Itools doesn't see it. ITools: how to use, change language if iPhone doesn’t see it

If iTunes doesn't see your iPhone, there may be several explanations for this. There may be a software glitch. To do this, you need to reinstall the Apple application. The current version can always be downloaded by visiting the company's official website. If reinstalling the software did not help, we try to solve the problem in a different way, since the problem is caused by other reasons.

Problem with UB cable

It's possible that it doesn't work. You need to take another cable and check it when working with your device. You can also try using a different computer connector.

To check the functionality of the port, you can use a flash drive or other device. To ensure stable interaction with iPhone, it is better to use USB 3.0 or higher.

Apple Mobile Device Service fails in Windows environment

If this is the problem, a corresponding message may appear on the screen (stating that the AMDS service is not running). You need to do the following:

  • close iTunes;
  • disconnect iPhone from PC;
  • open the command line (you can act through “Start” or press the combination of the “Windows” and “R” buttons);
  • type “msc” and click “OK”;
  • you need to find AMDS in the list, right-click on the name, then select “Properties”.

  • select the launch option – “Automatic”;
  • Click “Stop”, and then “Run” and “OK”.

All that remains is to restart the PC, open iTunes and connect the iPhone.

Crash on macOS

If you have such an OS, you need to proceed as follows:

  • close the application;
  • disconnect iPhone from PC;
  • open Finder and send to trash: iTunes folder (and shortcut from launcher), AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg, AppleMobileDevice.kext;
  • restart PC;
  • empty the trash and reboot again;
  • download and install the new version of the application and connect the device.

There is also such a reason. When you connect your device to your PC for the first time, a message appears: “Should I trust this computer?” If you answer in the negative, iTunes access to the contents of your smartphone is blocked. During subsequent connections, this message may appear again or the device may become invisible to the PC.

To solve the problem, resetting trust settings will help. You need to do this:

  • launch the “Settings” application;
  • go to “Basic”;
  • in the “Reset” section you need to select “Reset geo settings”.

After this, when you connect the smartphone to the PC, a message asking about trust will appear again.

If such manipulation does not save the situation, you can return the network settings to the original version. You need to take the following steps:

  • launch “Settings”;
  • go to “Basic”;
  • Only in the “Reset” section select “Reset network settings”.

Attention! By doing this, you will reset your mobile operator’s network settings, Wi-Fi, passwords – all similar data.

iOS crash

This reason is also likely. You need to reflash your iPhone. The procedure is quite simple if you read the instructions carefully.

The problem may not only be a software glitch. Moisture may have entered the housing. A hardware failure can cause the device to become invisible.

The iTools utility, which has become a full-fledged replacement for iTunes with a set of all the capabilities inherent in the original program for exchanging and managing media files and information between a computer and mobile devices iPhone, iPad and iPod. Like many other software, iTools is subject to some errors and malfunctions that significantly slow down or make the operation of the utility impossible. The main problems among them are the following:

  • iTools does not see the device;
  • Error “Installation failed: Authentication Failure”;
  • The Browse button is missing.

What to do if iTools does not see the device?

If the itools program does not see the iPhone, our article will help you.

The problem of the iPhone or iPad not synchronizing with the PC appears from the first steps of working with iTools. You can see that after connecting the device with a wire, the computer does not see the iPhone and is not displayed in the program. Consequently, this error does not allow you to move and manage files from your computer to your iPhone, or in the opposite direction. The cause of the malfunction may be:

  • Mismatch between iTools and iTunes versions;
  • Failure to meet the minimum requirements of the computer operating system;
  • Incorrect operation of the iTools utility.

Solution to the problem:

  1. Download and install a working version of iTools from our website and iTunes;
  2. Install an operating system no lower than Windows 7 on your PC;
  3. Before installing new versions of programs, you must delete old ones (including folders and files that were not deleted automatically);
  4. If none of the above helped, install the driver for your iPhone manually using the instructions in the video below.

Path to the folder with iPhone drivers on your computer: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.

Video instruction: solution to the problem: the computer does not see the iPhone.

In extreme cases, disabling the antivirus on the computer can help; among program users, this method of fixing this error occurs.

Error "Installation failed: Authentication Failure"

A common problem for iPhone and iPad owners using the iTools utility on their computer is the appearance of a window that says “Installation failed: Authentication Failure” in Russian or “Installation failed: Authentication Failure” in English.

