The SOS button is always on guard. "Hello, SOS!" Avtomalinovka was not afraid to press the “panic button” How to install the Era-Glonass system

A special emergency response service is aimed primarily at older people. The main advantages are an integrated approach, ease of use for the user and professionalism of those receiving the alarm call.

The “Life Button” project was developed by Skolkovo business school graduates Dmitry Yurchenko and Irina Linnik. In 2011, he became the winner of the special nomination BIT (“Business of Innovative Technologies”) within the framework of the “Telecom Idea” competition established by MTS. The project has developed into an independent business, with which MTS cooperates as a partner. Currently, the Life Button users are about ten thousand subscribers in the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and Leningrad region, the republics of Bashkiria and Tatarstan, Novosibirsk, Volgograd and Perm. Project website.

On April 15, Mobile TeleSystems OJSC and Life Button LLC signed a memorandum on joint implementation of the project on a federal scale. As part of the cooperation, it is planned to expand the geography of the “Life Button” project and actively distribute specialized devices through regional social organizations for remote monitoring of representatives of the older generation who need constant care.

How it works

To connect to the “Life Button” service, two types of devices can be used: a device installed in the house with a GSM module or a specially equipped Just5 mobile phone model CP09. The phone with large buttons and large text on the screen is equipped with an SOS alarm button, which provides a quick call to the 24-hour dispatch service. The device can also be used as a regular mobile phone. The device also has a remote location system based on LBS mobile technology. In the event of an emergency call, the system determines where the signal was sent from, which allows you to quickly send the necessary help there.

As a bonus, when ordering a phone you can choose any color you like. The Just5 CP09 phone model cannot be called new; since its appearance in 2009 (if I’m not mistaken), the following two modifications, Just5 CP10 and Just5 CP11, have already been released. I don't know about newer models. Just5 СP11, of course, is more interesting with its large retractable display, but Just5 СP09 copes well with its main task.

A stationary home device is intended for people who do not leave their home. Equipped with a speakerphone system and an emergency call button.

The stationary device also comes with a phone and a pendant with a fall sensor. The pendant reacts to a person’s movements and, in the event of sudden changes, independently sends an alarm signal to the “Life Button” support center. The hands-free feedback function allows the operator to find out if everything is okay with the person and, if necessary, send help. In addition, the system can be supplemented with sensors for water, smoke and gas leaks in the room.

According to statistics provided by the company, 33% of people over 60 fall at least once a year, with half of the falls resulting in serious injury. The pendant is said to reliably react to the wearer's fall or impact and automatically connect to the support center.

The important thing is that a doctor is on duty at the contact center around the clock and takes alarm calls. When registering in the system, an individual user card is filled out with contact numbers of family members and other important information, including data on specific diseases and the general health of the user. Thus, the number of “intermediate authorities” for the victim is reduced to zero: the doctor immediately assesses the level of threat and independently contacts relatives and the necessary rapid response service. Plus, having detailed information about diseases, possible allergies to certain drugs, etc. will allow doctors to provide assistance more effectively.

Mobile positioning eliminates the problem of finding a victim and the need to find out details from a person who may have difficulty speaking. With such an integrated approach and ease of use for the user, the system compares favorably with other options that people independently organize for their elderly relatives based on the same or similar phones with an SOS button.

Alternatives

With SOS phones and the function of automatic “circular” dialing to the given numbers of relatives, everything is clear. This is an order of magnitude better than nothing at all or a regular telephone, which a person may not be able to use in certain circumstances. It doesn’t hurt to take care of connecting to the mobile positioning service in advance either.

The state "System-112" as a unified duty dispatch service (EDDS) at the federal level is slowly being created and will coordinate and control the work of emergency services of firefighters, police, ambulance, emergency gas service, and rescuers. The Ministry of Emergency Situations is also working in this direction, including creating special applications for smartphones; I wrote about this not long ago. All this is necessary and may even come true in the coming years. Just when and how effectively will it work?

In any case, some multi-stage response will remain, and the loss of precious time cannot be avoided. In this sense, the “Life Button” is much more effective due to its “tailoredness” to solving the problem of helping a specific person and the presence of all the necessary tools “at hand.”

Additional services

The coordinates of a moving person are continuously monitored, and relatives have the opportunity to call the contact center and find out where the person is, this is important. For an additional fee, they offer the “Check Call” service (a daily check call to find out if everything is in order) and the service of an employee visiting the home; for this, the keys to the “ward’s” apartment must be deposited with the service.

