The only adequate complaint I've heard is the basic amount of memory. Many say that 64 GB in 2019 on a smartphone is a joke. Personally, I don't agree. These 64 GB are enough for your eyes.
Here is an example from life. During the first days of testing, I took a couple of thousand photos and shot several dozen videos with 4K resolution. The materials took up about 15 GB of memory, which I later freed in 10 minutes by sending photos and videos to the computer.
And if it's short?! There is no more memory and there is no need for it. Everything is fine with memory.
Face ID. There are major improvements, but not ideal
The speed of Face ID has been increased by 30%, and the scanner has learned to detect the owner’s face from a greater angle. That's what Apple says.
What's in reality? Yes, Face ID is faster on the iPhone 11 Pro. It was not possible to measure 30% or only 20%. This is hardly possible without the use of special equipment and a small team of scientists. But the acceleration is there, and can be seen when comparing the 11 Pro and XS side by side.
The updated Face ID feature actually recognizes faces from more angles. Slightly move the iPhone to the left, right, or even up/down, the scanner seems to “reach out” and successfully identify you.
But the response range of Face ID remains the same. At arm's length, both the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone XS do not find their faces. In other words, about the range - this is a marketing ploy.
I have never had any complaints about the stability of Face ID. Moreover, I think ( and I'm trying to prove to everyone) that Face ID is many times better than the outdated Touch ID and all fingerprint scanners in principle. Therefore, I did not notice any sharp increase in the stability of Face ID in the iPhone 11 Pro.
An improved scanner may still not find my face “right in front of my face.” But only the first time. Repeated scan request - boom, the blocking is lifted. This happened in the iPhone X, in the iPhone XS and remains in the iPhone 11 Pro.
And if it's short?! Face ID in the iPhone 11 Pro detects the face from more specific angles. This is a nice bonus. But there is no “wow” effect from the updated scanner.

Everything in the world is cyclical. 7-8 years ago we laughed at users of Android smartphones who did not leave the sockets. 4-5 years ago, on the contrary, everyone laughed at iPhone users and their batteries up to 2000 mAh. Now iPhone fans are back on the horse.
iPhone 11 Pro is a real long-liver. It is equipped with a battery capacity 3046 mAh, which allows the smartphone to work up to 24 hours (!) in conversation mode when using a headset. This is official information from Apple.
I didn’t talk on the phone for a day, but I actively used my smartphone. Even in the first days, when I was constantly shooting, testing new modes, simply testing various applications and looking for unusual settings, the iPhone 11 Pro did not completely discharge. Only at the end of the first day the charge remained at 15%. In subsequent days from 30% and above.
In recent days, when I already use the smartphone in everyday mode, by the evening sometimes more than 50% of the charge remains.
And if it's short?! Battery life is super! Only gamers who for some reason play away from a power outlet will be able to discharge a smartphone in a day.
Sound. Now it's spacious and easy to hear
The stereo speakers in the iPhone 11 Pro have been improved. There are two changes you should be aware of. We start with pictures in excellent daylight. Above is an example of a shot taken with a telephoto lens. The camera did a wonderful job with such a complex shot. Pay attention to the detail... anywhere! Tree foliage, domes, background. All objects have excellent detail. I draw a conclusion looking ahead. In excellent natural light (on a sunny day outside), the iPhone 11 Pro will produce photos with excellent quality. The best among iPhones.
The same shot with a wide-angle lens. The frame is noticeably expanded. In addition to the temple, it included the road, nearby houses and other objects. What about quality? There are no complaints about the detailing of the temple and relatively nearby objects. But in the corners of the image, detail has dropped noticeably. But, of course, to do this you need to zoom in on the photo on a computer. It’s just that, in the general plan, you won’t notice the drop in detail.
Bam! These are the photos the iPhone 11 Pro takes using its ultra-wide-angle lens. And no, I did not run 15 meters away from the subject. I stood still and simply switched modes. Everything was included in the frame. If you look at the photo in normal mode, it looks cool. If you specifically bring it closer, then defects are visible, without which not a single ultra-wide photo is complete. Buildings, lanterns and people at the edges of the frame glanced sideways, relatively insignificant.
One more example.
I said about detailing, now I want to pay attention to color rendition. Apple holds its own. The colors in all the pictures are real.. There is no artificial processing, which is especially clearly visible in the photographs of the temple. Take a similar photo with some Chinese camera. In most cases, the image will look like something out of a children's coloring book.
The same applies to shots taken with wide-angle cameras. The colors are identical everywhere, even check with a pipette.
In other words, Apple is great again. The company didn’t give a damn about those who say that “Chinese” pictures turn out brighter. Yes, bright, but not real. If I want to make my photos artificially bright, I will use filters. And the rest of the time you need the camera to take honest photos. The iPhone 11 Pro handles this.
Another good example of the camera being honest. In this shot, the sun's rays illuminated the temple, it became brighter. This is how the camera captured him. The example clearly shows that the iPhone does not take “dull” pictures. He films reality.
What happens to a photo when the lighting gets worse? The camera does its job perfectly. Here are some illustrative examples. In the photo above, notice the detail throughout the frame. From the front it is clear - everything is fine. But look at the background, in particular, at the domes - the actual subject of photography. They are wonderfully detailed, even upon closer inspection. The building on the right, which has no use in the frame, also came out great. But this is just for show.
And one more example. In this picture I would like to draw your attention to the fact that there are still defects along the edges of the picture in low light. Still, Apple is not doing magic; it is far from absolute ideal.

