ES Explorer is an application in Russian for Windows. ES Explorer - application in Russian for Windows Launch using the icon on the desktop

A program to improve the functionality of standard Windows Explorer. It allows you to integrate some of the features of the popular Google Chrome browser into Explorer, such as working with multiple tabs in one window and creating bookmarks for frequently used files and folders.

Many people often make various jokes about the operation of operating systems of the Windows family. These are most often “advanced” users who switched to Linux and others like them :).

Many people, reluctantly, endure the inconvenience of working with a PC, gradually getting used to it. And only a few try to improve their system in any way, adding to it a variety of useful functions that make everyday tasks much easier.

In our article today, I would like to touch on the topic of improving Windows Explorer. Some users decided to get rid of it once and for all and use third-party file managers.

This is also an option, but usually many remain “tied” to the standard file access tool. And it is for such users that third-party developers write dozens of different applications that significantly improve the good old Explorer.

It's no secret that Explorer is based on the notorious Internet Explorer, only stripped down and adapted to work with the local file system. Program developers Clover, which will be discussed today, decided that since the basis for the standard Windows file viewer is a browser, then let it be... Chrome!

Accordingly, by installing Clover, we will get a “Chrome-like” appearance of Explorer with the ability to create multiple tabs (instead of opening new windows) and bookmarks to quickly navigate to the desired directories!

But about everything in due time, for now I offer a small comparison of Clover with a paid analogue that improves work with files in Explorer - Xplorer 2:

Comparison with a paid analogue

Clover is not as functional as other similar utilities, but I liked it primarily because it practically does not change the appearance of Windows Explorer. This allows you to comfortably use the standard side taskbar. That is, there is no need to relearn and remember what and where (in terms of functions) is now located - everything remains as it was, and even better :)

Program installation

Installation will not take you much time. It is enough to download the archive with the program and run the installation file from it. In the window that appears, click the “Next” button, and in the next window, select (if necessary) the installation location, click the “Install” button and wait for the installation process to complete.

After installation is complete, a program icon will appear on your desktop and the “My Computer” window will open, which will now look like this:

As you can see, virtually everything remained in place, but three new points were added: the ability to create tabs became possible, the bookmarks bar was activated, and a button in the form of a wrench was added to configure our program.

Clover program settings

First of all, let's take a look at the Clover settings menu:

To be honest, it slightly disappointed me... The fact is that, in fact, there are no settings at all :). All we can do is open a new tab, a new window and hide the bookmarks bar. Not too much, though I didn’t really want to :). Indeed, the fewer customization options, the less chance there is to mess up somewhere ;)

Interestingly, by selecting “About Clover”, we will see a window in which we can check if there are any updates for our program. By the way, it looks the same as the Chrome browser.

The “Help” item will send us to the official website of the program (by the way, it’s Chinese :)), and “Exit”, contrary to expectations, will not disable new functions, but will simply close the current window.

Working with bookmarks

As we found out above, bookmarks in Clover are the only thing that can be customized, so let's start with them:

There are several ways to add a bookmark to the desired folder or file:

  1. Drag the folder (or file) icon to the bookmarks bar;
  2. Select the folder and press the key combination “CTRL+D”;
  3. Call the context menu of the bookmarks bar and click “Add page”.

In addition, as in “Chrome-like” browsers, we have the ability to group our bookmarks into specific folders. Call the context menu of the bookmarks bar and activate the “Add folder” item:

In the window that appears, in the “Name” field, enter the desired name for your folder and click “Save.” If you need to create several folders, this can be done by clicking the “New Folder” button again. Bookmarks are added to the resulting folders using the same principles as to the bookmarks bar.

Using bookmarks, you can access any folders, files and even programs, thus obtaining an excellent tool for quickly calling up the necessary functions!

Working with Tabs

Clover's main trump card is the function of adding tabs to Explorer:

As with working with bookmarks, the most convenient way to open the desired folders in new tabs is to drag them to the tab bar. In this case, the cursor will take the form of an arrow, which indicates whether you need to insert a new tab after the existing one, before it, or open it in the current tab (see screenshot above).

