Face ID? Similar story. The phone scans the face like a finger, and then reads the face like the same pattern on a pillow. One convenient way unlocking was replaced by another. There is no particular difference in the sensations - I don’t understand why Apple can be praised here.

Some people were probably excited by talking animated emoticons, but let's be honest - this trend will last even less than Prisma. Now on Twitter they organize flash mobs and record Animoji karaoke, but in just a week such clips will already seem old school, and in a month - just vulgar and ancient.

In fact, Animoji is a dead topic because the feature is only available on the iPhone X and only in iMessage, and the video length is limited to ten seconds. Too many limits to be a hit. If Apple is counting on something, then the corporation needs to port Animoji to all messengers as soon as possible, otherwise this feature will painfully fail.

Firstly, Apple itself admitted that the pixels on the display can burn out if you turn off auto-brightness. This is the company’s second important compromise in two years: in 2016, Tim Cook imposed a Jet Black case for the iPhone 7 to protect the device from inevitable scratches.

The second problem with the screen is white, which, due to the nature of the technology, looks more like light gray. Minus number three is the viewing angles: when you turn the screen, everything quickly turns blue.

Of course, the OLED screen has its advantages (for example, rich blacks and great contrast), but personally, I find it much more comfortable to work with the IPS display of the iPhone 7 Plus.

Another pseudo-advantage of the iPhone X is wireless charging. I tested the device in tandem with the Qi adapter, but did not complete the experiment in order to avoid breaking the flagship, which heated up as if it was in hell in a frying pan.

By the way, this happens periodically with the “ten” even when normal charging, and even just under heavy load. At first the phone becomes warm, and after a couple of minutes it becomes extremely hot. In addition, an increase in temperature affects the sensor: it begins to miss touches. This is a widespread problem, and it will apparently be solved by optimizing the firmware.

Nothing is clear about the reliability of the case either. Every day, photos of cracked iPhone Xs are uploaded to the Internet, and IT news sites write about the astronomical cost of repairs - from $250 for a broken screen, from $550 if both panels (back and front) are broken.

Of course, Apple does its best to attract attention to branded cases, but they destroy the whole concept of bezel-less and make the iPhone an ordinary phone.

This iPhone true did not give me ecstasy. Perhaps because Apple created high expectations. Or because of the astronomical price. Or because I change my iPhone every year and can't enjoy the leaps and bounds of progress.

For example, my colleague, who took the iPhone X immediately after Xiaomi Redmi, enjoys every second of interaction with the new Apple smartphone. I can’t do this - the healthy metal 7 Plus still seems more practical to me than the glass iPhone X. Moreover, last year’s phablet is much cheaper than the “ten”.

I have no doubt that Apple will sell the iPhone X in huge quantities, but, in my opinion, no paradigm shift has occurred: under the guise of a revolution, people were robbed of terrible money for a nice piece of glass and steel.