I can find fault here, but I won’t. The pictures turned out great and nice to look at. And even though the work of the noise reduction is clearly visible on the left side of the frame, these are all trifles. You can shoot on the iPhone 11 Pro early in the morning. It will turn out cool.
And if it's short?! The pictures taken during the day, in the evening and even in the early morning are beautiful! You can shoot at super-wide angles, but just as importantly, regular photos have gotten better.
Night shooting mode. The moment when you realize that you didn’t spend 100 thousand on a smartphone in vain
If for some reason you are reading this review while standing, have a seat. The iPhone 11 Pro's new Night Mode may make your head spin. I'm serious.
Night mode is a key innovation in the iPhone 11 Pro camera. It fundamentally changes the understanding of what can be photographed with an iPhone and what cannot. The example above describes night mode best.
This photo was taken at night. When I looked at the picture in front of me, I was sure that it would turn out to be a terrible photo. These are usually removed immediately. This is a long-standing habit that has remained from all old smartphones. You think: “ It’s dark in front of me, I won’t get a good photo».
But the iPhone 11 Pro and its Night Mode changes everything. Now I can point my smartphone camera at a barely lit object in the middle of the night and get a mini-masterpiece. It is this understanding that is changing. Because suddenly you realize that you can take a photo in conditions in which you had never even thought about taking a photo before.
Okay, more examples. Yes, there are defects here, that's understandable. But I like this shot. And especially the way the iPhone captured the stars. How are they on topic here! The perfect addition to the frame.
I will still criticize this example. The foreground is completely dark, nothing is visible. The photo is not about him, but you always want more.
What's most impressive is that Night mode can be used for wide shots. By the way, few people talked about this. All Night Mode photos from Apple itself or reviewers captured some objects located near the camera. Even then, I wondered whether the iPhone 11 Pro could take equally cool photos of general plans. Our own practice has proven that it can.
A couple more great examples of night mode working. Again, look at the sky. The stars become visible - this is a very cool feature.
Of course, even night mode needs light. If you shoot in complete darkness, then the night mode will pull something out, but you won’t get a masterpiece.
How is this possible? The wide-angle camera matrix together with the A13 Bionic processor uses a specially designed system. First, the camera takes a whole series of pictures. We don’t notice this, since only a second passes, but the camera manages to take enough photos.
Then the processor is connected. It uses Apple algorithms to combine the resulting images. This process helps eliminate distortion.
Next comes contrast adjustment, color correction and noise elimination. Have you noticed that the noise reduction work is almost invisible in night mode images? So this is all thanks to a special algorithm.
And if it's short?! Night mode changes the general understanding of what can and cannot be photographed. If before I didn’t take out my iPhone at all to shoot after eight in the evening, now I can take a great shot even late at night.

As I wrote earlier, I tested the camera even early in the morning. Lack of lighting does not in any way affect the quality of video recording. Take a look at the sample above. Detailing, color rendition and smooth camera movement are all at an excellent level.

The zoom, first optical and then digital, works perfectly. The camera hardly shakes when zoomed in. It is important to note here that I filmed everything hand-held. It should be better with a tripod.

