What is iPhone CDMA standard? Information about the type of speakers and audio technologies supported by the device. iPhone CDMA operation in Russia

iPhone 4 CDMA, what is it?

I will try to give a detailed answer to this question!

Recently, the so-called iPhone 4 CDMA. Many people have no idea what it is. And these are real friends iPhone 4 identical regular iPhone 4 only you cannot insert a SIM card into it. You can flash it for a CDMA operator and use it as regular phone.

I hasten to assure you that this is not a copy, and not Chinese fake, this is one of the varieties of iPhone, except for the difference in the SIM slot, it is no different.

Do you know what's most interesting? New like this iPhone It's much cheaper than the one with a SIM card. Its cost in Ukraine is approximately $300 “wow” really? But even more interesting, this is a used iPhone CDMA, in Ukraine it will cost about $150-180, it’s just tough, isn’t it? Taking into account the fact that Americans treat things much more carefully than we do, used ones are sold in very close to ideal condition.

The only cost beyond the cost of the iPhone is connecting to the operator's network. There is now a very popular telecom operator in Ukraine Intertelecom. The one-time connection cost will cost you no more than 500 UAH. with approximately 80 UAH remaining in the account.

And so I’ll tell you in more detail why I recommend buy iPhone 4 CDMA.

1) iPhone 4 CDMA is quite cheap, given the fact that in terms of its capabilities and characteristics it is much superior to newer smartphones.

2) Connecting to Intertelecom you get a bunch of bonuses and interesting tariffs:

Subscription fee 30 UAH per month
-2 phone numbers, mobile 094 ... .. .. and landline (057)780 .. .. (THIS IS IN ONE DEVICE) call the landline call will be from (057)780 .. .. call mobile call will be from 094 ... .. .. !
-for 30 UAH per month you get 150 megabytes of high-speed Internet daily (the Internet is really fast, and EVERY DAY :))
-for 30 UAH per month you get 500 minutes per month for calls to local landline numbers
- further tariffs: to local city numbers 0.10 kopecks if you spoke for 500 minutes, to numbers in the region 0.45 kopecks, to numbers throughout Ukraine 0.55 kopecks, to any mobile operators 0.55 kopecks, calls to fixed numbers Russia 0.25 kopecks, calls to numbers mobile operators Russia 0.25 kopecks

3) Covering Intertelecom very extensive, and you can call or go online anywhere without any problems.

4) And the most important thing for me is constant access to the Internet, I correspond on Skype and ICQ, wherever I am, I call via the Internet on Skype or Viber, I can read my mail and respond to it everywhere, I use my organizer everywhere, which is synchronized with the computer, so I can set myself some kind of task that I, for example, came up with while standing in a traffic jam, and when I arrived home, I do this task I’ll see it on my computer, in general, for this money I can’t imagine anything more advantageous offer.

5) The speed and quality of the Internet is much better than UTEL or MTC.

You can buy such an iPhone in many stores in Ukraine, in Kharkov for example our friends sell them AVIC online store. As far as I know on this moment They even give a good discount if you order an iPhone 4 CDMA and a connection to Intertelecom together.

And so to summarize, in order for you to receive this miracle, with all its benefits, you need:

Buy an iPhone 4 CDMA somewhere, then go to an Intertelecom store and connect to an operator.

-Buy iPhone 4 CDMA in the AVIC online store, and immediately order the CDMA operator firmware into it, and get another discount on all this. Connecting to the operator takes approximately several days.

You see how everything turns out to be much simpler than it would seem. But for so little money you get a very functional, modern gadget available everywhere!

