What to do if the antivirus blocks the file. Firewall is blocking the connection

Hello dear readers of the blog site I decided to write a short article in which I will try to talk in detail about what to do if an antivirus is blocking the Internet. Very often in my work I came across a situation where, after installing an antivirus, a client complained about an Internet outage and began calling the provider’s technical support asking why the Internet had disappeared.

After a remote scan, the reason associated with the blocking by the antivirus program is usually not identified and a specialist visit is required to fix the problem. As you understand, the visit of the master is paid, and who wants to pay extra money and waste their own time if everything can be done independently.

Before calling technical support, be sure to check all the settings and check the installation instructions to see if you did everything correctly. If you are connecting via , Then also first check whether access to the network is blocked on any other device (tablet, phone, laptop).

I want to say right away that you won’t have to delete anything; everything can be solved quite simply by changing the settings of the computer and the antivirus itself. If you have uninstalled the security program and don’t know, then I advise you to read the article on this topic.

So, let's look at several options for solving the problem associated with network blocking by an antivirus.

Disabling the antivirus filter that blocks the Internet

After installing the security program, an additional parameter “Network Filter” is automatically added to the properties of your network connection. , which, if configured incorrectly, turns off the Internet. To remove such a filter, you need to go to the Network and Sharing Center and select “Change adapter settings” in the left column. .

You will be redirected to the “Network Connections” section , where we will continue to make further changes. On the shortcut of the connection through which we access the Internet, right-click and select “Properties” from the menu that opens ».

After the completed operations, the connection properties window will open, where you will need to uncheck the box next to the filtering component, which is what blocks the network.

Then click OK and for the new settings to take full effect, reboot the computer. Most often, this method helps to remove the blocking of access to the Internet associated with the operation of the antivirus. But a situation happens when this method does not help and you need to go into the security program settings and unblock connections manually.

Now I will try to briefly talk about what settings need to be changed in the antivirus program itself. As an example, I chose the most popular Kaspersky antivirus.

If the Internet turns off after installation, then just change some parameters. The first thing you need to do is go to Kaspersky settings. To do this, right-click on the antivirus icon in the lower right corner of the monitor and select “Settings” ».

A window will appear in front of you in which you need to select a tab Settings and In the “Workplace Control” item, select the “Web Control” component ». If your network is blocked, then first uncheck the box next to “Turn off Web Control” and check if the connection is working. If everything is fine, you can try deleting access rules and re-enabling Web Control. In my opinion, this parameter is not particularly important when working on the Internet and can be easily disabled, as it was done on my computer.

Actually, this is where I would like to end my story about what to do if an antivirus blocks access to the Internet. There are many antiviruses that can disable the Internet connection, and if I talk about the settings of each of them, I simply won’t have enough time and nerves. I hope that after reading the article there are no questions left, but if there are any, then feel free to leave them in the comments.

On the Internet you can pick up many dangerous viruses that harm the system and files, and antiviruses, in turn, actively protect the OS from such attacks. It is clear that an antivirus may not always be right, because its tools end at searching for signatures and heuristic analysis. And when your protection begins to block and delete a downloaded file that you are sure of, you should resort to disabling your antivirus program and/or adding the file to the whitelist. Each application is different, so the settings for each are different.

The protection provided by modern antiviruses against malware is quite high, but they can all make mistakes and block harmless objects. If the user is sure that everything is safe, he can resort to some measures.

Antivirus add-ons

Many antivirus programs, along with other protection components, install their own browser add-ons, with the user's permission. These plugins are designed to notify the user about dangerous sites and files; some may even block access to suspected threats.

Hello, dear friends!

It often happens that when you change your antivirus program, you are faced with the problem of a complete inability to visit previously accessible sites. Why does this happen? Is an antivirus really a virus? No, of course, because everything is much simpler here: the antivirus program blocks sites because it cares about the safety of your computer! And this problem can be solved very simply: you need to add previously visited sites (to which your antivirus program currently does not allow you) to exceptions.

