window will open asking you to buy an additional seat, after which you will see the information “Available seat” (1 in Fig. 3):

If the user was provided with additional space for participating in the promotion, or for something else, then all this will be listed after the line “For registration of the Disk forever 10 GB” (Fig. 3).

Increase the volume of Yandex.Disk by increasing the number of free Disks

Over time, the number of photos, backups and other useful files on your computer or mobile phone increases. At the same time, the 10 Gigabyte capacity is quickly running out and the question arises: how can you increase the disk capacity?

The easiest option that comes to mind is to create a new Yandex mail, where there will be another 10 gigabytes on the new Yandex.Disk. If you have two or more accounts on Yandex, then you will have two or more Yandex.Disks. The number of such mailboxes with access to cloud disks is unlimited.

To get 100 gigabytes, you need to register 10 mailboxes in Yandex, each of which will have 10 gigabytes of cloud space. (10 Gigabytes multiplied by 10 mailboxes = 100 GB) It's free, but it's not always convenient.

Indeed, in this case, you need to remember, write down, save logins and passwords for each mail, that is, for each Yandex.Disk. In addition, you need to maintain some kind of your own directory or have some kind of system in order to understand where certain files are located. Otherwise, how can you look for them later? The abundance of cloud drives is annoying, tiring, and not suitable for everyone.

If you look around, you can remember that there are free cloud services in other mailboxes. Mail.ru mail has the Mail.ru Cloud.

Those who have registered a mail account are provided with 8 GB in the CloudMail. ru.

Google has a similar service. Availability is required, for example, [email protected].

Owners of Google mail are automatically given access to Google Drive, which has a capacity of 15 GB.

The advantage of options with multiple mailboxes and therefore multiple cloud drives is that they are free. But the other side of this coin is a lot of logins, passwords, and difficulty in finding the right file among different drives.

Emptying the Trash in Yandex.Disk

Let's see what Yandex can offer to increase disk space. The offers include paid and free ones. First, you can check the status of the recycle bin in Drive.

Files that a user deletes from his Yandex.Disk first go to the trash can. They also take up space there. To free up disk space, the first step is to empty the Recycle Bin.

To delete a file from the Recycle Bin, you can right-click on it once. A menu will appear in which we click “Delete”.

To delete multiple files, you need to select them. If the files are in a row one after another, then while holding down the Shift key, you need to click on each file. If the files in the folder are scattered, then you need to hold down the Ctrl key and simultaneously click on the necessary files.

Then right-click on the selected files and click “Delete” in the menu that appears.

You can simply click on the “Empty Trash” button (Fig. 4). Then all files will be permanently deleted from Yandex.Disk.

Promo code, certificate

A certificate or promotional code can be received as a gift from Yandex for participating in a conference, or in any competition, or as a reward for help.

Yandex shares

Yandex holds joint promotions with its partners, which offer various options for increasing Disk space. For example, there are shares jointly with Internet providers Rostelecom and OnLime, each of them has their own shares.

Stocks change, some disappear, others appear. At one time, Yandex’s good idea was the “32 GB for mobile auto-upload” promotion, which ran from April 3, 2017 to July 3, 2017. As part of this promotion, you were required to download at least one photo or video to your mobile phone. In return, it was provided free of charge and forever.

The methods listed above are free, but not the simplest, and are not suitable for everyone.

Buying space on Yandex.Disk

As (Fig. 2), in your Yandex.Disk, in the lower left corner you can see how much space is left free, and also find a link to purchase additional space. To increase the volume of Yandex.Disk using a paid method, you can log into your Drive and follow the link:

What's included in the subscription? You can buy 100 Gigabytes or 1 Terabyte. Disk space of 1 Terabyte is equal to ten packages of 100 Gigabytes: 10 packages times 100 GB = 1 TB.

You can pay for space in a Yandex disk for a month or for a year at once. When paying for a year, payment per month will be cheaper compared to payment per month, but the amount will be needed more - for the whole year at once.

For holidays there may be discounts on payment. For example, during the May holidays of 2019, Yandex.Mail received a letter about a discount on disk payment:

Where to store files: in the Cloud or on an external hard drive?

An external hard drive of 1 terabyte costs about 3,000 rubles.

On Yandex.Disk, 1 terabyte costs 2,000 rubles.

The advantage is that it belongs to the person who bought it. But the serviceability of such a disk may not last forever for technical and other reasons.

The advantages of cloud Drive include the fact that files can be accessed on any device with Internet access: laptop, computer, phone, tablet. The disadvantages of the cloud are its limited volume, and also that the user depends on the decisions of the owners of Yandex.Disk. This solution may include closing Disk.

For example, at the beginning of 2013 it was closed. Of course, users are given some time to save files, but it is limited. However, for example, in June 2019, that is, 6 years after stopping work, a lady asked me how she could find her files on a file sharing service...

What can be concluded? For important personal files that cannot be found on the Internet (family album, photos of children, scans of documents, etc.), you must have a copy on an external hard drive, or on a flash drive or other storage device that belongs personally to the user. The cloud is good, but a copy on your own media is necessary.

