The first day of testing has passed on the "Sandbox" server, in which ordinary players from different countries the world, as well as streamers, players of large gaming communities, journalists of gaming portals, including us. The impressions of the first changes, the smallest of those that will be made in the future, are quite pleasant and we can say for sure that the game will become different.
The game will not completely change externally, namely in its mechanics and gameplay. Old-timers who played the game more than 4 years ago will see part of the game as it was at the beginning. We will tell you more about this and how to get to the Sandbox test server.
World of Tanks Balance 2.0. The disappearance of “gold shells” for silver. The mice are back.
It’s too early to talk about balance, because only Tier 10 vehicles and Tier 8 light tanks were available to everyone, although Britain’s heavy tank, the FV215b, has disappeared somewhere. Perhaps they want to introduce a replacement for it or add a little balance before giving it to the test. There are really two things that will change the balance of the game for sure:
- All “gold” shells will no longer be sold for in-game silver. Only for in-game gold.
- The “gold shells” were removed from all artillery, leaving only simple landmines to be used. More details about this change will be given below.
First, this is perhaps the most important, because in last times in random battles, not to mention command, company, battles on the main battery and for fortified areas, many people began to shoot with gold shells, sometimes even at tanks that were clearly of a lower level and practically unarmored, in order to fill up their statistics to show off their “skill.” Now this will not be the case, which means that heavily armored tanks will be able to return to service, which will especially please those who have a Mouse in their hangar.
The price for each projectile depends on the type of equipment, caliber and type of projectile (this system is not final). On this moment the price ranges from 10 to 20 gold per shell. The most expensive, for 20 gold, are the British top tank destroyers, then the Jagdpanzer E 100 (17 gold). You can see the cost table below.

Artillery feature "Contusion".

The damage of almost all level 10 self-propelled guns jumps from 200 to 500, and even with a direct hit it is almost impossible to kill an entire tank. But now artillery is capable of concussing tanks to varying degrees, depending on the thickness of the vehicle’s armor and how close the shell hit the tank.
Concussion can last from 15 seconds to 35, it does not completely paralyze the tank, but it significantly worsens its combat effectiveness. For example, playing on a fast medium tank, you circle around a heavy one and then get a concussion from an enemy self-propelled gun, which is why your mobility drops and the tank manages to turn around to hit you.

This is the senior sandbox. There are more experienced players here than in the younger one. The most important advantage of the sandbox is the presence of armor, it continues to work. At these levels the artillery is much weaker than at the top ones.There are also many unbalanced machines here. We all know about the legendary KV-1S and M18 Hallcat.
