Alternatively, you can install an additional application that will help you block and manage calls. For example, Calls Blacklist is a great call blocking app with a great reputation for getting the job done that Marshmallow can't.

How to block calls on HTC (One M7, One M8, One M9)

Just like Samsung, HTC provides the ability to block calls and easily manage blocked numbers.

You may lose an important call from a number that doesn't show up in your contacts. All major cell phone operating systems offer a way to block a cell phone number.

Android phones

Since many manufacturers make phones that run the Android operating system, the process for blocking a number can vary greatly. Additionally, versions and above do not offer this feature. If you're using an older version, your carrier may support it, or you can block the number using the app.

Warning: Apple iOS only recently started supporting incoming call blocking as of release 7.0, so users of earlier iOS versions can only block calls by jailbreaking their phone. Instead, try upgrading to a new version of your operating system.

View and manage blocked numbers:

1. Go to Settings.
2. Click Phone.

How to block unwanted SMS on an Android phone