Solution to the problem:

The malfunction occurs during the installation of the iTools program, followed by interruption of the download of the installation file. As a rule, the cause of such an error is the incompatibility of the versions of iTools and iTunes, where one of them represents old software, the other updated.

The problem can be solved by installing the latest versions of programs.

In some cases, the error “Installation failed: Authentication Failure” appears on computers with outdated operating systems and OS, which, according to the stated requirements of the iTools developers, are not compatible with the utility.

Browse button is missing

A common error in iTools for iPhone and iPad users is that there is no “Browse” button on the computer screen in the installed program. This clickable key in the utility allows you to download user-selected content to your computer; therefore, its absence makes the main functions of the program inaccessible.

If the utility does not have a corresponding button, this indicates that iTunes is not installed on the computer, the libraries of which are largely used in iTools. You can fix the error by installing the latest version of the original Apple program.

Also, the problem may be caused by a conflict between the iTools and iTunes clients; to avoid such a situation, you need to install the appropriate software, updated to the latest current version.

iTools problems on iPad

In some cases, iPad owners do not see the iTools utility when connected to a computer, which does not allow them to use all the program’s tools. There may be several reasons why such an error occurs, the most common ones are the following:

  • Malfunction of the cable or connecting outputs of the computer or mobile device;
  • iTools does not work correctly;
  • Conflict of device operating systems, their non-compliance with the stated requirements.

Solution to the problem:

  1. Change the connection cable or connect to a computer via Wi-Fi wireless networks;
  2. Uninstall, re-download and reinstall new iTools and iTunes clients;
  3. Check the software installed on your computer and iPad, check it against the minimum requirements of the utility, and if necessary, install a new, latest version.

It is worth noting that most of all problems, errors and malfunctions arise due to inattention when installing and managing programs, as well as the use of low-quality software. iPhone and iPad owners need to use content only from trusted sources on their mobile devices and personal computers. Download working version

Many of those who use iTunes criticize Apple for their widespread “closeness” and complain about the limitations of the iTunes application for Windows. iTools is an iTunes replacement that can give you more complete control over your iPhone and iPad. True, sometimes iTools may not see your device - well, mistakes happen to everyone. The fix is simple - we'll talk about it below.

Why do you need the iTools app?

The iTools application is an alternative to iTunes. Came to us from Hong Kong. Since 2012, the Russian version of iTools has been available. Makes sharing content (photos, videos, music, iOS applications) more convenient than iTunes.

Advantages of iTools over iTunes:

  • quick installation;
  • five times faster startup;
  • lack of synchronization of iPhone or iPad with PC;
  • transfer video of any formats supported by Apple devices;
  • creating ringtones for any soundtrack;
  • half the system requirements for the computer - for example, it takes up only a few megabytes of disk space.

iTools program: how to use

Even an app as simple as iTools—in which many of the buttons and control panels aren't scattered like iTunes, but are clearly grouped and accessible at a glance—needs a little explanation.

Installing and launching iTools

iTools requires Apple drivers installed with iTunes - Apple Mobile Device Support. Without them, an iPhone or iPad will only be good for copying pictures to a PC. Use the latest version of iTunes. After installing iTunes and your gadget on your PC as a separate device, restart Windows and install iTools. There is also a Portable version of iTools that does not require installation.

Don’t go to the official iTools website - if you don’t speak Chinese, you’ll get even more confused. Find the English or Russian version of iTools on third-party sites.

The English version is taken as an example. The program has become shareware - additional iTools functions are available for $20. However, the basic functionality is quite sufficient - you can transfer music, videos, applications, install games from Apple Game Center, create backup copies of user data and “rollback” the iPhone. When starting, the iTools program displayed a message asking you to enter an activation key - if you do not have the key, click the cancel button.

Working with iTools

The iTools app supports advanced features not found in iTunes:

  • work with jailbroken iPhones and iPads;
  • converting mp3 songs to m4r, “understood” by iPhone;
  • automatic conversion of MOV videos to mp4 videos;
  • distribution of saved purchased iOS applications to your friends and acquaintances

And this is not the whole list! The iPhone 4s is taken as an example.

Information about the connected gadget

When you connect an iPhone, the iTools application immediately displays all information about the gadget.