However, in reality there are much more possibilities for creating a tab:

  1. The already mentioned drag and drop (opens the selected folder in a new tab);
  2. Clicking the parallelogram button to the right of the last open tab (opens a new “My Computer” tab);
  3. Keyboard shortcut “CTRL+T” (opens a new tab “My Computer”);
  4. The “New Tab” item in Settings and in the context menu of the tab bar (opens a new “My Computer” tab).

Regarding the last point, I would like to talk separately:

In the context menu you can find another quite convenient way to create a new tab - “Duplicate”. It allows you to quickly create a copy of the currently selected tab.

In addition, useful items here will be “Reopen closed tab”, which allows you to return recently viewed tabs that you closed, and “Pin tab”. The last feature allows us to keep the desired open tabs even after turning off Explorer!

In addition to the simple convenience of displaying multiple directories in one window, you can also easily drag and drop files and folders between open tabs, so that the need for multi-panel interfaces disappears by itself!

That's probably all there is to it :). It's time to take stock.

Advantages and disadvantages of the program

  • expanding functionality without changing the appearance of Explorer;
  • support for opening multiple folders in different tabs of the same window;
  • a developed bookmark system for quickly jumping to the necessary folders and files;
  • convenient tab management functions;
  • moving files and folders between open tabs.
  • not detected:).

conclusions

The conclusion suggests itself - if you are not used to using various file managers in your work, then Clover will be an excellent addition to your standard Explorer.

With its help, you will not only simplify navigation through the file system and copy data from one folder to another, but you will also be able to organize your own shortcut bar for any programs or folders! And all this - without significant changes in the functionality of the standard Explorer!

Actions with folders and files are performed through Windows 7 Explorer, which allows you to open files and directories, copy them, move them, delete them, rename them and other important operations. Below we describe methods on how to open Explorer on a computer with Windows 7, as well as solutions to problems when Explorer restarts spontaneously in Windows 7, with specific recommendations on what to do.

How to open through the Start menu?

To launch File Explorer in Windows 7, you need to perform the following several sequential steps:

Launch using the desktop icon

To do this you only need to complete one step:

Via context menu

In Windows 7, the operation can also be performed using the right mouse button:

  1. Launch the context menu from the “Start” button;
  2. Then click “Explorer”.

Key combination

This is one of the fastest launch methods. You just need to remember that to do this you need to hold down the “Win” button and click on “E”.

After this action, an explorer window will instantly pop up on your desktop.

By special team

The algorithm for this method is also not very complicated and consists of only a few steps:

Troubleshooting restart problems

Unfortunately, it is not only the computer owner who can restart Explorer, but also, for example, a virus or an incorrect entry in the registry. Also, frequent restarts may be caused by applications that are incompatible with the OS and incorrectly installed versions of PC hardware drivers.

Basically, the difficulty of the task lies in the user’s ignorance of the true cause of the problem, so it is recommended to follow the recommendations below in their strict sequence.

Note: after completing each step of the instructions, you should restart the PC and check the operation of the explorer. If the error has not yet been resolved, then proceed to the next step.

The following sequential steps are required:

Next, click “Enter.” In the window that appears, go to the “Services” tab and check the “Do not display Microsoft services” checkbox. Then click “Disable all”;

If, after restarting the PC, the explorer is already functioning normally, then it can be concluded that one of the disabled services has failed. It is necessary to sequentially reactivate them and restart the computer (this is the only way to identify the culprit of the error).

Conclusion

After completing the above steps, in most cases the error disappears, but if all actions are unsuccessful, you will have to resort to the following measures:

  1. Install the latest software for the video accelerator;
  2. Uninstall the programs installed on the PC one by one, starting with the one that was installed most recently;
  3. Use the Windows 7 recovery function and roll back it;
  4. Reinstall the OS.

Many popular applications from the world of computers also take root on mobile devices - and vice versa. For example, messenger applications WhatsApp, Telegram or Viber were initially available only for mobile devices, but now they can be used on “large” PCs. The ES project has proven itself so well on Android that many users today would prefer to use it on the big screen. Of course, if all its advantages were preserved under the desktop OS.

