Bootable USB flash drive format for Windows 10.

You can install Windows 10 from any media that has the Windows installation program on it. The storage medium can be a USB flash drive that meets the parameters described below in the article. You can turn a regular flash drive into an installation drive using third-party programs or the official application from Microsoft.

Preparation and characteristics of the flash drive

The flash drive you use must be completely empty and work in a certain format; we will achieve this by formatting it. The minimum size to create a bootable flash drive is 4 GB. You can use the created installation media as many times as you like, that is, you can install Windows 10 on several computers from one flash drive. Of course, you will need a separate license key for each of them.

Preparing a flash drive

The flash drive you choose must be formatted before you begin placing the installation software on it:

Second formatting method

There is another way to format a flash drive - through the command line. Expand the command prompt using administrator rights, and then run the following commands:

  1. Enter one by one: diskpart and list disk to see all the disks available on the PC.
  2. To select a disk, write: select disk No., where No. is the disk number specified in the list.
  3. clean.
  4. create partition primary.
  5. select partition 1.
  6. active.
  7. format fs=FAT32 QUICK.
  8. assign.
  9. exit.

Obtaining an ISO image of the operating system

There are several ways to create installation media, some of which will require an ISO image of the system. You can download the hacked build at your own risk from one of the sites that distribute Windows 10 for free, or get the official version of the OS from the Microsoft website:

  1. https://www.microsoft.com/ru-ru/software-download/windows10).
  2. Select OS language, version and bit depth. You should choose the version based on your needs. If you are an average user who does not work with Windows at a professional or corporate level, then install the home version; there is no point in taking more sophisticated options. The bit depth is set to the one supported by your processor. If it is dual-core, then choose the 64x format; if it is single-core, then choose 32x.
  3. When prompted to select media, check the ISO file option.
  4. Specify where to save the system image. Done, the flash drive is prepared, the image is created, you can start creating the installation media.

Creating installation media from a USB flash drive

The easiest method can be used if your computer supports UEFI mode - a newer BIOS version. Typically, if the BIOS opens as a menu, then it supports UEFI. You can also find out whether your motherboard supports this mode or not on the website of the company that made it.

  1. Insert the USB flash drive into the computer and only then start rebooting it.
  2. As soon as the computer turns off and the startup process begins, you need to enter the BIOS. Most often, the Delete key is used for this, but other options are possible, depending on the model of motherboard installed on your PC. When the time comes to enter the BIOS, a prompt with hot keys will appear at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Change the boot order: by default, the computer starts from the hard drive if it finds the OS on it, but you must install your UEFI: USB flash drive first. If the flash drive is displayed, but there is no UEFI signature, then this mode is not supported by your computer and this installation method is not suitable.
  4. Save the changes you made to the BIOS and start your computer. If everything is done correctly, the OS installation process will begin.

If it turns out that your board is not suitable for installation via UEFI mode, then use one of the methods below to create universal installation media.

Media Creation Tool

You can also create Windows installation media using the official Media Creation Tool.

  1. Go to the official Windows 10 page and download the installation program from Microsoft from it (https://www.microsoft.com/ru-ru/software-download/windows10).
  2. Run the downloaded program, read and agree to the standard license agreement.
  3. Select the option to create installation media.
  4. As described earlier, select the OS language, version and bit depth.
  5. When prompted to select media, indicate that you want to use a USB device.
  6. If several flash drives are connected to your computer, select the one you prepared in advance.
  7. Wait until the program automatically creates installation media from your flash drive. After this, you will need to change the boot method in the BIOS (put the installation flash drive in the first place in the “Boot” section) and proceed to install the OS.

Using unofficial programs

There are many third-party programs that create installation media. They all work according to the same scenario: they write a Windows image that you created in advance onto a flash drive so that it turns into bootable media. Let's look at the most popular, free and convenient applications.

Rufus

Rufus is a free program for creating bootable USB drives. It runs on Windows operating systems starting with Windows XP SP2.

  1. Download and install the program from the developer’s official website: http://rufus.akeo.ie/?locale.
  2. All program functions fit in one window. Specify the device to which the image will be written.
  3. In the “File system” line, specify the FAT32 format, since this is what we formatted the flash drive in.
  4. In the system interface type, set the option for computers with BIOS and UEFI if you are sure that your computer does not support UEFI mode.
  5. Specify the location of the pre-built system image and select a standard Windows installation.
  6. Click on the “Start” button to start the installation media creation process. Done, after completing the procedure, change the boot method in the BIOS (in the “Boot” section you need to put the flash card in first place) and proceed to installing the OS.