Today, fashionable gadgets not only emphasize the style of their owners, but also make people's lives safer.

Using mobile devices, you can call rescue services anywhere in the country and inform them of the location of the victim.

All this is possible thanks to the SOS button, which is increasingly appearing in new gadgets.

This new product is designed so that the owner of the gadget can simply and quickly sound an alarm in any extreme situation when he or another person needs help.

Today, such a button can be seen in many mobile devices: phones, GPS trackers, bracelets, watches and pendants that we always carry with us.

At the same time, they look modern and fashionable. Before reviewing these devices, let's understand the principle of operation of the SOS button.

Thanks to the SOS button, the subscriber does not even need to dial “112” and explain to the operator the reason for the call. This can save a person’s life when he has no connection or is physically unable to reach the required number.

In an emergency, use GPS tracker with SOS button, just press the panic button and hold it for a few seconds, after which the signal will immediately go to the emergency service dispatcher and several relatives and friends whose contacts have been entered into the gadget.

Along with the alarm signal, the coordinates where the victim is located are transmitted to telephone numbers stored in the tracker’s memory using satellite signals. This facilitates rapid response of services and provision of timely assistance.

Mobile phones, watches, bracelets and pendants equipped with an SOS button work on the same principle.

In some gadgets, when you press the panic button, a loud siren is activated. This allows you to attract the attention of people who may be nearby and provide first aid until rescue services arrive.

Review of gadgets with COC button

The stores offer an abundance of various devices equipped with a panic button; let’s consider the most optimal options:

  • Mobile phone with COC button Just 5
  • Bracelet Astra-R RPD

This is a radio transmitting device in the form of a stylish bracelet. The SOS button will allow people in emergency situations and people with limited communication and mobility capabilities to quickly send an emergency message.

When the button is turned on, the alarm signal is transmitted to the GSM alarm module, through which emergency services and relatives are notified via mobile communications.

To prevent false alarms, you can turn off the alert for 5 minutes.

  • GPS pendant T-01

A universal gadget designed to call emergency help and track the location of its owner using geolocation. Equipped with a fall sensor, which at the first sign of a fall automatically transmits an alarm signal to the numbers specified in the gadget. In operating mode, it can work without recharging for about 5 days.

Technological innovations such as the SOS button allow people to use gadgets not only to take photos for social networks or compete with friends whose device is more stylish, expensive, powerful and new.

Today, thanks to gadgets, we can save our own or someone else’s life in a dangerous situation when a person’s fate can be decided in a matter of seconds.

It is generally accepted that gadgets are the sphere of interest of young people, and people of advanced age do not need “this Internet of yours.” In fact, they are still needed, and sometimes absolutely necessary. Smart devices created specifically for the elderly can provide assistance and even save the life of your loved one when he is left alone.

Some time ago we wrote about. These are not the only devices that are equipped with such a system. Emergency rescue buttons for the elderly are available in the form of bracelets, pendants, watches, key fobs, stationary modules and mobile applications, and their operation is ensured by special services. Today we will talk about them.

The service supports connecting any mobile phones and other devices equipped with SOS buttons.

“System Care” operates in 12 regions of the Russian Federation, which includes the Leningrad, Novgorod, Pskov regions and separately the cities of St. Petersburg, Moscow and Ufa. The cost and range of services may vary in different regions and cities.

Mobile rescuer of the Ministry of Emergency Situations

Free application for smartphones " Mobile rescuer» developed by order of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. It is intended to notify rescue services and the user’s loved ones about the latter’s need for immediate assistance.

The “Mobile Rescuer” interface is designed for the least experienced, which are many elderly people. Essentially, this is one large on-screen SOS button, a 5-second press of which sends a message to the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and to saved phone numbers. After pressing SOS, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees call the applicant and clarify what kind of help he needs.

In addition, the application determines the user’s coordinates and transmits them to the rescue service and loved ones.

Gadgets with panic buttons for the elderly

Now let's get acquainted with universal Russian-made devices that can be connected to domestic GPS/GLONASS monitoring services, local security systems, or used only for emergency notification of loved ones.

GSM keychain "Siberian Arsenal"

The device with a carabiner for keys and three small buttons is designed to be carried in a pocket or bag. It does not have a separate SOS button, but it can be any of the three: what will happen when pressed is determined by the owner. To set up the gadget, an elderly person will need a mobile phone and the help of a loved one.