Night photography on the iPhone 11 Pro has the same problems as previous models. The work of the noise reduction is quite visible. Yes, technology does not yet allow us to completely eliminate defects. But progress is needed. We will wait in iPhone 12.
And two more samples with the same meaning. With artificial lighting at night, normal videos are obtained. But there can be many improvements.
Bottom line. Best smartphone, but the price tag kills all the fun
iPhone 11 Pro is the best smartphone ever released. A proven design with nice tweaks like frosted glass, a powerful processor, unrivaled battery life and an all-around amazing camera. A cool device, for which, alas, you need to pay at least 90 thousand rubles.
And it ruins everything. Yes, if there were “dollars at 30” everything would be different. But let's not live in a fantasy world. For most, the iPhone 11 Pro is too expensive if we talk about buying without installments or credit. This is the main disadvantage of the iPhone 11 Pro. Otherwise the smartphone is great.
I decided not to rush into reviewing the iPhone 11 in order to get the most complete picture of the usability of the smartphone. Two weeks is quite a normal period to understand all the advantages and disadvantages of the device.
Not as many impressions as . There were not enough practical changes and innovations, although no one expected them, since this was a minor update of the devices.

A design you're not ashamed of
I think you all remember how after the first ones everyone complained about the terrible design of the camera. No less than on the iPhone 11 Pro.
If in the “firmware” this was explained by the presence of three lenses, then in the “eleventh” there were only 2 of them left. Only the telephoto was replaced with a wide one. And you know, I like how it looks in real life.
Apple did the right thing by not painting it black. Now the cameras are not very noticeable, and the backing for them is generally transparent, it is almost invisible. Due to what the block fits harmoniously into the device body.
And how I like the Apple logo placed in the center. It seems as if it has always been this way, and he is in his place. At the same time, we got rid of all unnecessary inscriptions.
Yes, in Russia and other European countries there are waste bin markings (proper disposal) and CE (certification). But they are almost invisible. To discern the presence of these symbols, you need to look closely in bright light. Respect that they hidden as much as possible.
There is no matte finish here, the glass remains glossy. It collects absolutely all prints, even if you lightly touch the back panel. I didn't notice any difference with the previous generation.
Night photo. Doesn't work everywhere
This is probably one of the strengths of the iPhone 11. It captures frames amazingly in low light: many small details appear, the picture becomes brighter and more saturated. Even in the dimmest light, you will see what is in front of you.
But here we are talking only about the main camera of the device. The ultra-wide-angle doesn’t work in the dark at all.

No more 3D Touch, get over it
This is the weakest point in the new iPhone for all fans of strong pressing. If you didn't have an iPhone XR and loved 3D Touch - pain is guaranteed. You get used to good things quickly, but it takes a long time to get used to them.
During these 2 weeks, I have not yet been able to fully switch to the new long-press system. It doesn't work out and that's it. If with 3D Touch everything was done in a split second, now the response time has increased.
I type the text, correcting instant errors in words by moving the slider. Previously, it was enough to press harder at any point on the keyboard, but now you need to tap and hold down the spacebar, which works every other time.
Or another example. With 3D Touch, you could instantly hide an incoming notification: press it harder and immediately swipe down. Now you need hold it for a second finger on this message and only then swipe.
Nikita was right about editing the desktop. If earlier we had 2 separate actions for the context menu and deletion, now for deletion alone we need to hold down and then tap on Change the order of applications, or drag the icon to the side. More time is wasted, and this is not very pleasant.
Face ID now works from a wider angle
I personally did not notice a noticeable increase in the speed of Face ID. The iPhone Xs Max with iOS 13 was as fast as the iPhone 11 with iOS 13.1.1. I brought it to my face, for a moment, the smart phone was unlocked. Great? Undoubtedly yes. But this already happened, it was just solved by the firmware.
But what iOS 13 failed to achieve was an increased viewing angle. They are in iPhone 11 more, although not by much. You no longer need to reach your face towards the iPhone display to unlock it.
According to my personal observations, the new iPhone can read my face without any problems from an arm's length distance at an angle of about 30 degrees. This is a nice bonus.
The only thing that didn't suit me is still no unlocking in horizontal position.
A trivial example: you are sitting, watching a video on YouTube, you want to turn up the volume and accidentally press the block button. Additional action needed. Take the iPhone in your hand, turn it and only then continue viewing.
Surround sound. Meet Dolby Atmos
The sound on iPhone 11 is simply amazing. This is probably the best thing I've heard on smartphones in general.
There are two speakers left: the lower and upper conversational ones, which have become stereo since the iPhone 7. Both began to produce greater detail, a hint of bass appeared, and the volume increased by one and a half times. It feels like the iPhone is the same now loud, like some small portable speaker.
Now imagine that there are several such speakers around you. They all move individual sounds around the head. It works Dolby Atmos on iPhone 11. It is not noticeable in music in Apple Music, but is clearly visible in iTunes movies. I checked on Mission: Impossible: Fallout.