Convenient and small, it can do everything, works with networks, scans files for viruses, contains a preview for everything that can be shown or played, customizes the interface - the perfect file manager!

But does he exist in the world at all? At the moment there is no official confirmation.

Alas, the answer is no. Developers do not want (or are not ready) to discover new operating systems. Therefore, downloading ES Explorer for either Windows 7 or Windows 10 - free or paid - will not work anywhere.

Unfortunately, the PC version has not yet been developed by the creators of ES Explorer

Is this bad? I think no. Today there are not many popular file managers for Windows: the system file manager (which is made of windows), the modern two-panel Total Commander and the old-fashioned-looking but powerful Far Manager.

Do they need another one to join their company? In fact, there are only two cases when ES File Explorer for Windows 7 systems is really needed.

  • This is a situation where you need access to external system files from the Android emulator (BlueStacks). Then yes, ES saves you. But to say that this is “ES Explorer for Windows 7 on a computer” would be too loud.
  • Connect via Wi-Fi from an Android smartphone to a PC. If access is open, then through your favorite file browser you can view and copy files from your PC as easily as between folders on the phone itself.
  • It’s easy to copy files in both directions, although the process can only be controlled from a mobile device.

But, we repeat, it is impossible to download ES Explorer to a computer for Windows, for free or for money. All sites offering it are fraudulent. Therefore, we strongly advise you not to believe them. If you need accurate data, look for the official website of the developers or subscribe to the newsletter.

How to replace ES Explorer on Windows 7?

In general, any file manager from the previous paragraph. Any of them will provide you with maximum freedom in working with files and will help speed up long, painstaking work, and will also replace several other applications. Which one to choose is a matter of your taste.

Total Commander could be a replacement for ES Explorer

However, if developers do create ES File Explorer for some desktop OS, we will be among the first to write about it. And then it will probably be something interesting and worthy.

Note that there is another alternative, especially if you need a computer as an entertainment center: choose a model not on a Microsoft system, but on Android, and connect it to the TV. Then your favorite ES Explorer will come in very handy!

In this lesson we will look at the concept of “Windows 7 Explorer”. Newbies, of course, will have plenty of questions: what is this? What information does the guide give us?

Let's look at everything in order. In general, “Explorer” is a program that is designed to view the contents of any folder. That is, when we open a folder, a window opens that displays information about what is stored in this folder, the folder address, navigation bar, etc. To familiarize yourself with Explorer in more detail, let's look at the example of the My Computer folder. Let's open the "My Computer" folder; as a result, the so-called folder window will open, in which we see the basic commands for performing certain actions with folders:

1. Navigation buttons – includes “Back” and “Forward” buttons, with which you can either go back or forward one step, depending on how many times you navigated within the folder itself.

2. Address line - this line shows us the path where this folder is located

3. Search window – allows you to find the file you are looking for on your computer.

4. Toolbar – allows you to perform various operations on files and folders.

5. Navigation panel – has a tree structure, thanks to which the user can select the required folder.

6. Folder contents window – displays files and folders that are located in the open folder.

7. Details panel - shows us information about the selected object. In this case, the details panel shows us information about the local disk D, the total size of the disk, the file system, and the amount of space used. Explorer also has another function - “Preview Area”, which is designed to view images, videos, in a reduced version. By default, it is hidden; in order to enable it, you need to follow the commands “Arrange – View – Preview Area”.

So, we have looked at the purpose of individual commands, now I propose to consider the operations that can be performed in the folder window itself. The first thing we will look at is the display method files and folders. That is, we’ll customize the way icons are displayed to our liking. To do this, click on the arrow in and select the most appropriate way for you to display icons.

As you can see, there is quite a wide choice of ways to display icons: table, list, huge icons, large icons, regular icons, small icons, tiles.

Before we move on to further consideration of today’s article, I would like to ask you if your operating system is correctly configured on your computer, if you don’t know, then I recommend that you read my article and set up your Windows system, that’s what the article is called :

Windows 7 Explorer

In general, of course the function windows 7 explorer very easy to use especially for novice users.

You can customize the appearance of the explorer at your discretion; to do this, click on the “Arrange” tab on the toolbar and click “View”, as a result you can either choose to enable or disable the display of some elements.