Screen type: IPS (In Plane Switching) is a high-quality liquid crystal matrix that was created to eliminate the main disadvantages of TN technology matrices. The IPS matrix most adequately conveys colors across the entire spectrum at different viewing angles, with the exception of some color positions. The TN matrix usually has a better response than IPS, but not always. So, when transitioning from gray to gray, the IPS matrix behaves better. This matrix is also resistant to pressure. Touching the TN or VA matrix results in a "excitement" or a certain reaction on the screen. The IPS matrix does not have this effect. In addition, ophthalmologists confirm that the IPS matrix is the most comfortable for the eyes. In this *s*m* way, the IPS matrix brings a bright and clear picture regardless of viewing angles, best for surfing the Internet and watching movies. But the most important thing is for image processing and viewing photos. LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) - Liquid crystal displays. The very first displays used in mobile devices, and not only in phones. Their main feature is that they have very low power consumption, due to the inability to display color images. They do not emit light and therefore phones are upgraded with backlight lamps. On some phones there were several different colors backlight based on the presence of different LEDs around the perimeter of the display. This extraordinary solution was used, for example, in Ericsson phone A3618. On this type of display, the pixels are clearly visible, and high resolution such displays cannot boast. In order to extend the life of such displays, they were made inverse, i.e. text and symbols were not displayed as filled pixels, but, on the contrary, inactive against the background of filled ones. This resulted in light text on a dark background. Currently, this type of display is used in the cheapest budget models (Nokia 1112) and as an external display in some clamshells (Samsung D830).

TFT (Thin Film Transistor) - Liquid crystal displays based on thin film transistors with an active matrix. For each pixel there are three transistors corresponding to three colors (RGB - red, green, blue). At the moment, these are the most common displays and have a number of advantages over other displays. They differ minimum time response and rapid development- constantly growing resolution and number of colors. These displays are most common in mid-range and higher phones. Working resolutions for them: 128x160, 132x176, 176x208, 176x220, 240x320 and others, less common. Examples: Nokia N73 (240x320, 262k colors), Sony Ericsson K750i (176x220, 262K colors), Samsung D900 (240x320, 262K colors). TFTs are very rarely used as external displays for clamshells.

CSTN (Color Super Twisted Nematic) - Color liquid crystal displays with a passive matrix. Each pixel of such a display consists of three combined pixels, which correspond to three colors (RGB). Some time ago, almost all phones with color displays were based on this type. And now the destiny of such displays is budget models. The main disadvantage of such displays is their slowness. The undoubted advantage of such displays is their cost, which is significantly lower than TFT. Based on simple logic, we can assume that in the future TFT will displace this type of display from the mobile device market. The color evolution of such displays is quite extensive: from 16 to 65536 colors. Examples: Motorola V177 (128x160, 65K colors), Sony Ericsson J100i (96x64, 65K colors), Nokia 2310 (96x68, 65K colors).

UFB (Ultra Fine and Bright) - Liquid crystal displays with increased brightness and contrast on a passive matrix. We can say that this is an intermediate option between CSTN and TFT. This type of display boasts lower power consumption compared to TFT. For the most part, such displays were used Samsung company in mid-range phones. This type displays are not widely used. Examples: Samsung C100/110 (128x128, 65k colors).

TN is one of the types TFT matrices-screens. Roughly speaking, TN are the simplest and cheapest TFT matrices. Viewing angles are the narrowest.

The good old tradition continues... Engineers from the iFixit portal team when they get their hands on any new Apple gadget They admire it for about five minutes, and then they pick up a set of screwdrivers with an industrial hair dryer to boot, after which they begin to disassemble the device down to the last component. During disassembly, as a rule, new interesting details are discovered, which are then used in tables like ours.

On February 7, 2011, the CDMA modification of the iPhone 4 was subjected to merciless unscrewing. Interesting news attached :)

Everyone has long known that the CDMA-iPhone differs in appearance from the usual GSM version. The device has a different antenna, in which the sections are located differently, and is completely devoid of a SIM card slot. But internal differences are also significant. Notice the completely different shape motherboard(microcircuit that fits around the battery). On the left is an iPhone 4 CDMA, on the right is an old iPhone 4:

This is what the motherboards look like when taken out (on top is the CDMA version, on the bottom is the old iPhone 4):

In the CDMA-iPhone, a different brand of flash memory is immediately noticeable (Toshiba instead of Samsung). But the main difference is modem chip. The CDMA version of iPhone 4 is installed Qualcomm MDM6600 chip- the same as Motorola Droid. The most interesting thing is that this chip supports two different communication standards at once - both CDMA and GSM . But in the iPhone 4 CDMA, the GSM modem functions are initially locked, and even if they could be unlocked, the lack of a SIM card slot initially makes the idea useless.