Who should take it and who should wait?
I can say for sure that there is no need for owners of previous generation flagships to buy iPhone 11.
If you have an iPhone 8 Plus or lower lying around, now is the time to upgrade. The cameras have been greatly upgraded, the hardware has become noticeably more powerful, the sound has become more voluminous, and that’s all. You will notice an increase in everything.

▪️ iPhone 8. In principle, you have a fairly self-sufficient smart device that will last for a long time. But the battery is probably worn out, and the design is outdated. The difference is noticeable: the display is larger, the processor is more powerful, the cameras are better, the sound is bigger.
▪️ iPhone X. If it doesn't light up, wait until next year. You have a fairly modern smartphone, which, perhaps, has a weak battery. For many, returning to LCD may seem like a downgrade.
In 2017, Apple surprised us with new iPhones. The company has released two and a half new smartphones with strange naming. She skipped and jumped over the iPhone 9. Let's deal with the last one.
iPhone 8 and iPhone X (10ka) were released in 2017
The first two are almost identical to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. However, they received three new body options, a glass back, wireless charging and the A11 Bionic processor - the most powerful mobile solution on the market.

iPhone X is Apple's main innovation. An almost frameless smartphone with a strangely shaped screen. A new price, which is especially scary in Russian realities, and a real Kinect instead of Touch ID. We still need to touch it, but so far it’s scary.
iPhone 8 - marketing, iPhone X - anniversary
We've already talked about why Apple skipped the iPhone 7s and went straight to the 8k in the name. It seems to me that this is nothing more than a marketing ploy - and quite obvious.
The fact is that Apple's main competitor (the one with Korean roots) already produces flagship smartphones of the 8th line. A lag in this case can be fraught with a significant decrease in sales. That's the whole story.
We always dreamed of making an iPhone one large display. A display so impressive that you'll forget about the physical device itself. And such a smart device that it responds to touch, word and even glance. (Apple)
And this is how Apple describes the iPhone X, which isn't even out yet. In 2017, it was exactly ten years since the release of the very first iPhone (popularly known as the iPhone 2G). Therefore, there is not an “X” in the name, but a proud 10ka.
In the end, everything seems to be logical. But with this situation, Apple has led itself into a real naming trap. And it is in this article that I want to make my assumption about how she will look for a way out.
iPhone 9: out of date a year before presentation
The iPhone X, which not everyone will be able to afford this year, will turn out to be a real testing ground for Apple. With its help, it will test new technologies that will be used in the future. Yes, on you and for your own money.
Therefore, next year the iPhone X will not replace the iPhone 8 in the company's line of smartphones. Most likely, in 2018 Apple will release the iPhone 9, which will have a design that is familiar from the days of the iPhone 6. What else will it contain:
- New processor A12 with a strange code name
- A little more RAM - at least 4 GB
- May be Face ID- there is just a place for him on the “forehead”
iPhone 9 will definitely not be called a revolution. It will be another evolutionary continuation of the classic line of Apple smartphones. I’m sure that I myself will similarly lean towards the iPhone 9 or 9 Plus.
Well, the masses will scold the 9s for the lack of innovation, but they will buy them with great pleasure. And all because fresh alternatives with a logo in the form of a bitten apple will be much more expensive.
iPhone X Update: will be delayed until 2019
In September next year, Apple should introduce something like the iPhone XI (11). This device will be slightly different from the iPhone X - the same body size, similar screen, and so on.
But some characteristics will definitely need to be improved for the sake of 2018. And this is natural, because selling last year’s device without changes at the same price will be too difficult. What will change:

- A little more RAM - at least 4 GB
- Some new body color, it’s already like a tradition
- Another new selling feature
Similar to the iPhone X, which obviously will not hit the masses until 2018, the iPhone XI will be delayed until 2019. Apple will definitely still have problems with the supply of OLED screens, so there are no options here.
But 2019 is the time to present a fundamentally new iPhone. This year the company will definitely abandon classic smartphones and will have to surprise with something new. Previously, I simply would not have expected any innovations.
