Conclusion

After reading this article and following a number of simple steps, you will be able to effectively customize the appearance of your document even before you start typing. This will come in handy when working with almost all documents. What's more, you'll be able to save yourself the hassle of adjusting margins and paper size, or at least you'll know to prioritize page settings when you first start working on your document. Knowing how to configure page settings will be useful to anyone who works with documents.

For most documents, changing page settings is almost not required, since most often a new document is created based on some template. However, in some cases it makes sense to pay attention to this in order to achieve a more professional appearance of the document.

Once you've inserted section boundaries into your document, the next logical step is to change the page elements within each section. In fact, main reason Partitioning a document into sections is precisely the need to change page elements for different parts of the document. Therefore, you should not insert section ends in places where no changes to the page formatting are intended. Unnecessary section boundaries will only complicate editing and formatting, and will unnecessarily increase the size of the document file.

None of the documents printed on paper is complete without margins. Fields are empty spaces along the edges of the page, not occupied by text. WITH using Word You can set the size of all four margins - top (outside), bottom (inside), left (inside) and right (outside) - independently. The names of the fields in the case of using options are given in brackets Mirror fields or 2 pages per sheet. In addition, the value of some fields can be changed by changing the option Binding, which is designed to provide space for gluing pages during the binding process. In the usual case, the space for binding is allocated on the left, and in the case of using options Mirror fields or 2 pages per sheet- inside. Optimal value margins range from 0.5 to 1 cm. Margins area From edge to footer contain the distance from the top point of the footer to the corresponding edge of the sheet. When setting mirror margins, it becomes possible to make different headers and footers on even and odd pages, as well as on the first page of a section. To do this, you need to check the appropriate options on the tab Layout in the same dialog box.