It’s interesting that you can see the number of discharge-charge cycles of the battery, when and where the iPhone was purchased - and whether it passed the warranty, whether it can be “jailbroken” without fear of losing it.

Installing games from the AppStore (Game Center) on iPhone

It's easy to install any game. All you need is a high-speed Internet connection on your PC.

When you click “Install,” the iTools app will download and install the selected game on your iPhone.

Downloading music to iPhone

Do the following.

How to work with photos and screenshots

iTools lets you share photos and screenshots from your iPhone. Select the photos you want to transfer to the gadget's memory.

You can also permanently delete them from your device, run a slide show on your computer, etc.

Downloading Videos to iPhone

You can do the same with videos, easily transferring them to a PC disk for further processing.

The program will also help you convert them from MOV to MP4.

Working with e-books

The iTools program allows you to save downloaded books on your PC disk in PDF, FB2 and other formats.

Similarly, you can download books previously downloaded online to your iPhone. Make sure that your gadget works with PDF and FB2 documents (depending on the iOS version).

How iTools works with standard iOS apps on iPhone

The iTools program did not bypass standard iOS applications:

  • contacts and calls;
  • SMS/MMS messages;
  • calendar and bookmarks (events).

To, for example, open the message panel in iTools, go to the “Messages” sub-item of the “Info” tab.

Updating iPhone firmware using iTools

iTools will update your iOS firmware just as well as iTunes.

Select the model of your Apple gadget and the installed software version.

The technical name of your gadget is marked as a brand A device (from the word “Apple”) - for example, device A1387 is the iPhone 4s.

iOS Desktop Broadcast

The iTunes application can display the appearance and icons of your Desktop operating system of the iOS operating system installed on your device.

It is possible to remove any third-party application installed from the AppStore directly from iTools.

Set a song as a ringtone on iPhone

It is possible to import additional ringtones into the iOS collection on the device, which has a very limited set. iTools can make a “cut” from any song and install it on the iPhone as a realtone, transcoding from MP3 to M4R format.

Access files and folders on iPhone with iTools

One of my favorite pastimes - looking through iPhone or iPad folders - has not been left aside.

Some iPhone system folders are still protected. This does not give access, for example, to voice recordings made on the device. For them to open, you need to jailbreak your Apple gadget and install a special tweak from the Cydia catalog - AppSync (or similar).

How to change the language from Chinese to Russian in iTools

The only advice dictated by common sense is to at least install the English version! You will get the hang of it faster than the Chinese one.

If you still run into the Chinese version of iTools, download the crack for this version. The only rule is that the iTools application must be closed when installing the cracker.

Problems encountered when using iTools

Not everything is so smooth. There may be difficulties - for example, some files and folders are not displayed, the device is not detected by the computer, etc.

iTools installation failed

  • The iTools distribution file is “crooked” (wrongly assembled by the developers, or is completely damaged) or has an unknown format. The latter happens much less frequently than the previous cases. Download the application from another source.
  • The version of Windows is too old for the current version of the iTools application. Have you recently updated or reinstalled Windows?
  • The connection is broken when downloading the iTools source code. Restore your Internet connection, return to the site you downloaded from and download these files again.
  • Some necessary files are missing in the folder with the Portable version of iTools (if the Portable version is used). Download another version of Portable - or download the same version of iTools Portable from another site.
  • Windows system errors - for example, an error in any of the DLLs, infection or damage to system files. Check your Windows system with an antivirus, or run a Windows update from the installation disk or flash drive from which this version of Windows was last installed. Try downloading and copying the system files with which this problem occurs - errors in them are usually indicated by the system itself.
  • PC “brakes” due to viruses, Windows system cluttered with adware and spyware, frequent installation/uninstallation of new programs. A common problem is the malfunction of system processes responsible for good computer performance, such as svchost.exe, Superfetch technology, etc., which are Windows components. To solve this problem, you will need a Windows distribution kit - from it, start restoring/updating system files that are vital to the operating system.
  • You chose the Chinese version of iTools - and mixed up the buttons on the screen, not knowing their location in the English version of the iTools installer, and pressed the wrong button in the right place. Do not use the Chinese version without knowing Chinese.

iTunes installation fails due to Windows Installer service failures

Among the sudden reasons for iTools failure during the installation stage may be the incorrect operation of the Windows Installer component. To try to figure it out, do the following.