To go to the settings for displaying folders, run the command: “Arrange – Folder and Search Options”.

A settings window will open, which contains three tabs:

1. General parameters – the purpose of each type of parameter is described in detail here. Basically, the parameters in this window are set by default, so I recommend that you leave the parameters the same as shown in the figure below.

2. View – allows you to customize the appearance of folders. Additional options contain a huge set of folder settings. To become more familiar with these settings, you can experiment and enable or disable some options. Basically the settings here remain default.

3. Search – this parameter indicates what requirements should be set before the search, that is, what and how to search. In the “Search” tab, the settings remain as default.

When we looked at the Explorer window at the beginning of the lesson, as you remember, there was a “Search” tab. In general, it should be noted that the search tab is also present in the start menu, in the control panel. So, why is this tab needed at all?

Imagine that your computer stores a very large amount of text and graphic information and you needed to find a file whose location address you do not remember, or the file was moved. Using search you can find the file you are looking for. Thanks to the indexing system, searching is very fast.

The indexing system is a special team whose task is to collect information about files, as a result of which the file is saved, that is, the file or folder is added to the database. A folder that is added to the database becomes indexed. When you enter the search word in the search tab, you will notice that even when you type the first letters, words will be selected that satisfy the search.

To speed up the search process, you can specify certain search parameters, such as the date the document was modified. To set up search filtering, click on the search bar and select “Date modified” in the drop-down menu, then specify the date the file you are looking for was last modified.

It should be noted that when searching, you can use the logical operators AND (and), OR (or), NOT (not). Let's say in the search bar you typed the word: sale NOT apartment, so the search will begin for a document in which the word sale appears and the word apartment is missing. The meaning of the logical operators AND (and), OR (or) is used when entering in the same way, only the meaning of the search will be different. As in Windows XP, you can also use the “*” symbol when searching - any number of characters. For example: Quart*, will search for words that begin with the word Quart.

The next thing we will look at is “Sorting” and “Grouping”. Sorting allows you to display or hide information about an object in the “Table” display mode. Let's take a closer look, to do this, open the “My Computer” folder, right-click in an empty space and select “Sorting - more details”, which will open a settings window. After specifying the required data to display, click OK. As a result, the objects will take on the appearance in accordance with the specified settings.

Grouping allows you to display objects according to various characteristics. Grouping is configured in the same way, only “Grouping” is selected when you right-click on an empty space in the folder window.

After you understand the purpose of sorting and grouping, it’s time to start analyzing the address bar. Using the address bar, you can find out not only the folder storage path, but also quickly navigate to these folders. For example, open the “My Computer” folder, then go to “Local Disk C”.

The address bar will indicate a list of executed commands; if you click on the arrow located to the right of the parent folder, a list of child folders will open and you can go to any of them. This way the user can quickly navigate to the desired folder.

The next thing we will look at is “Libraries”. By “Libraries” we mean a certain folder that contains information about the files located in the user’s folder. Of course, the question immediately arises, what kind of library folder is this? This is the folder that stores “Documents”, “Music”, “Video”, “Images”, pre-sorted into folders.

In each of the listed libraries you can create or delete libraries; to do this, right-click on the folder and select the desired command. In order to view the properties of one of the listed libraries, you must execute the following commands: “Start - Images - Properties (right mouse button)”.

As you can see from the figure, here you can also add or delete folders, as well as designate a default folder.

At the end of this lesson, we will look at what “Gadgets” are. Gadgets are mini-applications that are located on the desktop. Gadgets allow you to get certain information (for example: processor load, weather information), or you can simply take your mind off work thanks to the built-in mini-games.

To add gadgets to your desktop, right-click on an empty space on your desktop and select “Gadgets” from the menu that appears. In the window that opens, select the gadget you need and, while holding down the left mouse button, drag it to the desktop.

The gadget has control buttons that are located on the right side. Each gadget has its own personal control buttons.
So in this lesson Windows 7 Explorer We looked at the Explorer interface, its basic commands, and operations performed with folders. Learned how to add gadgets to your desktop. This concludes this lesson and in the next issue I will tell you =>.