Hi all! Today I would like to tell you several ways to increase the size of your Yandex disk for free and for money. Cloud technologies have long burst into our lives and become an integral part of it, leaving CDs and even flash drives far behind. After all, with the help of it we can. Unfortunately, Yandex gives only 10 gigabytes of disk space for free. For many, this volume may be quite enough (I still haven’t used it up, although I have much more space), but it’s still better to have more of this space.

Method 1. Buying space

The simplest and most likely method is to purchase, or rather rent, additional memory. Yes, many are suffocated by the idea of buying extra gigabytes on cloud space, and not forever. But if you use this service constantly, the price will not be that high, especially if you take it for a year at once.

If you take the average tariff, then you will have to pay only 80 rubles for a month of use (most people spend this money on a pack of cigarettes or a bottle of beer), or you can pay 800 rubles at once (2 months as a gift) and use it for a whole year without strain.

And when the validity period expires, no one will delete the information that takes up more than 10 free gigabytes. It's just that you won't be able to write anything else, and deleting files won't free up any additional space until you go below the 10 gigabyte bar.

So essentially, you can get 100 and 1000 gigabytes forever for just 80 or 200 rubles. To do this, just take any tariff for a month and during this time fill it to capacity, for example with photographs, videos, etc. True, after this it will be available purely as storage, because after the end of the period you will no longer be able to add anything, even if you delete what you had.

In order to increase the volume on Yandex disk, go to the service itself and in the left column of the menu click on the “Buy space” button. Then, simply select the desired tariff and pay for it using a bank card or Yandex money.

Method 2. Promotions

From time to time, Yandex runs various promotions, thanks to which you can get additional gigabytes of cloud space forever and free of charge. Not so long ago, for example, teachers and students were given 32 GB free forever. It was enough just to take a scan or photo from the center page of your student card or pass.

Also, there was a promotion when, in order to get the same 32 gigabytes, it was enough to enable auto-uploading of photos from your mobile phone to Yandex disk. Moreover, it could then be turned off and not used at all. Personally, this is how I got my additional 32 gigabytes. But, unfortunately, such a feature was available only at the very beginning of the journey.

Sometimes the promotion includes the purchase of any devices such as tablets, laptops, smartphones or flash drives. And Yandex gives you 50, 100 and even 250 gigabytes forever for this. You just need to constantly monitor the shares, otherwise you can miss them.

Unfortunately, the last promotion that was relevant ended in December 2017, and there were no new ones in 2018. But this does not mean that there will be no more of them. Just remember to watch the news.

Method 3. Certificates

There is another very interesting method, namely some mythical Yandex certificates with a certain denomination, which you can activate and get disk space according to the denomination listed. But there is one problem. It is so mythical that after going through the Internet, I have not met anyone who possesses this wonderful thing. It seems to me that the Holy Grenade of Antiochus in the game Fallout 2 was easier to find than to get this damn certificate (those who played will understand, and those who haven’t played, I inform you that the chance of finding a grenade is 0.001%).

Even the Yandex disk manual itself clearly states that with the help of certificates you can get additional space on the cloud by sending your login and its code. But damn, you sent activation instructions, but didn’t give the simplest information about what it’s for? In general, if anyone has information about this thing, be sure to share it in the comments.

Method 4. Multi-accounts

Naturally, the easiest way to expand your volume for free is to create several accounts at once. Yandex mail is created for free and on each such account you will find 10 free gigabytes. Moreover, it is not necessary to link them to a mobile phone. But these are, perhaps, all the amenities and advantages that await you. The disadvantages of this method include the following:

Inconvenient switching between accounts. That is, you will always have to enter your username and password to go to one or another profile.
Inconvenient synchronization on a computer.
Using a mobile application. Essentially, you will again have to log out of your account to log into another one.
Confusion. Having many profiles, you can easily get confused about what is on which disk.

Method 5. Gifts

Personally, I wouldn’t particularly “roll my lip” over this method. Yes, sometimes it happens that the administration of a corporation rewards its users with additional disk space, for example, for active use, as forgiveness for periodic failures, or they give several gigabytes of free space in honor of the birthday of a post office or company.

For example, I received a letter, thanks to which my disk became unlimited for photos and videos that were automatically downloaded from my mobile phone. That is, now, in fact, I can store an infinite number of photos, and my space will not even decrease.

But as a rule, such gifts happen much less often than ongoing promotions, and even all these gigabytes will be valid only temporarily, and not forever. And the only way to save them is to hammer them tightly and not remove anything from there. But this is, of course, nonsense. Still, we want to use a full-fledged service, and not just a file warehouse.

As you can see, increasing the size of your Yandex disk for free and forever is not an easy task, and it’s not easy to do. Therefore, if this is not enough for you, then it is better to use the mail cloud. There, on each account you are given 25 gigabytes of disk space for free. I'm very glad I registered it as soon as it came out and now I have a whole terabyte (1000 GB) of disk space.