Ultra ISO

UltraISO is a very multifunctional program that allows you to create and work with images.

  1. Buy or download a trial version, which is quite enough to complete our task, from the official website of the developer: https://ezbsystems.com/ultraiso/.
  2. While in the main menu of the program, expand the “File” menu.
  3. Select “Open” and specify the location of the pre-created image.
  4. Select "Burn Hard Disk Image".
  5. Specify which flash drive you want to use.
  6. Leave the recording method as USB-HDD.
  7. Click on the “Record” button and wait for the process to complete. After completing the procedure, change the boot method in the BIOS (put the installation flash drive in the first place in the “Boot” section) and proceed to installing the OS.

WinSetupFromUSB

WinSetupFromUSB is a utility for creating a bootable USB flash drive with the ability to install Windows, starting with version XP.

Is it possible to use MicroSD instead of a USB flash drive?

The answer is yes, you can. The process of creating an installation MicroSD is no different from the same process with a USB flash drive. The only thing is that you must make sure that your computer has a suitable MicroSD port. To create this type of installation media, it is better to use third-party programs described above in the article, rather than the official Microsoft utility, as it may not recognize MicroSD.

Errors during creation of the installation flash drive

The installation media creation process may be interrupted for the following reasons:

  • There is not enough memory on the drive - less than 4 GB. Find a flash drive with more memory and try again,
  • The flash drive is not formatted or formatted in the wrong format. Go through the formatting process again, carefully following the instructions above,
  • The Windows image recorded on the USB flash drive is damaged. Download another image, it is best to take it from the official Microsoft website,
  • if one of the methods described above does not work in your case, then use another option. If none of them work, then the problem is with the flash drive and should be replaced.

Video: creating an installation flash drive with Windows 10

Creating installation media is an easy process and is mostly done automatically. If you use a working flash drive, a high-quality system image and use the instructions correctly, then everything will work out, and after restarting the computer you can begin installing Windows 10. If after installation is complete you want to save the installation flash drive, then do not move any files to it, then can be used again.

An easier and faster way to reinstall Windows 10 is to use a bootable flash drive. You can do it yourself. Copying files from flash media is 2 times faster than from a regular DVD. Therefore, installation and reinstallation of the “tens” is increasingly carried out with their help. Let's look into the details of how to create a bootable USB flash drive for Windows 10 on a desktop PC or laptop.

Installation Media Creation Tool - Basic utility for reinstalling the system

The tool for installing the OS on a PC is available for free at https://www.microsoft.com/ru-ru/software-download/windows10. An auxiliary program that automatically downloads the latest version of Windows OS onto a flash drive and turns it into a boot disk.

Important! Using a tool from the official resource, the user gains access to the original version of the operating system (Home, Pro and Home generations for the same language). But you can only use it if you have a key to the system.

To get a flash drive for restoring and/or reinstalling the OS using the Installation Media Creation Tool, you need to download the tool and proceed as follows:
The process of writing files will take several minutes. The progress of creating bootable flash media will be displayed in the “Download Windows 10” window that opens. As soon as the "Done" message appears. The drive can be removed from the USB connector and used when reinstalling the OS.

Creating an ISO image of OS Windows 10 yourself

When considering the following options for obtaining an installation removable drive, you will need an ISO image of the system downloaded to your PC. It is easy to create an image using the Installation Media Creation Tool already discussed above. Having selected the system architecture, its language and version (if required) in the appropriate window, proceed as follows:

The procedure may take from 15 to 30 minutes. It all depends on the version of the updated OS, the state of the PC and its load at the time of the operation. To create an ISO file, you can also use third-party software products: Ashampoo Burning Studio Free, CDBurnerXP, ImgBurn and others. All of them require prior installation on a PC. Installation is standard.

Official Microsoft utility - USB/DVD Download Tools

When the seventh version of Windows appeared, a special USB/DVD Download Tools utility was developed to record its image. It's completely free. Its advantage is formality and adaptability to functions. Therefore, it is still used to this day to create a distribution. The utility is available for download both from the developer’s resource and from a third-party (preferably virus-checked) site. Installation of the program is standard.

Important! To create a bootable Windows 10 USB flash drive, you need a previously created and saved ISO file (we described how to do this above).

