Thoughts on installing a USB type-C socket.
I've had this idea for a long time. Over the past years, I have replaced about eight USB sockets in my pockets from Zalaman, so the idea did not come out of nowhere. A type-C socket and a USB 3.0 Type A to Type-C cable were purchased. This was not easy, since (according to numerous reviews) such cables were electrically connected using the USB 2.0 protocol. I had to buy a relatively expensive Nillkin elite cable one meter long from a local store (with a return guarantee). I checked it in the cable test and it showed .
The socket fits perfectly into the pocket body in place of an optional button or instead of the old socket. I didn’t immediately hack the board, but soldered it to the ZM-VE300 (this was a long time ago, before I bought the version from iODD, so there are no photos). I provide the connection diagram below. 
Why did I abandon this idea after purchasing the device under review?
Reason one
To begin with, simply replacing microUSB with type-C is a half-hearted solution in the literal sense. In the previous picture I indicated the reason in the form of yellow contacts. In type-C you can register up to two independent USB 3.0 interfaces. The contacts I use are on one side; when connected with the mirror side, all contacts go to the second interface. Technically, you can connect the interfaces in parallel, although then the type-C – type-C cable may not understand the thing. Officially, together with the type-C interface, you need to use service controllers that will recognize the device type, sort out the power supply, and switch the interfaces. Reason two
The pocket in question has a high-quality socket and a thin, soft and long cable. I don’t think that in this case you can worry about the reliability of the connection.

Firmware change
It is possible to change the firmware from zalman to a more current version from iODD. We are talking only about VE300 > 2531 and VE400 > 2541. There is no talk about new versions of Zalman, at least I haven’t found one.

Experience has shown that the reliability of the panel's response greatly depends on the tightness and uniformity of the fit to the body, and the composition of the adhesive can interfere with the operation of the sensor.
USB type-C
Officially, you need a MUXer to switch signals and identify the device type. Unofficially, you can try this if you limit yourself to a USB-A to USB-type-C cable.
It turns out that to get all the goodies, you just need to reflash Zalman to the latest version of iODD. Buy a convenient cable from Samsung and get some red fabric for the old case.

Error 15- Bad sectors have been detected on the disk.
Error 23- the file system is damaged, you need to run a disk check.
1st Partition: 0 > Partition is not set- the disk is not partitioned or the file system of the first partition does not match the firmware type.
1st Partition: 5 > ZM-VE200 Hard Disk have extended partition- the hard drive contains an extended partition. Format it according to the firmware type.
1st Partition: 6 > ZM-VE200 Hard Disk is formatted as FAT- the partition is formatted in FAT (not FAT32). Format it according to the firmware type.
1st Partition: 7 > ZM-VE200 Hard disk is formatted as NTFS- FAT firmware does not support NTFS. Format the partition to FAT32 or exFAT.
1st Partition: C > ZM-VE200 Hard Disk is formatted as FAT32- NTFS firmware does not support FAT32. Format the partition to NTFS.
1st Partition: F > Extended partition- logical and extended partitions are not supported, create a partition as the main one.
1st Partition: FF > ZM-VE200 Hard Disk is formatted as exFAT- this firmware does not support exFAT. Format the partition to NTFS.