In other news, it should be noted completely new vibration motor in CDMA-iPhone (in the photo below it is on top). The motor vibrates a little stronger and a little more intense:

Apple has prepared an unpleasant surprise for iPhone repair services. It would seem that the displays in old iPhone 4 and him new modification completely identical. But that was not the case, because they are attached in completely different ways:

To summarize, we can say that the iPhone 4 CDMA in terms of hardware is noticeably different from last year's iPhone 4; moreover, based on the CDMA-iPhone hardware, you can confidently make predictions about the iPhone 5. For example, there is no doubt that the new iPhone models, which will be presented in the summer, a universal modem chip from Qualcomm will appear. What else will Apple surprise us with this summer?

Verizon's website was frank yesterday "Badly". Despite all the CEO, who guaranteed the stability of the company at all levels during the start of sales of the updated iPhone 4, everything turned out as always. To order the ill-fated smartphone, the operator’s customers had to update the website at best dozens of times, and the number of various errors in the operation of servers exceeded all reasonable limits. They mocked their competitors, but they themselves turned out to be no better.

And at 4 a.m. Moscow time a surprise appeared on the Verizon website: SOLD OUT!

However, this horror does not concern you and me. But the device itself is of considerable interest to all of us: Apple contributed to its design positive changes. And we're not just talking about the antenna.

The largest Western media received their test smartphones a week before the start of sales. The day before, they all almost simultaneously burst out with a whole series of reviews of the gadget, through which the same idea was visible. This idea is as old as time and relates more to the realities of life than to one poor phone: the ideal is unattainable.

What will the new iPhone please its future owners who have eaten their hands up to their elbows trying to order a “handset”? The most important advantage: now using iGadget you can truly talk with anyone within New York and other densely populated American cities. Previously, the AT&T operator, unable to cope with the incredible loads on its networks, regularly “cut off” calls from ordinary people with alarmingly frequent frequency. This fact, to put it mildly, upset operator customers who own a locked iPhone.

Something like this

AT&T sure takes a lot of sh*t today

Now all this is in the past. Verizon Delivers Unparalleled Quality voice communication compared to its competitor. None of the test calls (lasting up to 40 minutes) were dropped due to technical problems on the part of the operator. This would simply not be possible on AT&T. Verizon coverage tighter, and due to this, the iPhone 4 in the new edition picks up a signal from everywhere and with a large “margin”. Is it worth curtailing the agreement with the former exclusive distributor of iPhone in the US for this? Everything is already here not this way obviously.

The fact is that compared to AT&T, Verizon's mobile Internet speed is below competitors' values are on average two to three times. Pay attention to test measurements from two phones on different networks:

Moreover, the features of CDMA technology doom users of the updated iPhone to use the network in only one direction: either the Internet or calls. Both actions are impossible at the same time: the 3G connection will be disconnected by the incoming call, which is not good. And that's not it. According to the latest data, Verizon is ready limit traffic 5 percent of customers who use the Internet more actively than others.

There are slight differences in the appearance of the device. The antenna now consists of four equally spaced segments, which looks nice in terms of symmetry and overall unity of design. It's strange, but back panel The device has also changed a little: from it logos removed certifications, and the text was subjected to tracking before it was compacted into a rectangle shape:

Some felt that the display had been improved a bit. However, these may only be production costs. And now an obviously unpleasant detail: as we did before, the access point mode drains the battery smartphone for... 4 hours. There is some tar in the ointment.

It turns out that there is real parity of offers on the US market. If you need to make a lot of calls and talk on the phone, the best choice- Verizon. If the smartphone will be used for permanent exits on the Network, you still can’t find anything better than AT&T. Almost two identical smartphones two have absolutely different operators. Time will tell who will emerge victorious. Users and Apple has already"skim off the cream." [wired & engadget & nyt & techcrunch ]

P.S.: iPhone unlock 4 with a CDMA module turned out to be a daunting task beyond what is permitted under US law. So yes, even don't get your hopes up.

website Attention: there are many photos below. Watch the traffic. The Verizon website was downright “bad” yesterday. Despite all the assurances of the CEO, who guaranteed the stability of the company at all levels during the start of sales of the updated iPhone 4, everything turned out as always. To order the ill-fated smartphone, the operator’s customers had to update the site dozens of times at best, and the number of all kinds of errors...

Probably, not everyone knows about this, but iPhones differ from each other not only in the series (iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6) and the amount of built-in memory (8, 16, 32, 64, 128 GB) , and also a standard, which comes in two types: GSM and CDMA.