The creation procedure is as follows:
The process can be monitored in a new window. If necessary, you can mark it by clicking the “Cancel” button. Once the procedure is completed, the flash drive is ready for use.

Rufus - Alternative way

A software product for creating bootable flash drives with a Russian-language interface. It can also be used when working with earlier versions of the OS. The program writes an ISO file to a flash drive, so you need to prepare it in advance.

You can download the latest version using the link https://rufus.ie/ru_RU.html. Installation of the software product is carried out in one click. Then proceed like this:
The remaining items in the window are filled in automatically upon insertion of the flash drive into the slot. After pressing the button Start", the system warns the user that all data on the removable media will be deleted. At this stage you need to click " OK" The procedure will take quite a long time. This is fine. As soon as in the section " Status» menu slider « Ready"will reach the end, you can press " Close».

The choice of how to create a bootable flash drive depends on personal preference. But those that work with an ISO image of the operating system will allow you to restore Windows 10 in 15-20 minutes with minimal data loss. And if you make it a rule to regularly update the distribution (every 3-6 months), then serious losses of information can be completely avoided.

The modern world is in constant movement and development. This statement also applies to computer technology, in particular to storage media. Miniature flash drives (flash drives) are replacing the recently used optical disks.

This is explained simply: the flash drive has high read and write speeds, is rewritable and holds a large amount of data, which allows it to be used as a boot drive for the Windows 10 system.

What is a bootable flash drive?

A Windows 10 bootable flash drive is a small storage medium that connects to the USB port of a computer, laptop or netbook and has a standard memory capacity of 2 to 32 GB. Using such a flash drive, on which the operating system (OS) is loaded, you can restore Windows 10 after failures or start a new installation.

A bootable USB flash drive also allows you to run Windows 10 for a preliminary acquaintance with the OS without installing the system.

Ways to create a bootable USB flash drive

To create a bootable flash drive with the Windows 10 distribution installed, various methods are used, including using various programs.

A distribution kit is a file or files intended for installing a program.

The main methods include the following:

  1. Using built-in Windows tools.
  2. Without the use of additional programs.
  3. Using third-party utilities and applications:
    • Windows 10 Installation Media Creation Too;
    • Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool;
    • Rufus;

Note that you can prepare a flash drive in this way in any OS. To do this, you first need to launch the command line using the Win+R key combination. Then enter the cmd command and press Enter. The further algorithm is no different from the above.

Without using any programs

This method of creating a bootable flash drive is considered the easiest. However, it can only be used on computers with a Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) chip, which performs the same functions as the BIOS, but is more advanced, better interacts with the OS bootloader, and has a number of other advantages. Currently, UEFI is installed on all new computer models.

You will need a flash drive of at least 4 GB, formatted in FAT32, and an ISO image with Windows 10.

Mount the image using a program designed for this, such as Daemon Tools or UltraISO.

Open the created virtual disk with the Windows 10 OS image.

Summary:

1) What is needed to perform these actions.

2) Create bootable media with a Windows 10 image using the Media Creation Tool.

3) Create bootable media with a Windows 10 image using official images from the Microsoft website.

Note: Before performing these operations on your device, you should contact your device manufacturer's technical support. It may use special images for your device, and you will not be able to install the system correctly using "clean" images from Microsoft. Please clarify the possibility and legality of using this instruction.

Note 2: Enterprise/Education editions are not mentioned in this article, however, most of the steps for installing Windows 10 of these types are the same as described in this article.

Details

What is needed to perform these actions.

  • Internet connection (you will need to download from 4 to 7 GB of data).
  • Disk space on your computer/tablet to store downloaded files.
  • A flash drive or disk with a capacity of 8 GB (in some cases, 4 GB will be enough). You can also use SD cards (for example, this will be much more convenient for a tablet).
  • For tablets without a full USB port - a USB-OTG adapter.
  • Operating system Windows 7 or later (Windows 10 recommended).

Make sure you have all of this.

Create bootable media with a Windows 10 image using the Media Creation Tool.

This method is the simplest and is suitable for most Windows users.

1) Download the Media Creation Tool program and run it.

You can download the program from the official Microsoft website by clicking on the button Download the tool now on this page . You can also use the direct link.

Run the downloaded file. The following window will open:

2) Read and accept the license agreement.

Review the license agreement. If you agree with it, which is necessary for further operation of the program, click Accept.

3) Select "Create bootable media for another PC."