Supported functions of pressing GSM key fob buttons:

  • Alarm signal (SOS).
  • Testing the functionality of the device.
  • Sending a message to specified numbers.
  • Information about the balance on the SIM card.
  • Hardware testing.
  • Informing the security service about an emergency event.

The cost of the device is 5350-5500 rubles.

Radio channel bracelet Astra-R RPD

The peculiarity of this simple-looking device is that it works without a SIM card, which is indispensable in conditions where there is no cellular connection, for example, far from the city. The radio signal range of the bracelet is up to 150 meters. In addition, it does not need to be recharged, as it is equipped with a simple replaceable battery that lasts about 1.5 years.

To ensure the operation of the device, you need a stationary radio transmitting controller and an Astra-R relay, which are not included in the delivery package. The cost of one bracelet in Russian stores is approximately 1,100 rubles, and a set with a controller and relay is about 8,900-9,000 rubles.

Guardian SOS GSM-03

The “Guardian SOS GSM-03” set consists of stationary and mobile modules. The first is a small box for mounting on a wall, and the second is a bracelet similar to a wristwatch. Both devices are equipped with panic buttons. When pressed, the signal is transmitted to the specified phone numbers (maximum 5). After sending the message, the system dials the elderly user's relative, while simultaneously turning on the microphone on the devices so that the subscriber can hear what the person is in and what is happening next to him.

Additional features of the stationary system module:

  • Connecting sensors for gas leaks, smoke, water leaks, etc.
  • Connecting an external speakerphone.
  • Connecting a siren.
  • Autonomous operation up to 6 hours (during normal use it is powered by a 220 V network).

The cost of the set is 5100 rubles.

The domestic market can hardly be called rich in devices with emergency buttons for the elderly, but Chinese sites like Aliexpress successfully fill this gap. The choice there is huge, the prices are low, and the quality is high. Except that they don’t provide a guarantee, but that’s nitpicking.

However, before ordering goods of this class on foreign sites, it is important to make sure that their work is supported by Russian services, as well as the absence of “spyware” and prohibited functions. In particular, radio transmitting and receiving equipment that operates at frequencies above 9 kHz and means of secretly obtaining information cannot be imported into our country.

JUST 5 is a Chinese mobile phone, positioned as a device for the elderly and visually impaired, equipped with large buttons, the size of which is 13x14 mm.

You no longer need to rack your brains about what to give to your grandparents or visually impaired friends, because JUST 5 already offers a ready-made solution - an unstylish, but very convenient phone. Even taking a quick glance at the device, you can immediately notice its large keys. For this alone, JUST 5 will appeal to those people for whom it, strictly speaking, is intended.

With JUST Five you can send and receive SMS messages, it has a great, bright built-in flashlight, FM radio and a fairly loud speaker.

The back of JUST Five contains an SOS button. So, when a critical situation occurs, an elderly person can use the red button, and the phone will send an emergency SMS message asking to call back, or four numbers will be dialed, which relatives will enter into the phone in advance. The device makes three circles in auto-dialing mode, and usually during this time one of the subscribers answers, and the speakerphone is turned on so that you can talk with the person who needs help. Also, when you press the SOS button, a loud siren sounds, which attracts the attention of people around you. In the event that emergency call numbers are not installed, there is no SIM card, or the person is in roaming and the networks with which the mobile operator of the phone owner has a specific agreement are unavailable, but there are other networks of the GSM 900/1800/1900 standard, then there will be The number 112 is automatically dialed. This number contacts emergency services and is used by GSM networks around the world. Calls to this number are always free and if there is no SIM card in the phone, the call will still be made. The SOS function can be used even when the device is turned off.

The JUST Five mobile phone is equipped with increased volume and large buttons, which is quite natural, because it is primarily intended for elderly and visually impaired people who have limited hearing and visual abilities. The battery is quite capacious at 1000 mAh, its charge is enough for 8 hours of talk time (judging by the stated technical characteristics of the manufacturer), which means that the device can be used for 5-6 days without recharging, which is much more than many conventional devices. JUST 5 has protection against hearing aid interference and also has reduced radiation.