The table shows the models of GSM and CDMA standards for each series.

The model number can be found on the back of the case.

This lack of awareness is due to the fact that officially Russian market iPhones exclusively presented GSM standard. And people usually learn about the existence of the CDMA standard when they try to buy an iPhone not in Russia, but, for example, in the USA. Because now there are no problems with this - thanks to the same eBay, you can buy anything from any country.

iPhone CDMA operation in Russia.

So what is an iPhone CDMA standard, why does such a standard exist at all, and why are such smartphones not sold in Russia?

Many people have probably heard the story that in the USA you can buy an iPhone almost 2-3 times cheaper than here in Russia. The word “bike” is specifically put in quotes here. Because this is only half a story, and half is true. Yes, indeed, in the USA you can buy, for example, an iPhone 4 for about $200. But this will not be the GSM standard iPhone that is familiar to us, Russians. This will be a CDMA standard iPhone. Which, alas, will not be able to work here in Russia. Simply because cellular networks CDMA, which this device operates on, is not available in our country. In our country, only GSM networks operate.

What is the reason for this low price on iPhone CDMA standard? And it is due to the fact that when purchasing such a device in the USA, you enter into an agreement with by a certain operator cellular communications. Under this agreement, you agree to use the services of only this specific operator, and no other. The cellular operator benefits from such an agreement - thanks to it, he gets you as a regular customer. And such an agreement is also beneficial for you - thanks to it, you get the opportunity to buy an iPhone 4 not for $400, but for half the price. Thus, both parties benefit – both the mobile operator and its client.

How does it work and why the client will not be able to bypass the contract and change mobile operator to another? The fact is that the iPhone CDMA standard has one feature - this device has a special SIM card, while the iPhone 4 does not have it at all. Devices operating in CDMA networks do not have a SIM card as such. More precisely, it exists, but it is very different from the usual GSM SIM cards.

In Russia, such devices, as mentioned above, are not sold. Since they make absolutely no sense here, using them as a telephone in Russia still won’t work. But nonetheless, iPhone standard CDMA is still penetrating the country. And, be careful - they may be sold to you under the guise of " normal iPhone"When ordering from the USA via eBay, as well as when purchasing second-hand or in some illegal offices selling “gray” products. Of course, you can’t fool an experienced Yabloko customer, but a person buying an iPhone for the first time can easily fall for scammers. How do you know that the iPhone in front of you is CDMA standard? This is very simple - such a device will not have a SIM card tray (iphone 4) or see the table at the beginning of the article.

What can you do with a CDMA iPhone?

Well, what if a CDMA iPhone still falls into your hands? What can be done with it? In fact, this is a real iPhone, with all the functions and capabilities real iPhone, except perhaps that you won’t be able to make and receive calls from it. In fact, it would be most correct to compare such a device with a player iPod touch. It looks like an iPhone and has everything iPhone capabilities, but you won’t be able to call from it. So, this device can be used as an advanced digital player from Apple. With a bunch of bells and whistles and features, such as Wi-Fi, Internet surfing, the ability to install any applications from the AppStore. Therefore, even if you were deceived and sold a CDMA standard iPhone under the guise of a normal iPhone, you can always sell it for good money, at the price iPod player touch or even a little higher (since in some things it even surpasses the iPod touch - processor power, for example).

In conclusion, it is also worth saying that on an iPhone CDMA standard, in addition to Wi-Fi, it is quite possible to use Mobile Internet Same. How so?! - the reader will ask. — What kind of mobile Internet can we talk about if this device does not have a network?

However, using mobile Internet is still possible. True, for this you will have to buy one necessary thing - wireless router called. Well, or a Wi-Fi router, to put it another way. This is a small device, usually slightly larger than a matchbox (depending on the model). The operation scheme is very simple. You take a SIM card (with a connected mobile Internet tariff, of course), insert it into this device, and turn it on. The mobile Internet arrives at the wireless router, and it, in turn, begins to distribute it over Wi-Fi channel. You take your iPhone CDMA standard, go to settings and turn on reception Wi-Fi internet. Thus, in fact, you have mobile Internet on your iPhone. The main disadvantage of this method is weak battery Wi-Fi router. It lasts for about 3-4 hours.
