How to clone an intercom key. Making a duplicate of an intercom key using a copier is simple and affordable

Good afternoon Somehow I got tired of paying 150 rubles for a copy of the intercom key and decided to build a simple, budget iButton duplicator on Arduino. The prices for such ready-made devices are steep, although they have wider functionality and copy almost everything, including wireless dongles. Simply copying the iButton key a la “button” is enough for me. Interesting? Please use “cut”!

So let's get started! To begin with, “technical specifications”, what should this device be able to do?:
1) Read the contents of the key, I wonder what is hardwired there.
2) Copy the keys, no matter how strange it sounds :)
3) Flash the “universal” key. By the word “universal” we mean any of your own keys, which will be recorded by default.

UPD. Very important! If the first byte, family code, is 00 , For example 00 :12:34:56:AB:CD:EF: A.A., then after the firmware the key will “die”, it will not be read by this programmer, and possibly by others. Revealed empirically, thanks to friend 16: AB: CD: EF: E0 with naturally incorrect checksum E0. Since the checksum is incorrect, the intercom ignores this sequence when reading. This intercom ruined all the rewritable keys while I was figuring out what was going on and why the data in the keys changed “by themselves.” As a result, it was not possible to make a duplicate for this intercom; I had to go to a service organization and order a key for 100 rubles. :)

As a result, we get something useful in the household for ridiculous money, they sell “blanks” for recording, although here you can find them offline for 30 rubles apiece, and from copiers on the market for 100 - 150 rubles :).
UPD. Read about what types of keys can be recorded with this duplicator. Thank you for your help, comrade.

Good day to all!
I would like to present to your attention a duplicator (copier) of intercom keys.
The copier can read/write to a key fob or card.
I have long wanted to try an inexpensive device for copying intercom keys. And now this moment has come, so let's get started.

The order arrived in 3 weeks.

Intercom keys. A small educational program.

The keys are:

  • Contact. Official name Touch memory (abbr. TM) or iButton
(i.e. they must be applied to the reader)
These include:

Dallas.

In most cases, TM refers to a Dallas family key (for example, DS1990A). Many devices work with these keys: Vizit, Eltis, Z-5R, S2000-2, etc.

Cyfral.

These intercoms only work with DC2000A and Tsifral-KP1 keys.

Metakom.

K1233KT2 keys have been developed for these intercoms. These keys are also suitable for many other controllers.

Resistive.

There are exotic intercoms that work with resistive keys. Instead of a code, resistance is read from them. Without a doubt, these are contact keys, but I would not call them Touch memory.
  • Contactless. The official name is RFID.
(they just need to be brought to the reader at a distance of 2-3 cm).

Available in the form of cards, key rings, bracelets, etc. Common names are “cards” and “droplets” (key rings). Keys operating up to 10-15 cm are called Proximity (short-range), and keys operating up to 1 m are called Vicinity (long-range). Intercoms use exclusively Proximity keys, and this term has become almost synonymous with “contactless key”.

In the world of Proximity there is also no unity of formats:

EM-Marin

the most popular format today.

HID

elder among contactless keys.

MIFARE

promising format. This includes contactless smart cards.

This device is intended EXCLUSIVELY for copying contactless keys with a frequency of 125KHz.
No other keys can be copied.

Bottom line.

Everything works great. If you need to make several copies of RFID 125KHz keys, you can safely buy them, especially since the set includes 6 key fobs and 6 cards, and the average price for one copy is 100 rubles, the benefits are obvious. If you run out of keychains or cards on the Internet, you can buy them for around 20 rubles.
Before purchasing this device, I recommend finding out the frequency and type of your key, otherwise you will be throwing money away.

A simple effective duplicator of intercom electronic keys with a working circuit is considered. The video demonstrates the finished assembly and testing in operation.

There are a lot of good schemes for this function on the Internet, but, firstly, they are complex, and secondly, not all of them work. The author of this video tutorial first tried to assemble a key duplicator using an Arduino construction kit, but for some reason it didn’t work out, so he made a simpler, but fully working device for those who deal with issues related to installing intercoms.

Factory duplicators are available for sale, for example, RFID. But they are quite expensive, and for those who do not intend to work on this device constantly, there is no point in purchasing them. After all, it’s not every day that amateurs need to duplicate keys for an intercom. The master himself decided to make a simple copy machine to expand his horizons.

Features of a simple copier for intercom keys

Many blanks were purchased on AliExpress, they are inexpensive. A simple circuit for such a duplicator was found that can be assembled in literally 5 minutes. The blanks were purchased from this Chinese store; they also have the programmer needed for the device to work.

The basis or heart of this copier is a microcontroller.

628, 648 or 88 will do. Naturally, if you just assemble the device, it will not work. It is necessary to write a program into this microcontroller. To do this, you will need a programmer that connects to the computer for firmware. You can find instructions for using the programmer on the Internet. It costs 10-15 dollars. Any novice radio amateur will be able to use this microcontroller and also repeat this duplicator circuit.

As you can see in the diagram and photo, there are 3 LEDs in the circuit - red, yellow and green.

The red LED lights up when there is power in the system itself; Yellow lights up when it is in key reading mode. And green lights up when the key recording or duplication was successful. The LEDs blink when the workpiece is one-time, non-writable. All blanks purchased on AliExpress are rewritable.