Main characteristics of the JUST 5 mobile phone:

Display:

— The character size on a large monochrome display is up to 9 mm. Orange lighting that lifts your mood

Phone book:

— 100 subscriber records in the phone memory

— 250 subscriber records in the SIM card memory

Additional features of the device:

— There is a built-in FM receiver that works without a headset, thanks to the built-in antenna, it automatically searches for radio stations, the power button is separate and is located on the side of the device on the right

- Timer that automatically turns off silent mode

- Alarm

- Calculator

Special buttons and switches:

— Speaker volume button

— Flashlight button

— FM radio button

— Buttons * and #, thanks to which you can quickly dial your favorite numbers; these buttons have icons in the form of a male and female face, which clearly shows whose numbers are written on these buttons. You can program the phone numbers of the father and mother on them if the phone is used by a child, daughter or son-in-law if the device is for an elderly person.

JUST 5 is hearing aid compatible.

IN complete set includes: the JUST 5 phone itself, battery, charger, headset and operating instructions for the phone.

The device gives the impression of an expensive phone. It is comfortable and fits well in the hand. Looking at the picture, it may seem that the phone is big, but in reality, and you will see this in the video review, it is not that big. JUST 5 has several color options (white, black, orange and red), but the white color seems to be the most pleasant and the impression remains that this is an Apple product, because it is not for nothing that it is called the “anti-iPhone”. But this is a purely subjective opinion. The volume is quite high. The keyboard has Russian and English layouts.

From disadvantages of the device I would like to note that:

— no choice of melodies;

— the instructions provided by the manufacturer are not detailed enough

— the radio button is accidentally pressed, and with the device set to high volume, this is fraught with fear, to say the least

— for an elderly person it will be difficult to switch the buttons located on the end the first time, for the simple reason that they are barely noticeable, and there, by the way, there is a keyboard lock button

This phone has excellent basic functionality. Despite the fact that there are no GPRS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G that are not very interesting to the older generation, at the same time there are things that are really useful for any person: a calculator, an alarm clock, FM radio, a flashlight. The menu on the phone is very basic. This device is suitable even for children as their first mobile phone. Any function of a mobile phone can be reached in no more than a few steps. Built-in economical LED flashlight. It is turned on with a separate button located on the side of the device. The light of the flashlight is bright, not diffused, but this hardly reflects on the battery.

And now I suggest you watch a video review that will demonstrate the functions and capabilities of the JUST Five phone with all its advantages and disadvantages:

Indeed, the JUST 5 mobile phone turned out to be a very convenient device to use for those who only need to make calls or correspond with SMS messages. Of course, the phone also contains several additional functions, and most likely they will not remain unused, because all people, regardless of age, use a flashlight, radio, and FM radio alarm clock. And large buttons are always welcome.

I would like to thank and note once again the KODAK company for providing the camera for filming - Kodak Playsport.

Most often, when we get into a serious accident, we need qualified help. But if the driver was seriously injured in an accident and cannot call for help on his own, then how to contact rescuers?

Beginning in 2015, a decision was made on the territory of the Russian Federation on the mandatory installation of an emergency response system in case of accidents. To start working with this system, you need to press the “SOS” button on the dashboard and wait for the operator to respond. This button is located close to the driver so that he can easily reach it in an emergency.

It is very difficult to confuse the SOS button with any other button, since it most often has bright red colors, an image of a telephone handset and the characteristic “SOS” inscription.

How the GLONASS button works

The main goal and task of this security system is to save the maximum number of lives of people who suffered as a result of an accident.

One of the most important advantages of the SOS button is its response to strong impacts of the car on the sides, rear and front, as well as to car rollovers. In this case, even if the driver has lost consciousness, the operators will determine the location of the car and send assistance to the scene of the accident.

The SOS button in a car is very easy to use:

  1. Communication with the dispatcher is established by pressing a button or by the response of sensors to strong impacts from vehicles, when airbags are deployed.
  2. This system contains a navigation module that transmits your location to the help center with an accuracy of 15 meters.
  3. As a result of a strong blow, communication is established by the operator, and the call is accepted automatically. Regardless of whether the driver confirms the fact of the accident or is unable to answer, an ambulance squad and the traffic police are sent to him. The arrival time of medical assistance should be no more than 20 minutes.
  4. Even if the driver does not answer the operator’s questions, help is sent to the latter.