After some time (usually up to 1 minute), the program window will update and look like this:

Click on the button Create bootable media for another PC. Then click Further.

4) Select the desired options for the Windows 10 you are going to install.

After the previous operations, a window will open where you will be asked to select the parameters of the Windows you are installing. Initially, as you can see in the next screenshot, they are inactive.

In order to select the necessary parameters manually, uncheck the box circled in the screenshot. It will be signed as Use recommended settings for this computer.

Select the options you need. In the first drop-down list, select Windows language. In the second - the editorial staff. In the third - bit depth, 32-bit or 64-bit.

Learn more about languages.

The language you select will be the default Windows language. The selected language also determines the region and format of time, currency, etc. in Windows, as well as the available editions of Windows 10. In the standard editions of Windows 10 - Home or Professional (Pro) - you can change the language. However, I recommend initially choosing the one you need.

More about the editions.

The editions available depend on the language you select. There are 4 of them in total. If you are going to reinstall Windows on your current computer/tablet, you can leave this option unchanged - the program automatically selects what you need. Otherwise, you need to select exactly the edition for which you purchased the license.

1) Windows 10. This edition is available for all languages. It includes Windows 10 Home and Professional. When installing Windows from such an image, you will be asked to select the desired OS type.

2) Windows 10 Home for one language (Home Single Language). This edition is also available for all languages.

3) Windows 10 N. This edition is available for a limited number of languages. There is no Russian or Ukrainian among them. It has a different set of built-in programs.

4) Windows 10 KN. This edition is only available for the Korean language.

Read more about bit depth.

The system capacity directly depends on the processor architecture. It comes in two types - 32-bit and 64-bit. Moreover, a 32-bit system can be installed on 64-bit processors, but a 64-bit system cannot be installed on 32-bit processors.

If you are going to reinstall Windows on your current computer/tablet, I recommend leaving this setting unchanged. Otherwise, make sure that the processor of the device you need supports one or another bit depth. In addition, the manufacturer of this PC must provide drivers for this bitness.

Moreover, keep in mind that a 32-bit system will only work with 4 GB or less of RAM, even if you have 6 GB or more installed, and a 64-bit system is only worth installing if you have more than 4 GB of RAM.

You can also select the "Both" option. In this case, when installing the OS, you can select the bit depth you need.

After selecting the required options, click Further:

If you have changed any settings, you will be warned that the Windows activation you will install using this image may require a different license to activate.

Click OK.

5) Select to create bootable media based on a flash drive.

A window will open asking you where to save the system image. The program can simply download and save an ISO file on your computer for future use, or it can immediately write the system image to a flash drive. If you need to use a disk, I recommend using the instructions from Part 2 of this article (creating bootable media using official images from the Microsoft website). In this part of the article we will choose a flash drive.

Depending on the parameters you selected earlier, flash drives of different sizes will be needed. The required volume is displayed directly under the first item - “USB flash memory devices”.

Select 1st item - USB flash memory device and press Further.

6) Insert the flash drive and select it in the program.

A window will open in front of you with a list of all flash drives connected to your computer/tablet. If you connect a new flash drive, you will need to press a button Refresh disk list so that the program can detect it.

Insert the flash drive to which you will burn the image, refresh the list of drives and select the appropriate device. Please note that this flash drive will be formatted. After that click Further.

7) Wait for the image to download.

After selecting the flash drive, the program will begin downloading the image. During this time, you can freely use the computer.

8) After downloading, the image verification process will begin.

9) After this, the program will begin writing the image to the flash drive.

10) The bootable flash drive is ready!

You can close the program.

Creating a download private media with a Windows 10 image using official images from the Microsoft website.

Let's assume:

  • Media Creation Tool is not working correctly for you;
  • You wanted to download the OS image yourself;
  • You wanted to burn the image to disk;
  • You want to burn an image of one of the Windows Insider Program builds to a disk or flash drive.

Then this instruction will help you.

I note that This method works on all the most popular operating systems, including Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10.

After a few seconds, the following drop-down list will appear. It asks you to select a Windows language. Scroll through the list and select Russian, if you need Russian, Ukrainian, if you need Ukrainian or any other language. After this, press the button again Confirm.

After this, two buttons will appear in front of you that contain download links. The first button is a link to download a 32-bit image, the second is a link to download a 64-bit image. Read more about bit depth in paragraph 4 of part 1 of this article.

1.2) You need an image of one of the preliminary OS builds.