  1. Open the Windows Services application. To do this, give the command Start - Run, enter services.msc.
  2. Launch the built-in Windows Services component.
  3. Find out what other services the Windows Installer service depends on by opening its properties and checking its settings.
  4. Try starting it by clicking on the start button. If the service has started, stop it. This is a test of her work. Go to the Dependencies tab.
  5. In the same way, check the operation of other Windows services from the list - for example, the Remote Procedure Call component - they control the operation of the Installer. Find out their purpose - this may be useful to you when solving problems with the installation of not only iTools.

This advice may come in handy if all previous solutions, however, did not work.

The computer did not detect the iPhone

The reasons may be as follows.

  • Apple driver installation error when installing iTunes. Download a more recent version of iTunes.
  • USB Root Hub driver error. A very rare mistake. Occurs when installing “custom” builds of Windows. This driver is a Windows component.
  • There is an error in the USB port you connected your iPhone or iPad to. Connect to a different port. If the port is damaged, contact your nearest computer service center.
  • One of your PC's chipset drivers is not installed. Also a very rare error. Reinstall this driver using the installation disc that came with your PC, or contact your computer manufacturer's website.
  • The USB cable is damaged. Repair the break, eliminate the internal short circuit of any cable wires, or replace the cable if the insulation is broken or the USB plug or interface plug for the gadget is damaged.
  • Weak USB port. It's rare, but it's possible. It is possible that the gadget does not have enough power when recharging the battery, or the voltage of the USB port has dropped significantly. Use a hub (USB-Hub) with external (additional) power.
  • The interface connector of the device is damaged. Contact Apple specialists - an iStore service center or a similar one - to replace this connector.

Some folders are not displayed in iTunes

So, the Apple gadget is visible - but its folders cannot be opened. The reasons are as follows.

Video instructions for installing and working with iTools

The iTools utility is not so complicated that it cannot be installed. The main difficulty is with the Russian language. Of course, it is tempting to purchase an application that has an interface in your native language. But it doesn’t take much longer for people to get comfortable with the English version than with the Russian one. Other problems that arise with iTools are 99.9% solvable. Once you've mastered iTools, you won't want to go back to slow and complicated iTunes. Good luck!

If iTools does not see your iPhone, iPad, iTunes, then the cause of the problem may be either the use of outdated versions of the software or hardware problems such as cable damage. One way or another, you can fix the error yourself.

Outdated software

For iTools to work, iTunes must be installed on your computer. Despite the fact that iTools is considered a more functional analogue of iTunes, such a replacement cannot be called a full-fledged one: without the “native” application, nothing will work.

If your computer does not have iTunes, you need to install it by downloading the installation file from the Apple website. In addition, iTunes and iTools must be up to date, that is, they must be updated regularly. To check for updates for iTunes:

The program will start looking for modifications, and if any appear on Apple servers, it will offer to install them. If the latest version is already installed on your computer, you will see the following message:

The problem may also occur if you are using an outdated version of iTools. Unlike iTunes, you cannot check for updates in the program interface, so you will have to take a different route - uninstall the application and download the latest version from the developer’s website.

  1. Open the control panel, go to the “Uninstall programs” section.
  2. Find and uninstall iTools by following the uninstall wizard.

After completing the uninstallation procedure, go to the iTools developer website and download the latest version of the application in English. Launch the downloaded distribution and install the program.

Trust not established

When connecting your iPhone/iPad to your computer for the first time, you need to establish trust - without it, neither iTunes nor iTools will see the device.

  1. Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer.
  2. Unlock your mobile device.
  3. In the “Trust this computer?” window. select the "Trust" option.

If you've selected "Trust" on your iPhone or iPad, but iTunes or iTools still doesn't see the device, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes and iTools.
  2. Disconnect and reconnect your iPhone/iPad.
  3. Restart your iPhone/iPad and computer.
  4. Reset trust settings.

To reset trust settings, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, go to General, and select Reset. Reset your geo settings.

After resetting the geo settings, connect your iPhone/iPad to your computer and re-establish trust. Make sure iTunes sees your device. If everything is fine, then the mobile device will be detected in iTools.

Jailbreak devices

If you have jailbroken iOS to get additional features, this may also cause problems with identifying your iPhone/iPad when connecting to iTools. To remove jailbreak, use the Cydia Impactor utility from the BigBoss repository.
