Arco is the mecca of European rock climbing, one of the best places for rock climbing in Europe. We have been holding this retreat every year since 2009.

The whole area is surrounded by rocks, completely different - from simple to complex, from short to long, in the shade and in the sun. Most of our training in the program will be in different areas (last time we visited 5 climbing areas in a week).

During the day we conduct rock climbing lessons with an experienced guide, and in the morning and evening we enjoy Italy, the lake, and local cuisine.

Always on our climbing trips on the rocks of Italy:

  • trainer-guide Igor Gusak, who knows the area well and speaks Italian. The coach carefully arranges all the logistics and training for each participant in the group;
  • comfortable apartments in the center of the cozy town of Arco;
  • a car for a group and travel to the best rocky spots in the region;
  • special climbing travel insurance;
  • general criteria for all our gatherings: a beautiful place for relaxation and evening leisure, comfortable life. Arko will not leave you indifferent.

Arco is a small town in the Trentino-Alto Adige region near Lake Garda in northern Italy.
The city developed around a medieval castle towering on a cliff, built in the 12th century.
The castle withstood assaults and sieges, remaining a reliable stronghold and defense for its owners, the Counts of Arco.
In 1495, the German artist Albert Durer depicted the castle in his watercolor.

In the 18th century decline began, subsequent wars, the siege of the castle and the conquest of the city by the French army, destroyed the fortress. Meanwhile, the d'Arco family was divided into two branches: the Italian lived in Arco and Mantua, the German in Bavarian Munich. And the castle remained the property of both.
At this time, the castle was slowly collapsing, local residents dismantled it to build their houses, and the ancient walls fell into disrepair.

In 1927, the last countess of the d'Arco family (Italian branch) bought the entire castle, becoming the sole owner. Giovanna d'Arco had no heirs and, having become a widow, spent all her strength and resources on her hometown of Mantua, she increased the family art collection. A few years after her death in 1982, Arco Castle became the property of the city and became a museum. During the restoration of the castle, frescoes depicting medieval scenes were discovered.

Arco is a popular resort for lovers of mountain tourism and rock climbing., among whom the majority are Austrians and Germans.
The narrow streets are filled with tourists, restaurants and shops selling special equipment and sportswear.

The town of Arco is located on the right bank of the Sacra River, at the point where the river valley begins to expand, and stretches to the very shore of Lake Garda. Just 5 km away are the popular tourist resorts of Riva del Garda and Torbole.

Arco is divided into two parts: at the foot of the cliff, where the ruins of an ancient castle are visible, is the historical center of the city with its elegant buildings, and to the west lies the new part of the city. Thanks to the protection of the mountains to the north and the waters of Garda to the south, Arco boasts a mild climate throughout the year, which is ideal for growing olives, magnolias, laurel, cacti, palms and other types of plants typical of the Mediterranean.

Archaeological excavations carried out in the region have revealed traces of settlements from the Neolithic and Bronze Ages. The Romans were also here. Over the centuries, Arco was attacked by the Goths and Lombards until it became an independent commune in the 11th century and came into the possession of the Counts of Arco in the next century. Several times during the years of bloody strife between the Guelphs and the Ghibellines, the city was destroyed. In 1703, Arco was seriously damaged by the invasion of the French, who literally dismantled its castle, and in 1804 the city became part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Only in 1918 did it become part of a united Italy.

Today, in the very center of Arco, there is a public park with a monument to local artist Giovanni Segantini, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, the Mosè Fountain, the City Hall and Palazzo Giuliani. Nearby is Palazzo Marcabruni, which houses 16th-century frescoes by Dionysius Bonmartini. And in the former building of the municipal Casino today a variety of cultural events are held. In the town of Largo Pina, in the mid-19th century, a luxurious villa was built where the Austrian Archduke Albert lived. To the north of the villa there is a park named after him. There are also the ruins of a medieval castle. If you go towards the bridge over the Sacra River, you can come to the Palazzo dei Panni, which is now occupied by the city library and exhibition halls. And in the town of Ceole there is the temple of the Madonna delle Grazie, built in 1492 by Franciscan monks.

In summer, walks around Arco will provide travelers with breathtaking views. The city is surrounded on almost all sides by picturesque olive groves, in one of which the Church of Madonna del Lagel is hidden. Fans of mountain hiking should definitely visit the San Pietro mountaineering shelter or climb Mount Monte Stivo. On Arco's beaches you can go windsurfing, diving, swimming or sailing. In winter, ski slopes are open on Monte Stivo, which are considered quite extreme.