Go to the following site: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windowsinsiderpreviewadvanced

If it says you're not an Insider even though you are, try changing your Microsoft account name to something in Latin rather than Cyrillic.

The process of setting parameters and obtaining the corresponding link is similar to the process described in paragraph 1.1 of this part of this article. True, the Insider Program website is in English, but you can use a translator.

The only thing that will change is the available editions of Windows 10. Different builds, corporate editions, etc. will be available. However, most will need the Windows 10 Insider Preview edition, which contains Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview and Windows 10 Home Insider Preview . These editions are activated by licenses from Windows 10 Professional and Windows 10 Home, respectively.

Also, not all languages available for the stable version of Windows 10 may be available!

To do this, run the downloaded file.

Click Install("Install").

Click Finish("Complete").

Now the program is installed, its shortcut is on the desktop. It can also be found in the Start menu.

ATTENTION! During installation, the program may require you to install a system component - .NET Framework 2.0. The installation will most likely happen automatically; you will just need to confirm the download and installation of this component.

4) Launch the program and select the ISO file you downloaded earlier.

In the window that opens, click the gray button Browse(1). Explorer will open. Find and open the ISO file you downloaded earlier there. Let it appear in line (2). After that, press the green button Next (3).

5) Select the media on which you will burn the image.

Click on the blue button USB device(1), if you write the image to a flash drive, use the blue button DVD(2) if you burn the image to disk or gray button Start Over(3) if you selected the wrong image in the previous step and want to return to the beginning of the recording process.

6) Insert the desired flash drive/disk to which you want to burn the image.

Select the desired device from the drop-down list (1). If you have just inserted a disk/flash drive, press the blue button (2) to refresh the list of available devices. If you messed something up in the previous steps, the gray button Start Over(4) to return to the beginning of the process at your service.

7) Agree to format the flash drive if you are writing the image to it.

The flash drive must be formatted before the recording process. If it contains information that is important to you, copy it to a computer or other flash drive before burning the image.

To format, click the button Erase USB Device. After that, another window will pop up, “Are you sure you want to do this?” Click Yes("Yes").

With the release of the new operating system from Microsoft, many PC users are wondering: how to create a bootable USB flash drive for Windows 10? This is not surprising, because nowadays flash drives have practically replaced optical drives, and many computers are produced without an optical drive. In this material we will describe in detail the process of writing a bootable USB flash drive, and also consider an example of loading it.

How to make a bootable Windows 10 USB flash drive using the UltraISO disk editing utility

Utility Ultra ISO is a fairly popular tool for editing and burning various images of DVDs and CDs to discs. To create a bootable USB flash drive using the UltraISO utility, we need an image from a licensed dozen or a DVD with the original OS. In our case, we will use a licensed Windows 10 64 bit disk. We will need this disk to create an ISO image for later creating a bootable USB flash drive.

First of all, download and install the UltraISO program. Then install the licensed OS disc into the DVD drive. After that, let's launch UltraISO itself.

Now let's go to the menu " Tools" and select the menu item " Create CD image..." You can also open the image creation menu by pressing F8.

After these steps, a window should open as shown below.

At this stage you need select drivewith licensed Microsoft Windows 10 64 bit. Specify the location to save the image and the type of image. In our case, this is an ISO image. After editing the settings, feel free to click the Make button, after which the process of writing the ISO image to the previously specified folder will begin.

Having completed the recording, the UltraISO wizard will create the ISO image we need with Windows 10 64 bit.

After the work has been done, you can start creating a USB flash drive using UltraISO. To do this, load the ISO disk image we created into the program and go to the “” menu, where we select the “ Burn a hard disk image».

In the window that opens you can see that we already have a flash drive installed “ KingstonData Traveler 2.0PMAP" You can also see that the recording method is " USB-HDD+».

To correctly create a bootable flash drive, it is better not to change this recording method.

The final step is to click on the Burn button, after which the creation of a bootable USB flash drive with ten will begin.

After the wizard completes, the bootable USB flash drive will be ready. The example shows that creating a USB flash drive using the UltraISO utility in question is quite simple.

To make it easier for PC users to download ISO images and create bootable flash drives, the developers have released a utility MediaCreationTool. The application can be downloaded from www.microsoft.com. After downloading, the utility can be launched immediately, since it is portable and does not require installation. In the MediaCreationTool application window that appears, select the second item, which will allow us to download and burn the ISO image to a flash drive.