Sites are especially often blocked by such a “monster” as ESET Nod32, so I will use its example to show the solution to the problem. So!
Firstly, immediately after installing and launching the program, the antivirus program blocks sites that it considers potentially dangerous. Naturally, not all sites are classified as such, but what is an antivirus program essentially? This is a reinsurer who acts according to the rule “it’s better to bypass than to step on a rake.” And this is absolutely true, comrades! Agree: it is much better when your computer is free of viruses than when you have a global virus problem, such as an MBR Trojan?! (From the author: if you don’t already know, MBR viruses can be caught precisely from links to websites! And the saddest thing is that you cannot remove an MBR virus, since it is registered in the very first line of the system’s boot sector! In short the only way out is a complete reinstallation of the system, naturally with the complete loss of all data. How do you like this prospect, eh? Therefore, there is no need to “hack” your defender: he is doing his job correctly).

Secondly, it is very easy to unblock access to web pages. Here is a detailed unlocking algorithm. First, we enter the advanced settings of the ESET Nod32 antivirus. We expand the branch of the necessary items: Protection against viruses and spyware - Internet access protection - HTTP, HTTPS - Address management - Add. Now all that remains is to enter the address of the desired site into the exceptions. For example, the address you enter may look like this: *site.com*, where instead of site you enter the desired domain of the site you are accessing. Be sure to put asterisks at the beginning and end of the address (example - *site.com*). Click "Ok" and "Ok" again. All. But for the sake of consolidating the material, here’s an example: you need to go to the site http://webportal.com.ua/. You do this: F5 - Protection against viruses and spyware - Internet access protection - HTTP, HTTPS - Address management - Add. In “Add” you enter the address *webportal.com.ua*, click “Ok” and “Ok” again and that’s it: access is granted. A similar algorithm is used in other antivirus programs. Good luck!

For many, the antivirus blocks the entrance to the game, swearing that the game contains viruses. Although in fact there are no viruses there and the Anti-Virus is simply playing it safe. When you are advised to disable/uninstall your antivirus, you become indignant, and when asked to add a game to the list of trusted programs, you rarely react. This Guide will describe how to add Cabal to the list of trusted antivirus programs so as not to disable it (after all, during the game we can climb websites and so on, just in case something happens) and, moreover, not to delete it (for many this is unrealistic).

In our age of new technologies, an antivirus for a computer can be compared to a virus vaccination for a person. If your antivirus works poorly, then most likely your PC will not live long. But it also happens that after installing an antivirus you cannot access the Internet. This situation often occurs in Avast antivirus.

Avast blocks the Internet

Users may have encountered a situation where Avast blocks Internet access. It does not allow you to open any page in any browser. Avast antivirus blocks all network connections.

This situation can be caused by many reasons. Therefore, the problem will have to be solved accordingly to each of them.

Important! Most often, blocking occurs on a PC with Windows XP.

We are looking for a way out of the situation

You can do what most users do and just with. You can say goodbye to Avast at any time, so let's first figure out how to solve the problem and leave the antivirus (read about removing Avast antivirus).

First of all, you need to understand two things - why Avast blocks all sites and why Avast blocks the Internet. If the program blocks only one site, then perhaps it really is infected with a virus (you can read how to add a site to Avast exceptions).

But if, when you launch all browsers, a notification appears about blocking malicious screens, then you should act differently:

After you do everything according to the instructions, the problem with connecting to the Internet will be resolved. Now you can solve the problem yourself: “Why is Avast blocking the browser?”

It happens differently

In cases where even these steps did not help fix the problem, the conclusion arises that your computer has caught a virus. In this case, it is better to show it to a specialist and not worry about how to correct the situation. Why? Because if you are not an expert, you can do even worse (for example, delete important system files). Therefore, do not immediately believe everything you find on the global network.

Be attentive to alerts on your computer screen and listen to advice.

I hope you found this information helpful. Good luck everyone!