The SOS button has:

  • A SIM card that does not require payment when calling the rescue service;
  • microphone and speaker that help the driver and dispatcher communicate;
  • a navigation module that transmits data about the vehicle’s location to the help center;
  • an enhanced antenna for signal reception is installed to ensure better call quality in places where cellular communication is poor;
  • 3G modem that transmits additional information about the accident.

But the ERA-GLONASS system has one drawback: it only works on those sections of the road where there is mobile communication. Also, the system will start working 1 minute after the accident with the ignition on. Without ignition, the button will work for another minute.

What information does the system capture?

Since it can turn on independently in necessary situations, to provide proper assistance it is necessary to know some parameters of the damaged vehicle. In the event that the vehicle owner cannot provide this data, the system independently transmits it to the dispatcher:

  1. Vehicle location.
  2. Number of passengers. To do this, it is necessary that each passenger wear a seat belt, since the system counts the number of people by the number of belts fastened.
  3. Technical side of the accident: overload parameters and the last maximum speed before the accident.
  4. Additional basic information: car number, model, color and type of fuel (gas or gasoline).

Some people are suspicious of such systems that read their location and send data to some centers. But, firstly, the ERA-GLONASS system does not constantly “monitor” you, but only when the shock sensors are triggered and force the navigation system to turn on and send data so that specialized help can come to you. Secondly, it’s worth thinking about the fact that if this system doesn’t “monitor” you around the clock, then maybe you should put aside your worries and understand that ERA-GLONASS can save your life when no one nearby refuses.

Is it necessary to install a button in 2018?

On January 1, 2017, a new requirement was introduced in Russia, according to which, from this date, all new cars must be equipped with the ERA-GLONASS system.

If your car falls under the following parameters, then it must already be equipped with a security system or you must install it yourself:

  • a foreign-made vehicle imported into Russia if it was manufactured after 2017;
  • a domestically produced vehicle with a year of manufacture after 2017;
  • used vehicles imported into the Russian Federation from January 1, 2017, if less than 30 years have passed since the year of their manufacture;
  • vehicles that have undergone vehicle type approval for compliance with technical requirements must be equipped with the system from January 1, 2015;
  • vehicles used to transport passengers, dangerous and harmful goods, as well as household and garbage waste must be equipped with the system from January 1, 2016.

If you purchased a car that, in accordance with the new rule, must be equipped with the ERA-GLONASS system, but for some reason it is missing, then you will not be issued a PTS until the required device is installed.

How to install the ERA-GLONASS system?

You won’t be able to install the help button yourself, even if you are an excellent auto mechanic with a lot of experience behind you. Since installing this system requires not only knowledge of the technical side of the process, but also the presence of licensed authority.

System installation includes the following steps:

  1. Installation of an emergency response system module in case of accidents.
  2. Installing the SOS button.
  3. Connecting the installed equipment to the vehicle system and to the help center.
  4. Configuring installed devices.
  5. The final stage is testing the installed ERA-GLONASS system.

If the driver cannot install the required system due to lack of authority, then where should he go? There are three options for authorized persons to install ERA-GLONASS:

  1. Car manufacturer. Some cars are already produced with a built-in security system, and such a car will cost more than its counterpart, but without the installed equipment.
  2. Car sales dealer.
  3. Authorized legal entities or individual entrepreneurs. Before you give your car to install the system, make sure that this organization has the right to do this kind of action by asking for a license.

Installation cost

One of the factors of interest to drivers when installing an SOS button is the price. There is no strictly established amount, since the price depends on the type and quality of the system being installed and the type of your car. It is also worth remembering that prices may vary depending on where you live and the company you choose to install the system.

There are two installation options:

  • simpler and cheaper. This option will cost around 25–30 thousand rubles and is a minimum set of panic buttons.
  • more expensive and better quality. This option will cost from 70 to 80 thousand rubles, but it will justify its price in a vital situation. In the event of a severe accident, the button will work itself and do everything to save your life.

This period includes not only the system kit itself, but also the necessary certificates, as well as the work of the craftsmen.

But you shouldn’t think that if you can’t afford the “more expensive and better quality” option, then it’s better not to spend money on this idea at all. No! It is worth installing even a minimal set of panic buttons, since it is also aimed at helping you.

There are no penalties for the absence of an emergency response system for personal use vehicles. If you are an individual entrepreneur or a legal entity and your commercial vehicles are not equipped with the ERA-GLONASS system, then for this violation you may be subject to an administrative fine of 50,000 rubles.

Conclusion