In the next window we need to select the language, edition and architecture of the operating system. If in paragraph " Architecture"we will select the value " Both", then we can create a multiboot flash drive.

Such a multiboot USB flash drive will include two versions of the OS, namely 32 and 64 bit. In our case, we will select the item “ Both" and move on to the next step.

In this window, we will leave the first item, since it will allow us to create a bootable drive, and we will continue the wizard.

At this stage, the wizard will prompt you to select the drive on which Microsoft Windows 10 64 bit will be written. The next step will be to download and write dozens of files onto a flash drive.

After completing the wizard, a bootable USB flash drive will be created.

From the example you can see that using MediaCreationTool to create bootable drives is easier than in the UltraISO example.

The bootable drive created by this program will support UEFI BIOS. After installing such Windows, it will be fully compatible with all motherboards that support UEFI BIOS.

The main benefit of using a UEFI compliant OS is security. In the next example, we will also look at an example of creating a bootable flash drive using the Rufus utility, in which you can create USB flash drives with support for the new UEFI BIOS BIOS format.

We solve the problem using the Rufus utility

Utility Rufus A relatively young program, but it has already won an army of fans due to its simplicity and speed. You can download it from the official website https://rufus.akeo.ie. Just like in the previous example, the utility does not require installation. Therefore, we can immediately run the downloaded installer.

In the block " Device"You can see that we have a 16 GB flash drive installed. In the next block you can select the type of supported BIOS. In our case, we selected an item that applies to both the old and the new UEFI BIOS. If necessary, you can choose the option for both motherboards with regular BIOS and UEFI.

In the block " Formatting options“You don’t need to set any options, since after selecting an image with a dozen, the utility will configure everything automatically.

To select an image with Windows 10 64 bit, you need to go to the “ Formatting options» Click on the button in the form of an optical drive icon, and then select the required ISO image.

As you can see in the image above, the utility has configured all the parameters automatically and is ready to create a bootable USB flash drive.

Pay attention to the point " Windows To Go" in the options that appear. By selecting this item, you can. In some cases this is very convenient, but it is worth considering certain parameters of your flash drive. The flash drive must be at least 32 gigabytes and preferably in USB 3.0 format.

Select the normal installation option and click the Start button. This action will start the process of writing installation files to the USB flash drive, and will also make it bootable.

As you have already noticed, if instead of an ISO image you have an optical disc with Windows 10 64 bit, then you will have to use other utilities to create it. To create an ISO image, you can use utilities such as DAEMON Tools, Alcohol 120% and the previously described UltraISO program. In addition, the image for Rufus can be downloaded using the MediaCreationTool utility described above. Overall, Rufus does a very good job and creates a bootable USB flash drive faster than other programs. In the following example we will describe launching a bootable flash drive created by the Rufus utility.

Launch the created bootable USB drive using Rufus

First of all, a bootable Windows 10 flash drive created using Rufus must be installed in a free USB port on the PC on which tens will be installed. The computer on which installation will be performed is fully compatible with UEFI BIOS. To install, restart the computer and press the F11 key when it starts. This action is necessary to open the boot drive menu (BOOT MENU).

In the image above you can see that there is two options for launching a flash drive:

  1. KingstonDataTraveler 2.0PMAP;
  2. UEFI: KingstonDataTraveler 2.0PMAP.

The first option will launch our USB flash drive with support for a regular BIOS, and the second option will launch it with support for UEFI BIOS. In our case, we will select the item “ UEFI: KingstonDataTraveler 2.0PMAP" By selecting this item, we will boot into the standard Windows 64 bit installer window.

I would also like to note that the BOOT MENU on different computers can be called by the F12 key or another.

In addition to the BOOT MENU, the launch of our flash drive can be configured directly through the BIOS. On motherboards, the section responsible for selecting the drive boot priority is usually called “”. For example, below is the BIOS "Boot" section on an MSI motherboard.

In this section, you can see that the UEFI-enabled flash drive is selected first for boot.

The example shows that any PC user can handle launching a USB drive with Windows 10 installation files.

Let's sum it up

In the article, we looked at three options for creating a bootable USB flash drive for Windows 10. All three options are simple, so even a novice PC user can handle them. Which option to choose is up to you. In addition to the considered examples of creating a bootable USB flash drive, we also looked at an example of launching it. We hope the material described in the article will help you create a bootable USB flash drive with Windows 10 and you will be able to fully take advantage of all the features of the new operating system from Microsoft.