The entire circuit is powered by 5 Volts. A 5 volt stabilizer was installed in this design, so that when a voltage is supplied from 5 to 9 volts, it always has only 5 volts at the output. The key duplicator itself is powered by 5 Volts.

Let's turn it on and see how this device works. Turn on the power supply. All the LEDs light up, which means the device has booted.

We apply the copied key, the indicator shows reading. There is a button to duplicate this key. We apply a clean workpiece; the LED shows that duplication has occurred. For the experiment, the elevator key was copied and tested. The result is positive, the do-it-yourself duplicator works great.

Second part (video starts).

Scheme and discussion on the forum of this duplicate.

Elements of the KeyCopy Pro program interface that are directly used when working with keys are located in the tab Working with keys. The duplicator must be connected with a USB cable to the computer, and also be connected in the program.

Reading keys

The duplicator must be in program mode. Switch the duplicator to key reading mode by pressing the buttons Reading or Reset.

Attach the key to the duplicator reader. After reading, the duplicator will emit a sound signal and in the field Key code Information containing the key code and its format will be displayed.

Contactless proxy cards and key fobs should be applied to the middle of the back wall of the duplicator case.

In different situations, when reading keys, the following can also happen:

  • Switching the program to recording mode when the function is enabled Write after read in the program settings;
  • Adding the read key to the program database when the function is enabled Add the read key to the database in the program settings;
  • The following message will appear in the Key Code field: CRC error when reading a Dallas key with an incorrect checksum (for example, an empty blank with the FF code);
  • In the Key Code field, information will appear about the presence of additional memory when reading Dallas DS1992L, DS1993L, DS1996L keys;

Recording keys

If the option is selected When reading the key, switch to writing, the duplicator will enter recording mode automatically, if not, then press the button Record. A hint about blank keys suitable for copying the current key will be displayed in the help information field, and the code and type of the key will be displayed on the duplicator display.

If necessary, enable finalization, RFID password, or select a workpiece type. Supported blanks for the corresponding types of original keys are shown in the table:

After this, attach the blank key to the reader. If recording is successful, the duplicator will emit a sound signal and the type of blank used and the number of recorded keys will be displayed in the help information field.

When recording Cyfral and Metakom keys, you must select the type of workpiece using the “Select workpiece” button or the “Up” and “Down” buttons on the duplicator.

If the operating conditions are not followed, the workpieces may fail.

Creating multiple copies from one original key

To make several copies, you need to copy one key, and then, without leaving the recording mode, alternately apply other blank keys to the reader. After recording each blank, the duplicator will emit a sound signal and the type of blank used and the number of recorded keys will be displayed in the help information field.

Creating copies from several original keys

To make copies from several original keys, before copying the next original key, switch the duplicator to the key reading mode by pressing the button Reset(or Reading) or button Back on the duplicator.

RFID finalization and password functions

The finalization function is designed to block the possibility of rewriting a workpiece. In some cases, finalizing the key allows you to pass filters installed in intercoms.

The password recording function allows you to repeatedly rewrite the key on a given device, while other devices will perceive it as finalized. The password for each device is unique. If necessary, the password can be changed in the device settings: “Settings” - “Secure section” - “RFID Password” or in the “Settings” tab of the program.

To enable the finalization function (Dallas, EM-Marine, HID, Indala formats) or password (EM-Marine, HID, Indala formats), when recording keys, press the button Recording functions or buttons Up or Down on the duplicator. After reading the key, the finalization and password functions are disabled.

To remove the password from the T5 workpiece, write any code to the workpiece without a password.

Overwriting blanks

In some cases, it is possible to re-record blanks with an already recorded code:

  • It is impossible to rewrite the code to the original key or OTP blank;
  • Blanks KS-3TM, TM08viF, T5557, EM4305, i57v2 can be overwritten if they have not been finalized;
  • Blanks KS-4TM, RW1990.2, KS-07, KS-07Ts, RW057, RW15, TM-01A, TM-01C can always be rewritten;
  • The KS-7TM blank can always be rewritten, but when rewriting it must be kept attached to the contactor for 15...20 seconds until the successful recording signal appears;
  • The TM-01 blank is always finalized when recording in Cyfral and Metakom modes. TM-01C and TM-01A blanks can be overwritten or returned to their original state using the “Erase” function in the duplicator main menu;
  • T5557 and EM4305 workpieces with a password set can be overwritten only if the device password matches the password set on the workpiece.

Setting electrical parameters of workpieces

The RW15 and TM-01A blanks have the ability to change their electrical parameters in the Cyfral and Metakom modes: the level of current consumed by the blank and the code output speed. Changing these parameters allows you to give the workpiece characteristics that best match the specific original key. Adjustment of electrical characteristics is done if it is necessary to bypass intercom filters; it is individual in each specific case.

The electrical parameters of the blanks RW15 and TM-01A are set simultaneously with the recording of the key code. Parameter values can be changed in the duplicator menu “Settings” - “TM-01 Options”, “RW15 Options” or in the “Settings” tab - “Blank Options”.

RW15 blank settings include: “Load” (turning on the load resistor increases the current level) and “Speed” (key code output speed, 4 values).

The TM-01A workpiece settings include: “Load” (current level setting, 3 values) and “Code Period” (code period length, 7 values).
